It was always nice to have a landmark, simple as it may be. Cypress was preparing herself to walk through the dunes, to actually explore Ostellia, when she came across the shrine again.
With a small smile, she'd place her hand against the cool steel of the shrine, exhaling as the feeling of thunder crackled through her bones, before making her way away again, after a quiet moment.
A moment of silence, of a request. Please keep me safe as I explore.

When Shalin reached the THUNDERFALL SHRINE, she dropped to her knees in pain, the adrenaline rush from having been in survival mode so much finally having worn off. This one looked so much different than the Noonlight Shrine. More primitive... and certainly more electric, as the name suggested. Its recovery properties were all the same.
As she pressed her hand against the metal spire, she drew it away rapidly at first, flinching upon being badly shocked. Inhaling and exhaling deeply, she touched it again, this time a tingling current making her arms shake as the complete restoration took place.
That was more painful than it needed to be; in her mind, the healing process at Noonlight Shrine sure was a lot less invasive than this!

Laguna couldn't help but wonder how Zapdos felt, leaving his Shrine here, while he was back across the sea in Asper. She gazed upon it as she felt its power flow across her skin, letting out a long sigh.
It was a sign of trust.
Somehow, through everything, Zapdos had enough faith in the humans that roamed this land, to gift them with his shrine. He didn't have to, he didn't even have to bring them here, we could have just taken some massive boats, or built our own planes instead of giant magnetic cannons or whatever they had during the assault.
"We even attacked him, not knowing his true intent. And yet, the best way to repay him, is to help stop the corruption. I don't know when he's last taken a rest, fighting against it..." She sighed, closing her eyes as she fully embrace the power that washed over her. In time, she had come to enjoy the feeling of a storm within her gut.
"I wonder... what he, would think of Plasma."

Waking at the THUNDERFALL SHRINE, Shalin frantically checked her Pokémon once she had touched the shrine's electric spire to recover her team. To her relief, all of her remaining Pokémon appeared to be intact and completely healed from their awful encounter with the dunes' foreign wildlife.
Remembering that Josh was on the way to the derelict hotel, Shalin took off toward it, expecting that Josh wouldn't stand a chance on his own. Even with the power of his more advanced team, she doubted he would survive long. She had saved his life once. Now, it was time for her to save his.

Shalin couldn't believe she had the wrong Route to go Buzzwole hunting. No wonder she couldn't find one, and no wonder Josh Devlin was so upset with her! She had needlessly given the life of her Onix up over preying upon a Pokémon in a place it didn't spawn. Opening her direct messages, she sent the speed demon a note of her arrival.
DIRECT MESSAGE> I'm patching up my team at Thunderfall Shrine before I go to the Forgotten Nexus. I'll be at the Route 7 and 8 zone line. I'll wait for you there.
After sending it, she rest her hand upon the metal spire the Shrine was built around. With a revitalized team, she jogged back toward the post-apocalyptic, deserted metropolis in search of a clue to her missing Pokémon's whereabouts.

Josh caught a glimpse of Shalin Nariya as he, too, was on his way to Thunderfall Shrine. Had she gone there to top off her team's HP before fighting another Ultra Beast, like they had agreed? It was certainly a good idea, and this time, he could come prepared with fire-type and flying-type Pokémon for the oversized bug.
Seated on Braver the Growlithe, he thought about how much danger Shalin was putting herself in despite the loss of her Onix. It showed how important this capture was to her. "We'll keep her safe, Braver," he gently pat the fire-type with one hand as he raised his other toward the current-coated spire. It even recharged his own abilities, thanks to being a BOLTER. The Shrine itself almost felt like a second home since he had mastered the electric-type class.
With his team in top shape, Josh reined Braver around and rode the giant Growlithe to the Forgotten Nexus, ready to come to his friend's aid.

