As the seasons rapidly passed inside the TOWER OF DOGS, Josh shivered, not expecting to have need of winter gear. He sat in the Dewgong's saddle and cuddled the large swimmer for warmth, not for travel. The warmth from within kept him from freezing to the point of blacking out.
As the seasons shifted to Spring and the heroic dogs returned, Josh shivered a second time, not from cold, but from fear and awe at the legendary heroes' howls. Those were enormous dogs. And fast ones. What a thrill it would be to shoot across UNOVR on one of them. A thrill he would not be able to experience for a long. long time, even if he were to acquire one of them for himself.
With the Wooloo moving too fast to chase down individually, Josh needed some kind of area attack. Withdrawing his Dewgong for Xira, the Yanma hovered in one corner, Josh taking cover behind him. "Xira, use your SUPERSONIC to try to corral them!" Josh ordered. The Yanma's wings screeched loudly, loosing a sonic burst with the intent to group them into the opposite corner.

In his case, he’d left (was that even possible?) the Tower of Dogs so he’d missed the entire ‘seasons changing’ shenanigans that had happened in its interiors.
When he saw the server-wide alert that the place was open once more, he immediately made it a priority to go there, warping as soon as he could and going to where…
And swore.
He fucking swore.
“Tempt me with all these Wooloo, why don’t you?!” he would wail; seeing the white balls of fluff. Played only until Generation Six he may have, however when the drip marketing for Generation Eight came out with these ovines. Well.
He was all over them. They were just THAT CUTE, okay?!
Anyway.
Seeing that the Wooloo were rolling away, he sighed.
“You know, chasing them around when they’re rolling away from you means they don’t like you! Let me try.”
From within his pockets, he would pull out one of the newer companions; sending out a strange-looking apple that had a stick stuck into the top of it…
“Go help with the herding, but don’t hurt them!”
He would get a squelching noise in answer—huh, was this one non-verbal too—before an Energy Ball startled one of them that was about to jump the fence!

The sudden change in season caught Wolf off guard. In a blink of an eyes, the stunning array of fall colors giving way to a blanket of white snow only to melt for fresh green spring. For a moment, the player wondered what was going on. Has time past that fast in real life or was this just so they could continue to the next stage without waiting?
Regardless of what the real answer was, a calling howl erupted into the sky from the Zamazenta only to be echoed by Zacian. Both fell silent when they realize players have returned to the dog park, the sword canine asking for their help once more while the shield canine asked for more balls. A single brow rosed, still puzzled but didn’t question it. Fortunately for them, the canine’s already had their eyes on a herd of wooloo just outside of the dog park.
Reaching into her pockets, the hybrid selected her pokemon of choice. With a simply flick of the wrist and press of the button, the sphere burst open and the commonly known short black furred feline materialized. Vivid red gaze took in her surroundings, eyeing the herd of wooloo the other pokemon were trying to get together. “Can you help them get those wooloo in here?” Nishari’s long ears fell back slightly, though she said nothing.
Gracefully, the umbreon sprinted towards the other pokemon. She moved to the back of the herd, hissing loudly and attempting to BITE as any of the creatures that dared to get pass her. One of the brave wooloo’s stared at her, challenging her. Nishari hissed, running straight at it and nipping at its ankles. It fled away, towards the park just as she planned on it too. Good.

"Woah! What happened to the trees?!" The blonde hastily backed up as a line of Happiny dressed for elementary school toddled past in single-file, trundling off the map. "Haha, they look so cute. Oh hoop, next round!!"
Yggy trotted back through the gates into the dogless park, backpedaling to examine the sign again. "Man, I wonder why they can't go in. I guess they might poop on the grass or something..."
<Doesn't stop me,> said Nugget the Pikachu, kicking Yggy in the back of the head as he climbed his way onto her shoulder. "Hey, ow! Be careful, Nugget!"
The next prompt flashed in the corner of her HUD and Yggy lit up. "Wooo! Z-Move! We can do that one, right?"
Nugget knew what this meant. It was Gigavolt Havoc time.
One massive electrical surge later, and Wooloo were rolling towards the gates like obedient little sheep. "C'mon guys, let's herd them this way!" Yggy yelled, rushing to hold the gate open. She pretended to hold a flare in one hand like an airway traffic coordinator, grinning. "Yep, forward! Yep! This way, sheepies!"

