As soon as that tinny voice began to speak, she let out a sigh of relief. Not only did she not have to file the bug report herself and COD13 showed up anyways to fix the bugs, but it also seemed it was equally appalled at the bugs.
And then it blamed her, and she had enough. Her patience had quickly vanished as suddenly as the program had arrived. "Yo, what the hell! Behind this? I just showed up you crazy-asshole porygon!"
What kind of bug-fixing program was openly hostile to its players? That seemed like a bad idea.
Laguna covered her eyes when the flash of light threatened to blind her. When sight was eventually restored, she breathed another sigh of relief. The Kyogre was nowhere to be found. The storm remained, but the worst of the worst was gone.
"Bluh, at the very least, you do a good job... But seriously?" She didn't know what customer support would even do in a situation like this, but in truth, probably nothing unless it was a mass report. That seemed to be the only way to get people to listen to anything.
And then everything promptly fell apart. She watched with growing fear as COD13 absorbed data from the blue orb, growing and twisting into a mutated version of itself, with Kyogre's primal power. It was like something out of some sci-fi novel, the game literally growing and twisting and turning evil itself.
"... Called it. I'm filing a complaint if I live through this." The Primal COD13 readied to strike her and a few others with his cannon and she was already leaping into action, attempting to protect at least some of her pokemon from being outright deleted.
Clutching her Bergmite in her arms, she was putting her faith in the iceberg pokemon to protect her as well. "C'mon Glacia, I know you can do it this time, strike down that mean program, Avalanche!"
After missing so many attacks against the Kyogre, the Bergmite practically roared out in determination as massive ice chunks flew towards COD13 in defiance of its new strength. Laguna in Zone A

Laguna was dumbfounded for a moment. The raid was a glitchy mess, but there wasn't anything she could do about it. Her own attacks seemed to not only strike, but she highly doubted that Kyogre's own strikes would also miss in turn.
For the briefest of moments, she debated filing a bug report mid-raid. Her Pokemon scrambled about in the sand with her, attempting to climb back up to higher ground as the HP pool of the Kyogre seemed to make even attacking it seem more and more fruitless.
And yet, someone else had to have already reported it, right? Someone who wasn't probably breaking the terms and service of the game to play it via proxy from another country. Probably. She was still unsure of the details, but it was better to err on the side of caution
Not to mention, those words from COD13 stuck in her head.
"...If there is another instance of unusual health regeneration I will be forced to eliminate the species to prevent an outbreak."
She shuddered to imagine how that would affect the raid. Perhaps if nothing was done soon, she might try and report it anyways...
"Alright buckos, we gotta batten down the hatches! Or whatever that means! Dig yourselves in, and blast again! Water Pulse, Avalanche! C'mon Glacia, you can hit it this time!"
Her Squirtle and Froakie launched their barrage of water once more, striking Kyogre again. And yet, the Avalance with its sheets of ice slams straight through the Kyogre once more. The sheets of ice themselves appear almost glitchy, clipping into the terrain, and breaking their own models as if simply passing through Kyogre broke their code itself.
Glacia the Bergmite absolutely looked discouraged, it was just born and trying its hardest. Laguna couldn't help but just feel bad, his moves looked so impressive too! "We can get him next time, gal! Just keep trying!" Laguna in Zone A Active: Squirtle (330/350) Froakie (110/150) Bergmite (330/350)

Whatever Laguna had been expecting as she scrambled onto the scene of the raid, it was not this. Whatever this was.
Total chaos. Total glitchy chaos.
Kyogre was clipping into the sand, attacks wildly going in every direction, let alone its own very health just shooting back up!
"That's hardly fair!" Laguna shouted with a heavy pout, sliding down onto the beach. One foot resting on top of her Squirtle's shell as it slid, the other foot atop her Bergmite sliding. It was a more perilous foot position, but she had practiced this lil' surfing move for days now with them! She wasn't about to just let it go to waste!
Plopping down into the sands near manish , she'd give the friendly player a quick wave before immediately commanding her pokemon. "Sheldon, Hoppy, Water Pulse the big bad fish!" The Squirtle spun around in the sand, building up water pressure inside its cheeks before spraying a huge blast of water out towards Kyogre. Her Froakie followed suit, bouncing around the sand excitedly as it blasted a few weaker blasts of water, but strikes nonetheless.
"Glacia! Freeze some fish! Avalanche!" The Bergmite immediately loud out a cheer, raising its little body up as icy clouds began to form up above, raining down huge chunks of ice. Or at least, until the chunks of ice seemingly phased right through the Kyogre, slamming into the sand dunes nearby. "Oh, that is so unfair!" She quickly shouted, scrambling in the sand for a more solid footing.
"Has it always been doing that?" Laguna would shout out to her fellow players, hoping for some kind of response. "I know it's in beta, but this is ridiculous!" Laguna in Zone A Active: Squirtle (340/350) Froakie (130/150) Bergmite (340/350)

"I'm late!" Laguna scrambled as she logged back into the game, double-checking her pokemon in her current party.
The first real raid of the game was beginning in just moments and she might not make it in time! She had missed the immediate preperations for the raid, an unfortunate series of circumstances kept her busy. "Bluh, landlords suck. Probably not more than world-ending fish gods, but I suppose we will see, won't we?"
Glacia her Bergmite was already by her side, excitedly sliding all around as it cried out in agreement with their trainer. They didn't know what a landlord was, but they didn't really care all that much either. Thunder cracked in the distance, and Laguna quickly began to sprint towards the coast.
"I'm coming!" She shouted out to no one in particular, Bergmite sliding around like a hockey puck against the ground. Support: Popplio Tank: Bergmite, Squirtle: Sweeper: Froakie

