Postings around town had been mysteriously hung in the dead of night, asking for assistance in a scientific experiment. Should someone have actually taken the offer and showed up just outside Professor Ash's lab, they'd find a young girl standing outside. Of course, she'd wait till everyone had arrived before actually beginning. "Good afternoon, brothers and sisters and everyone else in between." The teenage girl spoke up, speaking with a calm, confident tone. Dressed in a white labcoat atop her rather youthful attire and a pair of safety goggles atop her head, the young girl stood as tall as she could for one so short. "I'm glad you all managed to find my request for help, thank you for coming." She would clear her throat, speaking up. "For those unaware or don't remember me, lost within the plethora of siblings we all apparently share, I'm Ruby. Or, perhaps for today you can call me Dr. Ruby. I have been entrusted by Professor Ash with the blueprints and documentation on how to construct a Fossil Revival Machine." She'd pull out a manilla folder from beneath her arm, setting it atop a folding table that had been set up just beside her. Within, she reveals one of the blueprints for the device.
"As you can see, we are missing every component of this construction. But fear not, I have been instructed that everything should be reliably found within town. Construction crews have been coming and going and they have left a plethora of waste. For our purposes, however, much of this construction waste is perfectly reusable for our needs. Much better that we recycle and waste we can than leave an ever-growing junkyard. Though it seems some Pokemon prefer that environment..." She grows quiet for just a second, seemingly contemplating this before once again speaking. "The task of collecting the materials required for construction is entirely up to you all. For my part, I will be within the lab and beginning work on the only unlisted ingredient from the blueprint, the Chemical Components. They appear to help fuel the growth of the fossilized specimens. It's possible I'll be missing some specific samples for that as well, but we will cross that bridge when we approach it." She'd clear her throat once again, eyes scanning the individuals who had decided to offer their time to assist. "So, any questions?" Maximum of 4 Participants! Please post an IC reaction for your sign-ups!
Mechanics:
Each round, you and your Pokémon will be searching, upgrading, or building specific components required for the Fossil Revival Machine. Each Component will have a specific point total required for completion. Each post, you will roll a 1d6, and gain x10 points based on your roll. These are your Luck Points. You will also be gaining a flat +10 points for every narrative element that you describe that assists you in the process. Whether it is specific Pokémon moves helping you find something, a trainer class ability, or something else that makes sense. You can gain a maximum of +30 in total per post. These are your Skill Points. A player who makes a point out of cooperating with another, assisting the actions from their post may gain a flat +10 points! These are Teamwork Points. Please try and discuss your actions together! There may be additional rules and challenges added, as the Scenario progresses.

Though he politely waits for her to finish speaking, Finn's response is telling.
"You had me at 'fossils', doc. I'm in."
See, a young Cillian Quinn might've become an archaeologist or paleontologist if not for the overbearing influence of his family. They'd forced him from his desired career path of delving into ancient histories and mysteries to something far more sinister. But the passion for such things remained within him, and if he had to live out his fantasies in a video game instead of in his real life? So be it.
Burgeoning scientist Finnegan Fjord was up to the job.
"Just one question: where should we start?"
His eyes gleam with excitement.

"Fossil Revival Machine? Sounds like part of my daily facial routine!" Buzzster said, laughing at his hilarious joke and giving Finnegan Fjord a conspiratorial elbowing as the little doctor continued her well-informed explanation. He leaned in close and slipped on his reading glasses as she revealed her blueprints.
"Well ain't that somethin' and a half," he said, nodding at the cute little design. "Love the wheels! Looks like a snow machine! Are you sure this this isn't what killed the dinosaurs?" He laughed again, filling the meeting with his booming excitement.
"Count me in too! I've got a feeling this is something big," he said, rubbing his hands together. "And if you can Dr. Hammond us up a dino or two with just a few pieces of locally-sourced scrap then that's a better bloody magic trick than any I've ever done!"

"Ayo foreal?" Orion found himself squinting at the diagram, appraising each part carefully with a well studied eye. "Me and the fam are like, kings at reviving old shit. My Uncle has a whole arcade of ancient 80's cabinets and shit. Hell, the care I drive was made in the 80's, shit, my pops was made in the 70's. That's all to say, Cayge's got shit sorta shit on lock." He would hem and haw at some of the designs a bit before nodding.
