As this is the first of logs I am making, I'll explain what I'm doing. I came to this game as a beta tester-I, Lucky Guy, came to test bugs. I work as a contracted coder for the HYDANCE and Nindendo affiliate project UNOVR. My job is actually to code the initialization, login and account linking prompts that every player sees when they select this game or reestablish an account ownership in the Full Dive. I should have nothing to do with the code in-game. You could say that I'm doing this as a hobby. I just want to see and try to understand the code that I'm not allowed to see at my position. I find it strange that I'm not allowed access to any of the code. Thus, I want to help perfect this game while trying to find glimpses of how the internals work as I go. I don't think it's so strange to want to make this game better-it's practically my passion project alongside every other designer behind the game. Thus, we begin our logs. Today I decided to bring copious amounts of water up to one of the lava pools and dump it all just to see what would happen. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to have a free block of obsidian. I just made a lot of steam. Typical. I tried tossing various plant matters that I'm able to pick up into the lava. To explain what happened, allow me to give a lesson on the organization of Full Dive programming. Full Dive is a massive leap in both the sciences of computer engineering and neurology both. It creates a coded copy of your brain in the form of a program called a NEUREXE. The actual programming term for the file is quite different, but it's displayed as NEUREXE in honor of old runtime files such as Java. The NEUREXE acts as a controller system that your own neurons trigger the keys of. It's as if a controller had thousands if not tens of thousands of input buttons. It also acts as an interfacing piece that one needs to plug into a Full Dive program to get it to properly operate. It's a runtime that operates on machinery and your own dreaming state. The computer programming creates all values and objects that have associated data with them. This includes terrain, NPCs including Pokémon, larger objects that are assigned HP values and the HUD to name a few. The rest of the world that you see is a malleable image that your dreaming mind creates to fill in the gaps. This includes things such as grass, fire, general temperatures and the two senses that aren't Sight, Sound or Smell which use a mixture of both. We call these particular non-data fillers and the portion of your mind that imagines everything in a Full Dive game dreamware. As objects in UNOVR they're called Flashblock. Get it? Like a flashback? Anyway... Why does it seem that regions have similar thematic to everyone despite how people always report the world as looking slightly different to how others see it? That would be because of the headset itself. Using psychological suggestion methods, the Full Dive system directs the content and plot of the dream you're having to follow certain guidelines that you, the player will think of as reasonable. 'Brimstone Crater is hot'. 'The air is cold when you have the Soaked condition'. 'This is a Pikachu, and it communicates intent to you how you think it would because you have communication set to ON'. Do you see? Registered Objects and Flashblock are the two textures that make up all of the objects in UNOVR. Even a simple forest is a complex weave of your mind's remembrance of the grass you lied down on in your childhood days, your picture of a calm blue sky that's forecasted in the region today and the solid code of Trees and Pokémon. Now that we know this, the reports are simple--Registered Blocks become their destroyed state and then turn into more Lava ID while any Flashblock that I throw in it just disappears. Typical. Nothing amazing here to see.

I felt that it would be a good idea to try bugs anew with the least stable place that I'm aware of this time. What place other than the random freaking hole I found with two right blokes by my side would be better than that? There's no way that we didn't make that on accident. Thus, it has to have something wrong with it. I have to say, navigating it has become a lot bigger of a pain in the arse now that I'm no longer specced into the Gardener tree. At the very least I've a path to follow from our last foray into the place, but bugs won't be found on intended paths. I took more dangerous routes. I climbed and fell to whatever strange indent in the wall I could find. Strangely I couldn't find any out-of-bounds clipping points. Perhaps this place was pre-made and just... pasted onto wherever it was slapped down. In such a case, the the strangest spots had to be around the top ends where terrain met dungeon. Thinking this, I trekked back to the surface to search up top once again. I found something! Sort of. I could stick my foot through a few walls of the old structure that the Fennekin had once resided in before we discovered it. Pretty cool, and I'll report that to C0D13 as soon as I can. Still, though-it all just feels like a bit of a letdown. Maybe it's because of my early encounter with that strangely malicious Gyrados-this just feels... tame. I wonder if there's any more anomalies like the one I'd found on the beach. I wonder how I would go about looking for such an improbable thing.

