cat scratch fever

Dogs are in, cats are out. Some would say as much right now. However, Domino is a 'all UNOVR content is good content' sort of girlie (Mistra's traumatic nightmares aside) and so when a new door to the Tower of Cats is opened and the option once again appears in her UI, she's quick to pay a visit as soon as she has a chance.

"Ah, a classic." There seems to be only one other person here right now, and Domimo greets them with a nod and a smirk before a Pokéball is called to her hands. "Alright, Bethany. It's your time to shine."

What sort of Pokémon is Bethany?, you might ask. Well, one sold at Bethany's Trade Shop, of course! Hence the name! No other than... Wimpod.

That, in itself, is a problem, because while Domino herself may be all technicolour lights and shifting pixels, the little water bug is not used to doing much shinning. When facing 10 Patrat, the Wimpod sure does STRUGGLE... BUG, ending up skittering around the tower floor while being chased in circles and circles.

One Patrat apparently gets dizzy, sick from all the constant circular motion. It falls to its side and then dramaticly vanishes.

Domino's reaction?

Huh, Cat Tower again?

He did recall that the Worm Tower was also launched again, and that one was still ongoing, albeit a little slowly, but he wasn't really sure why he'd need more cats if he already had Litten, the only cat he really needed. Or did Fennekin count as a cat? No? Man. He was really starting to like the idea of collecting all of the fire type Pokemon, but unfortunately there was no lizard tower, no pig tower, and no crocodile tower either (did crocs count as lizards? Now he really wanted a lizard tower! Act like Steve Irwin or something, who he only knew through memes rather than actually seeing his show).

Anyway, Patrat. Gotta kick their asses. No problem! This time instead of sending out Kimchi to do the dirty work, he decided to bring out Tsukune, the newest member of their team. She let out a loud chirp, looking like she was raring to go. What does the prompt say again? Oh okay.

❝Right, let's Flame Charge those rats! Uh, do it twice!❞

<You mean hit two of them?>

❝Yeah I think so!❞

She looked kind of confused as to why her trainer was unsure, but decided to follow anyway, cloaking herself in fire before running quickly towards one of the frozen Patrats. After taking one down, she immediately turned to another direction and slammed onto another one.

Torchic used Flame Charge, Twice!

Lucille hadn't been on UNOVR since there had been a busy rush the past few weeks at the bar, taxes to painstakingly file and supplies to replenish. Work, as much as she loved it was sometimes a drag, which was why when she could find the time for her headset and her beloved downtime game after work, it thrilled her. Logging into UNOVR felt like a breath of fresh air after such a hectic time. The ivory haired woman stretching her body out and earning a few clicks from various joints, shaking herself off before she headed to the cat tower for who knows how many times now. Reaching for the Pokéball of her Dragapult from under her bomber jacket as she ascended the tower till a prompt flashed within her UI: 'Use a Dragon Move'. Swiping the prompt away with her finger, the kindler casually tossed the capsule into the air, a flash of white light rupturing from the sphere and taking the shape of a large ghostly reptile that shook herself off and lashed her fading tail about with wreckless abandon.

An exhausted amber stare at her trainer as Byleth's Dreepy-missiles made small squeals ❝These two haven't been quiet at all, in case you're wondering.❞ The motherly-dragon grumbled, folding her arms across her chest while she levitated beside her trainer. Lucille managed a small scoff, lightly shaking her head ❝I can tell, maybe take out your frustrations on the tower Pokémon, yeah? Dragon Darts.❞ As the command left Lucille's lips, Byleth's amber orbs gleemed with a mischievous sparkle, a loud cackle breaking from her large triangular shaped head ❝You don't have to tell me twice!❞ Byleth sprung into action, sucking in a deep breath as she took aim at the feline tower's residence and began to launch Dreepy-Missile after Dreepy Missile at the unfortunate Tower Pokémon.

Kallisto had a deadline approaching, but it didn't mean he didn't have the time to hop into UNOVR to pick up a routine goodie (or so he convinced himself). To make it quick, he ran into another tower so that it wouldn't take too long to participate and then he could hop back out. He had actually yet to visit this one (or wait, he had gone to the Cat Tower before, but this one was a repeated tower, much like the wormies). If nothing else, it would make for good trade fodder.

The problem was a prompt. What was a sound-based move? Even if he knew that the system would tell him which Pokemon had usable moves, it still took a while to look through his increasing inventory to find those that could fulfill the requirement: Aegis and Pierce. With Growl, specifically, a move that didn't really seem to do much of anything other than potentially intimidate the opponent when he let the penguin demonstrate it.

Lightly shrugging, he pulled out Pierce's PokeBall and let the cat out of the bag. He snapped his fingers, trying to remember something, ❝You're a...you're called a Meowth, right?❞

<Ooh, Meowster trying to be a Pokemon expert?>

❝Trying not to be too much of a newb.❞ he replied, eyeing the rats that were skittering about. Didn't seem like they reached a stage where there was a particular obstacle just yet. ❝Use Growl on them!❞

The cat let out a confused noise, but it was the trainer's orders, so...he pretended to raise some sleeves and walk up to the Pokemon with his two legs -- well, it was more like he was sauntering like a gangster. Bewildered but worried, the rat was paralyzed in place before Pierce went on all fours and let out the snarliest Growl he could come up with, teeth bared. Err, the rat looked scared and was hiding its face, but now what?

Meowth used Growl!

In comes Yuze, trailed closely by a literal train of kittens. Well, just three, but still a train indeed. All grey, all bipedal, all with absolutely nothing behind those unblinking purple eyes of theirs. No thoughts, head empty.

This very tower is where the Espurr had come from, so the thought of coming back with them made sense to him. Well, most of them had come from here, since one of them is a clone, but no one but Yuze would really be able to tell which.

He stands there, in that silent and strangely sinister way of his, and of course, his creepy little cats are silent too... Right up until the moment one gives an ear-piercing shriek as a result of a Patrat getting a little too close for comfort.
