rival FATGUT wants to battle!!! [tutorial]

About the time Allotta finally gets within slapping distance of Finnegan Fjord, a sick guitar riff starts to play. Some weirdo is, like, standing next to them, looking all suave and cool and smug and obviously wanting the two Trainers to notice him. Allotta, of course, ignores him in favor of her real rival.

"String bean! You're standing on my quest marker again!" She huffs, hands on her hips, puffing up her cheeks as if that could possibly be intimidating. Her foot taps on the ground in impatience. The 'Rival' quest pops up on her screen, too, overriding the Arena Quest she had gotten lost doing and then ignored.

"What the... Hey, I don't want to be your Rival! You're probably, like, not any good at this game!"

The real Rival opens his mouth to talk, all smug and suave, but is probably interrupted by the oncoming argument. Probably.

"Hey, are you-" The rival pauses his strings, reaching for Allotta's shoulder. She, however, is too busy arguing with Finnegan Fjord to notice such a weak peon. She tosses her long hair over her shoulder, a mocking 'ha!' leaving her lips as her hair slaps into the NPC. The fake rival. Her real rival was right here in front of her!

"I bet I would kick your butt sooooo hard! Like, you have no idea!"

She crossed her arms over her chest the best she could, cocking a hip to the side. Full of vim, vigor, and attitude.

"I got a super strong pokemon from the trade lady. Like, you would never be able to beat it!"

"Would, too!"

This was quickly devolving into a schoolyard argument. Next they would be talking about whose dad could beat up the other's. That was just how these things worked.

"I was in the tower, too, dumdum! I have those same pokemon!" Okay, maybe not exactly true. Allotta's physical body had needed to piss after the third prize was given out. When Kekoa had come back, he'd missed the next floor and the cool Espurr prize with it. It Finnegan Fjord didn't notice, though, she wasn't going to correct him.

She still takes out a pokeball with a dramatic eye roll. Dramatically, she tosses it into the air, catching the Wurmple in her hand. She brandished it like a knife, giving GUN a squeeze so it's Poison Stinger popped out like a switchblade. GUN's eyes were wide as it stared up at nothing.

"GUN here is the most powerful pokemon on my team! It, like, took out a bunch of pokemon at once with just one Tackle."

"Scary enough to kill thirty one whole Mudkip on it's own." She waves the Wurmple around in front of her, arm out stretched to push GUN into Finnegan Fjord's face for a better look. "Not just defeat, but kill." Seeing them rag-doll around had been pretty funny before they despawned.

"So, GUN is pretty much the strongest pokemon to ever exist. Even if you caught some pretty cool stuff, you would never be able to beat him all on your own."

The guitar riff starts again. A menu pops up on both Allotta and Finn's screen's, asking for a name.

Allotta types in "FATGUT" and submits it, quick, before Finn can steal whatever had just happened.

"Fatgu- ugh, why is-" Once again, FATGUT the RIVAL NPC is ignored.

The NPC is further ignored, Allotta not even giving him the time of day. Finnegan Fjord had given him that much and it seemed to encourage him, the guitar rocking higher, but Allotta just talks over the noise.

"What don't you-"

She's cut off by the guitar getting louder

"Ugh!" Now, she yells over the music instead. She reaches out a hand to try and snatch Finn's. "Let's go the Arena! It's too loud here!"

She shoots a nasty look to Rival FATGUT.