Alicia heaved a sigh as the park shifted wildly around her, closing her eyes. A lot had happened since she'd popped in here briefly. Too much, for her tastes, but she had to keep moving. The light at the end of her tunnel would come if she could just keep pushing.
"Alright. Your up again Giyun." Alicia noted, before taking a deep breath. "Everyone! Cover your ears! Giyun, METAL SOUND!"
She'd learned the hard way that her steel titan of a dragon had one hell of a voice on him when he was prompted to let loose, so she quickly followed her own advice. Earplugs would be a great optional item to put in the shop now that she thought about it. If one wanted to be a real money grubber, they could even make them one-time use things.
And while she was ruminating on that thought, the Duraludon sucked in air. He glimmering as he charged his vocal cords. And as the towering dragon lunged forward, parting his jaws once more, a discordant, grating screech filled the air at a high volume. An aural assault on the ears of anyone who'd failed to hear, or heed, Alicia's warning just before. But it did certainly startle their targets, sending Wooloo screaming and running, or tripping and rolling, away to be collected by the hero hounds.

"Yeeeeeehawww!!!" Came the cry of the most excited Orthworm on the whole of the server. The most southern worm ever was doing everything he could have dreamed of.
He was herding a hoard of sheep like the cowboy he truly was, deep down. No amount of loud, obnoxious noises, or incredibly powerful electricity could shake him from his task. The only thing keeping him from digging straight through the ground and circling them up was his trainer clutching to his back.
Little Catcher hands stuck to his steel body, the little girl attempting to ride him like a bucking bronco. "Woah now! Careful! I'm gonna fall!"
"You won't fall, Rose! It's just a good ol' fancy Baaaallet number with all these sheep! A few steps that way, then this way, and then a good ol' roll on down the hill!" He paused his words to suddenly reach out a blue appendage to smack a Wooloo with a sudden Smack Down! "Ah reckon them Doggo's gonna be playing good tonight, I tell you what! We're living in high cotton, Rosie!"
"Aaah!" Rose cried out, desperately clinging to the back as her wings fluttered in an attempt to keep her balance and not fall off the edge. "What does that even meaaaan?"

Silvermoon gave a stretch, wandering back into the Dog Park. It had been a while... They paused to let an orthworm with a tiny trainer pass. "Let's see...." They mused, pulling up their UI. Use a fully evolved pokemon... They could do that, couldn't they? Not with Kintsugi, but...
They flicked through their options, summoning a beloved pokemon in a flash of light.
<Well...... isn't this something?> Nouveau shook out her head, trotting around a bit to get a better look at herself.
Silvermoon just beamed. "You look so pretty!" They cried, reaching ot pet the curly hair, soft and wispy as clouds. "Oh- but I need your help! The- um, the dog legendaries- they want another ball to play with." Silvermoon said, pointing at one of the wooloo, rolling through the grass.
<Ah! Is that all? C'mon, now, love.> Nouveau said, canting over to the wooloo and gently herding it back towards Zamazenta.