"Reclaimin it from scrap too? It's like you up and learned how to speak my language. I'm down to clown like Pagliacci homie, point me in a direction and say go and it'll be on like Donkey Fucking Kong."
He'd turn over to look at the other two guys ready to throw their hats into the ring and squinted at both of them. He wasn't super familiar with either of them, but hey, it was always good to make new friends.
"Names Orion ya'll pleasure to be working with you."

"I'm all about science," said the fashionably late Bergamot Gristleborg, who had never shown any particular interest in science before. Like her misguided uncle, Buzzster Hooperham, she was a practitioner of magic. Not Zac's type of stage magic, hilarious though it might be. No, Chryssa had a magic of in-between things. Of connections. Of certainty in her purpose, and certainty in those around her. It was the magic that made you wonder if everything in the universe truly was random, or if someone above had a higher plan. That someone was probably Chryssa herself, but there was a fine line between believing she knew what she was doing and the realization that she just enjoyed seeing what kind of chain reactions she could cause if she put her mind to it. It was probably a bad sign for the project that her avatar, Bergamot Gristleborg, was among those who'd answered Ruby's call. She was as likely to sabotage the operation as she was to lend her aid, though in this case, it did seem like helping out would be the more interesting course of action. Open-world games were so tedious. The illusion of choice offered little for Morgana—she preferred plot. Even if she wasn't necessarily the mastermind behind it. "I'm going to start at Mom's House," Bergamot announced, voice as clear and crisp as a can of Coors Light. She gesticulated towards the blueprints offhandedly, as if closer scrutiny wasn't needed. "I've seen training wheels just like that in the garage. Left over from one of our childhoods, probably."
Let the scavenging begin!

Ruby's eyes scan the small crowd that had gathered in front of her. It felt almost a little surreal, being the head of something so obviously important. Not just to the Professor, but presumably to the game and the rest of the players as a whole. She had no idea who any of these people were, but she sure hoped she could trust them.
They all certainly seemed excited to get started, anyways. "I'm sure this didn't harm any dinosaurs. Although perhaps you'll be able to ask them yourselves later!" She responds to Buzzster Hooperham , thoroughly enjoying his jokes. "And if you are as any good as you say you are orioncayge with repairing arcade machines, then I take it we have the right members of the team for the job! Your technical skills will certainly be of use."
She'd politely nod her head, hands placed down atop the blueprint as she began. In response to Finnegan Fjord 's question, the young scientist simply smiled widely. "There are a few prime locations that I believe might have what we are looking for."
"Firstly," She'd motion out towards the settlement. "There are a few construction zones not too far from here, just around the block. We have been given permission to scrounge around for spare parts, so long as we don't damage the construction sites themselves, I believe."
She'd hum in thought again, seemingly debating before speaking. "Of course, general waste is deposited in a small junkyard of its own. Should you struggle to find anything in the construction sites, I would suggest looking there. Although I confess, it probably stinks and likely has attracted some fairly unique Pokemon, but it could be worth the effort."
Bergamot Gristleborg does bring up a good point, however. "Or, perhaps a few of you can visit Mom's House! She might have a few old spare and broken appliances she wouldn't mind donating. Just make sure to ask first. I don't want to go home to sleep and have her upset that her coffee machine went missing! Oh, but uh, please don't touch the PC in the bedroom. It does actually work."
"With that out of the way, I suggest you split up into teams! Some of these parts might be pretty heavy after all, and it's important to work together! You all can go together to the same place but that is up to you all!"
She pulls up from behind the small table a box of gloves, hard hats, and even a few bright safety vests! They weren't required, but it was better than getting your own hands filthy! Borrowed from the nearby construction NPCs, of course. They all seemed so willing to help out.
Along with that were a few clipboards with lists of various examples of things that could potentially be what they were looking for.
{Clipboard Note!}The Mechanical Components represent the functional elements. Bunsen burners, engine parts, blenders, etc. The Scrap Components represent the raw materials. Empty propane tanks, nuts and bolts, soda cans, etc. The Electrical Components represent the wiring and inner workings. Computer parts, broken phones, batteries, etc. The Wagon represents a wagon.
