Finger sandwiches? Abandoned on their tiny plates. Sweet tea? Spilled on the blue and white picnic blanket. Scones? Left half-smeared with jam and cream, never to be nibbled.
"There's no scene more devastating that an abandoned picnic," Buzzster said, shaking his head at the tragic loss of lunch. He his behind a massive tree, hoping to avoid detection by the hundred furious Beedrill that had swarmed their delightful picnic. "This is just like Pearl Harbor. Bastards came at us without warning or provocation. What do they even want?"
"Maybe they're hungry," Petal suggested. She had seen Beedrill drawn to fruits and flowers before, and the combination of sweet and fragrant picnic choices may well have been the reason for the insect invasion. She watched as one of the Beedrill stabbed a jammy scone with its drill and fed it carefully to another Beedrill.
Zac shook his head. "Nah, they're after something else. You can't trick a trickster, and this trickster's still got a few tricks up his trousers." Buzzster gave Petal a wink that suggested a far more robust plan than he currently had. "Okay Petal. Just follow my lead, okay?"
"Huh?"
Zac leapt out into the picnic clearing, where the smothering buzz of the Beedrill made the air quiver. "Hey! Look at me ya stupid insects!" Buzzster shouted. A dozen sets of compound eyes turned, boring into the redhead.
With a flick of the wrist Zac pulled a bouquet of fake flowers from his sleeve and tossed them high into the air. The insect eyes follwed the brilliant flowers as they arced high and fell right at Petal's feet. "Buh!?"
"Grab 'em Petal! Run run run! Draw 'em to the lake!"
"What lake!?"
"It doesn't matter, any will do! Just go!"
A chunk of the Beedrill swarm was already in the are, and they surged after Petal as she scurried away at top speed, fake flowers clutched in her sweaty vines.

One minute, Rhaenyra was enjoying their picnic with her pokemon. The next, utter chaos explodes in the rookery. Fresh food that woman bought for the nice day trampled on, smooshed and ripped apart. Ice cold drinks, knocked over and spilled. Even the nice woven basket was crushed, the blanket straight filthy and ripped in a few places. It was a disaster.
Yet in the mix of the chaos and the sight of the wild angry beedrill, Rhaenyra noticed multiple eggs scattered in their wake. The player hated bugs, even pokemon that looked like bugs. However, the wolf eared woman wasn’t about to pass up on free pokemon. Her gaze shifted over the many panicked pokemon and fleeing players, looking for an opening. And when she seen one, Rhaenyra charged forward.
“On me Izumi and Sosori,” the woman called out, darting towards one of the eggs closest to her, “We need to save an egg.” The fennekin and cyndaquil nodded to each other, chasing after their master with one taking one side and the other taking the other side. The player pressed on, a single large bug eyeing her progress and changing at her. Rhaenyra spotted it coming their way, slamming on her breaks to face her foe.
“Sasori and Izumi, ember it!” The lcyndaquil and fennekin took in a deep breath, waiting for the creature to get within fire range. And when said pokemon was within range, both fire type starters launched red hot embers towards the single bug. Their attack hit, singeing its delicate exterior and forcing it to flee. Luckly for her, she only had to go against one and a weak one at that. With that taken care of, the player called for her pokemon to follow her in hopes to grab the nearest egg.

Genesis... probably should have been less thrilled about this turn of events than he actually was.
But picnics, while fun in small doses, got boring quickly, Getting chased by Beedrills, on the other hand? Not boring in the slightest! And it seemed like a good way to potentially gain some Bytes, get their Pokemon some good training, maybe even snag a prize or two...
Provided. You know. They could manage all that without being stung or worse.
"Arecibo, Smack Down!"
The Frogadier cooperated, quickly flinging rocks into the air as his owner had commanded. Why a water frog could throw rocks was beyond Genesis, but the ability certainly was useful.
"Potoooooooo, light some flames, try to get their wings!"
The Ponyta launched flames quickly and enthusiastically... burning some of the remains of the picnic as well as scorching a few bugs. Whoops.
"Merdeka... hit 'em with everything you've got!"
Watching the Duraludon run wild, immune to the bugs' poison and not afraid to show it, was a beautiful sight indeed... even if it made the situation even more of a mess than it had been before.
Was the picnic going to end up back on track? Nope. If anything, Genesis' actions had just made that less likely. But more importantly, Genesis was enjoying himself again. This was fun.
Now, what would he be able to find for his troubles...

