If it wasn’t one thing, it was the next.
Pale golden orbs widened at the sight of the hundred of shimmering lime green worms, wiggling and shifting into something larger. It reminded her of the legendary, Zygarde. Its many cells coming together to form a beast of its own. Maybe, that’s what was happening. The worms forming something greater to fight back. However, it was slow moving and the hangry avian’s were about to back down.
Several pidgey’s screeched into the heavens, feathers ruffled ready to put up one last good fight. And even as the creatures sent hurricane force wings and pecks driven to poke your eyes out, Rhaenyra wasn’t about to back out now. No, she was here for the long run. Or at least, until she can go home.
Reaching into her jacket, the hybrid wolf woman plucked out another ball. Long silvery grey hair blew in the wind as she summon yet another pokemon to try and stop these pesky avians. The mudkip materialized within seconds, squinting when the wind battered his face. “Jethro…” Rhaenyra called out, fighting the wind and avians that started to dive peck at them, “Use rock smash!”
The water starter type gave a firm nod, little legs pushed him towards the nearest pidgey. And when he was able to get close enough for a hit, the mudkip launched himself into the air. He tucked his head, tail fin taking on the reddish brown glow as he aimed to rock smash his foes with all his might.

The Tower was getting serious now, and Jinx was into it.
Jinx had a feeling that for those who knew more about the Pokemon franchise, who had followed it closely since its beginning rather than just jumping into UNOVR on a whim one day, the way those glowing green worms were all lined up would mean... something. Probably. Were they a kind of Pokemon, something most players would have recognized all along? Was it something that had come up in the franchise before, having all these teeny tiny worms work together like this to create one giant image?
Jinx didn't know for sure. Jinx kind of liked it that way, truth be told. After all, these Towers were supposed to be an adventure, clearing the way to find out something new, and whatever was going on here, it was definitely the start of something new for her!
The Pidgeot were trying to pull some sort of last stand here, it seemed, and the wind blew so violently that Jinx was seriously worried that her small in-game frame might be lifted into the air or pushed against the cave walls by the sheer force behind them. But she could only think of one way to stay safe from their assault, one way that happened to align with the current prompt to boot...
"Skipper..." Was it just her, or did her voice sound small, weak, the sound of it quickly silenced by the unyielding cave walls? "Use Protect."
The Mudkip obliged, and the next time a Pidgeot darted to attack the small girl, Skipper was already in action, clearing the way and ensuring his Trainer's safety... and bringing them all one step closer to the finale, here, whatever that might be.

Aero was losing breath as she ran into a few more rooms. As she did, she noticed most lime-green worms started to swarm and combine together as they glowed in the same color. "Whoa. If it's the same as in Ultra Moom, then those little Zygarde-like things might mix together into the legendary Pokemon itself!" She scratched her chin while imagining the Pokemon she guessed. "Ooh! Maybe we might battle it if we go deeper."
However, she heard a cry that made her remember why she was running in the first place. "Oh, man! I almost about that li- I mean, that big rascal. I need to lose it before I become Pidgeot food!" She took out her Poke Ball and said, "Come on out, Coco! You're my only hope!"
Out came her Fire Croc Pokemon once more as he jumped on the Pidgeot's back. "Alright, you big birdy. Get ready to taste the power of Coco's Bite!"
Her Fuecoco followed his trainer's word by biting down on one of the Pidgeot's wings, causing it to screech in pain. This gave Aero enough time to escape while her Fire-type starter left the bird's back and on her shoulder.

Before them was a field of green and brown- the bright green worms were all melding together, spiraling further and further. But unraveling that mystery couldn't even be Silvermoon's focus-
The pidgeot had to be, all of the screaming and diving. Wind was ripping at them, and Silvermoon fought to remain standing. The birds were clearly trying to keep them from getting past, so Silvermoon knew they had to push through anyway- but-
But there were so many pidgeot in the way! Silvermoon grabbed at their bag, tossing out- Phoenix. "Do something!" They called, too disoriented to even know what to ask. Phoenix seemed unbothered by the violent winds, watching the circling pokemon intently. With a bright gleam in his eye- He knew what to do.