Note: Some special materials may count as multiple types of components!)
"Well, let's get to work!" The young Dr. Ruby says smiling widely. "There's no time to waste, let's bring back the past!"

Zac nodded along as Ruby talks, his mind churning through the possibilities. "Construction workers sometimes leave their food lying around too. That can be helpful in a pinch," he added. "Junkyard isn't bad either, but watch out for rats in old boxes. One gave me a nasty nip once. Left one hell of a scar too! Can't show you though. That's a 'wedding night' scar, if you catch my drift."
As Ruby mentioned the idea of heading to their Mom's house, Buzzster's eyes lit up. It was a worrying look, as if he was about to pull something from somewhere, or saw someone in half for a hat full of quarters. "Great idea! Man has never known such a concentrated source of junk as what accumulates in an old garage."
"Teams?" Buzzster repeated, looking around. He gravitated to the shadiest looking player, squinting to read their nametag. "Finnegan Fjord ! You and me buddy. Let's raid Mom's house like she's out of town on business." He headed off in the direction of the communal starting home.
Five minutes later and Zac was pulling up the garage shutter. Light flooded in, illuminating a graveyard of household goods, boxes of memories, and even some old Christmas decorations. "Jackpot!"
Zac sent out both of his Pokemon: La Trixia the Vulpix and Petal the Chikorita. "Okay. Here's the plan. La Trixia, you're The Distraction. Get into the house and keep Mom busy. If she's coming send us a smoke signal."
"A smoke signal?"
"Set something on fire," Buzzster explained. "That should give us a few minutes to make our escape." He opened the door into the main house and Vulpix scampered inside, looking for Mom. Buzzster turned to Petal. "You're The Safe-Cracker. My hands are my money makers. I need a light touch for work so I can't go chipping my nails or scuffing up my pads. We need you to pry open all the goodies around here. Starting with this."
Zac walked over to an old lawn mower. "This beauty is the Husqvarna YTH18542. Any motor strong enough to power this much metal will be perfect! Now let me see what I can do."
He rested a hand on the faded orange shell, focussing all his Gardener powers. After a minute of tense waiting, a single daffodil popped out of the exhaust pipe. "Okay. No dice there. Petal! Get your vines in there and see what you can do!"
Chikorita approached the beast. The buds on her neck extended, snaking in through the exhaust port of the mower. "I can feel something...STICKY!"
"That's fuel residue. Perfect. Now can you.." Buzzster paused, searching for the right words. "Break it a little?"
Petal nodded, and there was a slow creeeeeeak from inside the machine before CRACK! The casing bent, as something inside was fatally displaced.
"Perfect! Now we can take the case off, disassemble it and bring all the bits back!" he found a wheelbarrow in the corner. He could feel the splinters on the ancient handles, just waiting to dig into his pristine skin. "You get to work on the mower while I find some gloves," he said to Petal. "Finnegan Fjord !" he called across the garage, "find anything good yet buddy?" Points: Luck Points = XYAwt8SW1d6x10

Buzzster Hooperham is polite. Finn is not.
"A rat bit your dick? Dude." Talk about unlucky.
For all Zac's misfortune, Finn seems all too eager to accompany him to Mom's House. "Now you're speaking my language."
The garage door rattles open, but Finn's sights are set on the backyard. Still, he's not going to leave Zac in the lurch, so he sticks around to root through some boxes set high upon the shelves. His Gyarados, Leviathan, proves more than capable of getting them down... albeit a little more crunched than how they'd started. It was probably fine, right? They were going to need a lot of materials.
"Are these batteries even good anymore?"
One of them is leaking, so he tosses it but keeps the rest.
"When we were in the backyard for the barbeque, I couldn't help but notice the pool." His eyes glint. "I can hold my breath forever, so I bet I can fuck up that pool filter real good."
For now, though, it seems Zac's in need of gloves.
"Oh, my outfit comes with gloves, I got you."
He wriggles his fingers as if in demonstration before stripping them off and tossing them over to the older man.
"I'm gonna go dismantle the filter."
He does so with Caiman's help, the Croconaw Chip(ping) Away at concrete to help him get better access. The trio of bubbles above his head never pop, for Swimmers are unable to drown.

