[ti]open[/ti][001] what size were these again?

Sidra had signed up for the game weeks if not months ago! But she had never had the chance to actually get past character creation. So many things had come up, stealing her focus away. But now was the time. Now she had finally decided to log onto this character she had spent hours meticulously crafting.

In her eagerness to log on she skipped right past the pop-up that asked if she wanted to do the tutorial. Not that she was the type to do tutorials anyways, since they were optional, right?

Anyhow, the world opened before her as she spawned in. Graphics fantastic, the world felt very much alive and there was naught a disruptive interface popping up to suggest activities or quests she ought to do.

A fresh start. She took a deep virtual breath and did the most geeky-self-centered-anime-intro thing to do and loudly check the chat system by proclaiming.

“HELLO WORLD!”

It took a moment for Sidra to get her bearings. It seemed she had spawned right into some sort of scenario? Oh that was unfortunate, hopefully she hadn’t caused a problem for, she turned around to look at the other person’s avatar, but all she saw was a mirror of sorts.

The following text all but confirmed the identity behind the avatar.

“You know I don’t need tutorials! This is just like any other game, I’ll figure it out, how hard can it be?” Sidra would type back with that same cheekiness that she so often employed.

Sidra really wasn’t paying much attention to the whole scenario going on in the background, it was only when the NPC ‘mom’ called them twins that it caught her attention.

“Sooooo, what sort of scenario is this?” Again, typed as to not completely ruin the voiced lines of the NPC.

Sidra saw the eyeroll, and felt a twitch at the corner of her eye. It didn’t help when Altair reminded her of the success, or lack thereof, she had had in FFXIV.

Had he not done a shushing motion she might’ve made a rebuttal. But he was listening to the NPC speaking and now with a moment of silence, so was she.

Much like her ‘twin’ she found her mouth wide open at the revelation. “Yeah I heard…” She typed. “Guess we had no luck with the randomly generated dad.”

It had to be different for all the players, right? Otherwise it wouldn’t have made sense for NPC mom to refer to them as twins. “So, what do we do? Do we just stand here and listen to her rant or is there a point to this quest?” The words were typed hurried as the Sidra-Avatar stood there one bare foot tapping impatiently on the ground.

“:-)” Would be the reply that Sidra typed back. By now Altair surely knew her gaming self enough that an actual reply would be unnecessary.

And as the NPC woman kept chatting on, Sidra kind of zoomed out, and instead began to fidget with some HUD stuff. She somehow found her way into her Fuecoco’s BIO and began to read that!

She had zoomed as far out as it was mentally possible. It was only when the flashing menu prompt popped up that she realized things were happening and Altair was typing.

“So, what do these Running Shoes do?” She asked as before promptly pressing the blinking notification. Sure she could read the description BUT she had a walking Unovr-pedia-search-bot by her side, might as well use that.
