LOOKING FOR EGGS! searching... While the real-world seasons may not strongly affect most of UNOVR, THE ROOKERY has been transformed yet again. The stone tower, with its giant nest at the top, has been converted into an epic ski/sled course. From steep black diamond runs to gentle sledding slopes, there's room for players of all kinds to enjoy these last few weeks of winter.
And who knows? Maybe you'll even find a Pokemon egg buried in a snowdrift!
BEWARE: Hungry, egg-craving Pokemon sled these slopes as well, trying to beat you to a snowy winter omelet. Keep an eye on these scavengers or you'll find nothing but yolk on these slippery slopes!

He had... A lot of Bug Pokemon. And right now felt kind of like the poster boy for why you shouldn't just feed stray Pokemon all the time. But in his defense he'd actually hunted these down. One sat in his hair and another was worming around in his sleeve for warmth. He guessed that bug Pokemon didn't do too well in the cold like this. Then again neither did he. Amanita had never been skiing in his life. And if it was always this cold then he had no desire to go and do it outside of the game either. The only real reason he was tucked away doing this right now was because he was looking for a Pokemon egg. Awkwardly he half walked and half hopped in his little snowboard. He thought maybe for some reason that would be easier to use than the skiis. But it absolutely wasn't.
He wobbled and fell down on his ass again. Puffs of powdered snow going into the air as he hit the ground. At least he'd only managed to hurt himself. The worms on him had gotten used to him falling over and now just clung tightly to him instead of bailing. Every time they bailed he then had to hear choruses of 'oh its cold its cold its cold'. As if he didn't already know that. They were too small anyways. Anyone who zoomed by properly would squish them or something if they got lost in the snow. And he didn't want that to happen.

"Cool."
It's no Alps, but it'll do, right? That's the beauty of deep dive VR. It may be raining right outside of Mars' hotel room right about not (he has always hated the rain), but when putting on the WorldScreen and booting it up, Tuesday can be at places like this... snowboarding.
A Freezer's natural coordination for this sort of thing would not be needed given Mars' actual familiarity with the sport, but that natural coordination and class flavour allows for fun things like doing an insane jump while her Vulpix sits on the board.
"Hell yeah!" The Alchemist laughs, completingly ignoring the objective of egg hunting for now. There will be time for that (AKA she fully intends to let others do most of the work) but for now... why not just enjoy the slope? After all, winter won't last long.

He’d been wondering where the snowy terrain was. Every videogame had some variant of it as a staple, and as someone who grew up in the northern reaches of Hokkaidō, finding perfect skiing areas was like home away from home.
“Outta the way!”
A voice howls down the steep slopes rounding the tower. Kazuki laughed, his snowboard razing a path down the smooth planes of white. He was, for once, dressed appropriately, clad in gear he had presumably borrowed from the NPCs.
Presumably.
He weaves an absurd path, only narrowly dodging other players—many of whom were shocked by the near-collision, the man’s yelling, and the accompanying sound of a cat screaming for its life.
Sprigatito had thought being tucked in his trainer’s hoodie and going for a joyride would be fun.
Sprigatito had thought wrong.
They do come to something of a slow halt when he nearly bulldozes some poor guy covered in worms.
“Hey! The hell are you doing?!” Kazuki hisses, pulling his snow goggles off his face to glare. “I know you can’t die here, but do you want to fucking die?”

Kasey had never gone skiing before. They didn't live by any slopes, and would be too scared of being judged to go anyway. But... here, they cautiously hedged that everyone was new to VR skiing, and... given the sight of Tuesday doing some scary-looking jump... Kasey wouldn't be standing out any time soon.
However, that didn't make the actual skiing any easier. Silvermoon wobbled, between the heavy boots, long skis, and thick snow. At least they would stay warm, with Phoenix tucked against their neck, and the ever-present little flickers of embers around them. Silvermoon still hadn't... figured out what those were. But it would be okay, regardless.
Carefully, they eased themselves down one of the more "beginner friendly" slopes, a little unwieldy in their nervousness, but... after a few stumbles and a lot of getting back up, Silvermoon found they could go fast with this. Really fast. Scary-if-you-think-about-it,-but-too-fast-to-think fast. And that was exciting.
Heart still pounding, they slowly tried to ease themselves back. There was an objective here, after all. But... what did a pokemon egg even look like?

