BETA ISLAND
"This island... it is not a bug...it is... a feature."
Accessible only by Commuter Pass,BETA ISLANDis an island off the southern coast of Asper and was the original testing grounds for UNOVR's early North America release. The island was populated exclusively by starter Pokémon until the HIGH TIDE RAID, during which many of its original residents were deleted by the game AI.
Beta Island is composed of three distinct areas: A BRANCHING CANOPY (jungle) A BRIMSTONE CRATER (volcano) and A BEAUTIFUL COASTLINE (beach). All three areas bear digital scarring from an attempted mass deletion. The Crater was least affected, while the Canopy is to this day only partially intact.
Modern visitors to Beta Island may marvel at the remarkable "unfinished" look to some parts of the landscape, where glitches and blank game tiles (particularly around the former HIGH TIDE SHRINE) have created unpleasant zones of broken code and error messages.
Hydance has no current plans to resume development on Beta Island.
NOTABLE PLACES
Beta Island Trade Shop - Owned by Beta Bethany, this trade shop is a (Kickstarted) Dance Zone filled with flowers, ethnic music, and various forms of Oricorio. Since the players left, Beta Bethany rules the island, dancing day and night.

The shrine was activated by manish 's repeated presence, summoning a massive STORM and eventually Kyogre itself. TheBLUE ORBwas originally discovered by Kath Ulu 's Treecko and was eventually reclaimed by Kyogre thanks to player effort.
Bedrock Shrine - Located in a cavern beneath Beta Island, this once-secret area hosts theRED ORBof Groudon. Having spent its power on a player boon during the High Tide Raid, this shrine is now depleted. However, due to residual energy, Pokemon may still be changed to their Alolan Forms in this location.STORY QUEST
PROFESSOR ASH'S ENTRY
Based on first-person accounts, the storm was caused by the legendary Pokemon Kyogre, who had returned to claim the Blue Orb from the High Tide Shrine. If I have my local folktales straight, the shrine was originally built where it was to hide the Blue Orb from Kyogre's knowledge. It seems trainers repeatedly visiting it attracted Kyogre's attention, resulting in the conflict.{READ MORE...}The Legendary Pokemon was more powerful than even the legends say: trainers reported it being practically invulnerable to attack, and taking on even ghost-type features as it was able to pass through solid material. However, an unknown factor—a Porygon named "C0D13"—seems to have been able to destroy the legend against all odds.
I do not know how this was possible, but after eliminating Kyogre, this Porygon absorbed the power of the Blue Orb and purportedly used it to try and 'delete' Beta Island. All trainers I interviewed used this term, perhaps because of Porygon's computerized nature. I have been unable to visit Beta Island to confirm the destruction with my own eyes, but I saw one of these 'drones' eat through my table and assume the damage is significant.
The final account is the most intriguing to me: the trainers discovered the secret Bedrock Shrine beneath Beta Island, boldly sacrificing their Pokemon at the shrine to awaken its latent power. I can only assume the Bedrock Shrine was placed where it was to hide it from Groudon, as Kyogre's was. However, the response is not consistent. Groudon did not appear, only its voice and power. Perhaps the different lies in the method used to awaken it: repeated contact vs sacrifice.
However, I shudder at the thought of what those people and Pokemon must have gone through. The Everworld does not let its spirits escape unchanged. Despite its obvious benefits during this battle as seen, I believe sacrifice is a dangerous and immoral road to power. I of course understand this was an emergency situation, but something doesn't sit right with me about what happened.
More data is needed.
