Fishing was something she never really liked to do either in real life or a video game. Even in the old pokemon games, Rhaenyra only fished to get a dratini game the safari zone. And even then, most of the time she got one through holding down the running button through the grass. It was cray to think how much technology has grown over the years of playing pokemon. And now, here the wolf eared woman was about to fishing in a simulation of a real life pokemon world.
Moving to the waters, pale golden orbs flickered over the crystal clear water of the coastline. Despite being so clear, it was hard to spot any water type pokemon from the naked eye. Queueing up her recent purchase of a fishing rod, the item materialized within seconds before her. Hands grabs the end, emitting a heavy sigh as it fell into her hands. Her expression remained placid, feeling the effects of her lone wolf play style in the vr.
Drawling her arms back and letting the top of the line droop behind her, a flick of her wrist sent the bait end of the string flying through the air. It splashed against the waters surface, sending droplets of water in all directions around where it landed. The bait sank below where her eyes couldn’t see, leaving her to sit and stare at the bobber waiting for it to move in indication that something was biting. Rhaenyra was here for one thing. Dratini, like always when she fished. |

Surprisingly yet not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for the bobber to move. And in that moment, her flat bored expression shifted into shock. And honestly, feeling the pull of the fish and her pulling back made her adrenaline start to pump. It sort of reminded her of the original first pokemon games. A bite game quickly. “Bet its a magikarp,” the woman mumbled to herself, thrusting her whole body back in an attempt to pull in the fish, “It’s always one of those. If not, a goldeen.”
Whatever it was, it really was putting up a fight. Was this what her little avatar in the pokemon games had to put up with? Like, dang! Rhaenyra huffed and puffed, really putting in the work to drag this stubborn fish closer to she could see what it was. And by the time she got the line in close enough to see, the shimmer of the green scales with a red line down the length of it gave a clear indication one what it was. The flat annoyed expression returned.
Sighing, the wolf human hybrid released the line. The creature flailed about, setting itself free and quickly fleeing from the scene of the crime. Again, the woman let her bait sit out there. The waiting game has officially started. At least, it wasn't a magikarp. SPAWN RESET |

Rhaenyra took in a deep long breath, chest cavity expanded as far as it could go before it was all exhaled. Pale golden orbs lifted to the wide open sky, admiring the cumulus clouds in the great big sky. How long would she be here for to get the dratini? Minutes. Hours. Days. Will she have to save the game and log off before she gets one? Bleh.
This was her least favorite part about fishing. The waiting. Just sitting, wasting your time waiting for something to nibble. If she wasn’t already playing the game, the woman would be playing one while passing the time. But alas, here the wolf girl was. Hands firmly on the handle, waiting. |

As her gaze observed the clouds in the sky and a cool yet warm breeze forced her long silvery grey hair into a graceful dance, a suddenly jerk made Rhaenyra jump and cursed under her breath. It had been at least ten minutes sense the last bite, almost completely forgetting that she was even fishing in the first place.
The sudden jerk made her grip the handle more firmly, standing up from her sitting position and placing her boost firmly into the earth. The line pulled hard, forcing the woman to take a step forward in brace herself and pull back even harder. Despite knowing the rarity of the dragon snake, the persistence of the fish trying to get away gave her that false hope that she snagged what she was looking for.
Rhaenyra pulled, spinning the dial on the line to pull this pokemon to the surface. After several minutes of struggling to get the darn thing to come it, the familiar shimmer of the orange scales made a her smile turn upside down. The hybrid cursed out loud, not caring if the game dinged her for profanity or not. And once the woman felt like she let out all her frustration out, she let the line go and the magikarp was freed. spawn reset |

A few minutes had passed sense the last nibble, leaving Rhaenyra time to think to herself. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Time to yourself was good. But alas, time to think to yourself while waiting for a fish to bite wasn’t what she had in mind.
Either way, the wolf eared woman turned her gaze to the clouds again. Mindlessly staring at the digital white fluffy things. Out of all the things she could be doing right now, this what she was doing. Fishing. If that dratini wasn’t worth it, like hell she would do this again. Hopefully, this time in will prove profitable. |

