At the sound of Verai’s voice, Kazuki raises his head. He looks like death. Bored to death.

“Well, Ver,” he says, raising his hands, which were still being held captive in this wooden prison that he somehow can’t break despite shattering bricks in real life for fun and profit. “Sometimes people need to get their asses beat for overcharging crossbows. Busted shop or not, a million bytes is daylight robbery.”

And then he points a thumb to the bawling feline by his side. “And this one’s here because he wouldn’t quit wailing on another cat.”

<I don’t regret it!> Sprigatito wails, tears and snot dribbling down his face. <It was deserved! That Purrloin was so mean! And they started the fight in the shop anyways!>

“Then why did you make me capture it?” Kazuki raises a brow, though he can’t even stare his pokemon in the eyes since he’s in perpetual T-pose.

Sprigatito sniffs. <They deserve jail too.>

Kazuki looks back at Verai and, unable to shrug, simply wiggles his hands. “So now we’re all in jail.” He seems amused, despite everything. And a little curious. “Even you, for some fucking reason.”

“I could’ve! I was close,” Kazuki hisses, hands clasping loudly into fists. “The damn sheriff intervened before I could shove it into my inventory.”

He pauses upon having a pokedex shoved in his face. After shooting Verai a sneer, he takes the time to read the text and has to doubletake.

“Your pokemon?” He sounds absolutely scandalized. “I thought we already settled this! The cat’s mine!” He can’t believe this. He’s getting two-timed by a Tamagotchi.

Verai’s ignoring him, of course, instead pulling Sprigatito out, and rummaging through his stuff. Man, what a bitch. His favorite is a bitch- which tracks with his record.

“I was learning. What the hell are you up to?”

The notification pops up, just barely within reach of his captured hands. Kazuki blinks at it, before glaring at Verai. “If I accept this, are you bailing me out?”
