Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

Maybe in hindsight, maybe in the privacy of his own mind he could admit it, but on the outside he was not sure how to react, or what would be the appropriate reaction, or no, the way that he wanted to react to build how he wanted to be like in front of this guy in particular. It was a habit he had developed both consciously and subconsciously, but it was not a pressing problem at the moment when he had other things to worry about, like being on a horse. Looks like the tutorial wasn't finished yet though: there was the straight line, the turning, the picking up speed, and of course, the jumping. Did the game turn itself into an obstacle course just for them? Or was Josh specifically leading them around places that would help them practice? (Again, Arthur thought it was possible that this guy had been doing this to other newbies like him, so maybe this whole thing was something he had done many times before). He couldn't really muster out an "OKAY" in all caps (or any sort of verbal thing); he only had enough mental energy to focus and brace himself. What was the timing for this? How many meters before did he have to do-- The fence was fast approaching, so it was instinct, almost. He flicked the reins and Granmarg jumped as gracefully as a giant horse could do (it was smooth, but the landing was a bit hard on the bones). He let out a grunt. ❝Any other tutorial bits you need to put me through?❞ he asked, wondering if they were any closer to the delivery target than they were a while ago. From all the excitement he didn't realize that his mini map had updated itself to show that indeed, they were at their supposed destination (their little dots were right under the marker). It happened to be a school, for some reason, and the parcel itself was delivered without incident nor any fanfare. Now that he was trying to recall the details, wasn't that package from that weird shadowy professor that gave him Gou? What kind of package was she delivering to a school? Or maybe it was nothing to worry about since it was all for the quest anyway? These thoughts were visibly expressed by Arthur opening his mouth for a moment to say something before closing it again, deciding that it was not worth the effort, especially since his UI did a little pop up celebration that he was able to complete the delivery (it was technically all Josh). ❝I...guess?❞ it dawned on him that he should get down from the horse. His legs and back and butt suddenly hurt. He took it slow, moving one leg to one side before sliding off the saddle and letting his feet hit the ground. He mentally cursed. ❝Give me three business days to get back to you.❞ he muttered, remembering something that he often said to his brother, if their mood was civil enough. ❝But thanks for taking the time to tutor me.❞ the experience would certainly come in handy in the future when he obtained Pokemon large enough to ride on, but he would like to take things at his own pace, thanks.
