Lucky spent his nights within the world of UNOVR walking along under the starry sky alone. When he tired of traversing the increasingly dwindling landscapes of the Beta Islands, however, there were many other ways he had to pass the time. Some days he practiced the half-finished and fairly buggy cooking minigame, not realizing that it wasn't buggy at all--it was just meant to cook for Pokémon rather than for people.
Tonight was a particular night in which he had no minigames at hand to spare. Instead he lay down in the grass, an eye on the stars with another closed. His Decidueye, Omen, had been allowed out of the ball to roam free for a while. After taking her free reign around the forest she returned to the clearing in question and was sitting nearby, watching over her master with a keen eye. Together they spent the better half of an hour watching the stars and speaking in the strange way that they could speak with one another. Omen spoke their ineligible whispers in the night while Lucky did his best to understand what she meant by them. He felt as if, by the end of the relaxation, he could understand what she spoke just a little bit better than before.

A separate day's time was instead spent his his buddy Will'o, name short for the famous wisp in question. Lucky wasn't actually sure if the Delphox could even learn that move, but it hardly mattered to him. Lucky was naming Pokémon based on whatever sounded like a reference to something ominous, anyway.
Today he was grooming Will's fur. He'd done this once before when they were but a wee Fennekin and boy was it easier back then compared to now.
"Maybe I should find a barber or some such. You could use a good trimming, methinks."
Will assured him with quiet growls that no such treatment was nessecary to such important fur.
"And why not, then? You telling me you like being as shaggy as you can get?"
Power comes from the hair. I am stronger like this.
"That doesn't mean you can't be nice and pretty doing it, too. I'm not saying I'll make you bald, I just want to get you nice and organized. You look like a Witch's lint familiar before you do a witch."
Will'o could only begrudgingly agree in the face of his insistent master. He would do his best to look tidy from now on.

Lucky had a habit of making soup wherever he went in the gaming world. If a game had soup, Lucky would find it eventually and hopefully recreated the stuff for his own nefarious purpose (hunger). He'd recently gotten the hang of how to cook in UNOVR. It reminded him of that one other fantasy game that had cooking in the beta. He had roleplayed as this cool guy called Haru when it was out, but dropped the game when the Cooking skill was removed... He'd missed cooking interfaces like this, to say the least. Apparently someone at the UNOVR team had, as well, which he was thankful for. His recent addition to the team, the little Wurmple beneath his feet, seemed to also appreciate the soup that Lucky had made for the two of them. Lucky himself had to make sure that the pot was kept cooler than he'd like, elsewise his little Wurmple kept taking ticks of fire damage every time he inevitably crawled onto the bowl to take sips.

A long night was passing by and the end of darkness was soon to be. The sun would rise soon according to the timer on Lucky's HUD. He didn't have the energy to explore anymore, nor did he for most of the day. He was unwinding as he tended to at the end of any long day. The only difference was that right now, he was in the full dive instead of at home unwinding in his bed. Lucky was doing this because he wanted to spend time with Omen. The Decidueye had given him a right heart attack back at the time of temple's escape. "You shouldn't have done that for me, Girl. I don't die, you know? I just show up again with you in me pocket."You would have been hurt, Omen insisted, if I did nothing but watch."It's not that bad. Even cracking my skull open in this place is like hitting the ground in a dream. It's all safe, girl. Just a bad dream at worst." This was to prevent any damage to players, even those who felt realistic pain. There obviously couldn't be a game where people came out with real trauma so easily-it would break apart and burn before the first release from all the lawsuits and outcries. You are my master. I will not stand by and watch misfortune befall you. "Damnit, lass..." Lucky's hand idly ran through the Decidueye's organized and meticulous array of feathers. He was careful to make sure that he didn't fluff her up, as he knew she didn't like that at all. You have been with me when I was scared. You have with me when I have fought. I have become strong for you. I will not let that strength go to waste. "Please, just... Don't sacrifice yourself for me unless I ask. I have to ask you to save me, alright? That's an order, girl." So long as your others will save you in my stead."Don't get thick on me. Please, Omen. I can come back as many times as I want-but I don't ever want to lose you."I promise.

