"C0D13, I'd like to report a glitch," the villainess declared the moment breath reentered her lungs. The hum of charged ozone in the air told her she hadn't just spontaneously faintedā she'd been re-spawned at the shrine again. Seconds after her last visit. How did that work? Her Pokemon weren't even with her this time! In response to her complaint, the digital assistant unfolded in her HUD, idling in place as it processed the request. <BZZT. All systems working correctly,> he said. Bergamot folded her arms. "How can that be? I just healed, and I'm already back here."<Hmm. I'm reading a recent spike of damage to your in-game avatar,> said C0D13. <Data suggests an environmental effect, such as localized fire, hazardous toxins...> Morgana let out a loud exclamation and closed out of C0D13's window. They had to get out of that building!

She wasn't sure what got herā the fall, the Kartana probably sneaking up on her from behind, or the Buzzswole downstairs probably finishing off her cute little Probopass. She didn't remember hitting the pavement, so that was a good sign.
The answer sat before her like a lump of ore, baby blue eyes closed, mustache still. "Poor, sweet Arran," Bergamot said, shaking her head 'sadly'. "What cruel world would do this to such a perfect Pokemon?" She'd have to swear revenge on Buzzswole when she was back somewhere with a proper audience, but for now, she had a Pokemon to heal.
Easier said than done. When not magnetized and floating above the ground, the Probopass was heavy. "Heeef," Bergamot gasped, putting her shoulder into it. The blue stone ground against shattered concrete as they inched forward. Just a... little... closer...
Needless to say, she was gone from the quest a bit longer than expected.

Bee relaxed and slumped against the shrine. Electricity tickled through his clothing, making his back go numb.
"You know, we could sell this as a form of therapy!" he said to Jam. "Actually...that may not work. Players can already heal, and people from outside the game don't need to numb things once they're here. You'd need some sort of in game chronic pain."
Jam leaned over and Bee scratched his head with a rapidly numbing arm. "You're getting really big buddy! I think you might have even hit full size!" Bee looked up into his son's smiling face. "Now help me up. I can't feel my legs."

Ostellia. The new world opened to her after the Thunderfall Raid. This was the area she and the other players worked hard to unlock without any sacrifices and boy, did they deserve it. She did hear from the forums that this area was filled with unknown Pokemon living here and the corruption hasn't been removed lately. However, seeing the sight of the shrine that was formerly stolen by Zapdos standing right in front of her made her confident she would contribute something to restore not only this area but also the second area she rather not risk herself crossing through.
After a minute of "prayer", she bowed to the shrine and headed off to parts unknown, waiting to discover new dangers and discoveries UNOVR and Ostellia has to offer.

Verai groaned softly, pushing himself up off the ground. The egg and Kitten were nowhere to be seen- which was good. With any luck, they were both still with Kazuki.
Staggering to his feet, Veraiās thoughts went to his sword- and the torturous sound of the creature consuming it, bending and shattering steel. He clenched his fists, empty. Heād have to forge a new one- one less capable of getting crushed by a sentient garbage disposal.
Now, though, he had to get back to the fight. Verai closed his eyes, reaching to the shrine, feeling the pressure and lightning overtake him.

Saint chewed his lip. āAre you sure about this?ā
The Mantyke floated around his head, giving him a full view of its little smile. It was the second Mantyke heād obtained, one that had been sitting idle in his box save for when heād let it out with the rest of the team for check-ups and play time. And it was happy, yesābut it was a monotonous existence. Saint was reminded of Slushie, and how the vulpix, too, had yearned for change.
But this wasnāt the same. Visiting the shrine would not offer Mantyke a new form, or new life.
Quite the opposite, at least in Saintās mind.
Impatient, Mantyke turned around, and Saint hurriedly grabbed it out of the air.
āPlease listen to me! This wonāt let you fly higherāor, at least I donāt think it will.ā He tried to pull it back down, and it whined. āYou will be exalted. Do you know what that means?ā
<Yes!> Mantyke chirped. <I will be free! I will reach the heavens!>
Saint wanted to throw himself into the sea. āNo! Youāll be gone. Do you understand?ā He had never done this before. He didnāt think he would ever need to, but Mantyke continued to struggle against him. āIf you want to fly, I can evolve you into a Mantine! Wouldnāt that work too?ā
Mantyke thrashed harder. <No! Iāll still be stuck here, floating like a balloon! I want to fly.> It grew quiet, for a little while. <I want to be a part of something greater than this. I thought I would be, if I joined you.>
Saint tensed. He held Mantyke close to him, looking at the shrine. āā¦ A day. Could you wait a day to think this over?ā
<Half a day. No! An hour.>
Saint rested his chin on the Mantykeās little head, and miraculously, it didnāt push him. It took a long time for him to say, āAn hour.ā
They waited an hour.
And even longer than that.
The shrine glowed prettily in the end, the altar clear where Mantykeās pokeball had lain.
Saint EXALTED MANTYKE TO THE SHRINE

Adarsa sat up with a jolt, sand spilling from the folds of his clothes. He got to his feet, brushing sand from his hair, pulling it from his eyes. That thing- what even was that? That wasn't a pokemon, surely? Pokemon were- were cute little creatures, not- not a robot thing? He blinked, squinting at the sun, and pulled up his UI- Hesitating.
Teleport to friend?

Adarsa groaned. He was on reduced, right? Dustily, he flipped open his UI. Yes. Reduced pain threshold. So why did it hurt so much? It felt like he'd been hit by a truck.
He'd never been hit by a truck, but this was probably the amount of pain someone would be in if they were. Gingerly, he got to his feet again, dusting himself off. Maybe- maybe he could wait a while, before going back. Mars was strong and capable, wasn't he?

