#s://i~imgur~com/kq1ClxZ~jpg The land of Dune District began as a series of apartments, streets and worn lampposts. As if a landscape of passing time, traveling further will slowly and surely wear those passages down. Soon enough, the land will give way to roiling sands that twist and turn in the winds. Those sands will give way to an endless expanse of dust-and beyond that, as the UI meters would warn, lies a land of Corruption.
A man now sat on the precipice of that tainted world. He sat relaxed on a single piece of ruined wall, hair swaying to and fro with the flow of the wind. His eyes were closed, as if he were asleep. In a place as empty as this, he was clearly at peace. The tag over his head said [Lucky Guy]. He was surely lucky, as not a single Pokemon had appeared to accost him in his rest.
He was waiting for something. But for what?

No rest could last forever though. And a hero aspirant had still been scouring the lands of Ostellia in a frenzy. Thunder boomed and lightning crackled even on the cloudless day, as a bolt of purple lightning tore through the dunes. One bolt would pass close by the resting Lucky Guy, at which point a veritable wave of sand would kick up as the culprit skidded harshly to a stop. Alicia, astride her giant Bayleef Tikani, approached again at a much more sedate pace. Tilting her head, she blinked at the sight. βYou alright there?ββThis is not the best place to be taking a nap and leaving your guard down.β Tikani added as Alicia got off her back. βSomehow, I donβt think heβs actually asleepβ¦β the pinkette mused, biting her lower lip in concern as she kept an eye out. As a precaution, she let Venex out and whistled softly to him. Making a quick swish of her finger over her head, she nodded to the dragon bee. He chittered and nodded back, taking flight and keeping an eye on the surrounding area, ready to alert the humans below if something popped up that they needed to worry about. βββββββββββββββββββββββ {Party}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Venex (Naganadel) [3/3/4] Crios (Onix) [4/4/4] Rath (Growlithe) [4/4/4] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Yuyan (Celesteela) [3/3/3]

Lucky saw what was to come long before it did. It was hard not to-Against an endless bleak landscape, the aggressive violet dart stood out even in the distance of a human's eyes. As Lucky needed no such thing, it went to say that he had time enough to prepare for the impending threat.
He'd tried to communicate with it before. Unfortunately, it wasn't willing to talk-and though he had let the thing go before, it clearly held a grudge against him. Just like the last few times, his sharp whistle brought it running. It wanted a battle, and Lucky was okay with that. However, he seemed to have attracted some other attention. Whoever had shown up by his side hadn't been part of the plan, but he'd been meaning to get out of the 'house' more to talk with people, anyway. He couldn't say he found the presence unwelcome.
"Hey there, lass. Sorry to say, you've come right at the right time. Ah, he's almost here. Mind helping me out?" Indeed, there it was, flying right out of the horizon. Lucky let loose a sharp whistle-it was already time. A hulking mass, similar in color to the oncoming Naganadel, rose out of the dunes just in time to catch it in his claws. As the Drapion began to wrestle with it, Lucky stood up. As he did, the shadow of the ruins stood up to cloak his back. The Decidueye raised her wing, casually drawing an arrow to bear against the distant target.
Lucky turned his head to glance Westfield's way as Omen began to open fire on the struggling duck. It wasn't a very effective gesture to make while his eyes were closed, but the sentiment was still there. "It's alright, go ahead. Give 'em a lash or two if you want-this one's been bugging me for the better half of a week, he has."

Alicia grimaced at the sight, noticing the other, wild Naganadel incoming at high speed. And as sheβd thought, the man wasnβt asleep. It almost seemed likeβ¦ βYouβve got the Seer class, donβt you?β Alicia mused off hand. Not really expecting or needing, and answer, she prepared herself as Luckyβs pokemon emerged from their hiding spots and ambushed the enemy Naganadel. β¦ doing almost nothing to it in the process. What? If she was bailing a newbie out it would make sense. But this appeared to be a veteran player. The Drapion was getting good metaphorical licks in and the Decidueye, who made her briefly shudder as she remembered a boss of the same species, was as much a sharpshooter as any. But the hits were basically plinkingβ¦ Alicia huffed at that. A glitch? With the recent resetting of trees what with the latest patch, it seemed possible. βGet out of here! It looks like something might be up somewhere on your side! Weβll cover you as best we can!βWith another three tone whistle of her own, she sicced Venex on the other Naganadel. Her dragon bee let out a powerful screech as it unleashed a Dragon Pulse to try and break up the grapple between his brother and the scorpion. βTikani, Light Screens!ββShields up!β the Bayleef chimed as she started creating a series of psi screens to try and blunt the wild Naganadelβs attack. All the while, Alicia looked for a chance to get herself out of this as well. As much as she could take this fight, she didnβt want to waste the energy fighting what she didnβt want to catch. βββββββββββββββββββββββ {Party}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Venex (Naganadel) [3/3/4] Crios (Onix) [4/4/4] Rath (Growlithe) [4/4/4] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Yuyan (Celesteela) [3/3/3]

