The next floor had opened up, and hoo boy was it a wacky one. Taro wandered through the mirror maze together with their newly acquired litleo. They had decided to name this second little kitty in their pokémon team Aureate. As the reflections of both watchog and other players moved in the mirrors all around him, Taro felt a little dizzy. He kept walking forward until... THUD! He walked face first into one of the mirrors. <Really?> Aureate looked at him with a smug expression on her face, <You didn't see your own reflection coming right at you?> The trainer sighed and readjusted his mask. "Don't you have better things to do than criticizing my lack of skill in navigating this mirror maze? Like attacking that watchog that snuck up right behind you?" <What?>
There had indeed been a real watchog behind Aureate, which Taro only noticed after they had turned around to look at his litleo. "An Ember strike will do." Taro spoke, feeling a little more confident in themself again. Aureate spit some fiery embers at the watchog, which seemed more effective than expected so that was nice.

Ooh, a mirror maze! Jinx had always wanted to check out one of those, and now here she was, right in the middle of one!
It was definitely fun looking at all the different weird reflections in all the different mirrors, seeing how some of the reflections got reflected back in turn and kept going on and on and on, even if trying to track some of the far-away ones made her eyes ache a little with all that focusing.
It was... decidedly not an ideal place for a battle, though. Far from it. But Jinx figured she'd trust in the Tower mechanics rather than actually trying to figure out which images of the enemy Watchogs were real and which were just reflections upon reflections. One hit from the right Pokemon and down they'd go, without having to mess with any of that logical, riddle-solving stuff.
All she had to do was look up what a Unova Pokemon was again... silly Pokemon games with their fancy terminology that she still couldn't quite keep track of...
Oh. That was easy enough.
"Hey, Bear?"
The Cottonee perked up at the sound of her name.
"Use... uh..." It didn't really matter what move was used, of course, but Jinx thought about it just the same. "How about... Razor Leaf! Yeah, that'll show them!"
All those sharp, pointed leaves went flying this way and that way, and the mirrors were soon practically covered in their reflections... and in scratches from all those leaves hitting their surface and digging into the glass that covered them. Oops.
At least they were all on their way out of here anyway, right?

As the players chase and stumble their way through the Hall of Mirrors, a ping in their User Interface shows they've defeated another 10 Patrat (or Watchog, as they now are.)
Tower of Cats Floor 7: LITTERBOX. On the next floor, you find the wooden flooring covered in coarse gray sand. A heavy, perfumed stench rises from this manmade desert. Obstacles, Patrat, and mysterious lumpy objects hide within, making a minefield that the players must wade through to reach the other side. Fortunately, there are hard swathes of terrain that can be safely walked across, if you don't mind what they are.
You have defeated 70 Patrat and unlocked ALOLAN MEOWTH (C)! The next reward will be unlocked at 70 Patrat.

Good gravy he wanted out. Sure, he got two cats from it, but when will the wave of Patrats and Watchogs end?! As he trekked his way to the next set of floors, he was immediately hit by a familiar but terrible, terrible stench. He retched. He cursed loudly before retching again. Thankfully, their enemies were Patrat instead of their evolutions. Not thankfully, there were lumps on the floor that he could only imagine were squishy or fresh or still in the process of lumping, and really he didn't think he would ever see a giant litter box in his life; he already didn't like this part of his chores on the daily.
But it was to get out. To get another cat. To see what was at the top of the tower. Pinching his nose, he saw the pop up was asking for a Unova Pokemon, and thankfully, he had one that he wasn't afraid of using. ❝Okay, Cliff, your time to shine!❞ his voice was nasally but it was better than gagging. When the Pidove came out of his Poke Ball, he at first squawked before covering his nostrils with his wings, panicking.
❝The faster we take out the Patrat the faster we can leave! Use, err, Quick Attack!❞ he realized that Gust would be the worst move ever in this situation, in a place that was covered in tiny dusty particles that would sting a person's eyes. Birds usually had Keen Eye right? He sure wish he had that ability right about now! And there was the matter of actually crossing through the terrain as well...man, here goes nothing. It was disturbing to say the least. And if the title of the room didn’t give it away, there was enough evidence to give you a good impression of what it was. The feeling of victory from defeating the previous floor vanished as soon as she stepped into the room filled with the coarse gray sand. Hand quickly rose to pinch her nose, the stench overwhelming. And to make things worse, pale golden orbs spotted the large clumps randomly spread out through the floor. Lumpy and hard. Rhaenyra gagged, stomach turned at the thought of her leaping onto one that was fresh and still soft.
The wolf girl shivered, feeling as though she would need a seven hour bath and shower after this one. Her gaze lifted, spotting the patrat’s within the floor amongst everything in here. She cursed under her breath, plucking out a sphere and releasing her creature of choice.
The icy feline materialized within seconds, cold gaze took in his surrounds before he too turned his head in disguise. “I want to get out of here as soon as possible. Fenrir, quick attack as many as you,” The woman mumbled into her hand that covered her face. The feline let out a loud unpleasant whine, wincing as he took a stepped forward and his paw sank a little. “Please hurry,” she pleaded with the feline, coughing into her hand and soon pulling her red furred line jacket over her nose, “I can’t stand it.” Her eyes started to water.
Fenrir gave a low hiss, turning back to the foes. A white glow encase his frame, soon pushing his body beyond the normal limits. He dashed left and right, using the hard lumps and whatever else as leverage to get to his foes faster. And once within range, the glaceon would crash into the patrats with his QUICK ATTACKs. Verai didn't need sight to know exactly where he was. "Hm." He said, and that was about it. The litter was doing a good job, for the size of the room, so he simply forged on ahead.
He had no concerns or qualms about where he was going- or what it was- until the hard earth gave way. Only then did Verai pause, considering his options. To stride forward into the litter and whatever was within it, or...
"Sagwa," He called, the glaceon landing neatly behind him. "Use icy wind- give us a bridge to the next path." She chriped in response, dipping to the side to dig, just a moment, before racing to freeze the area, solidifying it for walking and... very barely improving the scent.

