He remembered how much of a mess the Thunderfall event was back home—about how two opposing forces were fighting in the middle, and the ranks were swelling and/or receding for either side as more people were either kidnapped to the ‘Dream Court’, or were brought back from whiting out by those who were running the Support skill tree…
“Wish you were all here to see this place. No eternal ice and snow, no eternal darkness. The sun’s high in the sky, and it feels so… surreal,” he would muse quietly as he gazed upon the gigantic chunk of metal that jutted towards the sky.
Oh, if only they knew…
The same tingly feeling would run through his fingers once he’d lift them from the metal.

Here she was, staring up, up, up at the diamond shaped pillar, the hybrid would stare at it, watching as blue veins crawled across the metal and the sweet smell of ozone filled her nose. The destruction around her, the abandoned cityscape may be intense, but this...this was like nothing she'd ever felt before.
The pressure resting beneath her skin, the buzz of rain deep within her bones - it was pressure, as she rested her palm against the metal. And yet, as soon as it began, it was over - the stress in her stomach was gone like the fleeing of a storm, and all that was left was a tingling sensation in her hand from when she removed it from the steel. Cypress let out a breath she didn't know she was holding onto, whispered a soft "Thanks,", and began her trek.
Now, what direction are the dunes in again...?

The pillar in the center of the THUNDERFALL SHRINE danced with electricity. With it being a shrine to Zapdos, Josh expected that he would be coming back here frequently, given that he aimed to raise not one, but two, of the legendary birds. One the traditional electric-type he loved from the first time he played Pokémon Red, and the other an ultrafast flightless bird he had little direct experience with, as he spent more time in Dynamax Adventures than actually completing the Crown Tundra story.
Enough reminiscing, though: Josh was in a hurry. He needed to get his Pokémon patched up and sprint back to that Celesteela. If both Josh and Alkaid went down together, they would have very little time before the Celesteela despawned!

“Alioth, Mizar… I wonder how you’re both doing now.”
He would hum quietly as he extended his hand towards the gigantic metal structure—why was he suddenly getting all sappy and reminiscent?! Oh, that’s right…
A vast majority of what remained of the guild he’d taken over had been taken to the ‘Noble Court’ despite their protests; and over time they had grown attached to the poisonous nectar that it provided; dulling their senses and breaking their spirits.
“You were all idiots, you know? Dubhe, you’re the worst. Even more terrible than our leader, Aldebaran. Who knows what that shithead did to get his ass banned from the game.”
He felt the electricity crackle through him the moment the flat of his palm touched the cold, unyielding metal.

Perhaps Shalin was wrong. She had hopes that going to a Shrine would cure Ellie of the Nihilego poison, just as it would bring Saria back to her senses. Releasing the two Pokémon from their Poké Balls, the Bulbasaur was motionless in the shadows of the skyscrapers surrounding the diamond monolith.
Touching the shrine, Shalin flinched and retracted her hand as a static discharge coursed through her body. In a flash of yellow light, Saria was on her feet, but not for long; the Phanpy flipped the grass-type upside down with her trunk, as though they were in combat. Sighing, the girl withdrew them both.
"So it really is incurable at a Shrine, even..." she lamented as she made her way back to the Drowned Harbor.

This was the second time in about ten minutes that Shalin had party wiled in the Drowned Harbor, but she wasn't giving up yet; she had found the Pokémon she was after. She wasn't leaving until she had it in a Poké Ball, no matter how many times she had to hoof it back to the electrified monument to Zapdos.
Pressing her hand to the black, diamond-shaped monolith, her three motionless Pokémon slowly stirred. Not wanting to make this mistake again, she reached out to the one that had helped her get out of a jam the last time she was in trouble: the Pokémon rider Josh Devlin . Her message was simple and to the point.
DIRECT MESSAGE> Hey Josh, can you give me a hand with this Pheromosa on 7? I can't make any headway with it.

Even with two characters at or above the level recommendation for Ostellia, the Pheromosa was brutal. The white roach's speed made it difficult for Josh's Pokémon, fast as they were, to land more than glancing blows. Its blurred, Double Team-like images made tracking the Pokémon equally difficult.
The closest Shrine was the one to Zapdos: a legendary Pokémon he had his eyes on. He had a strand of DNA coming down the pipeline, though it wouldn't do him any good until he could show the gatekeeper at the Identity Parlor the 2,000 BYTES to change himself into a child like he wanted. As expensive as it was, it didn't cost Arena Points. The alternative was to stay an adult and buy Huge Seals for every Pokémon he wanted to saddle. That would get expensive quick.
Touching the monolith, Josh's hair stood on end as his fallen team sprung to life. Saddling Granmarg, he made his way back toward the Drowned Harbor with all haste, hoping Alicia hadn't suffered a similar fate simultaneously.

Oh?
How’d he end up here again—was it by happenstance, or had he gotten lost again?
He’d noticed that the Celesteela he’d gotten from around these parts was… behaving rather erratically when taken outside of this particular area, which made absolutely no sense at all because all things considered, they were still classified as an ‘unknown’ in the in-game database…
And he couldn’t recall meeting any of these strange species back home!
Either way; he could feel the electricity rising off the gigantic piece of metal as he touched it with the tip of his fingers…
another visit

It was his first time out at these parts.
While he had full intentions on getting the Flying and Dragon trainer subclasses when they released (or well, when the Dragon subclass dropped anyway, it was apparently the last one that had yet to be unlocked) he would spend some time idling around here—
Wondering what had happened, how did something like this get dropped seemingly out of nowhere in this equally-strange place.
He could feel the hum of electricity in the air—being a New Jersey native, he was no stranger to thunderstorms. Would he get electrocuted? Hopefully not!
A hand would slowly, very slowly touch the gigantic piece of metal before he felt all the hairs on his body (and the back of his neck) prickle the moment his skin made contact with the smooth, cold slab.

