They survive the desert pit from hell in relatively one piece, but Kazuki is refusing to let Combusken out of her pokeball after the last fiasco. Pignite has taken the stage instead, and suffice to say, he’s a little concerned.
<How does this work again…?>
<After the cheese balloon pops, cheese pours down into the track, pushing the toy mouse into the mouse wheel, and the mouse wheel will fill the bowl with pellets, releasing the giant KILL hammer!> A Patrat is hard at work on a portion of the trap, not seeming to realize its construction companion has already been deposed, and is now unconscious, upside-down in a pile of woodshavings. <Now to just get the hammer to release… AH-HA!>
A comically massive hammer comes zooming through the air, only to get repeatedly and brutally hit with palm strikes. It is thrown backwards, slamming straight into the wall above Patrat’s head, cracking it. Wide, terrified eyes stare at Pignite as flakes of wall shower its fur.
<Oh, sorry,> Pignite says.
The Patrat collapses from shock.

Silvermoon had crouched, puzzling over the contraptions ahead. They... they knew this game! They had played it, once, in school.
And seen the movie during a long road trip, but that didn't seem as pertinent here.
"Hey!" They eventually called out, several patrat looking up over the brightly-colored contraption. Silvermoon forced themselves forward. "We- we only just got here! You can't have the trap set up already, that's-"
"That's against the rules!"
Dandelion poked her head up at that, eyes black pits. <Rulebreakers!> She shrieked, almost gleeful, and began barrelling towards the patrat, who scattered like... um, like mice.

Rhaenyra was relieved to finally escaped the litter box, the smell was really starting to get to her. However, the feeling of success was quick diminished upon the other side. As she kicked the litter that clung to her boots, pale golden fell upon the colorful array of giant plastic traps. And beneath her feet, a shifty cardboard flat. What on earth was this now?
Several others play when on ahead, already figuring out the game. Recalling her pokemon and summoning another, the dragon worm materialized within seconds. “Come on Lagertha,” the wolf hybrid grumbled, “I think we need to follow the path without getting caught. Your agility should be useful here.” “Are you sure?” The dratini replied, weary in her tone, “It looks dangerous.” “We’ll be fine as long as we are careful and move fast.” The dragon let out a nervous cry, but nodded all the same.
“On my mark.”
“Go!”

After the horrid letterbox floor, Kallisto was all too glad that the smell had dissipated by the time they reached the next one, but this one was just as crazy looking as the last. Traps and contraptions as far as the eye can see, and both big rat and the small rat (okay, are they rats or moles or prairie dogs? He couldn't tell, but the game was calling them rats to pair with the Tower of Cats, so...) Anyway! That wasn't the worst part, actually. The prompt that he had been bombarded with didn't make any sense to him, but the game already did the work and greyed out whoever shouldn't be used to fulfill it.
To his horror, there was only one option: the fucking piranha.
The big and small rats were watching him warily but also hungrily, looking like they were ready to pounce. Cursing, Kallisto had little choice but to throw the Poke Ball as close as he could get to them (and as far away from him as possible). Out came a fish that flopped once, twice, and then suddenly became a whole other beast as it used that same move that terrorized him to the other Pokemon, teeth bared. With water magically appearing from its backside, it shot itself like a missile towards its targets, and it looked like it was having a damn good time. How it was deftly dodging the traps that activated while it was tackling enemies was both amazing and terrifying. PROMPT #85: [Tower]7uRNIr1p1d501d50

Lucille logged into UNOVR and was greeted by the lingering smell of the Cat Tower's Litterbox floor, which caused the woman's face to scrunch up in disgust. Lucille waving a hand in front of her face to waft away the offending scent as much as she could manage as she climbed further up the next floor of the tower. A floating lizard the size of a pre-teen human looked somewhat amused at her trainer's discomfort. A brief cackle leaving the Drakloak before she was met by an unamused glare from Lucille "I'm so throwing your Pokeball into a litter tray on the way back, you know that right?" This only made the Drakloak cackle harder, curling into itself as the laughter took over.
A brief exhale left Lucille's nostrils as she playfully rolled her eyes at Byleth, since Evolving the Drakloak had come a long way from the clueless and child-like Dreepy that she knew, but she had also become a mischievous little ghoul who liked to cause trouble and drag her mother-figure into less than desirable situations.
"Dragon Dance." Upon command Byleth began to wiggle, her body gyrating as purple energy began to surround the draconic pokemon's form, tiny sparkles of gold began to intertwine and coil around the tendrils of energy as it formed the shape of a dragons maw. Filling Byleth's body with energy before it dissipated altogether.