“This is hell,” Kazuki hisses, hand slapped over his mouth. He had already gagged a couple of times walking in here, but it’s still not enough to abate the disgust. Having never owned his own cat before–Pokemon not included, as they were more like Tamagotchis than actual animals–he’s appalled to find out just how pungent cat shit is.
Maybe dog shit is about the same level of horrendous, though. Maybe his nose is just numb to it now, after owning generations of Dobermanns.
Regardless, he's here, and he's following Verai's trail as usual. His Combusken leads the way, the bird being agile and keen enough to avoid the worst clumps. The smooth pathing is interrupted as a Patrat leaps out from one of the sand mounds. Kazuki’s eyes widen, seeing Combusken twist.
“Chick, don’t you fucking d–”
Combusken goes into her signature roundhouse kick, sending the offending Patrat flying, along with a wave of sand and unmentionables–to her trainer.
The resulting scream of profanity can be heard from across the room.

Taylor had missed out on a couple of floors, and was a little startled to see how much progress had been made in her absence. "Whoops," she murmured under her breath as she hurried to catch up with the frontrunners. A moue of disgust pursed her lips as she stepped gingerly through the sandy flooring, and the back of one hand rose to press against her nose in an attempt to block out the scent.
"Well," she breathed. "That's disgusting." Of all the times to jump back in, it had to be during litterbox o'clock?
She was almost relieved when a Patrat appeared in front of her, hissing angrily. She couldn't say she really blamed it for the attutide this time, given the less than hospitable locale. "Yeah yeah, hiss to you too, buddy." Came her grumbled response. Her voice was a little thready as she tried to minimize how much air she pulled into her lungs, but at least Mumble didn't seem bothered by things as she sent him out to face the opponent.

"Ah, yeah, the litterbox... Didn't miss this floor." Tuesday comments to no one in particular when climbing up the stairs into the vastness of the Tower of Cats' seventh floor. She has no fond memories of this place, but we certainly aren't going to go into details about what an utter failure her last venture into this colossal litterbox was, will we now?
"...Didn't miss it one bit." Her tongue clicks when seeing a pile of grey sand move, slithering forward and directly towards her. This time, she's ready. She knows what's coming, and when the Patrat (or Watchog?) jumps out, she has a vial already in hand, being quick to throw it...
It hits the glorified rat right in the face, loudly exploding into a horrifying MUD BOMB that blinds it and causes it to fall back onto the sand.
"Yeah! How do you like that?!"

Ergh...why was he here? He hadn't exactly hadn't gotten a chance to properly meet and greet the new cat that the tower spat at him (he picked it up by the scruff, and it had a permanent smirk on its face. He didn't like it). But still, it was a pretty easy way to get Pokemon if he helped out, and so long as it meant beating up other Pokemon, that meant that his would grow stronger, right?
He didn't expect that would mean stepping into a giant litter box. He didn't own pets, but he saw enough internet videos on cats to know what this was, and to see it in such a scale (and the creatures here weren't even cats, they were rats!) was disgusting. Unfortunately that in the avatar shift he couldn't get something like turn off a sense or something (like smell). They would just have to go through this ASAP so that they could nab the prize and move to the next floor.
Thankfully, the pop up happened to correspond with a Pokemon he just caught, though admittedly he had no idea if anything here could catch on fire. Sand wasn't flammable, right? Right?? He chucked the Poke Ball in the air and let out his newly captured Cyndaquil from the crater, looking at first rather confused before immediately being whacked by the pungent stench. <What the Giratina is this?!>
❝Less talking, more Ember!❞
Channeling inner frustration from being beat and the terrible surroundings he was placed in, the fire rat shot fire at the other rats, and Kallisto was happy to watch them burn.