Redead LOVED the snow! He grew up in a place that didn't have a lot of it. So when he experienced it for the first time at the ripe old age of fifteen - he was absolutely shocked! No longer did he have to simply see it on the tv - he now got to experience it! The hours building snowmen and throwing snowballs were worth the killer cold he got a day later.
"Mmman~ I wanna make snow angels!" He whined as he stared at the slopes morosely. Instead, he would have to be content with the ski/sled slope - something he actually never experienced before as Natalie. He hadn't been to a mountain for such events. He's traveled through them though! By car at that!
Taking a toboggan for himself he huddled in it as he gave himself a push, sliding down the slope he let out maniacal laughter as he then crashed into a snowbank. Still laughing he broke out of the pile of snow as though he was coming up for air. "I gotta do this again!" Redead cackled, wholly amused at the situation. Perhaps he could still get his snow angel, yet?

Amanita hated being yelled at. It made him freeze up and gave him idiot brain. At least it used to. He was used to being yelled at by a lot of people in his life after all. But right now his ass was cold and he was pretty sure some snow had gotten up his nose. "Obviously I'm having a snow bath. It's the hot new thing." Or maybe the cold new thing. He was too cold to really care right now. And instead of being reasonable right now he was going to retaliate. To being yelled at. By chucking a snowball at the guy and his stupid snow goggles. After all he'd nearly buried him and the worm crew alive with his reckless snowboarding.
Never mind the fact that Amanita was maybe just a little upset that this guy could move around without falling on his ass constantly. He'd never claimed to be any sort of coordinated but he was at least trying to do his best. He felt so bad for whatever eggs were hanging out in the frozen rookery like this. And even worse for whatever egg this guy got. Rude. < Heck you! > A voice shouted from his sleeve and a head popped out. It was a weedle. But whatever.

The snowball explodes against his chest. Since he’s actually clothed this time, the attack does no damage.
Kazuki snorts. “A snow bath, huh? Guess I should’ve buried you better, then.”
He guessed he could do with a break. He stepped off his board, carrying it with one arm as he stepped towards the white-haired trainer.
“You’ve got something on your sleeve,” he says, pointing at the little orange pest wiggling out from the guy’s sleeve. Because of his settings, he unfortunately didn’t hear the sick burn.
<Don't be rude!> squeaked his Sprigatito over his shoulder, having finally recovered from the vertigo and was ready to argue with the sleeve weedle.
“Let me help you with that.” Kazuki then proceeds to use his snowboard as a shovel to chuck hunks of snow at the guy.

He was a little bit at a disadvantage. Considering the fact that he was on his ass and this guy was apparently going to bury him alive in snow. But really what he was at a disadvantage by was that he had no idea how to unclip the stupid fucking shoes on the little snowboard so he could use it to retaliate back. This was definitely not what the Rookery had in mind whenever they had let people set up shop to use this place as a winter wonderland.
But he was pretty sure he could probably figure it out as the snow began to pile up on him. Luckily. It was powder. And not that gross ice snow that probably would have actually hurt if he was being buried in it. < You tried to 'quish us! > Weedle so wonderfully pointed out to the Sprigatitto. Not really knowing what a Sprigatitto was or where it came from. But it looked green and he was gonna eat it if it tested him. Probably.
"It's called a Weedle snow for brains. It's a Pokemon. You know, the whole point of the game." His Pokemon wasn't just a 'something' it was a good little guy. A lil fella. Just a lil guy. Lil buddy man. The wurmple clinging to his hair hadn't said anything. Yet. But it hadn't said anything the entire time he'd had it. Amanita was pretty sure there was something severely wrong with it. It did however crawl down and with it's little wormy hands, undo the latches on Amanita's boots for him so that he now too had a snow weapon.