Skitty had been restless since their last victory in the Challenge Towers, and Verai had no choice but to acquiesce. The kitty hopped forward, jauntily, while Verai stood there, frowning as he listened to the floor. It sounded... chaotic, noise bouncing off oddly-shaped structures, the texture of them smooth, despite the prevalence of patrat. "Kitty... what is all this?"
<Iunno!> The cat squeaked, continuing to hop forward- freezing as something loud clattered, a plastic-blue cage rattling down atop her. She then began shrieking in distress, little legs batting through the wide bars of her cage. <Help- HELP! Let me out! I'm trapped forever!!!>

The wacky, cartoon-esque, and doubtlessly dangerous-looking "obstacle course" is no surprise. In fact, it's exactly the kind of thing Muin had come to expect when thinking of the challenge towers. It's a considerable upgrade from stumbling around on kitty litter, nevertheless.
"Be careful where you step." He warns Luise, his Leafeon, yet this warning is quick to fall on deaf fears when the green vulpine chases a Patrat up a ramp, another sneaking behind her and pushing her down with what can only be considered a cartoon villain's laugh. Luise falls into what appears to be a cylinder, trapped among endless webs of elastics.
<'Wah! That's no fair, I'll get you!'> She declares. But, how? She's trapped.
Well... That sure doesn't stop her from shooting Leech Seeds at the Patrat.
Muin, on the other hand, sighs.
"Just stay there, I'll to come get you in a moment."

Jinx was a fan of these whole tower things, and this obstacle course was no exception. Sure, it made getting around hard, but that was the whole fun of it, testing the limits of your body and making sure you knew what you were doing and all that! It was a giant mess, but in the best way!
Though... it was hard to keep track of it all. Especially when having to keep track of all those prompts on top of the obstacle course itself.

Jinx was so lost in thought that she didn't notice the giant metal ball descending from above, about to land right on her head.
Thankfully, while Jinx wasn't paying attention, her Pokemon were. Skipper saw the danger and launched a Protect attack before the ball could make contact with the Marshtomp's owner, deflecting the ball with an odd metallic noise.
The noise caught Jinx's eye, and she looked up just in time to see the Protect attack in action... and to see the prompt change before her eyes, as Protect was an increased priority move, of the very kind that had so preoccupied her before.
"Oh. Hey. That's nifty." Jinx's words sounded casual, but as she watched the ball slow to a stop off to the side, she broke into a huge grin. "Nice one, Skipper. Worked out in more ways than one there!"

Galatea didn't seem too phased by the creaking floor, almost akin to cardboard - but the multicoloured and almost chaotic obstacle course...now that was a surprise - prompting a soft mutter of "Interesting," as she looked around at the strange little traps and knickknacks. Noting the prompt that came up out of the corner of her eye, the pale woman didn't know what to do at first. "Increased...priority?" She spoke aloud to herself. "What is that supposed to mean?" One of the...Patrat, she assumed, began to approach her, expression daring and almost preparing to be triumphant, prompting Galatea to start looking around. This didn't look good, this didn't look good at all, oh dear. 'Come on, Galatea, come on...think!' Suddenly, she spotted it. A plastic red cage, connected to a pole. And the red-and-yellow-eyed creature didn't seem to notice that it was underneath it just yet, eyes firmly on Galatea at the moment. An idea. "Romeo!" The Popplio was surrounded by blue water in an instant, propelling with his tail and slamming into the Patrat as hard as he could manage, sending it flying into the pole with a CRASH!
Popplio used Aqua Jet! With a satisfying clicking noise, the cage fell upon the mouse, trapping it. And with that, the prompt seemed to...change? 'So Aqua Jet was a priority move?' A shaky sigh escaped her, the stress from the situation leaving in an instant, and yet a ghost of a smile rested upon her face. 'That is...that is good to note!'

Tower of Cats Floor 9: ROOFTOP The final set of stairs leads straight to the rooftop, an open-air balcony with no ceiling, no walls, and a thousand-foot drop to the gravel courtyard below. Thick, pink bubbles fall from the sky like helium-filled yoga balls, popping as they land and covering the rooftop in sticky bubblegum goop. Yikes! Nature is clearly out of balance.
The last 10 Patrat are huddled up here as well to make their last stand, armed with all the plastic weaponry, litter box mysteries, and rec room supplies that they could salvage from the previous floors.
You have defeated 90 Patrat and unlocked GLAMEOW (U)! The final reward (Litten) will be unlocked at 100 Patrat.

Lucille breathed a sigh of relief, the last remnants of the litterbox floor's scent fading as she climbed higher up the tower with her fellow players. The last few floors were bound to be something else. A rooftop view and floating pink bubbles that exploded into icky paint-like gloop. Her Dragapult stared at the bubbles with intrigue, never encountering such a thing before in her life. It was almost tempting to touch one of them, but that would risk a rather time consuming clean up of her scales. Something which she wasn't about to put Lucille through. They had more pesky Patrat's to deal with, this time the rodents having opted to huddle together with whatever weapons were readily available for them.
Lucille motioned her head for the large ghostly reptile, a signal of sorts to use some kind of move. Byleth cackled with delight as her body shook with anticipation. Gleefully dancing back and forth as she launched dreepy-esque missiles one round after another. Her Dragon Darts soaring through the air at breakneck speeds towards the group of rodents with the goal of causing pain and misery. Prompt #91 : [Tower]3T22ygAQ1d501d50

