She'd hesitated for a while over confirming her character. Sure, she knew she could turn the game off whenever she wanted, but once she'd been in it she always would have been in it, y'know? A permanent record of her presence. It's daunting. So, so daunting. Crossing the boundary may only be the first step, but it's absolutely the most daunting one. Nerea takes a deep, slow breath, and hits the button to start her adventure.

Near-instantly, Hekate appears in a place... not unlike Nerea's real-life room. Sure, she doesn't have as many madcap experiments going on, but the piled books? The aging takeout boxes? The general mess obscuring the floor? Now, that was certainly familiar. Though, the perspective - that was different. Hekate sways for a moment, a minor case of vertigo as she adjusts to her newly increased height. And her heels, too - her real self barely wore shoes, let alone high-heeled platforms. Her digital body seemed to know what it was doing, but Hekate still looked unsteady for a moment.

Then, there's a voice. Hekate whips around to it's source, eyes landing on Dr Bunya - and thoughts race through her head. Another person? Already?? She'd barely had time to prepare! She hadn't even practiced a cool voice yet!! Hekate opens her mouth to speak, and a single shrill squeak is the only thing that escapes. She stares at Dr Bunya in silence for a moment, before making a quick hand motion and blinking out of existence.

...about 40 minutes later, she logs back in.

"H-Hello!!!!" She says, with far too much nervous enthusiasm. "Yeah! I'm- Yes! Here! Pokémon! Good!!" As she babbles, she looks over to the display case. How many balls was that?? Wasn't that too many??? She's sure she only got offered three when she played last. How was she supposed to pick from that many? Was there a right option, even? Some were better than others, right? As Hekate starts to tremble, Bunya's direct question snaps her to attention.

Hekate stands up straight, like she's expecting a teacher to berate her. She stares down at Dr Bunya, and opens her mouth to release a gasp like a dying animal. A moment later, she manages to actually form a word. "...f-f-fire!"

Official docnyaments...? This was far more involved than she thought it would be. Oh, but, maybe it was gonna be like... a personality test? She can do that. That's fun. That's cool.

"Allergies? Uh-" Okay, that's not quite a personality test question, is it. Ohhhh boy. Were they tracking that? Was it gonna be part of the game?? Was that even possible?? Oh, Hekate, you've stood in silence for so long, it's super-duper awkward now. Speak up! "I- I, uh, I get, like, really bad hayfever, and- and- and I visited- I had a friend, and he- he had, like, a dog, but it, like, it made me sneeze a lot, so that's, uh, maybe something?? I guess???" A pause. "And latex!! That- that too."

Question two throws her through another loop. Oh, right, this was a game about, like, fighting other people with your lil' monsters, wasn't it? Wait, unless she meant actual fighting?? "Ah, I, uh... N-not especially? I'm not, y'know, very... very strong..." She raises her arm as if to prove a point, but catches herself off-guard when she looks at it. Underneath a layer of soft fat, there was definitely muscle there. Nerea suddenly remembers that she wasn't 'Nerea' right now, but 'Hekate', and she'd given Hekate the muscle mass she lacked in real life. After a moment, she turns back to Dr Bunya. "...but, I, uh, maybe I can... give it a- a shot?"

And then the last question. Now that one, that one stuns her into silence. It felt almost a little out of place, right? All philosophical and stuff. Hadn't she had a lesson on this, so many years ago, in a philosophy class in school? And her answer now was the same as it was back then, wasn't it?

"...it's not a dream." Her eyes drift to the floor. "Dreams are exciting."

Her eyes catch the paper, barely able to make out the two shapes on it before it disappears. One of them might have been a Bulbasaur? She knows that one, at least. As she's searching her memory for what the yellow shape could be, a Pokéball is tossed at her that she barely manages to catch. Hekate fumbles it for a moment, steadies herself, and looks back at the Doctor with a small nod.

"I, uh- thank you?" She's not sure what just happened. Did she pass?? She looks to the Pokéball in her hands, and the name written on it. 'Torchic', it reads. Torchic... Torchic...... she rolls the name in her mind. It's familiar... wait! The little chicken! She knows that one!! Her eyes growing wide, Hekate hurries to open the ball without asking or waiting for permission. There's a flash of light that forces her eyes shut, but when she opens them...

Cupped in her arms is an orange chick, about a foot in size. He's warm to the touch, like, notably warm - a Fire type, right? She remembers that. He looks up to her, and lets out a peep-like yawn. Hekate practically squeals in excitement.

"Oh. My. Gooooooshhhhh...." She raises a finger, to gently poke at his face. "Aren't you just the cutest Lil Guy... Yes you are! Yes you- OW!" A sharp pain spikes up from her finger, as she recoils from Lil Guy's scratch. Her eyes glance from him, to her finger, and back to the small ember of flame he's currently shooting at her oh my GOD-

She stumbles back, dropping Lil Guy, as she barely dodges the smoldering embers. They'll fizzle out before they hit anything important, right? As she regains her balance she looks around the room, scanning for a flash of orange feathers. Not here, not there, not - Lil Guy is already rushing out the door by the time she spots him. Where the hell is he going?? "W-w-wait! Come back! I- I'm- I'm sorry!"

Hekate starts to dash after him, before realising Dr Bunya is still there. "Um! I- thank you, D-Doctor! Bunya! Dr Bunya! Sorry! Thank you, I'm- Sorry!! I'll be- I'll be back!!" And with that, she darts out the door in pursuit of her Torchic.
