You would quietly watch as the two Pokémon continued exchanging blows between themselves—and you were right to come after the Chimchar; it had a secondary-typing that you’d picked to specialize in, which was the Fighting type!

Some backtracking on Chimchar’s move set makes you realize that it’s a very mid-level move; however most everyone misses out on it because they choose to evolve the Fire-type as early as possible when playing through the Generation four games.

The blur of feathers would continue circling above the Fire-type’s head, cawing and screaming before landing several more quick hits and avoiding the surprise burst of flames from the Chimchar’s maw

And the might did fall, the moment the Chimchar ‘gave up the ghost’ after the Murkrow’s last Wing Attack sent it flying; crashing to an unceremonious landing near where you stood

‘Always a pleasure,’ the guttural squawking would remind him; before you tap the button of the golden Pokéball on the monkey’s flaming hair ‘tuft’ and watching as the red beam of light consumed the stubborn little form…

‘That was… surprisingly quick.’

“I know. Maybe a little too quick, don’t you think?”

‘Now you have two monkeys to deal with!’

And there it was again—another painful reminder of how you’d lost your snarky, sassy Grookey to those invasive species back out at that equally-cursed office building.