Lucky had a hard time figuring out how to keep Ammit happy. It had been the first Pokemon he'd found as a higher level and it showed with his temperament. The big guy was not happy at all ever since he'd found it prowling the corridors of the Golden Temple for a fight or something while he had been running. Lucky himself hadn't expected the stray ball to catch him at all, only throwing it as a tactic to delay it. The thing was listed as a temple obstacle, after all. Strangely, when he was at the bottom of the temple, the pokemon was in his team. Had it actually worked? That had to be a bug with the rates, right..? Well, he reported it but got no response. Clearly it was intended as an easter egg or something, or maybe people could catch Yamask in there so they put the bigger variant on a low rate, too. Nonetheless, he had no idea what to do with it until he called his buddy for advice on Pokemon lore. Apparently this pokemon stole souls and put them into an eternal hell when malicious. That was something he did not want to see as a mechanic, and thus he all but leaped onto the other bit of advice he'd heard-they like to play with gold. And indeed, Lucky was just the guy for that. After all, everything he touched turned into gold! He would end up holding random things, tossing it to the Cofagrigus when they turned nice and shiny. Lucky would watch those PNG-clear hands grab those nuggets up like candy and pull them inside, becoming sated for a time before tossing them back out when the golden transmutation wore off. The coffin was rattled at times like those, yet Lucky had no idea what was going on in there. What was he doing in there? Lucky would never know. What he did know was that Ammit was satisfied by the playtime, and had become a lot more agreeable since then. What Lucky also knew was that in the case of something that had always been gold, such as a sweet pendant he'd found that was listed to sell for a hundred Bytes, was that Ammit would never release it after snapping it up. Ever. Best to use things that couldn't be sold from now on.

Lucky decided it was time to rest for the time being and log out for the night. He'd had a long walk in the night, and his UI was telling him that it was almost time for him to get up for his scheduled workday. It was rather important today, as people were complaining about something related to the display of UNOVR's login launcher again. Best to get up early and fix it as soon as he could. The only problem he had was this egg. He'd been carrying it this whole time and apparently, while the devs could implement realistic shoe-tying and in-depth cooking, they have yet to allow players to store an egg in an extradimensional space. It counted as in his inventory while he was carrying it, but... Well... He didn't feel right just logging out with it in some place. He wanted to feel safe before logging out. So he did. Lucky took the time to climb a particularly tall tree with one hand. That climbing tutorial really came in handy right about now, but it was still a huge pain. He'd be feeling that in his palms when he woke up, he was sure of it. Climbing into the crook between branches where he couldn't fall if he tried, he lay down in the bark using his body as a cup to keep the egg wrapped up in his limbs. "Sleep tight, little lad. See you tomorrow." Those were his last words before logging off, and the last words that he would ever say to that egg. When Lucky returned to the game world he found that it was gone. There was a moment of panic, followed by a chittering that he could strangely hear to sound like fear? Fear? Danger? It was strange, as he couldn't interpret the intent of Pokémon that weren't his own as far as he knew. There were exceptions with particularly outspoken Pokémon with the speaking option on, but it almost never happened. Lucky glanced to the right and beheld his new friend, hanging from the tree. The two took the time to soak in each-other's presence and came to accept that they had found their partner. The bonding was complete. [This post does not count for the daily Refresh Bonus.]

Lucky didn't quite know how to deal with Glory since he'd gotten the little lad. It just seemed insatiable. If Lucky fed him, he still acted as he wanted something from his trainer. It was the same with petting, playing, even resting with him often... The Turtwig wanted something else from Lucky and he couldn't figure out what. Lucky got a good inkling of what that was after his day with Ammit under the sun. Glory, too seemed to appreciate the shinier things in life and would calm down when it had ahold of any. It particularly liked gold as a happenstance. It's why Lucky saved up his bytes to buy a cosmetic from one of the only beta shop keepers in existence: The mysterious dealer of hats. The expense was great, yet Lucky felt that it was well worth it to bring another Pokemon into line with him. Glory looked pretty cute with the crown on, too. Lucky had few complaints to give about the compromise.

Lucky had a terrible moral dilemma. He had all this soup and he couldn't even share it with the creature that loved it the very most. Skydow sat attatched to the leaves of a tree watching him cook. It didn't seem to be in any hurry to try out his food like it once used to. "Oh, my poor laddie. What hath nature done to thou?" Lucky's despair was a work of art. Even now, he remembered how eagerly his wurmple took his cooking as if it were yesterday... And yet, now it was a coccoon. Unfortunately for the both of them, a cocoon had no need to eat food. It neither wanted nor needed the soup that it stared down at. In actuality, it was just looking down to watch its' master fret over the soup. Lucky looked distressed. If only there was a way to help him... Alas, as he was now, all he would do was relax and watch the scene of the camp. The air was warm from fire and Skydow was content from that alone. You are awaiting the rise of the God, came the whispers of Omen to he. Lucky nodded in response. He was indeed at the precipice of the Altar, taking in the sea's salty air and the rain's cold chill as be prepared himself to wage war against one enemy alone.
It was not something that would be easy, of that he was sure. There wasn't a way in hell that developers like these weren't going to make something destructive as all hell. Lucky could see that much from the Arena.
He wasn't afraid-he was ready. He had been waiting for a big event like this since he'd started playing, as the world began to change in waves he was sure that his purpose of being in this game would come to be clar as day as sure as the dun shined after the storm.
The time would come. Lucky would make it come. Omen and he, together would make this come.
Now was the time to prepare. His hand rest upon Omen's side as he awaited the proclaimed end of the aisles to come.