This was it. Finally, the top of the tower. It has been a crazy fight to get here and it seems, it wasn’t quiet over yet. The sheer sense of being on the roof top with no safety guards was overwhelming, feeling the cool winds brush her cheeks and force her long silvery hair to dance in the breeze. Pale golden orbs wide, gaze lifted to see pink gloppy spheres falling from the sky. “What the-“
There was no time to gage a proper reaction. A pink sphere splattered on the roof top, thick bubblegum like goop splattering everywhere. Rhaenyra cursed under her breath, the thought of that stuff getting into her air didn’t sound appealing even a little. Reaching into her red jacket, the woman plucked out another sphere. In no time at all, the blue scaled dragon known as dratini materialized. “Quick, wrap one of the patrat.” Lagertha slithered up to one of the nearest patrat. It froze like a deer in headlight, giving the dragon plenty of time to coil her long slithery body around the avian and WRAP its body tight. Prompt #92 : [Tower]bbxB9Rzb1d501d50

The final stage, once again.
Kazuki squints at the sky, watching the hail of oversized bubbles come down upon the rooftop. Less dramatic than the final encounter at the Tree, but just as strange as the last few floors. He’s just glad it isn’t cat litter that’s under their feet.
The last army of rodents are lined up with their improv equipment, trying to look tough despite having to fidget around to avoid getting covered in goop as well. It makes the group look like a flash mob.
A patrat breaks from the group as they are torn apart with binds and darts. Kazuki tosses out a random pokeball, Gyarados popping out, though his attempt at a ferocious entrance is ruined by immediately getting pelted with bubblegum.
<DISGUSTING,> the overgrown serpent whines, wiggling his body. The gum peels off the floor, clinging to his scales.
Kazuki waves his hand. “You’re due for a shed,” he says, ignoring Gyarados’ immediate retort—<I AM NOT A SNAKE!>—and pointing at the patrat, who has gotten its little feets stuck in a puddle of gum.
Gyarados takes pity on the creature. <FEAR NOT.> He reaches out with his tail, unleashing a small whirlpool to free his movements and wrapping around the creature to pull it from its gummy prison. <BE FREE, LITTLE ONE. DO NOT HEED THE CALL TO WAR. SWIM UNCHARTED WATERS AND — IT’S UNCONSCIOUS?!>
The patrat flops like a ragdoll in the serpent’s tail, its face purple.
Kazuki congratulates his pokemon with golf claps.

Silvermoon stilled, as they got to the rooftop, staring up at the sky and the pink gumdrop orbs that fell, slowly- and exploded on impact. What was going on?
The patrat were making a last stand- that was what was going on. Silvermoon looked as one of them jabbed at them with- a plastic piece of the rat-trap. Which now just looked like a sad, navy-blue basketball net. Silvermoon frowned at him. He didn't seem dissuaded. "Um-" They hadn't named the dratini yet, but tossed the pokeball to release them anyway. "Use wrap!"
The dratini looked at the little patrat, and made quick work of them, twining their lithe body around to hold him in place. They then yawned, tucking their head between coils. Now... it was time for a nap.

A breeze sways golden hair when the Alchemist knight steps onto the rooftop, a cloak of beautifully pearlescent white feathers billowing in air behind her just as a thoughtful gaze inspects her surroundings. Confident, she has a hand at her hips, the other holding an elegant black and gold pokéball. With all too well practiced flair, she goes on to release her final Pokémon for this tower challenge, but it's then and there that Tuesday finds herself pausing in the middle of the motion. ...What the hell?... The adorned sabatons of her armour are stuck in something... pink and goopy."...Ew."Nevertheless, Tuesday is always one to keep face, especially considering that when her attention fixes on the players around her instead of their annoying Patrat enemies, her cat ears perk up when recognising a few of those around her. "Hey, Silvermoon." She greets the friend that's standing closest to her, a smile illuminating her expression while she calmly brushes invisible dust off her armour. "Nice Dratini."This time, she does complete the motion and clicks the Pokéball open, a shiny Doublade emerging and floating right before her. Gloved fingers reach for the hilt of one of the sword, both of them unsheathing to reveal blades of bright crimson. Stuck in this bubblegum-like substance as she is, Tuesday may not be able to fight freely, but it sure will take much more than bubblegum to stop this Alchemist. "Tyrfing." As if passing sentence, the sword she wields is used to point at their target: the Patrat rushing to attack. "Corkscrew Crash."The second sword cuts through the air, spinning by will of its own and cutting everything in its path. Does it damage the balcony? Probably. Does that matter to Tuesday? Nope. She's just here for the sense of achievement in completing the tower again and the potential sweet rewards (a.k.a yet another cat). DOUBLADE USED Z-MOVE CORKSCREW CRASH