At the very end of the race, Laguna was exhausted. Even as she flopped onto the ground to catch her breath, she found herself wondering if she even needed to. The tightness in her chest, the loss of oxygen after such exertion... it was all mental energy, right? So how in the world did she feel so tired?
Virtual Reality was amazing.
"H-hey! Yeah! Later, too!" She'd huff, catching her breath as she climbed back onto her knees. "I'll-" Laguna paused to take a deep breath. "Definitely, definitely have to see you later at some point! Can I send you friend requests? Or like, what, give you my phone number? I don't know the system for this."
She'd laugh joyously and free, grinning ear to ear until the two finally separated. It was nice to make a friend so early on in the game, anyways.

There he was. That dang frog. It still looked drowsy and not exactly all there, as if its fight recently with her Popplio had drained it of its energy.
Her Popplio barked by her side, clearly ready for revenge. Her newly hatched Bergmite waddled around on the sand as if it had no idea what it was. "You know dears, I could probably just throw a Pokeball at it now, it looks pretty weak-"
And just like that, her Popplio had already flung itself off towards the Froakie, an Aquat Jet slamming into the side of the Froakie caught unaware, attempting to bite back.
"O-oh! Geez, Marina that's uncalled for!" She'd cry out, grabbing the golden Pokeball at her hip and quickly tossing it. "When we get back, we're totally discussing your anger management!"
Popplio frowned at that, finally picking up the shell she had fought so hard for to begin with.
"... Okay, but you can keep the shell. Just don't attack without permission again! You could get us in some bad situations!" And with that, she finally chucked the Pokeball, hoping to capture the Froakie. "You two are going to be the best of friends, so help me!"

Oh no.
The sand settled, and there stood atop the pile of sand was the Froakie, remaining supreme. It kicked a few bits of sand over the collapsed Popplio before hopping back to its claimed piece of driftwood.
Laguna let out a soft sigh, returning Marina back to her Pokeball. That Froakie was tougher than it looked, even if it did appear exhausted. It seemed it was content to just rest atop its log, leaving her alone.
She sighed softly, staring at the frog before quickly slipping back down the sandbank. It was time to go get them patched up, and then, she'll return stronger than ever. Hopefully, the Froakie wouldn't leave in the meantime.
Walking away, it was only now that she noticed her egg was covered in cracks. Her eyes grew wide and her excitement quickly replaced her sorrow. "Oooh, let's get you to hatch at the shrine! And we can come back to finish the job!"

Both pokemon looked weak at this point, there was no telling who would be the real victor in the end. Laguna bit her lip as the tension built. "Come on! Marina! You can do this! I believe in you!"
The Froakie was clearly worse off for wear, stumbling where it stood, drowsy, distracted, and dizzy. Her Popplio was simply beaten up, visible injuries a-plenty, but she was still eager to fight. She let out a cry, clearly attempting their best to appear threatening.
"Aqua Jet!" Laguna cried out, just as the Froakie clearly attempted to slam into the other with a Quick Attack. Both were moving so fast, it was hard for her to see what was happening as sand went flying.
She could only hope her Pokemon would return victorious.

The strong blast of icy wind wasn't enough to dissuade the Froakie, who had adjusted to the spamming strategy! With a few Quick Attacks, it not only dodged out of the way of the shards but slammed into the side of Popplio!
Laguna scrambled over the sandbank, climbing over to the other side to find the two of them fighting neck and neck. The two rolled around in the sand, attempting to get a better position on one another.
"Sing!" Laguna shouted, hoping her Popplio would understand. Recognizing the command to do that move, the seal pokemon raised its voice, her beautiful echo filling the surrounding area.
The Froakie suddenly got visibly drowsy, distracted by the music even as it continued to attempt to strike. "Now! Now's our chance! Keep on your toes!"
Cracks along the egg slowly began to grow, unseen by the distracted trainer.

The frozen cold wind slowed down the Froakie down just enough that a multitude of frozen shards slammed into its virtual body. Despite the successful strike, her Popplio wasn't completely un-harmed. The bubbles struck Marina hard, sending her tumbling down across the sandbank.
"Marina!" Laguna shouted, losing sight of her pokemon as the Froakie suddenly leaped across the sandbank to continue to attack it, now out of view. "Icy Wind again! It worked last time, keep it up!"
Sure enough, a massive gust of wind blew once again this time even chilling Laguna to the bone as it washed over her.
Unbeknownst to her, however, her egg had slowly begun to crack.

As it turned out, there was a staredown happening.
Frog against seal, staring back to back. It seemed as if the Froakie had claimed a specific piece of driftwood for himself, sitting atop it. Her Popplio was intent to grab a shell sitting nearby, but neither was content to go near the other.
Climbing atop the small little sand bank with egg in hand, Laguna watched as the Froakie suddenly struck first! A beam of bubbles sprung forth from its mouth, attempting to dissuade either of them from approaching!
"Woah!" Laguna shouted, protectively moving to brace the egg, protecting it from any errant bubbles. "Marina, use Icy Wind! Blow them away!"
"Pop!" Replied the seal-like Pokémon, swirling its head as a gust of wind began to form, flinging ice shards at the Froakie as it attempted to hop out of the incoming attack.