SKILL +10 for Gyarados 'helping' retrieve boxes +10 for Swimmer ability (infinite breath) +10 for Croconaw 'Chipping Away' at the pool

"But it's boring if we ask," Bergamot said, disappointed. Their sister Ruby 's concerns about Mom's temperament were valid, considering she still lived at home, but 'asking Mom for permission' only had two results. One: she said yes, and they acquired the parts without a struggle. Two: she said no, and they either walked away disappointed or took it anyway, in which case there was no reason to ask to begin with. Could there be a third, more interesting option? A hostage crisis, perhaps?! "Ask forgiveness before permission!" she announced, linking muscular, Pokemon-punching arms with orioncayge . "I will be teaming up with this person. To Mom's House!"She stopped briefly to don a hard hat, safety vest, and worker's gloves (over her usual white gloves, naturally.) After a moment's thought, she also released guillotine flatflipper. "Guillotine, go to to the junkyard," she commanded, which earned her a side-eye. She shooed the Piplup impatiently. "You know exactly where I'm talking about, don't give me that. Science is waiting!" ...When they arrived at the cute, ordinary-looking house, Bergamot did not follow Buzzster Hooperham and Finnegan Fjord into the garage. Instead, she sailed straight up the front porch and through the doorway into the home. "Don't worry, I wouldn't dream of stealing anything without permission," she said to orioncayge , "A pity our siblings are not so forthright. Oh, there she is! Hello, mother." The cute, brown-haired woman was currently stooped over talking to a little Vulpix in the kitchen. "What? Bergamot! And Orion! What a pleasant surprise!" She straightened up, beaming. "Yes, I've brought my brother for a familial visit," Bergamot said, striking a pose next to Orion like an assistant showing off a particularly valuable prize in a game show. "I would love to chat and put out that small fire, but the situation is urgent. I've figured out how to break Father out of that prisoner of war camp.""Your father?" Mom cried, putting a hand up to her mouth. "A fire? Oh no!" "Yes, I need the training wheels in the garage," Bergamot explained as Mom beat out the sparks in her kitchen rug. "Sweetie, I can't tell you how many times I've tried to break him out already. The security's rock-solid! You'd probably need Arceus himself to break through their defensive perimeter," Mom said, opening a window to let out the smoke. "I don't see how some old training wheels are going to help.""Curses. She's smarter than I thought," Bergamot whispered to orioncayge. Mom straightened up. "Now, be honest with me," she said, looking between the two of them. No, she looked at Orion. Her expression was not accusatory—simply puzzled, and sincere. "...Orion, what's really going on?"Guillotine Flatflipper toddled through the little junkyard, avoiding junkyard Patrat where she could. She wove between stacks of rusty car parts and stinking heaps of Incongruous Goo left over from players' failed crafting attempts, searching for something that looked salvageable.
She came around a corner and found something even more incongruous than the goo— something Bergamot Gristleborg would have dearly liked to find, and was currently in the process of failing to obtain at this moment. It was a mountain of training wheels. At least 53 bikes' worth of them, enough to last the entire Beta Tester population through their fictional childhoods.
It seemed Mom had recently cleaned out her garage. (Probably to make room for even more training wheels.)
Guillotine stood before the pile, cocking her oversized penguin head back and forth. This was obviously what they were looking for, but trying to extract a single set of wheels like the ones needed for the wagon was like playing a dangerous game of pick-up-sticks. Who knew what would happen if the mountain of wheels came crashing down? They were wheels— given enough inertia, they could roll anywhere.
After a moment, it came to her. Guillotine pushed off the ground. Immediately, the normal 'gravity' physics became 'water' physics for the water-type Pokemon, as per Morgana's Swimmer ability. Paddling with her flippers, back feet churning the 'water' behind her, Guillotine zoomed up to the very top of the pile. A set of training wheels sat there like a cherry on top, sparkly pink ones decorated with faded stickers.
Jabbing it sharply with her beak, Guillotine loosened the rust and tangled spokes which held them in place. Using Peck, she bent wires and chipped away at the metal holding them in place— all the while managing to "float" above the pile treading water.