The Drapion, Serket, held the wild invader beneath an iron grip... That did no damage. Lucky couldn't keep himself from groaning at the sight. It always happened every once in a while. He'd been ready for something like this, though. Soon enough, Omen had all but disappeared into a hole that formed in Lucky's shadow, and Serket was quickly following suit, falling into the sands as if they weren't even there. All signs of those two disappeared, and then they were gone without a trace.
"Shame and a half," He decided to say. Answering the lady's questions could come later, and he was sure she'd just ask them of him a second time as soon as they were out of the line of fire, anyway. Instead, he told her to do more productive things, such as, "Get your Pokemon back into your ball, would ya? I'll get us outta here."
To Lucky's credit, he even waited a little bit for her to respond to his unreasonable demand. And then, there he was, arm in arm with Alicia as he fell back into the portal to the dream-world that had once been sitting in his shadow. Of course, Lucky wasn't supposed to be able to fall into these portals. They were made by his psychic Pokemon to traverse into a realm that he accessed through sleep, and players couldn't simply jump into them.
Lucky wasn't clipping into the portal or anything, of course-that would be crazy! He had already clipped out of that realm into this world, after all. He was just going back inside so that he could wake up.
Lucky Guy woke up in a much more structured part of the Dune District, immediately groaning under the hell of a sore that he now felt in his muscles. That tended to happen when your location fluctuated, and he would never get used to it.
"I did warn you," Came the voice of a figure that sat next to him on the old, withered bench. A Delphox, one that was every bit the crafty fox that he looked to be.
"Yeah, I know you're great... How're you holding up, lass?" Lucky asks. His pale, sightless eyes open as he looks to his side, and there Alicia was. There wouldn't have been a point to have done this if it wouldn't have taken her with him. Whatever Pokemon had remained out of her ball ended up somewhere here, dragged here by an arbitrary distance rule for a Pokemon and their trainer. Lucky suspected the jump wouldn't be as hard for her-Not when he was the one who had been mucking about. Alicia Westfield

Alicia glanced over while Luckyβs team disengaged and her own Pokemon took over keeping the wild Naganadel busy. The Drapion and Decidueye managed to break away easily enough, and Alicia rushed over to Luckyβs side. Taking his hand when he extended it, she whipped around, holding both Pokeballs in her free hand. It was a stretch, and a painful one at that, but it let her recall both Tikani and Venex simultaneously, just in time for her to be pulled into the portal that just formed. She blinked in surprise as she was suddenly in another realm, and her senses were briefly overwhelmed byβ¦ what felt like pure potential. Pure imagination. She barely had time to ask about this strange world, when they were suddenly back in the district in a new location. Alicia shivered a bit as she shook her head. Whereβ¦ how exactly did they end up here? βThatβsβ¦ a useful trick to have up oneβs sleeve.β the pinkette mused. βIβm alright. Barely got scratches by the Naganadel. Hopefully-βA familiar distant roar would resound. It was rapidly approaching, and she looked over her shoulder. βDoes it still have a lock on us!? Crios, youβre on!βAnother ball was thrown, and the Onix emerged. βI stand ready.β Crios rumbled out, craning his body up at the sound of the incoming Beast. βBind it when it gets to us, keep it still!β Alicia ordered. Looked like they were going to have to fight this one out regardless. βββββββββββββββββββββββ {Party}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Venex (Naganadel) [3/3/4] Crios (Onix) [4/4/4] Rath (Growlithe) [4/4/4] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Yuyan (Celesteela) [3/3/3]