Saint waddles onto the floor. He had smelled disaster coming from a mile away, and prepared accordingly by wrapping every dangling piece of fabric he has over his face. He now looks like a mummified Stay Puft guy. The smell is still rancid, but very muted now (at the cost of breathing and sight in general).
The only reason he has not tripped and fallen face-first into an untimely death is thanks to his Snom, Pichi-pichi, who is sitting comfortably on his head and piloting him a la Remy Ratatouille style. <Weft... weft… otha’ weft…>
“Prrhi, Ir cahn unrrsan wha’chur shayn,” Saint mumbles through his mask, hands on either side of him and moving at a glacial pace, save for the violent jolts when Pichi-pichi yanks him to the next step.
<Yow dowing gweat,> Pichi-pichi says, completely truthful, because she knows she’s doing great, and by extension her Jaeger too. And, just to flex, she yanks him to the right just as a Patrat comes digging out of the sand, causing his foot to stomp it back down. Yeah, you stay down when Pichi-pichi says so.

"Oh! It's sandy now." The Captain Obvious points out, a bright smile illuminating his expression when stepping into the next floor of the Tower of Cats. It's sandy and weirdly scented. It's not a bad scent, mind you, but it's just as unnatural as the grey colour of the sand and its claylike sections. Almost as if... "I get it! It's a litterbox. Fuck, that's hilarious!"
The Captain laughs, and it's with flair that throws a Pokéball up in the air...
"Alright, Queen Anne! Show me what you've got!"
A beautiful Magikarp of violet scales is released then, but instead of gracefully swimming through the air as a Swimmer's Pokémon usually do, she just... gives up, flopping down onto the grey sand. She Splashes about, doing no harm other than splattering sand all over the place.
The Captain does no more than watch her, brows raised.
"Well, damn, girl... Anticlimactic, ain't it? "

Okay so in theory, cats were more of her alley. Cute little guys. Purred. All things she enjoyed. Odile however, was not expecting... sand? What the hell was that smell? She recoiled, head twisting as the back of her hand flew up over her nose. "Ugh, okay..." She... had a sinking suspicion she knew what this was, but she was not going to speak it. Nope. No thanks!
She just wanted a cat, okay?
"Giselle, do something?" Odile pleaded, the Mareep being by her side as she had entered the tower. The lamb's teeth gritted, a spark or two flying from her wool at the sight of all this. "Ugh, fine! Just so we can leave quick!" Horns whirled to life, more and more electricity welling up until it was unleased at the first Patrat that had looked at them and was walking their way. Got zapped for free, congrats little guy.

The Litterbox is cleared quickly (as I'm sure the cats appreciate) and players may advance to the penultimate floor, where Patrat and Watchog have united to make their almost-final-stand.
Tower of Cats Floor 8: MOUSETRAP. Kitty litter falls off your shoes as you leave Floor 7 behind, advancing onto a floor that creaks slightly underfoot like cardboard. Casting your eyes upwards, you may notice an array of giant plastic traps such as falling cages, springboards, giant hammers, gear-grinders, and other various Rube Golberg-esque devices (see the board game). The items are clearly here for you to trap Patrat, but be careful the clever Patrat don't trap you first.
You have defeated 80 Patrat and unlocked SHINX (U)! The next reward will be unlocked at 90 Patrat.

One thing that Comet had been keeping an eye on before the raid event started in earnest were the Challenge Towers, which were a great way to get some free mons without needing to spend an in-game dime (it just took time, and they were themed around whatever the tower was about, and this one was cats...would a fire cat be too much to ask for?) Anyway, thankfully the tower teleported him to the current floor, which was...
Filled to the brim with contraptions that looked like they belonged in Tom and Jerry. Hidden and peeking from these dastardly mechanisms were the Patrat and Watchog, gnashing their teeth in chorus, as if waiting for him to walk into the trap himself. Hah! As if he would fall for that. At least now he could participate since the current prompt matched up with one of the moves Kimchi had, so he pulled out his Poke Ball and let the Cinderace out. The rabbit shook his head and took a good look around.
<Uh...Comet, what is this place?>
❝Well, let's just say that if we clear this floor successfully we get a new team members. Unfortunately (according to my research), this place imposes rules. You need to headbutt one of these guys to clear it.❞
The Cinderace looked uncertain, which made sense. After all, in a place that was waiting for you to make one wrong step, it made more sense to use ranged attacks. ❝I'll be the bait.❞
<What? No! What if you'll get hurt?>
❝Psh, I'm not a helpless kid, Kimchi.❞ besides, those Patrat and Watchog looked too worked up to be thinking straight, so he spotted one very obvious looking "x marks the spot" trap and yelled for the wild Pokemon to come closer. Attracted by the noise, a few Patrat would break away from their hiding spot and give chase. ❝Get ready!❞
Comet would run right towards the X before sidestepping the little mechanism that triggered the trap. The Patrat weren't so lucky, getting caught in a springboard that launched them up in the air, with Kimchi waiting to Headbutt them painfully. Inefficient, but the prompt notification did pop up, so that was a success. ❝Heh, easy peasy.❞ Prompt #81: [Tower]6d3j2XVW1d501d50