Orion respawned with a deafening roar, still mid attack animation as limp sparks of cerulean power danced from his open maw, tumbling through the air with next to no force as the dribbled to the ground. Sinking to his knees, Orion took several deep breaths, forcing air back into his lungs from the blow dealt to him. His mind, heart, and body reeled from the severe ass kicking he'd just been dealt on all fronts. His body shuddered with a few trembles, adrenaline, fear, sorrow, any and all combinations of the three swam through his heart. He let it run free, a shaky sob escaping his lips as he bent over and rest some of his weight on his hands. He let the shrine do it's magic, focusing less on the receding pain and more on getting his heart back under control, releasing the adrenaline and coming back to normal.
After a few moments, he could hear the telltale sign of another player loading in, and knowing the odds he did his best to regain his composure, taking up a spot not too close but not too far from where she was loading in. Once he was certain it was her, he simply held his arms out, a soft and open invitation for an embrace with a look that spoke a thousand words of understanding, his eyes twinkling with a certain intimate empathy of exactly what she was going through.

Laguna was silent as she respawned. She was curled up on herself, barely present as she was last in all her thoughts.
She was reckless. Stupid. She got people she cared about hurt, all because she stopped thinking. She allowed her wounded heart to overpower her mind, and they all suffered because of it. It was the first she had Whited Out, without being in some quest or dungeon. It was just one single dangerous foe, and she got careless. She allowed her anger to-
No, it was Guilt. It was anger at herself, yes, but it was guilt that pushed her to that point. And now because of her, Omnia was gone. A quick glance at her UI saw them faded out. Tears began to drip freely down her cheeks, silently sobbing. This time, when she heard Orion's words, in French no less, she couldn't possibly ignore him this time. Her heart was broken, just glimpsing up at Orion alone was another to cause another round of tears. She didn't stand, but she did open her own arms, hoping he'd kneel down to hug her instead.
"Orion, I-" She began, only for her words to fail her. She had to force past her sobs, only managing to say a few simple words.
"They took my baby."
They both would likely be here a while, until they were ready to finally to move on.

He was not expecting to come out here so soon, all things considered.
However, fact of the matter was that their little activity of watching and waiting for the rocket ship to come had gotten them into some rather… sticky territory. While the Greninja would watch and wait for his return, he would come out here to the Thunderfall shrine once more; marveling at the strange, alien shape it cast across the deserted landscape.
“Honestly… those things should calm down.”
He would reach out to touch the jagged, metallic surface and feel his skin thrum for a few seconds; never mind if he had the two subclasses equipped that were weak to Electric energy…
“Alright. Can’t stay too long out here. Have to go back and continue hunting.”

They were getting close, weren’t they?
The longer he spun the tale, he knew that the closer they would be to acquiring their own Celesteela. (Look, in his defense he was enamored from the moment he saw one in the Asper Cup!)
What was even more insane was the fact that he already had a name picked out for them! Her? He had no idea if they followed the perceived notion of ‘gender’, but here they were.
“I already know what to name mine, it’s so perfect,” he hummed as he brushed the back of his hand against the cold metallic surface of the shrine.
“Kaguya.”

This place was becoming a familiar sight, wasn’t it?
Sticking out against the wreckage of the buildings, a jutting piece of cold metal that hummed with electricity everlasting.
“Honestly, I have a feeling you… you may not be the actual ‘shrine’ for this area,” he hummed quietly as he approached the electrified place once more. Never mind if he felt his fingers get all tingly because of the momentary contact between himself and the shrine, fact of the matter was…
He was getting close; he could feel it in his bones.
That Kaguya would be coming home soon.