"You are yanking me..." In retrospect, Lucky shouldn't have been so surprised. The darn thing had already had a lock on him from past the horizon, so why should a single glitch make it give up now?
It sure was a pain for having conversations, though. Lucky supposed that those questions would have to wait for later. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to see through others.
The Delphox by his side sat beside his trainer, acting as his eyes. He could see it all-the way that several of Lucky's PokΓ©mon came out of their resting places in the ruined apartments. A Dustox flew out of the shade on a second floor to toss pollen over the invasive beast, while Spiritomb rose from the stone in Lucky's pocket to begin hurling curses and hexes. They could only do so much to slow down the Naganadel before it reached the awaiting Onix.

βThis is the first time Iβve seen anything hold lock on from that far awayβ¦!β Alicia growled out in frustration. βWhat even happened between you and this Naganadel in particular?βCrios let out a rumbling roar as the wild dragon bee pushed through the attacks of the Dustox and Spiritomb that made their presences known. It was being worn down significantly this time, showing that whatever issue was plaguing Lucky seemed to have corrected itself. Then the boulder serpent lunged, crashing his head into that of the beast and arresting its momentum in that instant. With a twist of his body, the Onix all but rained down upon the now-falling bee, crashing to the ground and quickly wrapping their foe up. That wasnβt to say the Naganadel was going down easily. Dragon Pulses flew as it writhed in Criosβ coils. βEvery single Ultra Beast is so ridiculously strong it feels like.β Alicia noted off hand, huffing. But thatβs what made them great party members if you could establish some form of communication with them. βββββββββββββββββββββββ {Party}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Venex (Naganadel) [3/3/4] Crios (Onix) [4/4/4] Rath (Growlithe) [4/4/4] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Yuyan (Celesteela) [3/3/3]

Even under the stone coils of an Onix, the hell-bent beast still managed to writhe. Lucky already began to move before the first Dragon Pulse struck where he had been. This was ridiculous, and he muttered that very senti.ent beneath his breath to affirm it twice-over.
He waited for the sound of a backfire. Soon enough, just as he'd expected-the sound of a Dark Pulse detonating on a Light Screen that had appeared in front of the dragon's own face.
"Selma!" He called, but the din of Naganadel's fury drowned out the words. Thankfully, the roaring itself invited Serket to erupt from the sand once again. The Drapion's claws sank into the thinner joints it could reach and pulled until the wrapped-up PokΓ©mon was now struggling in the dust.
Lucky's erratic movement slowed down. Soon he was walking, more casual now as he approached the thrashing Naganadel. When he stopped, it was in front of his eyes, right in point-blank range for whatever new move that Naganadel was ready to use next. Sightless eyes bore into a senseless gaze.
"You've got to stop. Quit tossing yourself at me like this, you loon. Its getting nowhere and we both know it." Given the exasperation in Lucky's voice, it didn't seem like he believed it would understand him. A scene like this has probably played out before between these two. He waited still trying, even in spite of this.

βIβm sure we all appreciate the attempt at diplomacyβ¦β Alicia began. βBut whatever grudge this bee has is not something thatβs going to be resolved by simply talking.βHer point was quickly proven as the wild beast revved up for an Air Slash. Huffing a sigh, she raced in and tackled Lucky out of the way just before the beast could fire, rolling on the ground a bit. βEntomb it, Crios!ββIβllβ¦ tryβ¦!β the Onix grunted out in obvious effort. His segments started to spin as he whipped up the sands, trying to coat the beast in endless layers of hear-pulverized particles. Sand Tomb was a decent attack at least, and effective in this type match up, but it could only go so far. This Naganadel felt like it was even stronger than the Boss one she took on with Josh way back whenβ¦ Boy wasnβt that a trip down memory lane. βββββββββββββββββββββββ {Party}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Venex (Naganadel) [3/3/4] Crios (Onix) [4/4/4] Rath (Growlithe) [4/4/4] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Yuyan (Celesteela) [3/3/3]

