Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

Nikoli ( Peace Maker ) wouldn't take no for an answer and that was why he was sitting here. On the couch. On his fourth break today. He'd been barred from anything caffinated other than a tea until he'd finished something of a detox to get his system back in check and that meant he was tired. He'd been falling asleep on these breaks more often than not which was even more annoying. Because Nikoli wouldn't wake him up if he fell asleep. Which meant other people would. He sat there, his eyes a bit heavy as his head tilted back some. Never before had he felt so lazy and useless in his life than he did now. And it was all thanks to the fact that he had flown just a little bit too close to the sun for a hot minute. And now he was a hot mess. Olga BanHammer

Or at least what she hoped was someone close to sleep. She really did not want to know what kind of paperwork went into finding a dead body. Also she would probably kind of miss him. Allen wasn’t technically her job, they were in totally different departments. But she respected his (albeit sad) romantic hustle, and the man knew how to work a betting pool. Specifically a betting pool she still wanted to win. So, out of the goodness of her heart, Felicia decided to at least make sure he hadn’t died. She crept into the room and proceeded to chuck the red ink pen cartridges at Allen’s head. “Well, well, well, what do we have here?” Felicia didn’t bother waiting for a response before she walked to the couch and shoved Allen to the side enough for her to sit down. “So. Allen, buddy, pal. We gonna talk about it?” She shot him a glare. “That was rhetorical, by the way. We’re gonna talk about it. And I know that usually it’s HRs job to like, handle emotions or whatever that dumb shit is. But we all know that’s a little more complicated for you. So, you now have to deal with me.” She let out a long sigh. “What the fuck, man?”

He should have just stayed home today probably. He knew there was going to be some sort of trouble. But it happened to be his friend who was going to cause it. Or at least ally. She was the first person outside of Nikoli to ask what was going on at least. But obviously he couldn't tell him. All of this was his fault somehow. Even though Allen had been the one working himself to death for absolutely no reason. He pulled the hair tie off of his wrist and pushed his hair back up into the ponytail that had been taken down due to him assuming he would get some sort of nap. "They said it was exhaustion to the nth degree and that I needed to start taking it easy or I could have a heart attack or something like that." But that wasn't the real explanation she was looking for and he knew that. She wanted to know the nitty gritty of why it had happened. The same as everyone else. But really... She was kind of the only person he could tell without getting weird sympathy looks or that sad head nod that people gave. She really was his only friend he could talk to about it. "So, Nikoli started playing UNOVR in private... And so I started playing UNOVR in private. And he's pathetic in game. He didn't even know to equip a class." And that was just the tip of the iceberg. And this iceberg was probably big enough to sink the titanic. It sure as fuck had been big enough to sink him that was for sure. "So on top of all of the regular work I do for him I started getting stronger because he was so pathetic and he liked that I was strong in game." But really Nikoli didn't even know that it was him. "I've been doing as many of the back to back events to get as strong and as many items as I can." So that he could continue to impress him. As someone else. Someone he didn't even know. For fucks sake he was stupid.

"I used my little brother's five in one shampoo-body wash too when I was too tired playing the game to buy my own." And it had smelled terrible. But now he just liked tormenting Felicia back before he got back into the serious bits. "You want to know something super fucked up though? Like, extremely?" He lolled his head backwards to rub his eyes underneath the glasses. "We've played together in game. He considers me one of his closest friends, in game. And he confessed to me that he liked someone. And asked me advice on how to go about it since he's divorced and hasn't been in the game for a long time." He couldn't help but laugh a little bit. It wasn't his normal controlled laugh. It was something almost desperate about it. Manic. "Please don't ban me from the game I've seen some of the dev teams updates that are coming soon." And he wanted to participate in those events. Even outside of wanting to be strong for Nikoli ( Peace Maker ). "I'd ask you if you were in love with Bryan ( Big Bee ) but I feel like keeping my kidneys. I need them to process alcohol." Or was that the liver? He wasn't really sure anymore. Everything blended together these days. "I mean... It would help to know if I have any sort of chance... Even if he's in love with someone else." And he certainly didn't want to blindly see Nikoli coming into the office with a cute guy if he could help it. He would have to become someone else's secretary. "If he starts dating someone else can I be your secretary instead?" Did QA testers even have secretaries?
