[ti]spawn[/ti]SURGE STEPPES SPAWN <M'FOXY>

M'Foxy was in high spirits. She'd gotten a little guy, and either the Professor was unaware of her intentions... or more advanced than she thought. With a spring in her step and a bounce in her tails, she started wandering the steppe. "Steel-types, huh..." Sure, she could work with that.

With a fancy flourish, she let out the little treecko, who blinked sleepily at the world. "C'mon, Gex," She called, strolling forward, a woman with a destiny. "We've got a Professor to impress, and a date to secure."

The sound of tell-tale screeching fills the air, and Kazuki immediately drops whatever rock he’s hauling to grab Tepig and run towards it.

When he comes bursting out of the bushes, the first thing he sees is a hulking mass of steel hurtling towards a lizard, and a player with enough cosmetics to make him doubletake. At least it isn’t the ponyta masks.

“Alright, you little bastard,” he says, loading Tepig in one hand like a baseball. “You wanted to chow some metal, yeah?” Tepig wiggles his little legs for a bit, but upon seeing what might be his greatest opponent yet, he snorts in confirmation. And covers himself in fire.

“Hot, hot, hot!” Kazuki hisses, before chucking his flaming ball of bacon at the Duraludon. “ORDER UP!”

The fox trainer goes ahead and turns the target into a bonfire. The Duraludon roars, the fire spreading over its chassis, and in a bout of fury begins to slam wildly around with its metal fists.

Tepig is given no time to recover—sent flying off into the bushes. The treecko goes down, and with him, the other trainer disappears too.

But Kazuki is still there, and the encounter remains active. The Duraludon turns to him, its yellow eyes glowing with fury, before launching his way.

“Shit—” heavy, heavy, heavy! The Duraludon crashes into him, and rather than resist, Kazuki lets go of his grip on the ground and grabs it. With how its legs are built, the Duraludon doesn’t tip over easily, ruining the last-minute plan of grappling it, and after it rights himself, Kazuki finds the battle turning into less of a showdown and more of a rodeo.

“Will- you- just- hold- still!” He aims his fist at its face, his other arm holding it in a vice grip as the two brawl. It is, quite frankly, the dumbest fucking move to fisticuffs with a steel dinosaur, but until Tepig or the other trainer returns, it's on him to stall.

(Plus, he’d been waiting to fight a pokemon like this for ages.)

After M’Foxy’s dazzling performance and being immediately sent to meet the gods by an immeasurably angry Duraludon, Kazuki returns, having learned nothing.

“Put ‘em up!” He cackles. “Let’s have some fun!”

The Duraludon screams and attempts to murder him with its bare claws.

He does try to pay attention this time, realizing that fighting a pokemon is an entirely different ballpark than another fighter (which is astounding considering who he is and how long he’s been playing the damn game). He waits for it to finish charging at him first, and in the split second where it tilts forward from inertia, moves to roundhouse kick its head.

Tepig closes his eyes, not particularly eager to see his trainer break a hundred bones at once.

So, roundhouse kicking an obelisk doesn’t work. Who knew?

He returns just quick enough to hear the tail-end of M’Foxy’s rambling—something about Godzilla and growth hormones—before her lizard shoves his leg in its eye, snapping the Duraludon from its brief distraction and launching another frenzy.

It doesn’t even pause before pivoting and bulldozing straight towards Kazuki, who waits until the last second before jumping out of the way to send the dinosaur crashing into a rock.

Kazuki stops, raising a brow as M’Foxy takes control and proceeds to- actually, he’s not sure. “God-Slaying Spear?” He asks, confused as fuck and half-expecting her to pull a weapon out of thin air. Maybe she had unlocked Armorer too.

Only to watch her punt it in the chest. The Duraludon retaliates pretty quickly after that.

He waits until she lands close to him to ask, “What was that? I thought you had a weapon!” He stops with his hands in the air before squinting at her and her many ears and tails. “… It’s anime, isn’t it.”

The Duraludon charges at them again. He wonders if it’s possible to stop an angry mini-minivan and prepares to test the theory.

“They’re all manga first,” Kazuki rolls his eyes. At least, he’s pretty sure. He hasn’t really caught up with the culture these days. Astro Boy is probably still showing.

He snorts at the gun show. “Really turned up the slider, huh?” And makes an even bigger show of stepping in front of the moving automobile. He unfortunately did not have sleeves for dramatic effect.

Before he could carry on with his death freefall, he feels a harsh shove on his side. “What the fuck—” The crash happens and the fox girl puffs into dust, dying a heroic death.

Which is truly some bullshit. He did not ask for saving! The Duraludon comes for him, and he can’t even be mad, because now he’s intent on giving her a piece of his mind.