With Petal still running off towards the lake, Buzzster took some time to recombobulate. "We need a plan," he said, sticking close to Wolf and Genesis. "Let's work together. These Beedrill aren't going to defeat themselves, ay?" he asked, looking between the pair for facial cues. Buzzster wasn't very 'savvy' with Pokemon, and who knows! Maybe they're one of those ones that explode or like to fight each-other.
"You two seem to have the firepower down, so I'll lead the swarm over here. Funnel them in, so to speak. If they're all in one place it should be easier to wipe 'em out with a big attack!" Buzzster pulled a long trail of colorful scarves out of his sleeve and started waving it in the air. "Hey! Hey ya bloody great bugs! Come over here we've got warm orange juice and strawberry sandwiches!"
A horrid buzzing filled the air as The Swarm rose from the nearby fruit trees, drawn by Zac's loud voice and the promise of easy fructose. Dozens of massive yellow and black bodies descended on them, with fruit on their tongues and murder on their minds.
Now all they needed was a big attack!

Everything was chaos, both the people and pokemon. And even as the wolf eared woman darted towards the nearest egg, someone else manages to snatch it and run off. Rhaenyra grunted to herself, nearly stumbling over her own feet as she darted towards the lake with her pokemon by her side.
A red haired man called out to the two people closes to him, suggesting they should work together to get this under control. Pale golden orbs met his, giving him a single nod in agreement. Although normally the woman would rather do things herself being more of the lone wolf type, this might be her best bet if they want to get this done. He offered up a decent suggestion and the hybrid nodding, understanding what was being asked of her. Her gaze met Genesis, nodding to them as well.
She moved off to the side, two fire types at her heels. “Alright you two,” she mumbled to them, pointing to the mass of beedrill heading straight for them, “Get ready. On his mark, let your fire fly!” Buzzster Hooperham shouted, drawling the attention of the bug pokemon. Rhaenyra felt her heart race, waiting for the signal. Hopefully, this works. And once that cue was giving, the wolf eared woman shouted “EMBER!”

Holy crap what on earth was going on! She had come to some nest thing and set up a picnic with her new Torchic in an effort to get to know the little fire bird but, but but NOW! Now she was sticking running away from a stupid swarm of stupid giant bees! She hated bees in the real world where they were small and couldn’t skewer you with their stingers like a damn sword but her? Here they were giant and huge and would probably murder her if they caught her! She was small enough as it was damn it she didn’t need to get run through by a bee stinger. Pretty sure if those things get me I will die and I don’t wanna know what’s going to happen if that happens to me in this game! Would she be allowed to continue playing the game? Would she be a weird ghost trainer or something? The thought did lead to a rather interesting set of questions to consider later.
for now she would run away from bees!
It took… an unfortunate amount of time to outrun those things considering she didn’t have the ability to run quite yet seeing as she’d not gotten the shoes juuuust yet, that was an up and coming thing she intended to do: but this was supposedly a special event so how could she not go straight to it!
Myne smiled slightly to herself as she stood far off from the swarm of bees, golden orbs darting from left to right before quickly settling on the form of the eggs that had been left behind. Well damn now I need to try and get to some of those…. Wondering if attacking the bees would wooork… or spell my doom: probably spell my doom.
It seemed the girl was not the only one to ponder attacks as a slew of fire flew by, drawing the child’s attention toward what seemed to be some other trainers. Oh, oh there were other people here um…. Was she interrupting? Should she back off? Carefully the child watched the Pokemon and their trainers, eyes switching between the various Pokemon that seemed to be present.

Nephilim didn't particularly like bees.
He didn't particularly hate them, either.
But any flying bug was an absolute menace and a pain in the ass to kill. Especially with limited mobility. So of course he wasn't very keen on dodging a bunch of giant, human-sized, bees.
"Wukong. I'll need you to keep them away while we run. Got it?"
<"Got it!">
Getting in a motion to run. The pair crouched, preparing to sprint.
"One... Two...GO!"
The result was a team-up of somewhat epic proportions as they attempted to bypass the various beedrills. While the Chimchar burnt any that got too close. By the end of it, the pair were tired and panting. But hopefully holding an egg.
"Scratch that. I HATE bees."

Dustin heard the bee Pokemon before he saw them. Being allergic to them in reality, his fight or fight kicked in instantly. Cursing up a storm, Dustin scrambled to his feet and scooped up Amelia, darting away from the food. He tucked the little girl into his jacket, checking she was okay as he backed away. Some seem interested in the food, some in him and the other people.. but he noticed people going for eggs and raised a brow. Oooh... he got it now. "Okay Am, I'm gonna try to sneak close.. anything comes near and you spray it. I hate bees.. but don't worry, I won't let you go."

