So let the record show: Odile was an absolute sucker for the Eeveelutions. Yes, she was that girl. Yes she knew a lot of folks thought they were overrated or whatever and she frankly doesn't care! So when she first learned about Colossal Battles, she thought they were neat, but would she actually do them? She was erring on the side of no, until she had learned there was one with a Glaceon. Was it her favorite Eeveelution ever? No. Was it still one and therefore she had that immediate tug to try to obtain one? Yes.
So here she was, the icy winds cutting into her exposed cheeks, body shivering as she stood on one of the multiple pieces of ice floating around. Colossal was... right. She did not quite anticipate how big a truck-sized Glaceon would be, but oh, it was big alright! Maybe a bit too big! Maybe she should have brought... more than two Pokemon. Giselle seemed relatively fine, the thick wool coat protecting her from the ice and snow, but Mercurio shook every so often.
This was going. Going well? Probably not. But Odile was a trainer! Trainers battled Pokemon! Besides the one Patrat at the catching tutorial, she really hadn't done any real battling to speak. So if this went bad, well, this would be one big learning lesson for her. Pun included.
The Glaceon coolly eyed her, completely unimpressed. The winds seemed to pick up behind them, a howl beginning to sound. There weren't much in the way of actual snow in the air, but the skies slowly darkened, crystalline flakes falling more and more. The stage was set. Those flakes coalesced together, snow into ice, sharp icicles in the air that launched right towards Giselle and Mercurio respectively.
Glaceon attacks Mareep and Froakie with Ice Shard!iX|juvaG2d30Mercurio threw his little hands up, expecting to be pelted by the sharp ice, and he was to an extent. The Froakie cried out as he felt some meet their mark, but when he looked up, there was Giselle. Her little feet had skidded and slid to make it to Mercurio in time, cursing in pain as the side of her wool was caked in the ice. "Ugh, when we're done, please don't let this ice melt on me! It's going to make my wool stink!"Giselle used Guard! Mercurio takes half damage for one post. Giselle takes double damage for one post. "Pick on someone your own size!" Electricity welled up in the Mareep's horns, sparking and rolling over before charging in. Giselle knew she wasn't the fastest of Pokemon, but that did little to stop her as the ice assisted in getting to her goal; even if she might have skidded more times than she would like to admit. A glow overtook the lamb, and once she reached the sloe the Glaceon stood on, her head met the leg of the massive Pokemon. The Glaceon rose their front paw up, hissing in pain. Giselle attacks the Glaceon with Reversal!d50+30Rarity (5) + Super Effective (20) + Prompt (5) = 30 "Nice, good job Giselle! Mercurio, come on buddy, help her out!" Odile smiled towards the little Froakie, who quietly nodded. Sliding from the ice sloe, he dove into the chilling depths of the waters below them. The current hadn't been too powerful, small bits of resistance as Mercurio swam up. His eyes locked onto a piece of ice that was on the left of the gigantic Glaceon, and with a burst of speed he sprang out of the water. Bubbles formed in his mouth as he shot them at the Ice-type, smacking them on the side. Mercurio attacks the Glaceon with Bubble!3d20+45Rarity (10) + Prompt (5) = 15x3 = 45 ... Okay, you know? Maybe this wasn't going as bad as Odile first thought it might. Confidence girl confidence! "Nice nice! If we keep this up we'll be done in no time!" Ignoring all the damage taken of course. As odile would soon find out, her words carried the heavy weight of foreshadowing. Elegantly armoured, every step the Alchemist takes resounds through the arena, a cloak of pearlescent white feathers flowing beautifully behind her. She had come here to have a look at the shop, but as it turns out, as of late, browsing through the ongoing Colossal Challenges that are open for everyone to join had become somewhat of a habit for her. It's good exercise for her Pokémon and why not help a newer player along the way? She makes her selection based on how high the boss' current HP is, and when she steps onto the familiar ice floe, the coldness of the gargantuan Glaceon's stare is matched by her own. "Ah, so we meet again." Tuesday smirks, standing her ground on the ice despite how slippery it should be. Her golden eyes fix on Odile then, and a greeting is simply nodded. "Glaceon giving you trouble? No worries, we'll bring it down together."With self-assured words that seem to only fuel the Glaceon's