Seizing them in her back claws like a hawk snatching a rabbit, Guillotine pulled. LUCK POINTS2gIV5oed1d6 x 10 SKILL POINTS+10 for Swimmer Pokemon Ability +10 for Peck TEAMWORK POINTS+10 for working with Orion TOTAL+ 60 to Wagon (80/100) 1d6

Orion would voice zero complaints as Bergamot Gristleborg would link her arms around his and they'd walk nearly in lockstep unison towards mother's house. She looked...ridiculous, like the safety man had held her at gunpoint and demanded she put on her PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) at gunpoint. Orion was no bitch, and OSHA was full of hoes who just wanted you to have no fun at work so you wouldn't catch him dead in any bright neon clothing unless it was...Hold up, was that a Hi visibility bandanna?
Fucking sold.
The two would approach the house and Orion would let his "sister" take the lead in a classic negotiation technique. She would make some sort of outrageous demand/declaration and he would ask much much more reasonably. "We're working on a project for the professor, Ma." Orion would add as she asked him what was actually going on. "You know, the one who's a total fox? That one? Actually, she technically has us working under lil Sis Rubes, but that's splittin hairs. You mind if I root through your junk drawer for any of those old bits and bobs you keep around but don't actually need?"
"But what if your father comes back from Guantanamo and needs to charge his nokia?" Mother's eyes would widen. "I can't possibly part with that!" Orion would sigh, taking a few steps forward and would plant a smooch on his mother's forehead. "Mom, his Nokia still has at least 60% charge left, he won't need to charge that till you're both in your eighties. We're not taking anything important just..." he would ruffle through his pockets and squint. "Some bits and bobs for a wagon, some scrap to slap it all together, some mechanicaly bits to do the machining, and then your electrical cords to wire the whole thing together." Looking back to her he would give her an award winning smile.
The woman would give him a pensive look before sighing. "You're just like your father. Just make sure none of your tinkering gets you on a watch list! It's all down hill from there. And remember, history will vindicate Ted-"
"Yeah yeah." Orion would reply, deeply concerned that Hydance's maternal NPC was spouting pro unabomber propaganda. "Industrialization was the root of all evil I know mom." With that he would begin to root through the junk drawer, or at least, he would try but the damn thing was stuck! Some sort of backscratcher had wangjangled itself flipways in the drawer, prying the entire thing shut and blocking the path between Orion and the sweet rats nest of plastic and copper that was his mother's junk wire drawer.
"Ah hell nah." Orion would hiss, wiggling it open ever so slightly before THWAP, using his sick blackbelt skills he would karate chop the backscratcher, snapping it and allowing him to pry the drawer free. With the loot aquired, he would look back to Morgana and raise an eyebrow. "Go get the training wheels and see what else you can find! I'll see what I can manage to gleem by untangling all this..."
0Pn4wrAS1-6 Luck points Using Advanced negotiation techniques, Orion managed to make their request seem much more reasonable. +10? Invoking the name of The Lil Sis, (And a girl he liked? MOM'S HOUSE
As everyone but one single Pokemon hurried their way toward Mom's House, they might find that it was currently under a few basic renovations. Tarps cover the floors and painting supplies are scattered about. It seems the pale shade of blue that had been on the inside walls was being replaced with a pale shade of blue-green.
Definitely a better color choice, it matched the furniture better.
But it wasn't just paint, the porch in the backyard was currently under repairs. The kitchen countertops were brand new, and it looked like the tile flooring in the kitchen was in the middle of being replaced.
"Alright dears," Mom began, speaking to orioncayge and Bergamot Gristleborg . "I'll see what I can do to help! If it's to help out the Professor and Ruby, then I'm sure it's important. I'd offer my old washer and dryer, but I've already had them hauled to the junkyard when I upgraded! Maybe you guys can check there? I've been cleaning out the house for a while! But maybe you guys can check the garage? I've yet to throw out everything in there-"
Whatever she was going to say, it was interrupted by a loud sound echoing from the garage.
The sound of a Husqvarna YTH18542 revving up and sputtering to life.
Buzzster Hooperham 's Chikorita had snapped something vital inside the mower, but it didn't stop it from suddenly coming to life. A green glow suddenly began to surround the great machine as a face also began to materialize.
