"Does the other bird live here?" Verai asked. No one answered, naturally. "My daughter siad there were three- Zapdos, the fire one in the Birchwild, and one of ice. I guess that's you?"
His hand idly pet Kitten's fur, trying to soothe her and himself. No matter how many times he came, there wasn't ever a glimmer of his vision, no matter what he did or didn't try.

As Tuesday has done countless times before, she sits at the edge of the abyss, her legs dangling right into the precipice. There are no sacrifices, there are no prayers, there are no poems, and there are no conversations with a deity that can no longer answer her.
There is silence.
What is she thinking? What is she doing? No one else would be able to understand, but there is much Tuesday meditates upon when sitting at this shrine — memories, events, and so much else.
She doesn't jump into the Dream World, however.
It's not time yet.

<'ĐØ ₦Ø₮ ₮Ɇ₴₮ Ʉ₴!'>
Legion's commanding tone rings through the air, a fearsome whalesong regardless of how young this Kyogre might be. Yet, when hearing it as she sits by the shrine, Tuesday smirks, for it comes followed by a small and almost chirping laugh.
<'Ha! I bet you can't catch me!'> A smaller voice challenges despite the Kyogre's warnings, laughing as tiny legs skitter away from the infant legend. A Clauncher, of all Pokémon. Carroll. Carroll who Tuesday had tasked with keeping Legion occupied while she meditates at the shrine.
They apparently had decided to play tag.
It's endearing to her, regardless of how terrifying the Kyogre attempts to sound.

The shrine is eerily silent. Noonlight Shrine was alive- the leaves rustled, the birds sang. Giant Shrine hummed with power, lightning crackling over it, thunder shaking it.
But here, but this? There was nothing. No wind to whistle over the hole, no nearby pokemon talking or nesting. Just... silence.
The silence and darkness both melded together, forming sights and sounds he knew, intrinsically, were not real, but-
He always left before the nonsense sounds could form into words.

He thinks he’s fond of the Precipice Shrine. He still doesn’t consider it a shrine really, it’s a giant hole in the ground that sends you to fuck knows where—Narnia, maybe—but he’s spent the most time here. Sitting by its edge, alone, or with a certain blind man, it gives him a sense of peace.
Usually.
“Kill, kill, kill,” Kazuki chants, to the disturbance of any nearby trainers. He stretches his arms, cracks his knuckles, and pops his neck. Once he’s all warmed up, he goes sprinting from the shrine, his mind narrowed down to a single objective.

It wasn't that he was especially fond of this shrine- the reason he kept returning was simple. It was the shrine closest to where gia t shrine had been. Verai felt his attention being pulled sideways, towards the Steppes. He wondered, idly, if the Prince was alright. If he would return. If he, and Kazuki, were even ones the Prince remembered.

The first shrine had been beautiful. The tree towering overhead as gnarled branches stretched their fingers towards the sky. This one was unnerving, disconcerting and ominous. It fascinated Tamara and she drifted closer to the edge, heart beating fast in as though in anticipation.
The abyss yawns wide, a cerise oil slick of energy shimmering across its surface. Was that… a portal? Where did it lead? A trembling hand reached for the veil of energy, halting just before making contact. Shaking her head, the blue-haired teen backed off a few steps. She was here to heal - this wasn’t the time to investigate.
Another day, then.

“Well, fuck.”
She’d died. Well okay, she’d whited out, technically. But still. With realistic pain settings, it felt mostly like the same thing. Pushing up to her feet, she stretched, trying to loosen up the stiff joints. Well, it felt like how she imagined it felt to die. She should probably stop with this circular thinking now, huh?
“Gah,” she scoffed at herself. “Best get back before the kid shows up." It’s only as she says this that she realises just how dangerous that situation might be for said kid.
“Aw, shit.”

The Shrine was starting to become mundane. Things unseen assailed him less and less as he visited, as he sat by the abyss' edge and thought. Sometimes Kazuki came with him, other times he was alone. But he knew, now, that whatever challenges this Shrine- or anything else this game presented, he could weather through it.
He had his team with him, after all.

