Finnegan Fjord narrows his eyes at the moon-spirit.
"Chanda Mama, that's kind of lame; you didn't explain the rules of your game." His childhood had not been a kind one. He's never learned the rules of Simon Says, unlike the luckier players in diva and Tuesday. "How are we meant to abide by things that we have never tried?"
Turning his attention to manish, expression wholly apologetic, he adds, "No, not the worst; you were the best. Your HP was higher than the rest."
That proves to no longer be true. It was lowest, now, apart from rival Allotta Bambooga's.
Finnegan Fjord seems to be growing more accustomed to the rhyming game as they progress, no longer as snarky or irritable as he'd been at the start. It's silly, yes, but also kind of entertaining. He's not as good as the others, but that's all right.
The only Decidueye he's ever seen is Omen, so he's awed by its sudden presence atop his stone.
It was time for battle.
"Emperor, let's make it rain! Ramp up Croc' to bring the pain!
The named PIPLUP cheeps flapping its tiny wings as it stirs up a small RAIN DANCE to shower CROCONAW.
"Caiman, coat your jaws in ice! Make that grass bird pay the price!"
CROCONAW, who had been entirely docile throughout the proceedings, suddenly perks up and grins with its sharp teeth gleaming in the moonlight. It lunges toward diva's RUFFLET and attempts to snap those jaws shut with an ICE FANG. It doesn't stop at one. Twice, three times, and then again, savage in its mission to carry out its trainer's order.
"OK, Monarch, you're up next! Gyarados' turn to get wrecked! Time to bring some thunder down; we're gonna win that spirit's crown.
SHINX attempts a mighty roar, but she's only a kitten and manages only an adorable meow. Still, it has the desired outcome, a violent THUNDERSHOCK streaking toward Bergamot Gristleborg's GYARADOS.

Manish was quite surprised when it was all done to see that he was, well, alive. He really assumed that they were actually voting to kill, not just to damage. If itâs just to damage someone, well, that doesnât seem quite so bad. Well, that wasnât quite true. The giant dog thing attacking him was horrifying. He was so glad that he had immediately turned on reduced damage. He checked over each of his pokemon and they all seemed to be alright, so at least there was that. But that nice feeling was short lived with the owl drawing his bow. Now he had to pick a pokemon to get hurt? He definitely couldnât do that. Manish was about to volunteer himself up again, but he was cut off by Narrator jumping between him and the Decidueye. <I am Manishâs righteous trek And it is my duty to keep him in check. For him I would gladly pay the price And I will make this noble sacrifice!>Manish gasped as the starry arrow pierced Narrator, knocking the pokemon out, his now pale body dropping to the ground in front of him. Manish leaned forward to bring Narrator close to his chest next to Cereal. âI really donât think I am a hero, but for you Iâll try to not be a zeroâ he whispered to his little fox. Lucy glared at the pokemon in the circle. All of them were her enemy now, whether Manish wanted to admit it or not. And if Chanda Mama wanted her to attack? Well, she would hate to go against the words of the moon. <Bossman is too nice to attack, But you hurt him so I wonât hold back. Iâm gonna give you such a smack!> Lucy yelled as she charged Finnegan Fjordâs Croconaw after it finished itâs own attack, the leaf blades on her arms sparkling in the moonlight. LUCY uses LEAF BLADE on CROCONAW. It's SUPER EFFECTIVE! Never one to be left out of a fight, Cereal shifted himself out of Manishâs hold and took his place standing in front of his trainer. Unlike Lucy, though, he wasnât quite so picky with who he was wanting to attack. Instead, he wanted to take out whoever was the biggest threat to him. Afterall, if he was knocked out he couldnât protect Manish, and they were going to do whatever it took to keep Manish safe. And seeing as how the teary man was actively trying to take himself out, they had their work cut out for them. After scanning the group, Cerealâs large, unblinking eyes landed on Allotta Bamboogaâs Wurmple. He knew of that Wurmple, it was known for causing a lot of damage. Cereal didnât really want to give it the chance to attack him. A pink energy started to gather at Cerealâs mouth as his low-level droning grew louder and louder. Once enough psychic energy was gathered he blasted Psybeam at the Wurmple. CEREAL uses PSYBEAM on WURMPLE. For his part, Manish was still sitting against a stone with Narratorâs increasingly pale form pressed close to his chest. Chanda Mama was really playing them for fools and Manish had a sinking feeling that he would fall for all of Chanda Mamaâs tricks. {STATS AND DAMAGE} LUCY // SCEPTILE // SWEEPER 210/250LUCY uses LEAF BLADE on Finnegan Fjord 's CROCONAW nlk1LG4t4d20+160(10 Rarity + 20 Super Effective + 5 Grass Pokemon + 5 Grass Moves) x4 Fast Attack CEREAL // ESPURR // TANK 490/500CEREAL uses PSYBEAM on Allotta Bambooga 's WURMPLE 1d150+10(10 Rarity) Charge Attack NARRATOR // ZORUA // SUPPORT 0/250Knocked out by Decidueye MANISH 375/1000 4d20+160¡1d150+10