The Mow Rotom awoke in a very strange form of product placement, and it was not happy! This attempt at deconstruction was an attempted murder! It suddenly zoomed out of the open garage door, its engine and internal components making incredibly terrifying sounds. Crushing and grinding and clanking noises, actively destroying its own internals as it sped around in a downright panic.
Blade spinning like crazy, it began to speed around the property, slicing apart grass, sticks, power tools, and even a can of paint left outside, spraying obnoxious pink paint everywhere!
Mow Rotom will Destroy 1d6 Random Components each turn, until destroyed! Either its own parts or components collected already.
Mow Rotom can use one move on each turn to respond to your actions and actual combat and damage will simply be roleplayed lightly. However, it is worth noting that you can continue getting parts from it, as your attacks might be able to rip various components from it!
10 Electrical Components Destroyed! In the backyard, Finnegan Fjord takes apart the pool filter just in time to see a rampaging glowing green mower slam through the fence, spraying all kinds of grass, dirt, and wood splinters into the pool! Not that it would get clean anymore with the pool filter taken apart, but it certainly wasn't fun to swim in.
"Finnegan Fjord !" A voice suddenly shouts out from the kitchen window. It's Mom, coming to see what all the mess was about! "Finnegan Fjord dear! It's not safe to be swimming at a time like this! Please be safe!"
Sure enough, the mower seemed to be speeding around the pool in laps, its spinning blade didn't seem to care that much from flora or fauna, making it difficult to escape as it continued to spray more and more junk and dirt into the pool. Mom vanished back from the window, seemingly looking for something to try and help out. Back inside the house with Bergamot Gristleborg and orioncayge , Mom began to suddenly dig around in her drawers herself. "Oh goodness, that mower has always been a little finicky, but it's such a smooth ride! I never could have imagined it would do this! Do any of you two know what happened? I'm going to look around for the keys, I don't remember where I put them."
As she rummages through her own kitchen drawers in a hurry, there are a few loud thuds as things get tossed around before a sound suddenly echoes out from somewhere. It seems to almost come from the walls, or maybe the floor? Or perhaps behind the counters? Mom seemed confused by the sound as if she has no memory of what could be making that sound.
You Luck roll dictates if you can find this object, or not! A score of 5 or higher locates the source of the sound with some potential for great components! Luck rolls can be combined for the purpose of locating it!
However, if you recognize what is making the sound, you are allowed to attempt roleplaying finding it right away, and further details will be given next post! JUNKYARD
Bergamot Gristleborg 's Guillotine Flatflipper swims through the air with the greatest of ease and worked to free a few training tires from their wire prison. Successful, a few wheels became clutched in their claws! Perfect wagon wheels!
But they weren't the only bird present within the Junkyard.
A Skarmory, terrifying steel predator of the skies slept atop some junk as if it had been taking a break sorting through the junkyard itself. It seemingly jolts awake as the wheels were grabbed, but doesn't notice the Piplup right away as it tucks its head back down to rest. Exploring the Junkyard further might require confronting the Skarmory, and it seemed awfully protective of the pile of interesting scrap it sat parked on top of.

MOM (NPC)'s voice sounds muffled beneath the water, but Finn can vaguely make out the syllables and cadence of his own name. He decides to stay submerged in the pool, because she couldn't trap him into another story about his mysteriously absent father-figure if he was pretending not to hear her.
That plan works great, until an engine revs and chunks of dirt and grass are spewed into the water from the rampaging lawnmower's teeth.
"Aw, what the fuck," Finn mutters, his own voice distorted underwater. A leaf floats into his mouth. "Gross!"
He surfaces, but thankfully MOM (NPC) has disappeared. Less fortunate is the lawnmower that now has him trapped inside a pool filling with increasingly gross muck. This was not ideal. Then a shard of a paint can nearly takes his head off.
"UH, Buzzster?" he calls out to Buzzster Hooperham. "I THINK THE LAWNMOWER'S TRYNA KILL ME."
He lets his Gyarados out of the ball again.
"Get me outta this pool, Naga."
He grips onto the serpentine, scaly form of the Gyarados as it leaps from the pool, scattering water everywhere as it does so. Finn clings to its back, yelping as it whips around to roar at the rampaging lawnmower.
