Big Bee wiped away a tear of laughter at Yggy's amazing Professor Ash impression. "That was so good Little Y, oh my god I can't breathe."

But if anything could take the breath away from the still laughing man it was the horde of ravenous, chanting Grookey that burst from the sand. "Ah! Four score Grookey!" Big Bee shouted, as the sandy simians beat him around the shins with pieces of driftwood. But mental rainmanship wouldn't be enough to save him from their wrath.

He stumbled back, tripping over one of the green monkeys as he reached for a Pokeball. "Orange!" Combusken burst from her Pokeball, a whirling flurry of fiery feathers and furious, clawed feet. "Show these monkeys not to mess with fruit!"
"...what?"
"Just kick them!"

Orange was a whir of motion. She kicked up sprays of burning sand, sending waves of Grookey tumbling down the beach or into the flames of Lucky Guy's Braixen. The little grassy monkeys were already out of place on the dunes, but between the pair of fire types they were like plantains on a grill.

"Yeah! Alright! We're really getting them, ay Little Y? It's like that movie. You know, the one where the adventurers get attacked and captured by genetically advanced monkeys," Big Bee said, turning to offer his digital bro a high five.

Yggy was gone.

There was a set of hurried footprints leading down to the water, and a dozen tiny monkey tracks. He watched, confused, as Lucky pulled Yggy from the water, saving him from some terrible monkey fate.

The horde of moneys that had followed Yggy into the water didn't resurface. Presumably the combination of Lucky's kicks and an overly large wave had ruined their snorkels.

"Defeated by water," Big Bee said, nodding, "just like The Wizard of Oz." He went to check on Yggy, but a swarm of tiny hands burst from the sand, grasping and pulling, dragging him down into a makeshift monkey pit. "No! Lucky Guy save me!"

Big Bee watched in awe as vast swathes of Grookey were felled before the other trainer's Pokemon. They fell like wheat in a storm. Like bowling pins in an avalanche. "Holy crap," he said, mouth still half full of sand. He spat out the grit and pulled himself up. The last few Grookey were scattered and disorganized. Fight had turned to fright and they were no threat any longer.

Orange chased the last few down the beach, delivering swift kicks here and there to keep them moving.

"You, uh," he looked at Lucky Guy. The man looked like a true trainer, flanked by his pair of fully evolved Pokemon, levelled far beyond what was expected by the island, "you're pretty strong already, aren't you," he said, joining the pair in the now safe beach. "Thanks for the save back there. It's...usually easier than that."