There's no CONGRATULATIONS, THE 99TH BIRD IS ALL YOURS TO BEAT TO A PULP banner, and there's definitely no confetti or cheering, but even someone as serious and ever-so-stoic as Muin can realize the importance of a moment like this one, especially when the game's notification upon his return to the Tree of Worms makes it all so clear for him: use a z-moveAnd so, serious and ever-so-stoic Muin smooths down his clothes, sighs, and looks upwards — up towards the pair of lonely Pidgeot that circles overheard with screeches of war, creating a hurricane while searching for a victim to swoop down upon. They know they're outnumbered but they won't give up; not now, not ever. Muin can appreciate their fighting spirit, but fighting sure won't save them. With a flick of the wrist, a Pokéball is lightly tossed, releasing a Rowlet that rises through the air. "Nin. Bloom Doom."<'Ooooooooo.... HELLS YEAH!'>In her rising excitement, she catches the attention of the much larger bird, but it's too late. The Pidgeot swoops down and Nin remains, energy gathering all around her. It grows and it swells, gleaming in a light as green as the worms that dance within its power. Here, among the roots of this tree, it's nature itself that wins; a declaration made by the huge explosion that comes when the Rowlet strikes a damn cool pose.

After hearing rumors about the Tree of Worms, Saint had opted to finally check them out. Having never explored a challenge tower before, he didn’t know what to expect.
He’s about a few minutes in when his leg slips, and the newbie screams as he’s sent tumbling down, the great tree’s roots, his entire path paved by moss, worms, and screaming birds in a sequence befitting of a Rube Goldberg machine, backed by the Benny Hill theme. Landing in the deep level’s pool only sends him further into the belly of the beast, as the flurry of attacks from other tower challengers drags him forcefully to the end.
He gets up on shaking knees, dazed. A massive Pidgeot comes hurtling towards him, death in its eyes, and he panics, tossing out his Vulpix, who pops out of the ball expecting snacks. Saint curses himself, realizing the tiny fox couldn’t possibly endure a head-on collision with this opponent. “Extrasensory!”
In a hasty move, the Vulpix gathers up all her psychic energy—
BOOM!
—only to yelp, sneezing it all out in a burst that shocks the Pidgeot into pivoting straight into the BLOOM DOOM’s kill zone.

You have defeated 10 Pidgey and unlocked Onix (U)!
Tree of Worms Floor 10: A Treemendous Worm! The last of the Pidgeot finally retreat, battered and beaten, and you are left alone with the giant, conglomerate statue. What once seemed like solid rock pulses with hexagonal cells, as if the worms sense the danger has passed.
The green tessellations ripple, and a pair of compound eyes open on the face of the giant worm.
Zygarde has awoken
"My form is whole," it says, speaking with the voice of a thousand. "I thank you all, for shepherding my children home." It slithers across the stony ground, multitudinous parts moving as a sinuous whole. "For this service, I bestow upon each of you-"
Zygarde is cut off as an equally massive shadow crosses the cave floor from overhead. A hawk-scream of challenge echoes through the chamber as the air is filled with flashing talons, glorious plumage, and the screech and roar of two final bosses locked in combat.
Mega Pidgeot has appeared!
The Final Pidgey moves with unfettered speed, wielding the wind itself as a weapon and driving Zygarde back into the darkness. Each wingbeat tears pieces from the serpentine form, scattering Zygarde cells across the floor.
"Assist me!" Zygarde cries, as it sprays volleys of earthen arrows at the final challenger.

Aero stopped running once the last Pidgeot retreated. She didn't know how long she was running, but she sighed in relief that she and her Pokemon drove out the last of the Pidgey line. But then, her attention when somewhere else as she noticed a new window popping up in front of her.
Zygarde has awoken.
"I knew it! I knew defending those green Zygarde-like worms and running from my life would lead me to the real deal!"
She then heard a thousand voices echoing to her and other players nearby. It seemed like their actions somehow (or unintentionally on Aero's part) protected Zygarde's "children". She smiled at the fact helping the Legendary would grant her a big reward!
At least that was the plan until a bigger and meaner version of Pidgeot appeared...
Mega Pidgeot has appeared!
"MEGA?!" Aero exclaimed. "Dealing with one Pidgeot was too much, but that one is overkill!"
She didn't hesitate about what she would do next. She took out her Poke Ball and summoned her Snom. "Try to taste your prey, birdie! Chom-Chom, use Powder Snow!"
Her Snom quickly blew a small snowy gust of wind at the Mega Pidgeot. It didn't deal much damage as she hoped for, but she prayed the other players have some luck against this Zygarde hater.
"Don't worry, Zygarde!" She called out. "We'll make sure you're well-protected!"