Gyarados swings its AQUA TAIL through the pool, sending a cascade of murky water toward the ROTOM. Unfortunately, the attack also dislodges its trainer, who'd been holding on for dear life, and sends him flying toward a window next to Bergamot Gristleborg and orioncayge.
Bless BETA TESTER for its existence; he no-clips through the glass and thuds against the wall, stunned.
"Hey guys. Hey Mam." Mom's got her hands over her mouth, understandably too alarmed to form words. She had just witnessed one of her sons come through the window instead of the door like a good, civilized child. "Need a hand? I've got two."
He wiggles his fingers after getting to his feet. He was perfectly dry after his dip in the pool.
"Are those the keys to the attic?" Whatever scolding Finn might've been due to receive is diverted by his mischievous Klefki jingling into the room. "Oh, I haven't been able to go up there in years. Not since the accident with the ladder. Your poor father..."
She sniffles, and Finn rolls his eyes. "Mam. You just said he was in the prisons."
She ignores him. "I don't suppose it could hurt to let you kids have a look around up there. Your father kept all sorts of useless junk up in that attic..."

Orion would lean in and plant a kiss on MOM's forehead, giving her a warm smile. "Thanks Ma, you're doing us a real solid, and the hardest part of renovation is cleaning up all the scrap anyways so really we're out here doin you a favor, Y'know?" The idea of a washer and a dryer in the junkyard was tantalizing, that was a lot of copper and electronic scraps. His family used to cruise around looking for those to scrap and make money for other endeavors when times were tough, so he knew a thing or two about breaking those bad boys down.
Then all hell broke loose with the god damn lawnmower.
"Jesus Ma, that thing looks possessed! When was the last time you had it serviced?" He watched as it began to run amock and ruin the perfectly good lawn he'd spent the weekend before trimming for her, growling a bit. "I'm gonna go get that fucker before he gets the rose bushes I planted around the side!" His head would whip back to Finnegan Fjord and Bergamot Gristleborg and raise an eyebrow. "One of you find that fucking Nokia going off and tell them that if its about the extended warranty on the mower they can fuck themselves."
With that he was out the back door and mounting his trusty steed Zeus the Blitzle and chasing the Mow Rotom around the yard. Then he caught up to it, he would flip off his trusty stead and then mount the creature with the aid of his trust MAGNETIC BOOTS that he'd gotten from another job to help him ride the Rotom and pepper it with a cascade of fire punches to put several dents in it. bQjWTOFL1-6 Components lost (Ignore this, Im worried that by removing it, it will kill the six that comes after it) 1-6 x10 Luck points +10 for using a ride pokemon to hunt down the Rotom +10 for using my handy dandy magnetic boots to help mount the creature Monster Hunter Style +10 for using Blackbelt to hit him with super effective Fire Punches +10 (Teamwork) Cordinating with Finn and Morgana Mechanical: 180/300 Scrap: 100/200 (+100 ripped from the Rotom) Electrical: 110/400 Wagon: 100/100 1-6·1-6

Zac was no hero. In many ways he was the opposite of a hero. He wasn't the sort of guy that solved problems, he was the one who created them, and he certainly didn't save people being chased by sentient lawnmowers. Not unless the whole thing was part of an insurance scam.
But as Finnegan Fjord 's shouts of help carried across the partially-mowed lawn, they pulled at his heart strings. "Maybe..." he said, licking his lips tentatively as he watched the Rotom careen at full speed towards the pool. "Maybe if we say it was an electrical fault we can sue HUSQVARNA. Especially if Finnegan Fjord gets injured. I bet they'd settle out of court too. John Deer does it all the time for tractor dismemberment cases."
Unfortunately, Buzzster's dreams of a stonking great digital life-insurance payout were dashed against the rocks of reality as Finn saved himself, clipping through the wall of the house and into the 'safety' of the kitchen.
A moment later and Orion was on the scene, tearing into the mower like a grizzly bear tearing into a garbage bag full of $1 cheeseburgers. Scrap flew everywhere, and Zac breathed a sigh of relief, rubbing his hands together as he turned his attention back to the garage. Unfortunately, aside from a box of Christmas lights there was slim pickings left, and with Mom now wise to their antics, and the air smelling more and more like smoke, Buzzster cheesed it out through the side door.