Allotta makes an indignant noise at being called out by the little pixie sprite moon. She also gets gored by a celestial bull. It sucks. Since she has realistic settings, I would go into more details about that but my brain is fried from work today. So I'm phoning a little bit of this in.
The weird bird ends up striking down her Sobble. Blue takes a dramatic fall for her which is beautiful and touching. Also probably really sad. She'll cry tears in real life over it.
It just serves to piss her off even more as she cradles her limp Sobble in her arms.
"I've decided that you can't tell me what to do! This is a mistake that you will stew!
I can't play if you're just being tricky! You're just a sourpuss and being picky!
So now, Chanda Mama, I'll make my own rules! Chanda Mama, I'm about to be your ferule!
I'm sure this will bite me in the ass! But I'm tired of your silly sass!
Come, Sparkler, and blast this pixie! Light it's ass so it's kicky-wicksy!
(Also, for reference, I'm not rhyming for you. I can't stop; it's like some wicked hoodoo.)"
The Litten was tossed forward. Allotta shone with all her bright and powerful Kindler energy, firing up the feline. A series of Embers shot from her mouth as Allotta cackled from her stone. She ended up squeezing GUN in her hand, causing a healing accupuncture shower of Poison Sting to shoot out at Tuesday 's Petilil. Whoops.

âIt fits the bit! Tuesday's filled with wicked wit!â In case itâs not obvious by now, Tuesday has an ego, and because she does, sheâs actually pleased to hear the words of Bergamot Gristleborg. Yes, sheâs the very best. Yes, she has wicked wit. But⌠wait⌠doesnât that mean Morgana wants her to die?!
Well, thatâs just rude, isnât it?!
Just as Tuesday is about to rap her obviously extremely witty and admittedly somewhat aggressive response, the moon decides to intervene, and of course she does so spectacularly. With a giant dog! Is that supposed to be Canis Major? Thereâs something vaguely familiar about it, so itâs probably a Gen I pokĂŠmon. Whatever the case, one thing is clear: itâs rabid.
Virtual as this form may be, fangs and claws dig into skin. Itâs the worst thing Mars has ever dealt with, but the pain does cause a gasp, wincing, and frowning â every single ounce of willpower existing within the Spaniard being used so Tuesday remains standing. As should only be expected, at this point, thereâs also anger.
But, wait! Thereâs more!
âTo avoid this massacre you should have called on Eninacra." Getting thrown around by a bull is perhaps the worldâs greatest irony. Tuesday would think so, at least, if she were in the condition to be thinking of anything. Everything hurts. She feels dizzy, lightheaded, and confused, to the point that she canât help but wonder if itâs possible for MMO characters to get concussions.
"For fuckâs sakeâŚ" Oh right, the rhyming! Sheâs not out of the game yet! Holding onto the stone pillar, Tuesday actually manages to stand up, and naturally, she immediately points an accusatory finger at Chanda Mama. "What you just did was a mistake."
So what? She knows well the creepy moon NPC can easily boot her out of the game if it so wishes.
âChanda Mama, tu devrais ĂŞtre dĂŠsolĂŠ, y crĂŠeme, esto no es hipĂŠrbole. This is a game we all can play. Don't stand around, cause some dismay! By the end, you'll be saying 'ÂĄOlĂŠ!'" Her Cryogonal, ever loyal, seems to intend to shield her from the deadly arrow aimed her way, but when Tuesday looks around at the pokĂŠmon of the other participants, she gets a completely different idea. See, her terrified Petilil had been clinging to her leg all this time, but when Allotta Bamboogaâs worm fires its barrage of poisonous barbs, the pokĂŠmon lets go, suddenly seeming calm. Healing poison? Thatâs a new one. Curious, Tuesday plucks one of the barbs off the Petililâs tiny body, putting it away to be studied later. And then⌠then she punts the grass type forward with a kick fitting of a fĂştbol striker.
The Petilil meets the owlâs arrow.
âGOL.â A wicked smirk marks the catgirlâs lips once more, and then she proceeds to deliver another limerick, pointing at Bergamot Gristleborg and then at diva too:
"If you want to be a star you should shine some more. So, Ancile, use Night Slash to settle this score. And since out here there is no sol, Let's aim for Diva, though she's a real doll. Aesop, use Fire Spin! Sing our songs of will and war!" And so, Tuesdayâs will is brought to life by her remaining pokĂŠmon, starting off with the Cryogonalâs ice chains, which shoot out towards Bergamot Gristleborg's MUDKIP, striking with force (or so we can hope?). Then the Fennekin leaves its mark, howling a psychic attack towards divaâs NIDORAN.