With the activation of the glowing green statue comes the true final opponent — the mother of all Green Worm.
Kazuki’s first thought is, 'Is that a giant fuckoff Caterpie?'
The giant fuckoff Caterpie is talking to them. Its voice is an amalgamation of thousands, haunting and beautiful at the same time, and also creepy as shit when you pair it with the beast’s writhing form. It seems to be trying to reward them.
Before the loot is dropped however, the most giant fuckoff bird takes the stage. The wind takes on the force of thousand flying swords, the sound of wingbeats deafening. Kazuki bares down as several gales rip across the battlefield, threatening to untether everything in its path, including Mother Caterpie. Small worms are raining over them, broken off from their Mother, and slapping the shit out of the challengers.
Through the struggle, he manages to release Buizel from her ball. He curses, having meant to grab a bigger pokemon but—actually, he could use this.
“WEASEL! YOU STILL HUNGRY?” he yells over the windstorm. Buizel seems confused for a moment, until she spots the biggest serving of raw turkey she’s ever seen.
<Oh, fuck yes,> she grins, teeth flashing as she drops down to all fours, finding traction against the wind using her claws and the sheer power of her gluttony.
“GO!” Kazuki calls, only to hear a RIIIP. “What the fuck?”
Buizel has ripped off a chunk of his pantleg, tying it tightly around her neck like a bib. She wishes Pansear was around; she could ask for sauce. Regardless!
The brave little Buizel goes zipping forwards, flipping off trainers and pokemon, and breaking acrobatic records as she makes a mad dash towards The Main Course.
Launching at the Mega Pidgeot to the internal tune of Ave Maria, Buizel opens her jaws and takes a very hearty BITE.

Verai did not know what Zygarde was- he had never seen or heard of it before. But he knew now the way the legendaries spoke. And he knew he had to act.
It felt almost comforting, in a way, to stand at Zygarde's side, both Aero's and Kazuki's voices swirling around him.
The massive bird appeared, spreaming and rage and wind, shoving everyone back and culling voices from the creature.
<Is this who you want to be?> Ya'ath watched him, unblinking, as he took the sword in hand. Verai didn't answer, focused on the sound of battle and commotion around him, the battlefield laying itself bare for him.
He lunged, avoiding the other pokemon, the crashing of earth, and leapt high enough to strike at the bird.

Ah, it just couldn't be nice and easy, could it? Just when Zygarde is about to bestow glorious rewards upon them (and best believe there's few things Tuesday loves move than the sound of that), one last opponent appears — a mega evolved one this time. She's almost disappointed there, but the sight of a new and potentially difficult challenge brings a smile upon the Alchemist's face. "Fuck yeah, I'm in the mood for some fried chicken."From the depths of a Pokéball, a legend much different from Zygarde is released, appearing with a deep bellow that feels as resonates through the entirety of the tree. The Kyogre sizes up the Order Pokémon as if attempting to determine if it would make a good opponent, but then Tuesday points at the bird everyone else is attacking. Another day, Legion."Legion, let's bring down that Pidgeot."She smirks at that, and it's then that the teenage legend gives the Pidgeot one of its own serrated and potentially terrifying smiles, dozens of sharp fangs shinning pearly white — Tuesday takes good care of Legion's dental hygiene, as any good poké-parent would, thank you very much! Naturally, a WATER PULSE is created by the Kyogre when it smiles, rippling through the air with a minty fresh scent and tossing the Pidgeot back. "Ha! That's what I'm talking about!"Kyogre uses WATER PULSE