He hadn't been counting himself to pass by this area, not before the raid was going to take place and all, but he was doing a quick sweep of sorts, or perhaps a ride to calm the nerves. He was riding on top of his newly evolved Mudsdale, who was also getting used to his sudden increase in size, gait and power. To say that the horse was thrilled though was an understatement. Arthur could feel that he was restless, wanting to run, but he was holding himself back since he wasn't given permission to do so.
It was not like they could just stir up noise and dust - there were only Ultra Beasts here, lying in wait, or starting to coalesce into the place they would soon breach. As it just so happened, before he made a turn into an alleyway, he could hear the sounds of battle not far from where he was. He remembered how poorly it went with the Kartana last time, so he would make sure that he would fall back if he must before whiting out.
βBanko.β
The Mudsdale let out low grunt before moving towards the raging dust storm. Before he could figure out who were the unfortunate trainers that caught the attention of an Ultra Beast, the said Pokemon broke free from the Sand Tomb, screeching before charging up some kind of attack; a pinkish sphere at the base of its stinger. Arthur commanded his Pokemon to disrupt the attack with a leaping High Horsepower, as none of his other ground types would affect the levitating Pokemon. The Mudsdale followed as ordered, rushing in with an orange colored aura before aiming to slam it on its backside. Unfortunately, the beam it was charging already fired, shaped like a dragon, but their own ground-type attack also made contact.
βOh--β he recognized one of the trainers. Iron lady got around everywhere, didn't she? He ran towards them. βWhat's the situation so far?β if a Sand Tomb couldn't keep it trapped for long, did they need physical ropes to tie it down?

"Buddy here's got a bit of a grudge against me, they do. The kind lady here was just saving my skin. Thanks for that, you," Lucky replies, taking the time to help Alicia up with himself. "He's been at my throat for the last four days. He's got a mind for my hide. Give me a shake, Let me patch these Pokemon up real quick..."
True to his word, he started patching up whatever Pokemon weren't currently entangled with the furious Naganadel. He pulled potion after potion out of his inventory. Each potion was contained in a flask of shining gold. Lucky didn't bat an eye at the supposed cost of the items. There was a time and place for everything, the Tutorial Mom's voice rang out in his head. Well, that time was now!
He kept a critical eye on the Ultra Beast, watching it struggle against its bindings...
"Hey, I think it's starting to tire out! Keep it up, we've almost got it!"

Alicia grimaced, the fight wasnβt going well. Even with Kyukon dropping by to help them out. The beast was furious, and a grudge was the least of the descriptions for this. It was hell-bent, plain and simple. βThanks for coming in. Iβll be right back, donβt worry! Crios, hang on as long as you can!β Alicia called looking over to her Onix. βGo. It doesnβt have the angle to easily attack me.β Crios assured. Alicia nodded and re-released Tikani into the field. And in a flash and a boom of lightning they were off. β¦ At which point the true speed of Electro Drift was on display. Despite Thunderfall Shrine being in the next route over, the electrified spirit of Miraidon was undeniable. Only three, maybe four minutes had passed since Trainer and Bayleef left the area before the two came screaming back into the zone. Whistle on her lips, Alicia tossed Venex back out into the field. Her own Naganadel roared and Crios shifted his coils to expose the wild one to further attack. Venex obliged him and launched a burst of a Dragon Pulse towards his kin in the hopes of knocking it out once and for all. βββββββββββββββββββββββ {Party}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Venex (Naganadel) [3/3/4] Crios (Onix) [4/4/4] Rath (Growlithe) [4/4/4] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Yuyan (Celesteela) [3/3/3]

Banko let out a pained yell as he pretty much bounced off the Ultra Beast - it was as if he was hitting something close to steel, yet at the same time able to reflect his body tackle with ease. He was able to find his footing back on the ground and land without buckling, but the Naganadel was definitely not pleased with the addition of a third attacker, getting in the way of a player that really pissed it off, for some reason (at least according to the guy's story).
How had this guy been here for four days and dodged this thing until now? It was impressive and also suspicious, but now was not the time for speculations.
<I don' think me tackling it did much.> Banko whined. Arthur nodded once and decided to try for a ranged attack. Even if the other Pokemon were not very effective, he figured that so long as he was attacking, it was better than nothing. He told Banko to use a Mud-Slap while he was being held down, while he also brought out Kanya to shoot a burst of Magical Leaf for good measure.