Lucille once again found herself within the Dog Park. This time with a very different purpose, it had been quite some time since she had logged into UnoVR and while things never stood still and were always advancing, she was beginning to feel a little rusty. The tall silvery-white haired woman would reach a gloved hand under her jacket and pluck a small, strange teal colored capsule from her belt, the sphere rolling between her fingers before sitting in her palm. The kindler watched as other trainers corralled the Wooloo and tried many strategies to try and get them to wherever they needed to be. Quirking a single eyebrow in mild intrigue when an idea struck her ❝Aymr perhaps you could block their paths with some fire?❞ With that said, she turned her attention to the large ghostly form of her Hisuian partner.
Aymr with his eyes half-lidded, stared at Lucille with a questionable look ❝I'd burn the grass but sure, guess I can try to block 'em off.❞
Lucille blinked and paused for a moment ❝Actually on second thought, maybe that's not such a good idea. Wouldn't want to set the whole place ablaze.❞ ❝Gee, ya' think? Here, let me take care of this.❞ Aymr scoffed and rolled his eyes before moving his hands elegantly, focusing ghostly fire energy between them and shaping a ring of several fireballs before launching them towards the walking balls of wool that were straying off from the pack as the others herded them. Reading up on more of UNOVR's features, the Challenge Towers were a good way to get Pokémon. Most importantly, it was free, and Shalin's early game budget was tight. Beta Tester was going to be an expensive class to get, but it would be the easiest way for her to truly dissect the game in the ways she wanted. The current floor was about to end, too, and trainers seemed to be flocking to the PARK OF DOGS to claim some never-before-seen Pokémon... at least in UNOVR, they had never been seen.
As she walked past the sign forbidding dog Pokémon, ignoring it because she didn't have a dog Pokémon, she scrutinized the tower's seams for any potential weaknesses in their walls, which may have looked creepy to some of the others corralling the Jigglypuff rolling about. The speeds at which they were bouncing off the walls made them difficult for most Pokémon to track. Seeing that the Challenge Tower was asking the nine within for a speedy attack, the glitch hunter hurled her Yanma's Poké Ball to the ground, a noisy buzz filling its confines. "Flit, QUICK ATTACK!" Shalin ordered.
The dragonfly's wings roared surprisingly loud for an unevolved Pokémon, her partner disappearing into a blur of motion. With how light the fairy-types were, even a charge from a small Pokémon like Flit was more than enough to knock it into the pen where the rest of the captured targets were. "Phew, we made it!" the scrawny girl exhaled.

The final Wooloo was proving to be the most challenging to catch, moving at double speed like the last enemy on screen in classic arcade games. Withdrawing Xira for Goroh, the Cyclizar's wheels left a mark on the ground as the squealed, the dragon-type tearing off after the double-speed Pokémon with a BREAKING SWIPE.
While the carnage was going on, his eyes turned toward the green-ette with the fellow Yanma. Wow, did she ever look attractive! Though he was single and not looking, getting to know the girl was tempting. The young man waved toward Shalin Nariya , not saying anything to capture her attention. She might get angry if her focus was disturbed!

FLOOR 6: FLYING SOLOSIS "Marvelous! Ideal!" exclaims Zacian with a wagging tail as the Wooloo are systematically shepherded out of the park gates.
"Ball!" agrees Zamazenta, sneezing through a mouthful of cotton fluff.
"Shearin' season!" calls a farmer from the far side of the park, waving a pair of shears, and all the Wooloo trot over obediently. A cartoonish cutscene with much baa-ing and flying wool plays, then the naked Wooloo are left behind, decidedly less round and more sheep-shaped.
"What is this?" demands Zacian, hackles rising. "The balls you collected have been tampered with!"
Zamazenta noses one of them sadly. It bleats, wobbles on its legs, and fails to roll even slightly. "Ball..."
The two legendary wolves lay down again dejectedly. "Fear not, brother," Zacian assures the other, "These human's resilience cannot be overstated. The perfect ball must exist!"
Back in the Park of (no)Dogs, gelatinous green shapes have filled the lawns and park benches. Some float, buoyed by psychic power; but some roll and splat squishily along the sidewalks. Perhaps ten Solosis would make a more fitting plaything?
You have collected 50 Balls and unlocked YAMPER (C)! The next reward (Rockruff) will be unlocked at 60 Balls.