Things were finally beginning to heat up as people finally began to lose their health bars due to mistakes. She had been right. She could feel herself exhale hard as the moon in the sky decided that both her and Tuesday were the technical winners here. At least for now. But as the other's took their licks she stood firmly against the stone she had been assigned, not wanting to leave it even for a moment. The rules were the rules after all.
But then, for some reason, the other players were perhaps deciding that she was a little bit of a threat. But... That didn't mean she was going to go down without a fight. That was for sure. This was what she had been expecting. But, that also meant that her plans needed to be changed a little bit as an arrow raced towards her and Finnegan Fjord declared an attack on her Rufflet. There was only one thing that she could do to not lose two Pokemon in one go.
"On wings you're almost a stranger, Garnet please protect me from danger."
She'd initially been planning on sacking her tank Pokemon, to take the hit on HP and gain a boon. But if she didn't let the Rufflet take the arrow she'd lose two Pokemon in round one and that just couldn't be afforded. So up the Rufflet flew, it's body diving in front of the other flying types arrow. Meaning that the body Croconaw munched on was already passed out. A save for now. But who knew what would happen in the rest of this round, or in the next. Tuesday was the next person to try their luck on attacking her and vaguely Diva wondered if killing a player in this round meant they were out forever if they didn't have any other Pokemon left.
"If you think I'm such a doll, Really that feels like such a stall. Let me show you that I'm not fake, I'll hurt you till your bones ache."
And with that her Pokemon began to attack, one after the other. The point of this round was to lose the most HP which meant leaving Finnegan Fjord alone was the biggest punishment she could give him really. But, Allotta Bambooga also had an idea of what was supposed to be done... meaning that attacking Tuesday would be the best bet. There was no way in hell she was about to attack manish after he thought he deserved to die the last round. Something she also blamed on Finnegan Fjord ... So Sapphire the Sobble struck at Tuesday 's Fennekin in a bit of retaliation and Allotta Bambooga 's GUN wurmple with NidoranF. That healer was going to get out of the way.