"Okay, where to now?" he asked Vulpix and Chikorita, as he shoved the Christmas lights into his pockets and tried unsuccessfully to add the two detached smoke alarms to his inventory.
"Ze junkyard aught to 'ave valuable pieces," La Trixxia said, her six tails swishing as the trio headed back towards their starting spot. "And wiff everyone in ze 'ouse we'll be far away from zeir prying eyes, no?"
"Good call Trixie! Let's get on it!"
A few minutes later and they were at the gates to the junkyard, staring up at the Skarmory that was (for now) happily snoozing atop a pile of- "solid bloody gold," Buzzster breathed, watching Guillotine pull at the tangle of abandoned wagon wheels. "Okay you two I've got a plan. You know how you can cook ants with a magnifying glass?"
"Huh?"
"Oui."
"Well we don't have one, but Trixie can make light, and Petal, you can magnify it through some sort of plant stuff, right? Like, uh, photocopying, right? Where you make the light into energy?"
Ever eager to please, Chikorita nodded along, looking incredibly stressed by the request, "Okay! I'll do my best!"
Meanwhile, La Trixxia was already breathing a gentle flame, which she whirled and shaped until it was a glowing ball of fire that reminded Zac of the flaming hula dancers from his honeymoon luau. "Okay that's perfect. Now just photocopy that and burn that bird!"
Petal set to work, layering Reflects and Light Screens above and below the fireball, and the glow only intensified as the captured light ricocheted up and down, trapped between two impenetrable layers. Light leaked from the seams, and the affront to physics glowed like a sandwich made by Marie Curie.
"Perfect!" Buzzster said, not looking directly at what he had wrought. "Now just release it at the bird!"
Petal shook, terrified of what they had created. "Uh. Are you sure?"
"Yeah! What's the worst that could happen?"
Petal removed the top layer of screens and instantly all hell broke loose. The ball of concentrated light became a beam of pure, blistering, molten malice, and it carved through the junkyard landscape like a fire hose through a child's sandcastle.
It melted a fridge into a pool of scrap, obliterated a pile of photo albums, and bisected an old cream sofa, neatly carving it into a black two-piece living room set.

Chryssa was not a 'handy' person to have around the house. She couldn't use a drill. She couldn't sew a button. She probably couldn't even set the clock on the microwave. However, she did consider herself to have land vehicle proficiency (wheelchairs) and that made her the natural choice to wrangle the out-of-control lawnmower in the back yard. She could hardly tear her eyes away from the raging orange beast as it roared in circles around the pool, shredding valuable components and eviscerating innocent patches of Tall Grass. Finnegan Fjord clipping through the wall and landing in the kitchen finally brought her back to reality, and Morgana put her hands on her hips to laugh. "Ohohoho! Attic, schmattic!" she contributed positively while she tried to figure out which Pokemon would work best against a sentient weed-whipper. Fortunately, orioncayge moved faster than she did. "One of you find that fucking Nokia going off and tell them that if its about the extended warranty on the mower they can fuck themselves." While Finn disappeared into the attic, Bergamot went hunting for the phone. "A-ha! No treasure can escape these eyes," she said cunningly, tracking the muffled ringtone to the couch. Is it between the cushions? she wondered, rummaging blindly in the space between them. Her hand closed around something cool and she pulled out a small, military-grade combat drone. ... "Well, well, well," she finally said, recovering. "Dad's backstory strikes again..." Drone strikes, that is. "Well, it's fine! We can probably dismantle this for the robot." What were they building again? Ignoring whatever war crimes Dad was probably involved in, Bergamot finally found the Nokia under the couch. The sofa had been moved away from the wall so the wall could be painted— it had probably been moved on top of the phone without anyone noticing. The screen with its huge, LED pixels was lit up a periwinkle blue, easy to see when she peeked underneath. Since it was ringing, Bergamot picked it up. "A-lo-ha~"
Back at the Junkyard, Guillotine watched in deep dismay as Buzzster Hooperham obliterated the junkpile with a giant laser. That said, surely the Skarmory would be too distracted to take it out on a poor little penguin with training wheels, right? Right?XLynHXd_1-6 x10 Luck Points Mechanical: 240/300 (+60 from combat drone) Scrap: 100/200 Electrical: 170/400 Wagon: 100/100 1-6
