Once more they failed. Once more they lost against a baby bird. But they weren't done yet. He and Wukong would win! He swore it. Truth be told, this was the most fun he had in a while. Who knew pokemon games could be so fun? And challenging! It was definitely and experience... So as he wished for his Chimchar to heal. He prepared to finish the fight.

She takes a deep breath, breathing in the cold Timberlands air. That air that is full of mist, and that somehow, even after all that has happened, still carries a faint yet unmistakable scent of lavender. Especially here. Here where the seeds had been. Here where the princess' power had once bloomed and overtaken everything.
Is it just her imagination?
Is it wishful thinking?
Tuesday stares at the swirling energy of the abyss, and when doing so, her hands gently clap together as they had done so many times before. Her eyes close then, and although there are no words, there's a strong sentiment.

Tamara had been to the Precipice Shrine in Misty Timberland before, but only ever for healing purposes. When it came to changing a Pokemon’s form, she wasn’t quite sure how it worked.
“Well, presumably it works similarly to healing,” Tam mused, speaking to the Ponyta at her side. Marzipan’s head bobbed in a nod, and the pair approached the chasm. Settling at the precipice, small, pink flowers carpeting the perimeter, the teen gazed down into the pit.
“We’d like to change Marzi here into his Galarian form,” she called into the void, feeling a little foolish. “I hear you can help with that?”
The Ponyta nickered a laugh, amused by the teen’s awkward request. <Smooth.>

Tuesday sits right by the Precipice as she has done so many times before, and as she sits, she waits. She waits for the right time.
It's not a matter of how many people may pass by or how many Pokémon are seeking the shrine's healing, you see. She couldn't care less about who else is here or how many witnesses there might be — she never had. It is, however, a matter of the day leading into the night, because nighttime is indeed the right time.
The right time for a sacrifice.

The last battle had been a rough one, but they’d survived it! With quite literally no health, sure, but also with an additional Duraludon in her inventory. Now the question was, should she do one more search, or head straight over to Professor Ash to turn in the offerings.
She pondered the entire time she lingered at the edge of the yawning chasm. By the time her team were healed, the teen was no closer to a decision. Plus, she was fairly certain it was almost time for dinner.
“I’ll decide later,” she… decides? Standing, then logging out with a few taps of the UI.

It is a very long and painful trek to the nearest shrine. When he tries to head to the shrine supposedly in the steppes, a trainer there informs him that it’s defunct. Hence, why he’s made it here instead.
“I’m sorry, I'm sorry...” he mumbles, cradling Gumball in his arms, sitting at the edge of the abyss. The popplio sleeps peacefully, oblivious to his guilt. He's snuggled up against his jacket, wounds slowly disappearing from his bright blue body. Saint stays there, his legs dangling off the edge, waiting for his friend to heal. He dreads to think of how many more times this has to happen before both of them are strong enough to fend for themselves.

Once night fades, the Alchemist stands, smoothing down her clothes and looking into the depths of the chasm. In the darkness, the Psychic energy that swirls along the rim of the shrine gains an ominous tone, shining mysterious and full of empty promises beneath the pale light of the moon. "Ancile."A Cryogonal emerges from among evergreens, holding something in the cold grasp of his chains. An egg. An egg that those chains carefully and securely wrap around. An egg as gelid as the Cryogonal's icy grasp. Even Tuesday herself has something to hold, but unlike the silent and unmoving egg, when the DUCKLETT is summoned, it attempts to break free, squirming and writhing and squawking and screaming for its freedom. Still, Tuesday does not let go. She isn't bothered at all. Her FREEZER grasp is as cold as that of the Cryogonal, and in her mismatched gaze there is no empathy, mercy, or even remorse over what she's about to do. When she speaks, it's not to the Ducklett she holds, her sweet soprano being ever-so-calm and even-toned: "O Precipice. O Abyss. O bringers of the all-consuming mist. King of Frost and fallen lady of delusions and dreams.
May the cycle remain unbroken. May the new life that rises from this egg be fierce and strong. May she be as steadfast as she is Cruel.
For this, I pray. Feast, Precipice." It doesn't even take a second before she feels it: the Psychic energy that reaches for the Ducklett. In the moonlight, it rises in swirling tendrils, wrapping around the small Pokémon and tightly grabbing onto it as if a living and breathing being holding onto its prey. The Ducklett grows silent then. Muted. It never stops squirming, but there's nothing it can do against the force of the Precipice, not even when Tuesday lets go and simply watches as the tendrils consume the Pokémon. They wrap around and around and around, and then... Then the Ducklett pops in a flurry of baby blue feathers. It disappears. Devoured by the Precipice. A sacrifice for the future of the egg that now pulsates with life. Galarian Articuno, the Cruel Pokémon. TUESDAY sacrifices ducklett to the Precipice Shrine