rage, her Pokémon are released: a graceful Sawsbuck in adorned armour, a Whirlipede with steel plating of her own, and the sharp blades of a Doublade. Yes, they all have their own drip, but before there's time to even take the sight in, the Glaceon attacks all too swiftly, stars shooting out of its fur and towards the Pokémon that had just appear onto the ice floe. GLACEON ATTACKS SAWSBUCK, DOUBLADE, AND WHIRLIPEDE with SWIFT QunHFGEx2d30"STAND YOUR GROUND! Chariot, give me a better weather forecast. Tyrfing, cut the ice near Glaceon. Bartók, kick."Tuesday expects the plan to be obvious once her instructions are given, and within seconds, it is set into motion by her Pokémon: Whirlipede jumps up in excitement, yelling a single word up at the sky: <'Sun! Sun! SUN!'>. As if by willpower alone, she does away with clouds that brought promises of ice, bringing a SUNNY DAY to shine onto the floe — merciless sunlight meeting the ice with a scorching heat that is bound to melt its surface. Tuesday can see it clearly: drops of water begin to overtake the ice at their feet, while the Glaceon growls and presses closer to the gelid ground as if attempting to recoil away from the sun. Sadly, there is no escape for this colossal. WHIRLIPEDE ATTACKS GLACEON WITH SUNNY DAY 6d20+240Rarity(5) + Super Effective(20) + Sweeper Weapons(5) + Status Move(5) + Prompt(5) = 40x6 = 240 Then, without even allowing their enemy to recover from the shock, Tyrfing attacks next: blades flying quick and deadly through the air. In their flight, they AUTOTOMIZE, making themselves lighter and sharper before slashing through the ice by the Glaceon's side. It's like cutting through butter for the Doublade, and with each cut she gets closer to the beast... DOUBLADE ATTACKED GLACEON WITH AUTOTOMIZE 6d20+330Rarity(15) + Super Effective(20) + Steel Pokémon(5) + Sweeper Weapons(5) + Status Move(5) + Prompt(5) = 55x6 = 330 The cuts force the colossal to move unless it wishes to fall off this ice platform that seems to grow smaller and smaller by the second, but sadly for it, the Sawsbuck awaits, and its by way of a powerful DOUBLE KICK that the Glaceon's fate is indeed sealed. SAWSBUCK ATTACKED GLACEON WITH DOUBLE KICK 6d20+330Rarity(10) + Super Effective(20) + Steel Pokémon(5) + Sweeper Weapons(5) + Prompt(5) = 45x6 = 270 By the time the inevitable splash happens, the ice floe is so small that Tuesday is standing right next to Odile and her Pokémon. The Alchemist gives the stranger a smile then: confident and radiant despite the battle they just witnesses (or because of it, maybe). She offers a hand to shake. "All in a day's work, huh? I'm Tuesday, good to meet ya." GLACEON'S HP: -363/800

Odile's chin lifted up just an inch or two when she heard a voice she did not recognize, ruby hair swaying as she turned to view who it was. She looked something out of a storybook, a knight dressed handsomely as they came, a stunning glow emitting from her. The cold air was caught in Odile's throat, unable to speak for a moment as she simply stared, all but starstruck. It was only by the Glaceon growling was she able to snap out of it, a hand coming to push some hair behind an ear as she nodded rapidly, as if making sure her head was still screwed on properly. "Oh thank you! I really appreciate it...!"
Even the knight's Pokemon were armored, steel shining silver amongst the snow. It made Odile acutely aware of how much she seemed to be lacking, her outfit looking far too casual, far too... unprepared. A hand rested on her chest, stunned into silence as dignifed knight commanded her Pokemon with an ease that made her own attempt look juvenile. The sun broke out from the gray skies above, warmth flooding the arena by the Whirlipede's will. The Doublade's swords flashed as it cut the melting ice, and just when the Glaceon was about to abandon the sloe it was on for another, it was met with the powerful hooves of the Sawsbuck. In that fell swoop, the gigantic Glaceon was defeated.
She made it look so, so easy.
Embarrassingly so.
Violet eyes blinked several times, like camera shutters as the knight—Tuesday, what an interesting name—introduced herself. It took a moment of processing for Odile to answer, her hand being the first part of it as she graciously took Tuesday's. "Nice to meet you too, oh my god... I'm Odile. Uh... you are a player right, and not some sort of NPC right?" Just had to ask, and she had meant that as a compliment. She moved and commanded in a way that almost didn't seem real. "That was amazing...! I've never seen anything like it before! You took out the Glaceon so fast, I didn't even think it was possible to do anything like that!"
