Momo felt herself blush furiously at orioncayge's doubtful reaction to her Capsule Launcher. She supposed it had been pretty underwhelming, but what else was she supposed to do. "I was... I was just trying to..." the girl stammered, red-faced, "What do you... of course I'm not packing anything, a real warrior needs no weapon to..."
She trailed off, spared from her awkwardness by the sight of Morgrem, currently being strangled by a giant, menacing snowflake. It was morbidly fascinating— especially given the memory of Kusa trying to fight this same Pokemon back in the Steppes. That's the one that wounded him, Momo thought, finding it barely recognizable with its face purpled and poison sizzling down the sides of its body. I've never fought anything like it. The way its hair had moved, as if it had a life of its own...
Momo realized just in time. "Watch out!"
She spurred Hiyoko forward in a burst of speed, sending a spray of wet leaf mulch behind them. The Doduo lunged just in time to prevent Morgrem's hair from slicing open the bag of Pokeballs Tuesday had been holding. Perhaps its plan had just been to distract the catgirl— anything to loosen Cryogonal's hold on its weakening body. If rolling Pokeballs everywhere didn't do it, the subsequent release of a whole herd of animals probably would.
They acted so fast that only a single Pokeball spilled from the lip of the bag, and Momo snatched out with incredible reflexes to pull it out of the air. She let out her breath between clenched teeth, eyes wild, and clutched it to her chest.
Meanwhile, Doduo's foot came down with a heavy THWAP!