Morgana didn't need a special boon for having her Pokemon be the most bloodied in the sudden flurry of round-robin violence. She already had a star for being #1, and she certainly wasn't giving it to a fainted Pokemon (Piplup) who couldn't even appreciate it. She wasn't sure whether that fell under the rules of selfishness or not, but she wouldn't risk it just yet.
So as Guillotine lay fainted in the dust with an arrow through her heart, Bergamot's Gyarados orbited above her head, trailing from the top of her standing stone like a giant ponytail. The size display glitch it had used to have had been reported during the High Tide Raid, so it was back to its normal, easily targetable size.
It was no surprise Finn's Shinx sent a Thundershock arching their way.
It was no surprise Tuesday's Cryogonal lashed out as well, after being marked for death.
Morgana the 100% support player gave a low, menacing laugh as she pulled the world's least surprising ace from her healer-build sleeve.
"Rainbow, Jack, buff yourselves! Before Guillotine's remains begin to smell!"
Guillotine almost came back from the dead to give Morgana a Look, like maybe she should be a little more grateful for the penguin's efforts at towing her all around the coastline during Beta before flying was banned. But Guillotine had been gunned down early by a Decidueye arrow, so there was no chance at Morgana facing social consequences.
In response to Morgana's order, both Gyarados and Mudkip shimmered with reflective light for a moment, appearing more formidable despite the damage they'd already taken.
"I summon thee with healing light! Heal these wounds of sparks and night! Singe the lightning-scars away Soothe the darkness, plus, be gay!"
<Peep?!>
"Don't be homophobic, Jack. ...I asked you to heal, not to talk back."
Rather than turning towards their opponents, Jack and Rainbow turned towards each other.
{MORGANA'S ULTIMATE HEALING MOVE} Heal on Gyarados (Water Gun) ogErScV34d12 + 40 (Buff) + 40 (Mudkip Rare) + 20 (Swimmer T2) = 129 TOTAL
Heal on Mudkip (Brine) 4d12 + 40 (Buff) + 40 (Blue Magikarp Rare) +20 (Swimmer T2) = 125 TOTAL As the duo shot healing jets of water over her head like firemen trying to put out a blaze, Bergamot called over the sputtering and dribbling sounds.
"Then, not to seem uninspired To show I'm listening (just tired) The tithe is paid, the blood is spent, The wounds of all are all well-meant Their stones are cold, their bonds are weak, What next does Chanda Mama seek?"

A brutal attack by manish's Sceptile, Lucy, sees Caiman the Croconaw collapse to the ground. A red light swallows him up, and Finnegan Fjord's HP bar shrinks considerably as a result. His expression pinches, lips pursed, but he says nothing; he had painted that target on his own back.
The circle spins again, showering Allotta Bambooga in riches â â a great time to be declared her partner. They were rivals, but incentivized to work together? A smirk dances across his lips. He can only hope that she continues to spit blazing beats.
"The dragon lived alone atop a hill.
"We must slay the beast," was the good knight's will.
The princess came to bring the dragon down.
The dragon presented her with a crown.
"Dear lady, won't you work with me instead?"
And so the princess brought the good knight's head.
The sting of betrayal was ever sweet."

A face was made at Allotta's own shrinking HP bar. The furious attacks from everyone else... couldn't they see she was trying to be their champion?! That damned moon was too smug! She wanted to kick it's ass!
There was a shower of gold and gems, which ended up with a huge diamond crammed in her cleavage and sparkling in the light; hand on her hips, she huffed and left it there. For the dramatics.
Finnegan Fjord was her partner... she gave the other a meaningful stare across the way. Their warrior's bond was understood. She knew what she had to do.
He started, she finished.
" In a tower the Princess yawns

Covered in jewels and oh so shiny
What the dragon gave her was not tiny
"I shall, for the castle is so droll!"
Knowing she would be free from father's control.
Even better was a kiss- for them both a treat."
She grinned smugly at the Moon, wicked in her own way. She gave it a wink to the creature before looking smug.
"I know you think that you're so clever. But do you know how to put our poems together?"

By this point, Tuesday has fully accepted her fate.
Have her Fennekin pass out after divaâs brutal attack? Sure, thatâs fine, he hadnât been all that useful anyway. Assign her to work with a stranger who had been â according to her â a pitiful opponent until a few seconds ago? Alright⌠A bit of a throwback to high school group projects, but she can deal with that. Take away a crucial letter? Not an issue! Good thing she goes by âTuesdayâ here, right?
She just has to use her killer leadership skills! Itâs fine! They got this!
Or, do they?
She gives the one that now goes by âmanishâ their plan of action, and once a sonnet has been spoken, she clears her throat and uses her UI to provide the needed background sounds, playing the air lute according to the tune while her Cryogonal spins as if it were dancing:
{THIS BALLAD'S TUNE} "A hero rode on Tuesday's eve, To a dark distant land. As anish sans capital, this ballad will not go as planned."
Like chirping birds with their whistling tones, itâs in a light soprano that she sings (thanks, voice changer), and once her first quatrain has been sang, she awaits for Anish to intervene.
An eye roll later, Tuesday continues singing, her lute shredding also appearing being never-ending:
"Well... Tuesdays upon Tuesdays passed, and the capital our hero didn't find. It is a tale that saddens us, for up there his loved one had been confined."
And what better way to end a ballad than with a duet, no? Even with manishâs now squeaky Selene voice:
"Like other bugs tend to do, the lack of his letter does sting, lost love surely can sting too, and the fact that we don't sing!"