In Odile's gushing, she failed to notice her Pokemon, the knight's glory absorbing all of her attention, a sunflower to a sun.
She failed to notice the sparks bouncing off of the little lamb, electric ticks flying. And was she ticked.
"YOU!" Giselle cried out, body shaking uncontrollably. "How DARE you! How DARE you show yourself to me!"

Don't judge a book by its cover, people will often say. But, Mars has always been of the belief that books should be judged on everything they are (carefully selected cover included), and as Tuesday had come to conclude during her first months in UNOVR, an avatar's appearance can say a lot about its player. Oftentimes not about what they look like in-real-life, of course, but about what they want others to perceive them as. odile's avatar is beautiful, and there's nothing about the way she acts that tells Tuesday that she's not used to this beauty. There's horns and purple eyes, both undoubtedly unnatural, yet also adding a certain edge to her appearance. Choices meant to look cool. Relatable, considering that Tuesday herself is also composed of many choices of a similar kind. "Ha! Believe it or not, you're not the first person to ask me that." The Alchemist knight lets out a laugh, her smile displaying a string of perfect pearly whites. A hand rests on her hip, the other calling her Pokémon back to the ether of her storage with a Pokéball's simple click. "Odile... Like in Swan Lake? Cute name." Mars has always been a bit of a fan of classical pieces, which inevitably also leads to him knowing a thing or two about classical ballet. Of course, this much goes unsaid, Tuesday instead being quick to return focus to the game. "You're new? I don't think I've seen you around before. Colossals are a great way to practice battle strats, you were doing pretty g—..."Just when Tuesday is praising her, she's forced to pause. Why? Well, because of a lamb that looks like any other lamb she's seen in the game before. Just as angry as the ones that get in her way in the Surging Steppes too. In fact, perhaps even more. Hmm... "Hey." She addresses Odile one more instead of Giselle, as if she doesn't consider the Pokémon worth talking to. "Your sheep's kind of sassy, huh?"And then, she chuckles, finding it all to be hilarious.

Not only beautiful but smart to boot too? Didn't she have the complete package! "You're the first person to make the connection, yes!" While, in truth, Claudia knew she more so fit the persona of Odette (been cast as such before), Odile just seemed to fit better here. A battle of aesthetics, but Claudia thought she pulled it off. Odette and Odile were often cast as the same person after all. Two halves of a whole.
"And yeah, I am new! This was actually my first real bat—"
Her words cut off as Giselle made herself known, head turning to see the sparking sheep. Mercurio hopped, moving himself in front of Giselle, little arms outstretched as if to stop her. "Hey, Giselle, relax..."
"Relax?! With her here? Are you kidding me?"
Through the (relatively) short time Odile's had her, she had never seen Giselle act in such a way. The little lamb could jump the gun, yes, but never like this. There was... a small theory in her head, but Odile was going to hold onto it for right now. No need to jump to conclusions immediately when they already had someone doing it.
"Uh... she has a strong personality." Yeah, that was a good way to phrase it. As her Froakie tried to corral the rowdy Mareep back, Odile turned her attention back to Tuesday. There was an odd taste in her mouth now, that worm of a theory wiggling in her head. "I-I didn't expect her to react like that, uh... it wasn't too long ago that I got her from the Everworld, actually..."

"Oh, am I?" She's proud when odile reveals that she's the first person to realise the meaning of her name, because things like names and meanings matter greatly to Tuesday. For a second there, her smile brightens. "I like that, though. Your avatar is gorgeous, the name really suits you."Yes, she knows that this may as well be what the woman before her actually looks like (horns and purple eyes aside), but it's still the truth all the same, and Tuesday feels no shame in giving compliments. The real shame here is that the time for compliments and pleasant conversation is cut short, all because of a lamb that really is so damn sassy. Wait, lamb... "Uh... it wasn't too long ago that I got her from the Everworld, actually..."Listening to Odile's explanation, Tuesday stares at the Mareep now with sheer curiosity, leaning in close as if to get a better look at it while a Froakie desperately attempts to restrain it. She knows that she has nothing to be concerned about here: the rules of the game state that a player's Pokémon can't attack another, unless engaging in an arena battle against someone who has the Player class equipped, that is. So, she stares, pondering. "Ah, so it's you." She finally says, a smile returning to her lips. A smile that as warm and unbothered as it is unapologetic. "It's good to see that you're doing well."Is she oblivious to Giselle's obvious hatred? No, but she's choosing to ignore it. That hatred is misplaced, obviously.
