NOONLIGHT SHRINEThe clear wood of the Noonlight Shrine and its guardian await. The bright boughs of an ancient tree rise from a break in the underbrush, spreading skyward like a hand reaching up to grasp at the sun.
Its branches are gnarled and broad, yet the tips are full of fresh leaves and plump buds. New life has sprouted in the tree, as the eternal cycle continues.
You can feel the years embedded here. The sense of time and wisdom is oppressive, yet inspiring. This tree was here centuries before you, and it will remain long after you are gone.
new! Ascended Moltres rests in the upper reaches of the tree, technicolored wings wrapped tight around itself and its head buried under one wing. Sometimes it will look down at those who come to pray or to heal.
It is said that those who pray for war may have their prayers answered by Moltres, and be granted some of her strength, speed, or luck in their next battle.
The Shrine awaits your touch... When you reach 0 HP, you can bring your fainted Pokemon to the shrine. Make a post in this thread and the mysterious energy within the monument will restore them to full health. Pokemon may be changed to Galarian Form at this location.

Furrlicity's 'Tall Grass HP' was still pretty high. Between his last four catches, it had only went down by about a quarter. He planned on being out here for a while, though, and the place was pretty close so he thought he may as well swing by. The Noonlight Shrine had a very interesting aesthetic. Where the shrines to both Kyogre and Groudon had looked like proper shrines, little building for them to pray at, these looked more like holy areas.
Shrugging, he approached with his Litten in tow. It's hot here. So hot that he can feel the sweat on his brow as he approaches the tree. A palm is laid on the wood, scorching underneath, and he pulls it away startled. Closer examination reveals that Furrlicity's hand is just fine. The sensation did not stay.
But his health did recover. Interesting.

After the fight with that Jigglypuff, Furrlicity found himself returning to the shrine pretty quickly. His HP had taken another chunk out and one of his pokemon was put to sleep. In the menu it said that it couldn't battle till it woke up or was healed. Who knew how long the Espurr would sleep, anyway?
Boo sniffed at the base of the tree before making a disgusted face.
< This thing smells nasty! Do we really need to use it to heal? >
"Yeah. You don't have to touch it. Just me." Which Furrlicity did as he replied, getting a fresh coating of the weird black stain on his hands. It was still just as gross.
Boo seemed to think this over before a small, rusty purr rippled from her chest. This seemed to make the Shinx sheepish but she still looked happy. Stepping closer to Furrlicity, she rubbed on his leg, making a few sparks ripple up his clothes.
< Thank you for making me not do something icky. >

Smoke fills the air, carrying the scent of burned wood. The area around the tree is warm, almost too warm, to the point that waves of heat distort the view of the autumnal birches around them if staring at one spot for too long. However, as she finds a spot to sit next to the tree’s trunk, Tuesday realises that she doesn’t really mind it all that much… aside from the strange feeling it gives her. Perhaps it’s the whole Kindler thing, she’s sure she read something about that when choosing a class.
Unsurprisingly enough, her Fennekin also seems more than comfortable with the warmth of their surroundings.
"Oh. Here we go." Looking at her palms, Tuesday opens the user interface, searching for all information available regarding the pokémon she had just caught. A Petilil, apparently. "Says here it’s a ‘grass’ type. Shouldn’t you have been able to deal with it easily? Since you’re fire and all?"
Obviously, the implications don’t please the little golden fox. <'If you’re going to complain so much then maybe you should deal with it next time.'>
Eyes of ruby and sapphire fall upon the pokémon, a single strawberry blonde eyebrow being raised then. Professor Ash had mentioned that Fennekin can be temperamental but do their best for their trainer, and so far, that description is spot on when it comes to Aesop… Still could do without all the sass, though.
"Maybe I will, but then I’d have no use for you."
If only for a couple of seconds, something akin to shock and concern overtakes the fox’s expression, but then it puffs out its chest and its ears heat up, shooting out sparks.
<'Ha. Don’t be dumb. You need me!'>
Proud. Tuesday smirks at that, and instead of giving a reply, she turns her attention to looking for the pokedex entry on Fennekin. After reading it, she hands the small fox a twig.
"Here. Play with that while I figure out these settings. They’ve been bothering me."
Might as well use her time at the shrine to do something productive.

Once more, Lucky had found himself at the precipice of a shrine... Though this shrine was not that of a precipice, portcullis or even a porcupine. What a shame. There was a creepy tree that looked right out of Lucky's bedtime horror stories, though-He was all but convinced at first glance that this tree was fey-bound.
"Christ... Dead trees ought'a stay dead. How many times have you had to've been struck by lightning?" Lucky asked of the tree. The tree, as a tree, had no response to give to Lucky Guy. He was still as alone as ever in the groveside. Being as alone as this gave him an idea nonetheless. Lucky glanced around warily, as if someone could walk in at any moment and see what he was about to do... But he was thankfully still alone.
Lucky cast his fishing line into the leaves of the tree.
"Ack. Damn it all..."

Soon it would be time for another round of hunting wild pokemon. That meant Furrlicity needed to go and touch the weird bark so he could get full HP.
He wrinkled his nose when he reached out and brushed his fingertips along the trunk. More unnerving that the actual feel of the ashy bark under his hand was that he was getting kind of used to it.
"This is disgusting." He muttered to himself, shivering.