Anish was struggling to get through Chandaâs challenges before he lost use of an entire letter, but there was no way he would drag Tuesday down as well. He never encountered her before and really didnât want this to be their first interaction. He recalled all of his upperclass training, all the lessons Father bestowed, and really hoped he wouldnât stutter his way through ruining the beautiful ballad she started. Lucy and Cereal shot each other a look and Lucy shrugged. If this was going to be a song, they were definitely going to help. Lucy started to pat out a beat on the stone behind Anish and Cerealâs droning tried to carry the tune. At Tuesday âs queue to go, he struggled to think of a few lines that fit what Chanda wanted. Stars singing? Okay, yeah, okay he could do that. Afterall, his parents were stars and, well, he couldnât actually think of an occasion where they sang together, but they did separately! Did it have anything to do with Tuesdayâs beginning? Well, no, but he was just excited that he thought of anything at all to sing. âI have stars for parents, And as Father once did sing, Iâll do the thing for you, A starâs child has a nice ringâHis voice was still that of Chandaâs and, well, it wasnât that great sounding. Higher pitched than he was used to, squeaky, and just all around not that pleasant to listen to, but it was all he had. He was in awe of Tuesday, though. She didnât appear to have any issues and she sounded really nice. Anish hoped that after everything was over she would want to be his friend. Of course that was if they both survived. And he didnât ruin this for her, that was a pretty key part in all of this as well. But he was up again to contribute and he desperately tried to recall what else they needed to include. Dragons? Was that it? Or was it stinging? Was it both? Anish hugged the knocked out Narrator closer as he struggled to figure it out. Well, there was only one type of dragon that stung that he knew about: dragonflies. âThen thereâs the greatest love of all, between two dragonflies. Whose sharp, serrated teeth do bite, When their other half criesâHe wasnât sure at first, but Anish was really starting to get into it. He forgot that they were in a weird death challenge and that Narrator was down for the count. He started to sway side to side, letting the ballad flow through to carry the duo through the final verse together. âLike other bugs tend to do, The lack of his letter does sting, Lost love surely can sting too, And the fact that we donât sing.â Anish couldnât help the goofy grin that took over his face at the ballad. A troop of fungus grew all around out of joy. {THE FULL BALLAD}A hero rode on Tuesday's eve, To a dark distant land. As Anish sans capital, this ballad will not go as planned.
I have stars for parents, And as Father once did sing, Iâll do the thing for you, A starâs child has a nice ring

Morgana gasped involuntarily as pink ribbons unfurled from the center of her chest, lashing and tangling with those of the woman on the far side of the stone circle. While the effect was mostly visual, she couldn't help but imagine some kind of pain, some pressure, some tug at the heartstrings connecting her with diva. But she was not the type to show weakness. When all the others had finished, she made the first move. A question. A challenge. They were the star-crossed, the bearers of the fallen constellations. She was sure they hadn't just been connected by accident. This was fate. This was destiny. Not to be togetherâ to see which one of them deserved to stand at the top. "Turn your gazes to the heavens, Crawling, clustered, star and shine Who loves who? And what divides them? I've told your part: now tell me mine."The order rang out, and after her partner answered, Bergamot spoke back up almost immediately, her voice high, clear, ringing with challenge. A strange triumph shone in her eyes, as if she was actually trying to goad diva into playing her part of the story. "I have stepped through starry skyfields, I've never seen a drake so shy The birds and bees themselves will steal Your chance, you need not even try."Before Diva could reply, Bergamot stole a second stanza, gesturing animatedly. "Sing for me, o wingless Draco Answer me: but at what cost? Scorpio's tail could be your ladder, Pray, bear the sting before he's lost."After Diva responded in kind, Bergamot's eyes strayed from her partner as she turned towards the 'audience' - the moon-spirit and the other competitors. She held her star in one hand like a beacon. "And so was said, through doom and dread Though Scorpio twinkled overhead, Ne'er the bold, he bowed his head. The wingless Draco fell instead."
"So let my words sting, one last time: Answer thus, by pain of rhyme One last conclusion, I beseech: What ending will our hero reach?"One final question rang out into the night, going unanswered. Morgana's smile curved like a crescent moon. She had a feeling the answer, whatever it was, had yet to be decided.