And just as her mind began to wonder, a sudden shifted in the line turned her attention back to what she was doing. Wolf ears twitched, standing up once again as whatever was on the other side pulled back hard. “If this is another magikarp, I’m returning this game,” she falsely proclaimed, secretly hoping the game makers were watching and listening and turn her odds into her favor.
The woman pulled the line in, fighting every last second to get this little fish in. And as it got closer to the surface, a shimmer of green with a blue stripe caught her eye. “Really.” Rhaenyra let out a heavy sigh, letting the line break and the basculin go. The hybrid grumbled to herself, sitting back down and recasting her line out again. “Come on dratini,” she whined, “I need you.” spawn reset |

Some time had passed once again waiting for another nibble. Pale golden orbs shifted from the calm blue waters surface to her surroundings. A heavy sigh escaped her, feeling her life waste away trying to find and catch the rare dragon type. However, the wolf hybrid knew this would be worth it in the end. At least, she hoped. |

A sudden tug on the line made the long silver grey haired woman jump, quickly reeling in the line in hopes her dragon had finally came. Rhaenyra pulled, really struggling to get this darn fish in. And at first, the white shimmer of scales caught her off guard. She ran through her memory, thinking of a white fish. Goldeen maybe. But as the fish got closer to the surface, the woman let out a heavy sigh. It’s a magikarp. Releasing the line, Rhaenyra let the fish go. Darn it. spawn reset |

A suddenly tug on the line got the bored woman excited. Rhaenyra was quick to pull the creature in, struggling once again to reel the pokemon to the surface. Brows scrunched, spotting the grey scaled. What could it be? Did it matter? It wasn’t blue. The woman pulled until she seen the familiar shape of a magikarp. She cursed, releasing the pokemon. In real life, Rhaneyra was often praised for her patience level. A person told her that she had the patience of a god. Well, it was times like these when she would laugh at them. Yes, the wolf eared woman had some patience. Perhaps, a little more than some. But like a god, no. Yet another heavy sigh escaped her, shifting herself in her make shift seat as she waited for an other bite. She hope and prayed, this dratini would be worth it. |

A tug on the line got the woman’s attention. However, Rhaenyra didn’t get excited like she has been. It seemed that Lady Luck was not on her side today. And as she pulled the fish in to see what it was, to no surprised it was just another magikarp. A pink one at that too. The woman grunted, letting the line loose and ultimately letting the magikarp free as well. Taking in another deep breath, Rhaenyra counted to wait for her prize catch. |

Mouth opened wide, hand instinctively rose to cover her mouth. A tired yawned confused her, brain demanded for much needed sleep. All of a sudden, the woman felt drained. It was getting late. Despite the sun in the digital sky, it had to be almost midnight back home. Rhaenyra sighed, pale golden orbs flickered to the waters surface. Whatever bite next, she was just going to accept for now. Of course, she hoped for a dratini but her hopes were low now. A heavy sigh escaped her. The wolf could almost try again later. |

A tug on the line indicated something has fell for the trap. Lazily, the wolf hybrid pulled the fish in. It didn’t seem to fight much this time. It could be a sign that it was something crappy or it was getting late for them too. And as soon as she saw the shimmering pink scales on the familiar frame of a magikarp, Rhaenyra cursed under her breath. Whatever. It’s bed time anyway.
Reaching into her pocket, a glaceon materialized within seconds. Icy glare was casted at the flailing fish, only to get splashed by water. Fenrir hissed loudly at the fish. “Let’s get this over with. Quick attack it.” The galleon’s body became encased in a white outline, body was forced to move faster than it was designed. He crashed into the wet fish, hoping to do some serious damage to the stupid thing. |