Once more, once more, the feeling of tacky ash sticks under his nails. Heat pushes into his palm and leaves a lingering mark that seems to last longer than the dark stain.
He'd only fought two pokemon since his last trip here! Two! The first one had went down in one hit so it barely counted. Those Deerling were vicious when they got pissed off.
"I wonder if this shrine will come awake like the last one did."
It was asked to no one, since Honey had fallen asleep where she was perched on his head.

Once again, Furrlicity touches the shrine. It coats his palm and leaves him feel feeling wrong. He shivers as he leaves, stopping at a small stream as he has been doing to wash what he can from his skin. It usually stains, which was fine, but he hated the feeling of the tacky sap(?) on his hand.
Only this time, he has to pause and frown. It's not washing off.
"Um."
None of his pokemon are out with him him this time so he doesn't' have anyone else to ask. More frantic scrubbing before he finally gives up. He can... maybe ask one of the NPCs about this. He was about to go visit Ash. Maybe she knew something?

Manish stumbled his way out of the woods to find a new Shrine. Or at least a Shrine he had never seen before. “Woah” he muttered as he looked at the tree. Even with his well earned fear of Shrines, he had to admit that this one was very cool looking.
He wasn’t really planning on spending a lot of time around the Shrines anymore, but he had to admit that he could use a little bit of healing. He carefully made his way up to the tree before gently placing a hand on the charred wood. Both Eggs crawled out of his sleeves to touch the wood as well to receive the healing.

This place was weird... But he needed to get some of his HP back. Those battles were really no joke when it came down to taking care of those Pokemon... And he still had trouble catching more of them. Maybe he wasn't good at this at all.

It was with great reluctance that Alice trudged through Route 1, searching for the Noonlight Shrine that the persistent UI promised would heal her Pokémon to full health. She hated the feeling of having lost a battle that could've easily been one if she'd just gone through the tutorials before launching herself feet-first into a game she'd never played before. At least, not a game like this.
It was normal for Pokémon to be knocked out in the other games, but never had it forced her to see how heartbreaking it was to see your first Pokémon fall like that in the battle you'd cheerfully sent it into... She bit her lip as she carried her unconscious Chikorita up to the Shrine that came into view. She'd just be grateful if Stella still wanted to be on her team after this. She stepped up to the Shrine, every footstep somehow making her warmer until she touched the rough bark of the massive tree that loomed before them.

Here she was again, except this time under much more pleasant circumstances since her Pokémon hadn't fainted.
That didn't make the atmosphere any less uncomfortable though.
"Glad I was unconscious when you took me here," Stella complained as they moved toward the towering tree whose touch would heal all of them.
She rolled her eyes. "I guess as a Grass-Type, you probably don't like feeling hot, huh?" She picked up the Chikorita - his leaf was fully drooped against his back as if it couldn't hold itself up any longer. "This is our last stop before we head back to where all the tutorials are, so just survive the next few minutes." Her voice had a teasing lilt to it.
Before long, she was leaning down to touch the Shrine.

Manish approached the shrine with his normal level of shrine related anxiety. But out of all the shrines he’s seen lately, the Noonlight Shrine was probably the least offensive. Weird tree? Yeah, he could handle a weird tree. It was better than a giant hole or well, just a giant shrine in general.
“I just don’t get it. How do we keep ending up with cats? I don’t even like cats.” Manish groaned as he scrolled through his inventory.
<Brzzzzzzt.> Cereal buzzed angrily from his arms.
“Wait, no, that’s not um, that’s wait. Okay, no, not you. Cereal. You’re the uh, the exception? I mean, come on. You’re uh, you’re great? And that’s not even the mind control talking!” Manish tried to appease Cereal as he got close enough to the tree to touch it.
<Bzzt.>
“Right? And I mean, you haven’t even uh, tried to kill me? Or I mean, at least I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure if you um. If you wanted me dead, I uh, I would be?”
That seemed to calm Cereal down enough that he returned to his normal low levels of constant droning. Manish secretly still thought that all cats were evil.

NOONLIGHT SHRINESomething has changed.Autumn isn't a state of being, it's a process. An ebbing of life and warmth as the world settles in for months of cold.
Autumn is dependable. Expected. It can't be hurried in or shooed out early.
But some things can be, and as Finnegan Fjord carelessly swats away another UI popup, he sets events into motion. And as the Briar Beast rises in the attic of Chadwick's family home, he unknowingly sends cascades of leaves tumbling from the Shrine on the other side of Asper.
Blackened, sooty bark falls away from the trunk of the Noonlight Shrine, revealing clear, ancient wood underneath. The tree stretches out, fresh green buds popping at the tips of its branches. Whatever darkness that had afflicted the Shrine has moved elsewhere, along with the power that it once held.

They were exhausted, but at last Fairytale had reached the nearby shrine. Time to see if these really worked as stated.
Fairytale inhaled and exhaled in the Shrine atmosphere, and suddenly they got feel themself regaining Tall Grass HP. For a moment, it was rather peaceful.
Then they remembered they had a Deerling to fight, and their grimace was back. They nodded at their two pokemon. It might be nice here, but it was time to head out again. They had a goal to accomplish.
