BATTLING GUIDE

COMBAT CYCLE

1. An enemy appears!
2. You send out between 1-3 Pokemon to do battle (maximum 6 on-hand).
3. Each of your Pokemon uses one of its moves— ideally, a supereffective one!
3. You roll a number of dice to attack and deal damage. Depending on the Pokemon, they may get extra bonuses.
4. You hit automatically, dealing damage to your foe's HP.
5. For each dice you roll, your Pokemon loses -10 HP from the strain.
6. After your turn, the enemy may make their own dice roll attack(s).
7. Your Pokemon cannot avoid being hit, but there are CORE ABILITIES for each class that may help reduce damage.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

UNOVR uses an original RPG tabletop system to simplify most Pokemon mechanics!
1. A Pokemon's HP, Damage Dice, and Moves are dictated by a Pokemon's Class Skill Tree. There are three Pokemon Classes: Tank, Sweeper, and Support. A Pokemon must be equipped in one of these classes to receive its benefits!

2. Pokemon's movesets are from the most recent main-series game they appeared in (Scarlet/Violet, Sword/Shield, or Sun/Moon). PLA:Arceus may count if the Pokemon is Hisui-exclusive.

3. Supereffective moves give a +20 BONUS to attacks! Ineffective moves have no penalty.

4. Apart from their move type (e.g Fire), Pokemon Moves are essentially descriptive flavor.

5. There is no limit on how many moves a Pokemon can know.

6. There are no Pokemon Abilities (i.e. Static, Overgrow) on UNOVR.

7. Attacks on UNOVR always hit— this goes for both sides, so be careful!

8. Each Pokemon species has an assigned Rarity, which provides a small bonus in combat.

9. Evolved Pokemon have no inherent advantage on UNOVR— we want players to take even their baby Pokemon to battle and emerge victorious!

10. Mega Evolution lasts 3 posts. While Mega-Evolved, the Pokemon's Rarity increases to legendary (+20) and all attacks are considered Supereffective. Gigantimax Forms are also considered Mega Evolutions on this site.

11. Z-Moves can be used once per thread for an additional one-time +20 BONUS.
