Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

Her Rufflet wasn't knocked out on their first try, the Gothita was nothing difficult about her... She thought her luck has turned around. However, she needed a full party before she could start doing something interesting at UNOVR. Variety was the key to success (as her Mom would say) and having Pokemon with different types should help her survive in several battles from events and PVPs ahead. "Good job, Ruffy. Looks like you can do anything if you put your mind to it." Her Rufflet puffed his chest as if it was confident in his skills. "Well, don't get too overconfident. We're not done here yet. Can you go around this area again for another wild Pokemon nearby?" Before she knew it, her Rufflet suddenly flew away with a confident caw. At least that was a yes to her... ENTERING THE TALL GRASS! When a Wild PKMN appears, reply using the ~~ATTACK~~ button to weaken it! But watch out— it might fight back! If your PKMN faints, you must go to the closest SHRINE to restore your PKMN. When the Wild PKMN's HP reaches 10% or below, up to 2 players may spend 25 BYTES to catch it here. You may also simply ~~retreat~~ to end the encounter. Retreating succeeds automatically. Aero

She groaned and turned to her Rufflet. "Let me rephrase it. Anything but Gothita! I already caught one and I rather not catch any dupes while we're here!" She groaned again as she hung her head. Aero felt sorry about the wild Gothita, but she rather not waste any time with it. "Sorry, little gal. I know you want to fight, but I already have a Gothita with me. So... I'm sorry and I hope there is another trainer to catch you." With that, Aero and Ruffy left the wild Gothita as the former turned to her Pokemon. "Alright, Ruffy. One more time. Search around for wild Pokemon except for Gothita, okay?" Her Rufflet cawed before he flew off again.

With her Rufflet still searching around for another Pokemon around the area, she has to stay where she was until he would come back. Until then, she took out her Fuecoco and played a small game of tic-tac-toe on the ground. And so far, her Fire Croc Pokemon was surprisingly winning at every game. "What?! Again?!" Aero exclaimed as she saw that she lost another game. "Just what the heck is your luck with tic-tac-toe? And I thought you're a bit ditzy." Her Fuecoco only responded with a happy cry as he waved his arms. She was frustrated, but she shrugged it off. At least she had some fun... "CAW!!!" Her eyes widened as she heard that familiar cry. "That must be Ruffy!" She turned around and saw what her Rufflet dragged in.

On one hand, it was only a Zubat and part-Flying-type. But on the other, at least it was a different Pokemon and another typing. Poison-type wasn't her forte, but at least she could try having one on her team since she often stored it in the PC in the previous games she played. "Good job, Ruffy! I'll take it from here!" Aero called out and took out another Poke Ball. "And I know which Pokemon can battle that Zubat. Come on out, Lollie!" With a toss of her Poke Ball, she released her Gothita as she cried out, ready to battle. "This is your first battle, Lollie. Let's give it our all. Use Confusion!"

Aero was impressed that despite her Gothita's first battle against a wild Pokemon. While she didn't inflict it with a Confusion condition, she managed to deal super-effective damage against the Zubat. This was a bigger improvement than her first capture in the steppes as she was forced to heal at the shrine nearby before she could capture her Rufflet. But this time, she was able to do so without relying on it, which was a relief since she had to leave the settlement if she want to heal. So with that thought out, Aero took out her Poke Ball, knowing what would happen next. "Now use Confusion one more time!" Her Gothita cried as she let out another wave of psychic energy to the flying bat while Aero prepared for the inevitable.