Adarsa groaned, and elected to remain laying on the ground. Whatever was going on, with Tuesday, with the blob, with the rocket- He just realized that he wanted absolutely no part in it! None at all! This was terrible! So, he laid on the ground. Which was nice- much better than whatever was going on there.
And then- the shrine felt weird. Adarsa jumped to his feet, drawing back as if struck in earnest- but the shrine was still, the lightning only a phantom. Unnerved, he edged away, and went back to where Tuesday was waiting.

āAnd this is Thunderfall Shrine,ā Kazuki explained. āItās the shrine for the giant fuckoff bird called Zapdos. The one I made for you is smaller, but you can still grow up to kick his ass one day. Are you listening?ā
The baby zygarde paused from where it was crawling over a big juicy apple, peeling itself off to beep at him incoherently. <.- ... ...!>
āIs this how youāre going to talk?ā Kazuki asked, frustrated. āOr is this just the worm version of baby speech?ā He shook his head. āWhy am I even askingā¦ just eat your lunch.ā
<. .- - . .- - . .- - . .- -> It lay back down on the apple, resuming its crawl. Kazuki watched, arms crossed and sitting in lotus position, as if observing a koi pond as Leech finally arrived at its destination: the hole. Or rather, the leafy stem of the apple, if that leafy stem was actually two blinking eyes.
The beady eyes glared, and Leech glared back. A small mouth opened from the beak-like end of its face, and it very slowly tried to eat its opponent.
The applin closed its eyes and smacked it. Leech cried out, shriveling back.
āOh, no you donāt,ā Kazuki growled, nudging Leech with a finger. It had the same effect as trying to peel off adhesive, Leech immediately clinging to his skin and refusing to let go, like a child with a warm blanket. āLeech, get off! If you canāt even take an apple, nature is going to select you for compost in the sky!ā
The applin rolled its eyes, spending the rest of the afternoon watching Giant Idiot try to unpeel his crying leech from his hands.

Kazuki rose from where he respawned face-first on asphalt, groaning loudly. He rolled his neck, hearing pops loud enough to concern mechanics, and it was the same for every sore muscle and joint as he stretched himself into something resembling a human being.
With one tackle, the bug had managed to throw him into a building so hard that he basically broke every single bone in his body.
āThatā¦ was awesome!ā Kazuki laughed. Even fully healed, he could still feel phantom pains scraping all over him as he hopped down from the shrine, sprinting as fast as he can back towards the Forgotten Nexus to challenge the Buzzwole again, his mind reeling for strategies on how to take it down. It had been a good, long while since heād managed to find one this brutal.
One that didnāt resemble an office building, at least.

The shrine was not close to the Dune District, especially not on foot. Even with RUNNING SHOES, Alicia Westfield would be on her own for far too long. She didn't stand a chance on her own. The return trip aboard Granmarg would be much faster than the trip on foot, thank the Great One.
As the blonde approached the Thunderfall Shrine, his hair stood on end, as though lightning could strike him at any moment. He had already survived a lightning strike in the Surge Steppes. The voltage here felt like it would be even more merciless, as though the bolt was anything but natural. Divine, even. Taking a deep breath, Josh put his hand against the metal spire, bracing himself to receive a small "blessing" from the legendary PokƩmon the shrine was erected to.
Small, green recovery numerals cascaded near him as a surge of static locked his muscles up. He felt like he was going to be fried any moment, the static making every pore on his body rise. Just as he felt like he was about to be struck by lightning, the intense tingling feeling ceased.
Clicking Granmarg's PokƩ Ball, Josh released and quickly mounted the Mudsdale. "Let's go! There isn't much time to waste!" With a solemn nod, he responded to the rider's jabbing knees by getting up to speed as quickly as his muscles (and parameters fueling them) would allow.

It was a devastating feeling, having the last of her team be taken out by the mighty Naganadel. Getting respawned so far away was a bit brutal, but with the kind of creatures running around here she could understand why healing zones were few and far between in Ostellia. But she still let out a muted curse as she appeared by the shrine and knew she needed time to let Tikani and Giyun heal. Was Josh Devlin able to finish the fight!? Was the Naganadelās fury too great for him to overcome? Even if she left immediately with a still damaged party she wouldnāt make it in time. So all she could realistically do was wait with bated breath. A dark part of her mind kept whispering. āAny minute now, Josh will appear. Your efforts were for nothing.āShe waited, watching HP numbers tick up as her skin felt like it was prickling. The power of the lightning and thunder felt like it roiled in a craze. She wasnāt sure what to make of itā¦ but it was surprisingly exciting. Numbers topped off. And then she realized that Josh hadnāt appeared from being wiped yet. āā¦ WHOO! He did it!ā Alicia cried out in joy, pumping a fist in the air again. And then the following realization set in. āā¦ FUDGE! Iāve gotta run like crazy!āShe had a long trek ahead of her. She swore next chance she got she was getting some kind of Pokemon she could ride on.

It had been a while.
Kazuki sat atop one of the crushed skyscrapers, watching the massive pillar of metal sticking out from the floodwaters. He didnāt see any familiar faces, and with his pokemon still tucked in their pokeballs, he opted to wander the perimeter.
Despite the open space, the thrumming ozone, his steps felt like they echoed in this place. It crawled over his skin like static, and his curiosity did not last.
He hopped away from the spire after a quick tune up, deciding to find something for his time.

How did he end up here?
So far from civilizationā
Hell, in fact he was surprised heād ended up in another place altogether; all things considered. He realized that back āhomeā in the EU server, basically everything was coated three-deep with frost now which made travel all but impossibleā¦
āHonestly. Jumping to this server was the best choice I made.ā
Looking around at the desolation, he would stretch his hand out to the gigantic jutting piece of metal; before feeling a current run through his fingers and making them tingle.
time to knock these shrine visits down and out!
