QUEST: Abandoned Laboratory

A seemingly endless sprawl of reclaimed city holds secrets in its underbelly. Players exploring Route 8: Forgotten Nexus may discover a secret keycard along the way. Once you have the keycard in hand, you will receive an alert for a new quest at a location near the Thunderfall Shrine. A slippery abyss of rusted beams and girders can be crossed to reach the Abandoned Laboratory, where you find yourself facing a locked, stainless steel door.

When at least one other player has joined you, the following objectives will appear in your UI:

{DIARY ENTRY} 20:00 11-11-XXXX

The situation has escalated. I received word the Pokemon League was destroyed at 18:00 last night, for reasons you probably know as well as I do. Our sister lab was vaporized, as were most of my colleagues. Unfortunately, there is no time to grieve.

My work on the extradimensional portals has been coming along well, but I never expected we'd need it so soon, or in such dire circumstances.

The public is being told it was a freak terrorist act, but that story won't hold up long when it crosses the ocean and they get a good look at it. Everyone is afraid of bad press for now, but what about the lives of the people of this region?

It's dead. It's actually dead. We won. I could faint, I'm so happy. Of course, there were casualties— so many, some of which will haunt me for the rest of my life— but we really did it. The portal grid was the key— what's really amazing is that we were actually able to fashion a weapon out of what we found on the other side, especially given the time restrictions. I wish we'd been able to do it faster— many innocent lives were lost— but in the end, I'm happy it worked out this way.

They're calling me a hero.