He had a feeling he was going to be seeing more of this gigantic slab of metal; the strange, unknown shape cutting an imposing figure where it currently stood amidst this equally-strange place.
“Please, let them make it through,” he would say—to nobody in particular, though he wondered if there was someone listening as his fingers brushed the cold metal and the same tingling sensation would shoot all over him; he would never get over the crackly feeling that hung in the air afterward.
He would then make his way back to where the Dipplin and Greninja were fighting; hoping for the best.
who knew he would be back so quickly?!

“You… are becoming a familiar place, now.”
He’d come running all the way out here, again, as he took a deep breath to steady himself. He knew that when he last saw the Dipplin and the Greninja, the two were still fighting against the strange Pokémon, so… what else was there to do now, than to come out here and pray for their safety?
(And he still had his Drakloak’s Pokéball with him!)
“Please… don’t let Hydra, my Dipplin… die!” he would gasp, slapping both hands on the cold slab of metal and feeling the tingling sensation spreading all over his body once more; the desperation was clear in his voice as he closed his eyes and prayed.
Hoping against hope that the two Pokémon were going to make it out of this alive and well!
this place looks familiar

Reaching Thunderfall Shrine from the Dune District is as simple as a couple of taps in the UI, but somehow to Torino it felt like a long time gone and a vast distance away. She arrived at the shrine, music still ringing on her lips. Passero was there too, his feet still tapping as he danced with his twin sword beaks pointed to the sky.
He let out a crow of victory and wonder, and Torino laughed as she danced with him. She pointed her arms towards the sky, mimicking Passero's beaks and the rising point of the Thunderfall Shrine.

There were a number of Shrines that Josh could have visited to commune with his Pokémon, almost all of which were closer than the Thunderfall Shrine. Why then, would he go out of his way to visit this one? The answer was simple: he revered the shrine's guardian deity. As a Bolter, the ozone-filled atmosphere felt like home.
Keleth barely kept up with Raiden, the boy's mind heavy on the loss of Ixion. He relied on the fire-type horse for fast and reliable travel across Ostellia. Keleth just wouldn't be the same. Even if he wanted to ride the Ponyta, he couldn't, for he hadn't crafted a saddle for him, nor trained him to bear the child's weight.
Once he was in front of the electric monolith, he said his prayers. "O great thunderbird, hear my plight. Deliver Keleth's brother from the depths of the hive and back unto my hands. Deliver Ostellia from the calamity of Corruption and evil. In the Great One's name we pray, amen."
As Josh finished his appeal to Zapdos, an enormous lightning bolt struck the stub of the Ponyta's growing horn, causing the nearby Zebstrika to rear in fright and his rider to tumble over the back of the saddle. The boy rubbed the back of his head over a rough landing, wholly unaware of the transformation Keleth underwent beneath the blinding flash. The Ponyta had completely transformed, gently touching Josh with the flat of his horn and exuding a HEALING PULSE to patch up his wounds.

Laguna had seen the Thunderfall Shrine many times before, but there was something so shocking about seeing it here in Ostelia, even now. It wasn't supposed to be here, it didn't feel like it should. And yet, it was a gift from Zapdos.
Even though he was guarding The Steppes from Mistra, his power was here, protecting them too.
She let out a long sigh, holding her Golden Pokeball in her hands. The seal long broken, but she was lost in thought all over again. Her Pokemon could leave at any second they chose, but they all stuck around because they knew her, trusted her, care about her. It was a miracle and a half to have friends that she trusted back in return.
And yet, there were a few mysteries. The Ultra Beasts in her posession confused her. They could leave at any time, vanish and head off into the distance and she could never do a thing about it. Tossing her Pokeball at a Pokemon she had fought and knocked out, still meant they could leave as soon as they recovered. There wasn't anything holding them here.
So why did they stay in her ball? Perhaps they too were evading The Voice? Staying inside the Pokeball the best option?
So why did the Celesteela suddenly break out and go crazy when she tried to take them to Cygnus to look for help? Did the voice get louder and more controlling the further they were? She had to be careful heading back to Asper for a while, it seemed. If they could pop out at any time and go crazy, how would he stop it?
Would she be responsible, knowing what she did?
"I'm sorry, friends." She'd speak softly, gently brushing her thumb across the broken seal. "I'll find you help, I promise. I trust Cygnus... I hope you will too."

That one hurt.
Laguna was laying atop the ground near the shrine, feeling the funny feeling of the Shrine's power flowing through her. It was like rain in her bones, thunder crackling against her skin. It was unlike almost anything felt before, except from this one single shrine.
She wondered if Zapdos felt like this all the time. Like the power was just in his bones, his being, his very soul.
How did the other Legends feel? She had unfortunately only met Moltres face to face, Articuno, or should she say King Articuno, was stuck within the Dream World. But were they similar?
She couldn't imagine what it must have felt to practically be a God, and yet still fall to the Corruption.
The thought lingered in her mind, holding the Golden Pokeball up as she once again brushed her fingers across the broken seal. "A weapon to fight the corruption," She mumbled, remembering Cygnus's words. "You're so much more than that, and I hope all of you know that. But I hope you'll help us."