Verai carried Miu to the Shrine, and sat in the pink flowers with them. Miu got up and ran around, chasing errant bugs or fallen petals. And Verai sat, and kept an ear out for them, and laughed when Miu dumped a picked flower in his lap.
And he laughed just as much the fourth time as the first.

"I should take you in there, shouldn't I?"
Tuesday sits cross legged at the edge of the abyss, an ice-cold egg resting on her lap. Her whispers are meant for it, as are the gentle strokes of a hand that pays no mind to its mist or its gelid temperature. Another legendary egg to care for. Another legend to raise. This time, however, is different...
Or, is it?
Legion's egg had been a gift from a friend; a reward for her devotion to the Church of the Ceaseless Downpour and a way to increase their own power. This egg, however... this egg was earned as much by devotion as it was by deceit — by regret, by loss, and by hatred. Will she hate its spawn?
Tuesday tells herself she won't, she tells herself that this articuno will be exactly what she wants. Of that, she will make sure.
"Don't worry, we'll go into this Dream World soon... Not yet, though. You're not ready just yet."
Or perhaps she is the one who isn't ready to face what awaits her beyond the gate that the Precipice Shrine has become. Psychic energy swirls all around, and truth be told, she does not trust it all. So, she focuses on her small and fragile egg instead, paraphrasing to it words full of dangerous meaning:
"They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, and her name in Hebrew is Abaddon."
Another legend, another biblical name. Perhaps some things are still the same.
Although... It might be 'Abby' for short in this case.

“You ever wanted to go down there?”
Pignite freezes, glancing over his shoulder to where his trainer stands. The man is looking over the edge of the abyss without a care, his hands shoved in his pockets as he leans, but he’s still too close.
Scrunching up his face, Pignite steps away from the edge.
Kazuki laughs. It’s not quite right, and while he does consider his trainer a menace, Pignite has never felt such a violent shiver down his back. It’s been like this ever since the man began frequenting the arena. “Relax. Why the fuck would I push you in? You’re part of the team.”
This does not comfort Pignite the way it should. He watches as his trainer steps a little closer, the black belt procuring a Pokeball.
“But let’s test it out. For science.”
It’s just a Magikarp. Pignite watches it thrash around in Kazuki’s arms, some poor fish that would’ve been turned into fillets by Pansear if not this. Its fate was sealed. It matters about as much as a corn chip to Pignite, yet he still can’t help feeling unnerved as Kazuki chucks it into the massive abyss, as if shooting a wad of paper into a rubbish bin.
“Hm.” Kazuki tilts his head. The magikarp disappears with a little jingle and a notification. His box is cleared by one. “Now isn’t that anticlimactic.”
Pignite remains a safe distance away until Kazuki whistles for him, and then he walks after his trainer, offering only one last glance at the pit before they continue training at the steppe.
Kazuki SACRIFICED COMMON BLACK CALICO MAGIKARP TO THE SHRINE

Carrying an unconscious monkey to some sort of possibly eldritch shrine was not on top of the list of things Nephilim expected to do today. But here he was. Peering into the abyss - he hoped to glimpse something. There was lore here and he wished to seek it! But for now, he needed more Pokemon. Which meant he needed Wukong to be healed, so he could catch some more for his team.
Such was life.

Losing to a baby bird twice wasn't exactly a crowning moment for him. But, it wasn't all bad. It could be worse. The thing was tough. Which only made him want to catch it more. Perhaps it would be useful as a Tank when the time comes? That would be cool! Then Wukong could be a Sweeper! Wait... Wukong! Gotta heal the little buddy! "Rise n' shine. We got a bird to fight... Again."

"Hello darkness my old friend..." He sang as he peered into the abyss. "I got one shot again~" He frowned. Staring at his Chimchar watching its unconscious form. He sighed. Perhaps it was time he leveled up a bit. A beefier Pokemon meant surviving longer after all. But then again... Winning against that Rufflet at a low level would be quite an achievement! A grinned. Time to go again!