M'Foxy bounced in place. "This is it, Gex!" She said, excitedly. "Deja vu- just like in The Matrix!" She spun in a little twirl. "The Smiths have edited the world around us- so they're desperate. There's a chance for us to use this, Gex."
Reinvigorated, she ran off again.

"He thinks I don't know what handwraps are?" M'Foxy asked, bewildered. "Begginstrips? Bacon flavored dog treats? Hello?" She looked at Gex, who did his best attempt at a shrug. "You too?!" She huffed. "Everyone's a critic."

He’s steaming out here. Kazuki executes a knee slide to get to the edge of the shrine as fast as possible, perhaps a little unhinged after spending a good portion of his supposedly ‘feel good’ training session malding his ass off and humiliating himself and also being therapized against his will. He heals up as fast as possible before bolting out of there, not even noticing the flowers that get trampled and suddenly wilt under his feet.

"Ka- oh whatever," M'Foxy sighed, only catching the tail end of her most spicy beloved friend. She looked over the shrine, taking in the misty air and dead flowers. It really was a solemn place- and one she wasn't too fond of. But... what was to be done? The nearer shrine had been carried of by a giant chicken.

The Precipice Shrine is full of memories. Memories of past events and memories of who she has been until now — memories of the grand majority of Tuesday's days in UNOVR. When looking into that abyss and seeing the swirling energy that surrounds it, she can't help but think back... back to a time before that energy was there, when lavender blooms surrounded the shrine and brought dreams to both people and Pokémon alike. And even to a time before that, when the shrine slumbered and there was only mist here. There are days when she wishes she could go back, but Tuesday knows that even in this game, the only true way is forward. That's why she finally reaches up and carefully takes off the circlet she has worn since she first stepped into the Timberland, that same circlet that she stole from a slumbering princess before she had any idea who truly was slumbering in that casket. That casket lies empty now, only ever used by the likes of orioncayge, but even with the princess gone, Tuesday holds the circlet as if it truly were precious to her. In many ways, it is, and she also fucking resents it."Looks like it's time for some changes, huh?"If the Precipice Shrine can change, so can this circlet, and truth be told, so can Tuesday."See you next Tuesday."That one needs no explaining.

She returns once the change has been made: that circlet she had stolen from the Precipice Princess no longer being a circlet. It's attached to a blade now; a dagger that awaits sheathed at Tuesday's belt. She leaves it there, silently staring into the darkness of the chasm.
Tuesday herself has changed; still a cat, but much taller. Armoured, wearing an elegant cape of white feathers and carrying her Immovable Spear with her. A cat of eyes that gleam as gold as all objects touched by her Alchemist blessings.
"I'll be back soon." She promises, smiling faintly.

Verai stood at the edge, Ta'si at his side. It isn't a simple abyss," He said, feeling the stray reaches against his skin, something trying to grab hold. Not a grasp, but the faint wisp of candle-smoke. There was something there, below, that was trying to coax him down.
He would find out- of that, he was certain- but it would not be today.

He had come all the way from the Steppes to the Precipice Shrine to heal since the shrine of the former is gone now, and this one is definitely much closer than the one in the Birchwild. There's no religious aspect to this visit; it's purely a matter of need: he'll get his Pokémon healed and return to the Steppes.
That's when the message arrives, and when Yuze looks at it in his UI, his tongue clicks.
"Already?"
It's time to go back.