The idea of being attached to anyone by the heart other than Nikoli was a painful thing really. Especially considering this was a lady that she had no interest in. But luckily this was just a game, and she listened careful to the rules as her fingers touched the ribbon. So they had to... Wait? Was the other woman already starting? And attacking Diva? It seemed strange to go for the throat since they were supposed to work together. And since it seemed like the other pairs had been kind to one another. But she wasn't going to lose here.
Clinging to the star in her arms she turned her nose up to answer.
"Though I look towards the sky, My love I refuse to accept. Unlike Icarus I refuse to fly, Tell me now where have you stepped? "
It seemed as though the intended to go back and forth.
"Birds and bees might be thieves, For both they love the sun. Though you comment quite with ease, I'm not the one to run."
"The moon can never catch the sun, And claws too large to hold. Perhaps for scorpio I am not the one, Perhaps I'm not so bold."
Catching her breath a little bit she wondered how many people knew she was in love with someone she shouldn't be... Maybe this was Felicity's account? This did seem like something she would do.
Together they made something of a poem she thought. Maybe it would be enough to push them through this round as well.
"Turn your gazes to the heavens, Crawling, clustered, star and shine Who loves who? And what divides them? I've told your part: now tell me mine."
"Though I look towards the sky, My love I refuse to accept. Unlike Icarus I refuse to fly, Tell me now where have you stepped? "
"I have stepped through starry skyfields, I've never seen a drake so shy The birds and bees themselves will steal Your chance, you need not even try."
"Sing for me, o wingless Draco Answer me: but at what cost? Scorpio's tail could be your ladder, Pray, bear the sting before he's lost."
"Birds and bees might be thieves, For both they love the sun. Though you comment quite with ease, I'm not the one to run."
"The moon can never catch the sun, And claws too large to hold. Perhaps for scorpio I am not the one, Perhaps I'm not so bold."
"And so was said, through doom and dread Though Scorpio twinkled overhead, Ne'er the bold, he bowed his head. The wingless Draco fell instead."
"So let my words sting, one last time: Answer thus, by pain of rhyme One last conclusion, I beseech: What ending will our hero reach?"

Anish grinned shyly at his lap while Chanda praised their efforts. Everyone did such a good job, even he thought that with Tuesdayâs help their ballad was at least funny. Chanda liked it enough to award everyone with a feast, so Anish was taking that as a good sign. But what should he choose? He really didnât want to pick a dish anyone else wanted, but thanks to Bunya and his recent decision to not eat food that originated with a living creature, his options were fewer than he liked.
His eyes scanned each thing and there were a few options that were clearly creature based, a lot he wasnât sure about, and only one or two that he was sure were vegetarian.
âIf no one else wants the dish, Ten would be the wish, Since it has no flesh And looks pretty fresh.â
Anish then realized that Chanda said they got to give a dish to another. He had no idea what anyone else would want, but he felt like he should give one to Tuesday for really doing the work on their ballad.
âAs for the gift to another, I guess Iâll give it to the other, Who helped with the ballad And I really hope this is valid, But could Tuesday have six? I really hope these arenât tricks.â
Would Tuesday be offended by his choice? He had no idea what the dish was, but it looked cozy in the way that a dish could be when itâs rainy and hot food was needed.
Anish sat back with his choice, not actually touching the food he chose. He wanted everyone else to have theirs first before he started eating, it was only polite after all.
