Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

When had ibis saved his life? Does he mean the very-much visible cliff that had been clearly marked on the map Muin had been looking at at the time? Ugh, whatever. To paraphrase dear Jane Austen: Muin agrees to it all, for he does not think Ibis deserves the compliment of rational opposition: "Sure." is what he says, but then he remembers the very vital part about kissing booboos and pauses. A deep pink spreads over Muin's cheeks, he sighs deeply, and then steps forward — continuing to walk as if in the hope that if he moves away fast enough, Ibis will ignore that. "I think we're almost there. Hopefully we won't run into any more issues." Walk, walk, walk. Don't look back. Not even for Nin's sake. Good thing the little Rowlet can fly and go perch herself right on his shoulder. He says nothing to her. Why does everything feel so warm all of a sudden? At least, with all obstacles out of the way, they make it to deliver the package in no time, putting a literal end to their quest (with a checkmark and everything).

Is it more surprise or glee? He's not quite sure, but he finds the situation very funny, and the fact that Muin zooms away in a rate of speedwalking heretofore unseen outside of a marathon only made it all the more funny, and even quite a bit charming. Did he not realise what he'd quickly 'sure'-d to? Cute. Ibis is a tease, but even he knows when too much is too much, and so he walks quietly without anymore stupid things to add to the atmosphere. They hand in their package in perfect time, and the fancy little ding of a completed quest checks off on his UI. His first quest! Exciting! Stupidly easy, of course, and Ibis could've down it with his eyes closed, but that's the thing when you're a professional what-some-might-call-Gamer, right? Doing push-ups on stream counted as gaming. They did. He checked. It's natural, then, that their meeting would come to a close as all quest markers fade away and the two young men return to the world outside of Professor Ash's lab, and they would leave as only friends in the way a guy who carried you in a WoW raid that one time is your friend, or the guy who all-but 1-shotted the Rathalos you'd been monster-hunting for a week is your friend. But the difference was that those guys probably weren't hot, and so Ibis speaks up again. "We'll do this again sometime, huh? Not this quest, obviously, but hanging out. Good to find a bud in this big, scary, wild world." He grins, that same too-wide puppy grin that Ibis and Pace have in common. "You said you're not online often, then I guess I'll have to carry you a little when I'm maxed out level, huh? As for today..." He looks Muin, quite unmistakably, up and down and up again. "...I'll pay you back sometime for helping me out. We can get dinner or something. There's gotta be a digital coffee shop somewhere here, right?" He beams like the sun and twice as loud.

This ibis person is gobsmackingly bold. See, dear Percy over here has been told countless amount of times by a multitude of different people that he can, in fact, be quite intimidating even when he doesn't intend for that. Even when he's just being himself! Ibis, however, doesn't seem to think so at all, and clearly that means that either his appearance in the game makes Muin seem more approachable than what Percy actually is or this person is dauntless to the point of complete ignorance. When staring at Ibis, Muin decides that the answer must certainly be the latter. "That's a very kind offer, Pace." Unlike before, he decides to use the name the other had offered rather than his IGN, an amethyst gaze meeting a golden one now that enough time has passed for those rose hues at his cheeks to have completely faded. "However, I have no interest in eating dinner in deep dive. You don't need to repay me for anything." As Percy sees it, eating while playing games like UNOVR dive sounds like a slippery slope towards preferring deep dive over reality. Cautious as ever, he'd rather abstain from that. Still, when looking at the man before him, he speaks words that some would call a simple goodbye, but that Muin himself has never spoken to anyone else in this game: "...I suppose I will see you around." Muin means what he says before leaving, knowing that doubtlessly that sentiment will prove itself true thanks to the friend request Ibis had sent earlier.
