Yggy nodded eagerly along with Orion's statement that he'd been looking for Fennekin.
"Yeah, everyone is! There's trade requests all over Global Chat. I dunno why, haha, they're not new or anything..."
It occurred to Yggy she'd been so focused on her shoe that she'd just missed out on rare trade fodder. "Aw man! I shoulda caught a copy!" she said, crestfallen. There was a brief window in UNOVR's catch algorithm that let up to two trainers catch a wild Pokémon. People had reported it as a glitch at first, but Hydance claimed it was a planned feature in case multiple people targeted the same spawn in multiplayer mode. I guess we'll never know if that's true or not.
But that window had passed already, so Yggy just let her shoulder slump for a moment. "Hoop. Oh well!" She was back to her usual bouncy self a moment later. She could always catch another one!
Orion had asked her what she was doing here. "Nothing much!" she replied. "I was just hanging around. It's cool to be back on Beta Island again. I never really got into the Asper Routes, I dunno."