Torino's laughter fluttered like Rose Garden as she watched her friend wrangle sheep. "It is just like a country Summer!" she said, as the Wooloo were penned and sheared with simulated efficiency.
"I am sorry about your toys," she said, comforting Zamazenta with a quick pat to the head. She put on a resolute face. "But we will find a better ball!"
Filled with the fire of low-stakes determination she stormed the park with her Marocchino's supportive panting at her side. Solosis hung like fruit jellies in the thick Summer air, and Torino set her sights on a pack between Rose Garden and Wolf.
"Let us circle them!" she yelled, pointing at the group. Her Houndour barked and bolted, leaping off the shrubs and low fences. Snaps of shade clacked against empty air as Houndour bit at the fleeing spheres.
Suddenly a dark bite caught the slick side of a Solosis and fangs pushed against rubbery skin like staples against a beachball.
"Lascia!" Called Torino, and the eager dog let its prey go scampering back to the group. "We are chasing, not catching, my little one." Prompt 52: [Tower] jVrV6m|t1-501-50

The horde of Wooloo had been sheared, thanks to the Hero Dogs and the many players that had helped herd them. With their not-so-spherical shapes disappointing the legendary Pokémon, the search for perfectly round replacements was on -- and Solosis were a great candidate! The psychic-types would prove to be much more tricky to corral than the Wooloo. It would take teamwork.
"Alicia Westfield ," Shalin called out, "I'm gonna try to send some of them toward you!" Clicking open Saria's Poké Ball, the glitch hunter's Bulbasaur emerged from it. Drawing her natural weapons, the grass-type loudly cracked her VINE WHIPS toward one of the floating Solosis in an effort to knock it out of the sky and toward her trainer's acquaintance.

As Wolf expected, the horde of circular wolly wooloo didn’t last that long for the two legendary canine’s. Soon, the farmer came to gather their livestock and sheared their coats to reveal their true form. There was part of her that thought the wooloo’s shaven was cute, much like a sheep in real life. While at the same time, seeing them naked without their fluffy felt wrong in ways she couldn’t really explain. Either way, the two doggos were not longer happy, leaving them bored and needed another form a ‘ball’ to play with.
In the corner of her eyes, the hybrid caught to sight of something round. And when her gaze fell upon said round object, her brows scrunched in mild skepticism of the next possible play toy. She would admit, Sorosis was one of those pokemon she hardly ever messed around with. Not because they were dangerous or bad creatures, the psychic type just didn’t tickler her fancy. However, something told her that they wouldn’t hold up to ‘ball’ expectation the two canine’s wanted. But, who was she to judge?
A shout erupted from another player close by, following several other shouts in communication to gather the creatures for the canines. Grunting to herself, Wolf recalled her previous creature for something that might help stop them in place. Within seconds, the cool sleek yet elegant design of a certain ice eeveeolution materialized. His righteous digits took in the scene within a few moments before falling back upon the handler that summoned him.
The hybrid shrugged her shoulders, gesturing with a head nod towards the floating green blobs. “Can you freeze some of them before they get away?” “Are we still on this?” “Just do it.” The feline rolled his eyes, turning back to the field of, now scattering, Solosis. The glaceon took in a deep breath, lung expanded as the air chilled within its own body. And once his lungs was full of the cold air, his muzzle parted to sent a ICY WIND towards any of the creatures that were within his firing range.

The personalities coming from the Zacian and Zamazenta made Josh relax. Coming into UNOVR, he was expecting its legendary Pokémon to be aloof gods. Perhaps he would be able to bond with a legendary Pokémon much like a common one after all! If his favorite Pokémon wasn't showing up any time soon, Zacian would be very close. Though the typing was different than a Raikou, the incredible speed was there, once Josh could work up to it.
For now, he had a new job to complete; the tricky Solosis would be a greater challenge to herd toward the legendary dogs. After several minutes of unsuccessfully trying to move them physically using his Yanmega, Josh switched tactics. "Xira, try a BUG BUZZ from the center!" he ordered. "Cover your ears, everyone!" Floating and flitting toward the center of the park, the giant dragonfly's wings began to churn and drone loudly, the scout's skin lightly rippling from the vibrations pounding the air.