Lucille was enjoying a peaceful picnic lunch with her partner Pokémon... or at least, she was until the Beedrill nation attacked. Food and drink were flung this way and that as she scrambled to her feet just in time to avoid a dive-bombing insectoid. The buzzing growing ever louder in her ears as she scooped up her fire starter and made a break for it across the nest of the Rookery ❝Aymr if you could use an Ember that would be great!❞ There was a hint of panic to her voice as she panted between words, she really wasn't the most athletic person to exist. The Cyndaquil that she held close to her bosom wriggling free and climbing up to launch himself off of his trainer's shoulder. Flames licking at the sides of his jaws before he began to spit them towards the approaching bees, hoping to at least slow them down somewhat for his trainer to get a safe enough distance away.
Lucille noticed that other trainers were making breaks for various eggs that were scattered throughout the nest. Wait, was there something she was missing? Without a few seconds to think, she leapt for the nearest egg she could find. hopefully shielding it with her body from a swooping, human-sized bee.

It's a mess, chaotic as it gets, and it all has a vibe very reminiscent of outdoor meals on Summer days being ruined by wasps that are drawn to the oh-so-delightful aroma of food. Naturally, Yuze finds himself thinking the same thing Vera always thinks on days like those: The buzzing of their wings is damn annoying."Hmm... Back when I was a kid, we'd set traps with beer and rotting meat far from our house to keep the wasps away when eating outside, but I guess we can't exactly do that here..." He says to no one in particular, musing out loud. At least one guy ( Buzzster Hooperham) has a plan, and others hit the Beedrill with some decent fire power while many run away from what's definitely a common fear shared amongst many. What will Yuze do? Well... "Hey Tweedledee and Tweedledum." Those are not actually the names of the pair of Espurr that accompany the Specter, but Yuze hasn't decided on names for them just yet, so this will do just fine for now. "You can use your psychic powers to keep the Beedrill away from the eggs, right?"The Espurr nod in unison, holding hands, but being that they're not equipped in any skill trees right now, the best they can do is CONFUSE the Beedrill so that they potentially hurt themselves instead of anyone nearby.

Three trainers versus a swarm of Beedrill had been an uphill battle, but just as the picnic had seemed completely ruined a horde of snack-loving trainers had wriggled out of the woodwork to fight off the winged menace.
Gouts of flame from Wolf, @nephilim, and Lucille scorched the air, and blasts of mental energy from Yuze shook the swarm, as a secondary group of trainers sprinted into (or away from) from Beedrill, intent on grabbing eggs by any means necessary. Buzzster could respect anyone why put their body on the line for breakfast.
"That's the way! Give 'em hell!" Buzzster said, sliding closer to an ovoid protrusion he'd spotted at the bottom of a tree. A Beedrill flew in close and he pulled an armful of azalea blossoms from thin air and hurled them at the flying creature. He made a mad dash for the egg.

No egg.
Just a swarm of angry and slightly singed beedrill.
Of-fucking-course.
Cursing internally, the usually cool-headed trainer's temper grew hot. Boiling just under the surface. A tick appeared on his forehead as he barely contained his utter annoyance. "Wukong, scorch those beedrill as your life depends on it."
He muttered as the Chimchar looked at him with wide eyes. <"W-What?!"> Nephilim glared at the nearby giant bees with contempt. "Just do it!" He ordered with a growl as the small simian let loose a blast of embers at the closest scour of bees.
Meanwhile, the irate trainer began looking around for the slightest hint of an egg. Locking his sights on what looked like an egg-shaped object nestled in some brush some paces away - the young man made a mad dash for the egg. Hoping that with his Chimchar acting as a distraction. That he could help himself to an egg himself.

Nephilim sat down away from the bees and the chaos his Chimchar nearby. Eyeing the egg he watched and felt it shift and wobble to and fro once and a while. As time went by, it eventually began to emit spiderweb cracks throughout the hard shell. Afterwards the shell began to crack with visible cracks as light seeped out from the crevices. Before he knew it, the egg shattered and from it a pokemon appeared. As he looked at it in shock and awe.

The Espurr seem to do a decent enough job in keeping the Beedrill away with their Psychic abilities, allowing time for most other trainers to use far more effective firepower (literally).
Yuze watches for a moment, but truth be told, his attention is soon stolen away by something that rolls towards him and meets his black running shoes with a soft thud. When he looks down, he sees an egg painted in Easter colours.
"Damn, that was easier than expected." In all the chaos around him, he calmly reaches down, but as soon as it takes hold of the egg it cracks, revealing a very heavy rock. "The fuck?"
The rock pulls him down with force, almost crushing his poor fingers against the ground if it weren't for his Specter ability to go incorporeal, and be that as it may, he's all too quick to pull away, just in case.
A spirit cackles mockingly then. The spirit possessing the rock.
"Oh. Spiritomb. That makes sense."
Not a bad find at all.