Rhaenyra stood tall as she watched the remaining avian flee for their lives. Wolf ears forward and long tail flickered back in forth, simulation a canine’s wag of a tail. Finally, they have beaten all of the enemies and had won the right to claim victory. She took in a deep breath, only to let it out in a sigh of relief. But as the last bird fled, the massive statue began to pules with energy. A single brow rose, curious as to what was going on. Her pale golden orbs meet the gaze of the compound eyes as they opened. Now what?
ZYGARDE HAS AWOKEN!
The woman blinked, speechless. What sounded like thousands of voice rang out, thanking them for helping and offering what sounded like a reward for all of their work. However, the zygarde was cut short by loud shrill of a screech. It startled her, the wolf hybrids gaze flickered to find the source. It wasn’t hard though, both a prompt and the sight of a pidgeot in its ultimate form was indication enough.
MEGA PIDGEOT HAS APPEARED!
Cursing under her breath, the woman reached into her pocket as hurricane force winds roared through the place. She grabbed the first sphere she could, releasing whatever it was to attack the final boss. The steel earth worm materialized within seconds, glaring at the bird that threatened its existence not that long ago. Rhaenyra wasn’t expecting the orthworm to be the first thing she grabbed, but accepted it either way. She didn’t have time to be picky, she needed to fight. “Use mud-slap!”
The steel worm dug into the ground, only to resurface a second later with much more vigor and cheeks full. It took in a deep breath, mouth parted to send thick globs of wet mud at the mega pokemon.

Ohhhhh. Zygarde awakening? Mega Pidgeot? The plot was starting to heat up here, and Genesis was loving it.
And while the current prompt was awfully specific, more so than a lot of the ones they had snagged previously, this one was definitely up their alley as well, giving them an excuse to use one of their newer Pokemon while they were at it.
"Amity?"
The Zubat faced her owner, and though the Pokemon lacked eyes with which to view Genesis, Genesis knew that they had the Poison-type's full attention just the same.
Now, what move to use... if this floor was like the previous ones, the exact attack used wouldn't matter so long as the prompt was fulfilled... but that was a big "if", and Genesis wanted to make sure they did as much as they could to keep things moving here.
"Try... Poison Fang."
It was almost comical, watching the little Zubat chomp down on the giant Mega Pidgeot's throat. Almost.

It looked like Fairytale had chosen a good time to stop by the Tree of Worms. Not because of the Mega bird, but because there was a legendary, and they knew what that meant. Conveniently enough for their grass-type using self, all they had to do was use a green pokemon.
And so they gave their typical faux-grin and called out Aries the Whimsicott. They could have called out Padma, also classified as green by the pokedex, or another of their grass types, but...
Well, none of those pokemon had a move with over 100 power, let alone two, and Fairytale was feeling like doing some damage. "Aries, use... Hurricane."
Aries might be a shy worrier, but in a fight, he was pretty decent. He followed orders pretty well, too. So that was exactly what Aries did.[ Prompt 108: [zprompt]jWBSJviG1d1001d100

God damn this game had a sense of scale and grandeur beyond anything Orion had ever experienced in his life.
Thinking fast, Orion reached into his pocket and pulled out a ball. "Time for you debut bud! Come on out, Troy!" With a flash his maschiff appeared at his side, a slight chuckle wheezing from his lips as he took it all in. After all, if they were duck hunting, what better mon to use than the spitting image of that duck hunt dog?
"Watcha need boss? We frying that big turkey? Or the Green dood?" "The big turkey. I need your eyes and an extra pair of hands to smack him down." "Gotcha boss! I'll see what I can do."
The Mega Pidgeot wheeled around for another attack, and the fighter and his warhound rushed it. Troy, slightly faster than Orion, managed to land a good ole Lick on the bird, inflicting paralysis and slowing it's speed, allowing Orion to land a solid thunder punch into beasts beak before being blown black by the hurricane force winds it's charge had provided.
"FUCK!" Orion snarled. "You ok bosse?" Troy howled over the wind, looking towards his trainer. "I'm fine!" the fighter growled as he righted himself and scanned the skyline for the bird.
This was going to be a long fight.