<It was an accident!> Sprigatito cries. <And the word is squish!>
“Hey, now. No need to resort to names.” Kazuki hums, still preoccupied with turning the guy into a snow sculpture. Not the best spot for it, admittedly—every scoop was all soft. He was basically covering him in cold glitter, or turning him into a human-sized powdered donut.
“I’m helping you and your worm take a bath.” He tosses the snowboard, deciding to take matters into his own hands. Can’t make a masterpiece without using the right tools, after all.
“So, hold still.”
He lunges for him, intending to shove his face into the snow, the cat tucked in his hoodie squeaking in protest because this trip was supposed to be a vacation!

In real life, Jinx wasn't much of a fan of winter, especially the kind of bone-chilling winter you found up north. Winter there meant bitter cold temperatures, meant ice that was just asking for you to slip and fall, meant having to shovel half-frozen snow out of your driveway... yeah, Jinx was glad she'd moved down to Florida long ago, where all those winter woes were a world away.
But in UNOVR, where there was no shoveling, no risk of permanent injury if you fell, only gorgeous glittering snow and comfortably cold temperatures and endless time to play? Yeah, Jinx could get behind that kind of winter no problem.
...she didn't trust her skiing skills, though, so she kept eyeing a sled instead. Sure, she could have trouble directing that too, but it should be a little easier... right?
Before committing to any one activity, though, Jinx started making a snow fort--or really, just a misshapen snow wall--and gathering up a few snowballs. A snowball fight sounded like a great way to end the winter, and that sled could always be her getaway vehicle if she found herself outmatched!

The Weedle reared up a bit, pulling itself further out of the sleeve. < That's what I said! 'Quish! > It was certain it had said it right and was getting even more wiggly than usual about the whole thing. He wasn't going to be able to really move out of the way that well. Not when it was pretty certain that the guy had a one up on him. So instead Amanita threw his half un-hooked legs up in the air and sending his snowboard... Flying off into a random direction. "Fuck." And then he was even further on the ground. Snow definitely up his nose now as he scrambled to grab for something and... Ended up grabbing a snow covered egg? With a little... Scarf? "Oh actually fuck off I found an egg." Which was part of why they were here. To find these little guys and take them back to the egg breeders or whatever.

He misses. The white-haired trainer’s flailing allow him to escape his grasp, and as Kazuki is recovering, his palms frost-coated, the guy announces his departure, apparently having found an egg.
He can only raise a brow, wondering if he had lost his mind. That thing was a pile of snow with a ribbon tied around it.
A soft meow calls for him. Sprigatito is by his side, his mouth tugging a bright red ribbon behind a round pile of snow.
He picks it up with the impulse to hurl it like a snowball at the retreating trainer, but it’s incredibly heavy—and warm.
“… Maybe an omelet?” He wonders aloud. Sprigatito, not knowing the insinuation, meows his assent—he'd love to eat!
It is fortunate, then, that the egg cracks open before he can step into the kitchen of the trainer’s lodge.
“Shit!” The warmth of life it had been emitting bursts tenfold, nearly singing his fingerprints. There’s a moment of frenzy as the ball of light bounces from one hand to the other, before finally settling, leaving him with a pile of wet fur clinging to his cracking palms.
It’s a monkey. The red hair on top of its head is a pompadour looking vaguely like a flame, or an ice cream, or a pile of filth. It gazes at him with large black eyes, before its attention is caught by Sprigatito kicking a fuss on the floor.
The trainer sitting by the lodge’s communal fireplace chuckles, their lap occupied by an egg they’re carefully warming. “That’s an early hatcher. Congrats!”

Playing around in the snowbank for a bit was fun and refreshing. So imagine his surprise when he hit something hard. His Snivy sat huddled on his shoulder a cute little hand-knitted scarf around its tiny neck (courtesy of a cosmetic item he got) as it peered at whatever the silver-haired man pulled out from the snow.
<"An...">
"Egg?"
They both blinked. Oh right! This was The Rookery after all! How silly of him to forget! It's not like he got distracted by this winter wonderland! Hah...Hah...
Holding it close he felt it was still warm as he slowly climbed out to the snowbank he abandoned the toboggan to make his way up the mountain again. Preferably away from being stuck in six inches of snow!