Today I thought I'd just see what the world had to offer to me if I looked closer than I normally did. There's no point in staring at the sky all day of course-it's all dreamware, each and every inch of it until the day that someone decides to code a traversable area up there. It is pretty watching the sky change over time. I know how to look for the subtle changes that people don't notice in the background. Did you know that decorative Flashblock is rarely the same when you look at it twice? You never feel off-put by it because you're suggested to be confident and in control, assured that you know the space around you like the back of your hand. I can't even tell that anything's changed at all half the time. The HUD probably helps with that, too-keeps your spatial awareness topped up and all that. I decided to look over the barren ash and dust that made the dunes of this crater today. Maybe I'd find a hidden dungeon like the Temple of Midas in the canopy, who knows? Developers always do love to do things in pairs of three, the right blokes they are. It's lucky to do. I'd know that better than anyone. I didn't find any anomalous properties in the land, so it seems that C0D13 did overtime on the Land Object textures to smooth them over. Good on him-her-them-whatever the floozie thinks of itself, really. I didn't find any clipping between the lava and the ground like I did a few days ago either and forgot to report, so it seems that others are at least taking their roles as bug-testers a little seriously. I wonder if there really is anything to be found in this empty land besides brimstone and Pokémon. Maybe I should start looking somewhere else, or maybe I'll keep giving it a day or two. I wouldn't call myself dedicated if I wasn't diligent about this on my nightly runs around the three isles.

I seem to have found something after hours a day of searching. In a place I sworn that I'd looked before was something truly out of place. I mean, just look at it. It appears to be a statuette that I can pick up with both hands, about the size of a rather large Pokémon egg. Parts of it are cracked open to show geode inside, as if this thing were mined straight out of a culchie digsite or something. What the hell even is this doing here? Why was there a statue of Gengar in the Brimstone Crater, a place for Fire Pokémon, and why was it so pristinely white in a desolate land that rained soot? It doesn't enter my inventory when I pick it up, and I can't find anything about it on my HUD when I try to investigate. It doesn't really weigh much of anything at all, and it doesn't have many physics besides falling to the ground when released. No upkick of ash from the ground when it lands, no prints on the ground when I pick it up. It's a kind of bugged object that I've yet to encounter before, and I don't really know what to do with it because of that. I'll figure something out in the morning. 'Morning'. Whatever. I'm tired.

This thing isn't normal. After hiding the statue somewhere that someone else wouldn't find it while I was gone, I took a night off and came back to it refreshed and ready to go. Now I'm sure that this thing is weird. As I said before, the environment just doesn't react to it at all. The dust of the ash dunes doesn't puff up even when I throw the Gengar into the ground as hard as I can. It doesn't take damage when I smash it on stone, nor does the stone itself. There isn't even a satisfying smack or anything-it just stops. No bounce. I got a little bit desperate to find out anything about it, so I threw it into a pit of lava to see if it would fall into damage states as an Object would or if it would just disappear like a Flashblock. I didn't expect for the thing to just... stand on the lava like it was floor. I'm convinced that this thing just isn't a part of the program at this point. That grinning face it had felt a lot more malicious to me when I had to go out there to pick it back up. Arsehole. I sent a message to C0D13 about the Gengar statue but but the overzealous bot doesn't seem to be responding to me yet. Maybe he's just busy with work for the time being. It's the beta, after all. For now I'll just put this thing somewhere good and hidden so I can stop worrying about it until I think of something relevant to it.

I've gotten a message response from C0D13 in relation to the bugged object detailed in above reports. This alone is odd enough, as I don't think I've really ever gotten a message from C0D13 before. To be fair, it's not much of a message. It's just blank space inside. Maybe he's trying to tell me something about it? Doubtful, but it was nice to list out the strings of possibility I have available to me. I don't like it. Something this strange happening in relation to an otherwise unmentionable statue doesn't feel right. This has got to either be some kind of event item or a piece of missing data, like an unloaded texture of sorts. My guess leans on the latter of the two, as I've yet to receive response or description of any kind about it. All attempts at trying to change anything about the statue have failed today as well. I'll just keep the empty letter, put the statue back and call it a day for now. This had been an exhausting session, even moreso than usual in face of the sheer lack of progress I've had in relation to this stupid grinning rock.

Once again I am attempting to understand what the heck is wrong with this thing. I've taken to throwing it like a softball recently when I've gotten a spot of boredom crawling around. It's been entertaining enough, but that doesn't quite remedy the frustration I'm feeling here. It feels like the statue has changed somehow, but I'm pretty sure that's just my imagination. Nothing seems to be different about it as far as I can tell. As of now I've begun wandering the Brimstone Crater for the night in search of some door, some dungeon-something that validates the existence of this stupid statue. I found none today. I'm about to stick this thing on a pedestal and put it in the rumor board for some sick kicks.

The statue's gone. I didn't ever report it to any rumor threads, but I really might do so at this point. I looked around the area as well as I could, but couldn't find any particular trainer who was carrying it around or anything. The statue really just seemed to up and disappear while I was logged off... That, or I'm having the worst case of incorrect memory ever. It could even be that C0D13 could have finally come over and fixed the issue at hand. My account doesn't really have any more bytes and I haven't recieved any notifications from the little guy, but that's the most likely scenario of what happened. For now I just need to accept the fact that the statue is gone. I think that is is a fine enough conclusion for my bug-hunting adventures in the crater for the time being, so this will be my last entry related to this place until further notice.