Respiro appeared in a crack of disappearing fast travel light, his Oinkologne beside him.
He looked up at the Giant Shrine, displaced in time and space, far from its home. Just like Respiro.
He had always liked the Giant Shrine. He fondly remembered his early days on Route 3 with Respira, catching ground-types for Profesor Ash. The massive steel spike had always been a beacon, a sparkling, lightningstruck landmark visible from anywhere on the plains. They didn't feel the same without it.
Thunderfall Shrine, the tooltip said now. So much had changed in this server.
<Where are we?> asked Oinkologne, looking around at the crumbling buildings, the crawling vines, the ruined city. The pig's hackles stood up, thick boarshair forming spikes like the grasses on the Steppes. <Is this the shrine?>
Respiro nodded, his beaky head bobbing up and down, and pointed at the massive spire. He trotted towards it, showing no evidence of fear. Oinkologne followed, more hesitant.
The closer they got, the more static that arced from the metal towards them. The air hummed with ozone, but the smell was different here. Less like storms. Less like rain.
He reached out to touch the shrine, closing his eyes and relishing the familiar, electric feeling of energy surging back into his body..

The strange, crackling energy was still there—like an omnipresent eye that kept watch over every single being that came and went through this strange location.
“Honestly… if you were all here to see this, then I’m pretty sure you’d all call this absolute…” he trailed off, closing his eyes for a few moments.
His mind’s eye flashed back to the countless times that the guild would meet somewhere close to a shrine—not this one, another one—before setting out and getting into all manner of insanity for that trip. Or two, if they were willing to risk it.
“But then again… I don’t really know if you all quit the game, or you’ve been poisoned by the Noble Court,” he would sigh, feeling the crackling electricity prickle his fingertips as he touched the cold metal.
Maybe that indecision of his that struck after the end of the European version of the Precipice Crown event was going to bite him hard in the ass again…

This particular trip out to the Thunderfall Shrine was… special.
He’d been torn no either the one at Beta Island, or the one all the way out here—however, fact of the matter was that there was a certain decision that made him choose this location over the other.
(Why did Alolan Persian have to look like that?! Honestly…)
He was accompanied by his Meowth, idling around his feet and looking up at the gigantic slab of metal.
“Scary, isn’t it? Don’t be,” he would hum quietly, crouching down as he looked between the shrine, and the Meowth who was now sniffing the electrified air around the place.
“I don’t know what you’re thinking, since you haven’t spoken a single word… maybe, after you transform, you’ll find your voice,” he added, guiding the Meowth’s paws to touch the cold slab of metal.
As the feline Pokémon’s tiny little paws made contact with said cold slab of metal; a burst of light began emanating from the metal, enveloping the Meowth at the same time—
Was it true? That this strange, alien structure had the power to change how one looked?!
He would shield his eyes against the sudden explosion of light that poured out of the Meowth—and as sudden s the light had appeared, it would fade away, revealing…
A completely-different-looking… huh. Oh, wait, this was the…
‘Really?’ the unfamiliar voice would catch at him; before he realized—
‘…actually, I like this forme better.’
changing k!meowth into g!meowth!
a surprise transformation?!

Josh's hair was a mess, the Ironsmith's WINDBREAKER not possessing a matching headpiece. He had suddenly found himself with widow's peaks after the Duraludon's HYPER BEAM nearly reduced him to cinders. The important part was that his Zapdos eggs were alive and well. Perhaps too well, as they constantly kicked at the arms that he was holding them in.
The speed demon set both of his eggs in front of the altar before touching the Shrine's metal spire. "O great Zapdos, bless your children Thunder and Storm with a long and fruitful life," he began to pray at the shrine's center. "A life where they can help Ostellia and Mistra be free from Corruption. A life where they can serve their Mother's greatest wishes. Bless us with the intuition and insight to carry out your will. In the Great One's name we pray,
Amen."
Without warning, an enormous lightning bolt crashed down upon the spire, blasting Josh and his Pokémon away from the shrine. The eggs, however, remained unharmed and unmoved. Two more thunderous crackles echoed from the shrine's direction as pieces of eggshell flew skyward. A yellow column of light rose from Storm's egg, while a tan column rose from Thunder's. Why were they... different?
