Were they all proper heraldic animals? Technically. Did argent have to like it? Not really.

The sheep kind of just bumbled forward, the bird fluttered around and seemed more intent in digging in the grass, and the cat stood next to him and looked up and mewled like it was dying. Like, didn't even say words. Just whined. argent rubbed his face with his hands.

"Everyone shut up!" He hissed, which thankfully had the intended effect of making everyone shut up. All three looked at him, wide-eyed. Like they didn't know what they were doing wrong.

Which was everything.

"I ought to replace all of you." argent snapped, stalking off to go brood by himself, or something.

argent was pissed. Now, he was pissed a fair amount of the time he wasn't condescendingly amused. There was "Frat Brother Jason drank all the beer and tried to replace it with Bud Lite" pissed, and there was "Professor wanted to slap a pop quiz down on the first monday back from break" pissed, and there was, of course, "Angel broke into my room and stole my shit for no goddamn reason" pissed.

But none of those compared to the right now pissed, the "I went where you said and not only was that not a good fucking time, now things are broken and my lizard is gone, and I don't like that on top of the emotional duress" pissed.

"Doc," He snarled, hair imperfectly frazzled. The hand that wasn't holding the door open was curled into a fist. He stalked in like some kind of big cat, a leopard sizing up the worst housecat in the world. "You're gonna tell me where the fucking lizard is, and you're gonna do it now."

Had he learned his lesson about threatening the npcs? Absolutely not.

argent stared up at the big wall at the edge of the steppes. There was only one way in, probably because of the stupid event going in. Dr. Bonga's research, or something. Who really cared.

All argent knew was that Angel was too much a damn coward to head in, and he sure as shit wasn't. "Let's go, lizard," He said, and stepped through.

Mistra really wasn't as scary as Angel had made it seem. A field. A path. The sky wasn't even too cloudy. He moved to walk forwards, and found he couldn't. It was like his legs were locked up, or- or something. He looked down at them- His legs looked fine, and there was nothing there, so why-

argent glanced over as a pair of trainers came up the path behind him, chattering amongst themselves. "Hey-" He called, and they... ignored him. "HEY! What the fuck?"

Another trainer came up behind him, and didn't so much as have the decency to step around, slamming hard into his shoulder. argent hissed, and glared- and they had the audacity to glare back.

argent squinted at the ui. Was that it? The trainer stars? Sure enough, he could move backwards- and, around in a half-foot box. But not further.

Well. That was something he could fix quickly. He flipped down to the shop tab, scrolling past the nonsense. Username changes, appearance change tokens. Bingo.

A Trainer Star Pass. One star, a free title, and a randomized legendary dna, two stars, three free titles, and a chosen legendary dna, or all three stars, five free titles, and a legendary egg. Two hundred bucks well spent. He flicked to the three star option, and tapped the purchase button.

Which- vanished under his finger. And then the three star option altogether. And then the other two. And then the name change, and the tokens, and then the shop as a whole. Just-

Gone.

His eyes flicked over where the ui had been, and argent let out a feral hiss. Well, fucking whatever. He didn't need some stupid paid package. He could get through this on his own.

Argent looked around the tower. This wasn't very exciting, and honestly he wasn't expecting much. "What is all this supposed to be?" He muttered, looking around at the funhouse mirrors. There were pokemon running around, warped and confusing. Argent rolled his eyes. What, was he expected to run around for an hour, going down every corridor trying to find the right way to fight things?

No. Absolutely not. Not when there was a much faster way.

"Charmander-" The pokemon appeared in a flash. "Use ember. Take it all out."

Argent came back- was it for the rufflet? Not really, at this point. It was mainly because Silvermoon turned to look at him, and they looked utterly horrified. "I get it," He said, appeasingly. "Getting other people to step in the line of fire for you? Valid," He spread his hands, with a shrug and a laugh. "But, if they can't get the job done- Well. Sometimes you've got to get your hands dirty."

Argent could not stand being lectured. He detested getting lectured by his parents, by professors. By his roommate. By anyone. Least of all some bright-eyed twink swanning on about trusting pokemon. He dropped the facade like a rock, looking dismissively at Silvermoon. "He isn't good at it." Argent said, with a sigh to his voice. "If he could fight at all, I'd trust him to do it. But he sucks ass." So saying, he turned, punching the rufflet again.