Lucky tossed the Cascoon in his arms up and allowed it to fly for moments at a time. It would then fall and Lucky would always catch it. This was an exercise between the two that they'd come up with to get some playing in. Frankly, he'd noticed since the Cascoon was but a wee wurmple that it liked to climb as high as it could. He knew why now-Skydow just wanted to fly. Lucky couldn't give it wings, but he could give it time in the air to bring it peace for a while. All Lucky had to ensure was that he caught it... because despite it being a Tank, Lucky wasn't actually sure exactly how sturdy a pod of silk would be to falling on the ground. Just to be safe and to build up trust, Lucky would make sure to always catch Skydow without fail. Perhaps it would already know how to fly when the moment of hatching came.

Practice continued between Lucky and Skydow as the storm came closer and closer. This time was not merely just a time to play with his Cascoon-it was preparation for the coming storm that would soon envelop the isle... He thought anyway. Maybe the fight would just happen in the eye of the storm. Who knew?
Regardless, Lucky was training Skydow in the art of hardening silk. This was something he could always do, but only so close to himself so as to raise his own defense. Lucky's idea was to combine it and String Shot to create walls to defend his other Pokemon!
Was it going well? So far. Lucky recently had a breakthrough in the art. It turned out that Cascoon enjoyed sunlight much like a plant in this game. The more time he let the guy soak in the sun, the slightest of increase of control Skydow would gain for his silk.
And thus, the two sunbathed, lucky patting the side of the cocoon as he relaxed. It was definitely not a vacation. It was not. It sure was relaxing, though...

His next in the line of training was the humble Seedot known only as Leshy. He'd named it after looking up the evolution that Seedot turned into. It seemed fitting enough, even if he would look a bit silly. Leshy liked the name, and that was all that mattered in the end.
Training the Seedot was a questionable affair. As a given rule, the seed enjoyed hanging off of branches at all times, not caring to do much of... anything else, really. It seemed to be enjoying itself, sure, but what was Lucky to do? How was he to command this Pokémon in battle? Lucky was stumped to say the least.
All he could spend his time doing was to sit in a tree together with Leshy, patting the acorn head as he hoped that the enjoyment of petting would cause this silent Seedot to follow him when push came to shove in battle.
It would.

Lucky and Will'O had found a new past-time--playing cards together. No, this game world hadn't actually made up a card system integrated into the game world yet, a real shame. Lucky was sure that casinos would come to Pokémon as any other Pokémon game had one in them, but for now all he could do was find equivalents to the cards and play using those.
Surprisingly, he had found a batch of leaves that worked wonders for a good game of War between the two. This wasn't so organized as a game of War, however-far from it. Like Pokémon, the cards in this game had random values of strength at the time of inspection. The Delphox and his master debated on why his leaf was worth a Jack when in the eyes of the other it was naught but a 7 against his 9.
It was pure chaos, putting it frankly, but Lucky felt that he was having a lot more fun than if he was actually playing solitare with a computer of some kind.
Will'O felt so alive sometimes...

Preening the feathers off of Omen's wings was an exercise of constant trust between the two. Lucky would be careful not as to rip a feather in a wrong way, even though he knew that the act of preening could be done roughly with little problem. In turn, Lucky was assured by the Decidueye that none of her feathers would randomly grow sharp as a knife in seconds flat as he was pulling them out. Lucky did not want to find out if cutting his finger on a single feather of Omen's Leaf Blade would count as enough for a white out and, respectively, a quick trip back to the respawn zone against his own accord.
It was a tentative agreement, but it was one that had yet to be broken. Lucky was happy that he had enough trust from her to keep being able to preen like this. The notion brought a curious thought to his head-What even governed trust in a Pokémon in UNOVR? Was it a hidden stat dictated by actions in battle? Were there people on monitoring duty who assigned good stats to people who played nice with their Pokémon, or perhaps there were just trigger words that would lower trust in general?
Regardless, Lucky and Omen shared a bond between each-other. Lucky hadn't believed that he would have gotten sentimental over a Pokémon prior to playing the game, and yet here he was now, thanking his own stars that he hadn't lost her during the events within that terrible trash bin.

Lucky and his new Machop flexed underneath the sun. It was one exercise in a series of many. They'd been working like this for twenty minutes now with no sign of an end in sight. Lucky had just started a radio he used for morning calisthenics and waited for the damn thing to finish. Who knows how long it would go on in a dreamspace?
Probably the same amount of time, now that he thought of it. Things were surprisingly 1:1 in here. This wasn't so bas as some of her other warm-ups have been, really. The only thing was...
When I FLEX--I feel my BEST!
This Machop took very much so after his father in the Arena, having an attitude Lucky very much did not enjoy listening to. At least he sounded cuter than the so-called 'Undefeated Champion' before him. Lucky didn't know what he'd do after little Pluto here went and evolved...
