<No but for real, let's not do anything spooky okay? It's not that kind of season and I'm not all about that. You know what you should do, actually? Get out that egg that we found! The one for finding the instrument and saving the day of music!>

Caspian was quickly starting to come to the realization that it may have been better if he had just kept his Pokemon in its ball until the time came for battle. He just thought that it could have been nice to have some bonding. Just because it was a game didn't mean that he couldn't actually try to instill some kind of emotion into things, right? That was sort of the whole point of this being an augmented reality sort of thing, right? Basically being able to make it as realistic as you wanted it to be.

"Tell you what. We can check out the egg and I'll even let you guess what's going to end up hatching out of it. But only after we find what we're looking for, how's that?"

Hibiscus looked less than amused at this suggestion and looked away from the trainer, grumbling something under his breath. And although he couldn't be certain what was said, Caspian was pretty sure that he heard something about this not being anything that the Bulbasaur wanted to do. And he didn't know where this attitude was coming from, either. Before this point, his starter had been absolutely adorable, loving flowers and sort of playing around with some other Pokemon. This? Oh no... no, it was definitely not what Caspian wanted. What he really wanted...

May actually be right there!

<Heck yes, let's do this!> the Bulbasaur cried, really pleased with himself. This was only his second battle, but it was going to be the best one yet, he just knew it! Especially when he was getting to use one of his very best, most awesome attacks ever! <Bombs away!>

The bulb on his back glowed before firing off like a cannon, a large glowing ball coming from the tip of it. It was a pretty awesome animation, there was no doubt about that, and Caspian once again found himself in awe with the way that things actually looked. Arching high up in the air, the large "seed" of bombastic light came falling back down, landing atop the Noibat and exploding loudly. It was clear that the attack had been pretty direct, and Caspian let out a low whistle. Eighteen damage was nothing to scoff at in the first turn.

As the smoke cleared, the Noibat came ripping out from it, looking less than pleased with what just happened. Not that Caspian was surprised to see this. Still, he winced as he saw the bat go straight for Hibiscus, whom managed to turn just enough that the Pokemon pretty much glanced off of his side.

"Nice moves!" Caspian called out, grinning. "Alright, you know what I'd like to see next? Poison powder! It'll be interesting to see how the game shows that..."

It was soon getting to be quite annoying that their opponent could continue hitting as hard as ever no matter how much health had been taken from it, whereas they were stuck doing less and less damage themselves. Now it was Hibiscus' turn to barely hit the Noibat, pretty much brushing past it for a single hit point worth of damage. Noibat, on the other hand, launched yet another gust, shredding the poor plant's mind along with his own health.

Caspian hesitated, wondering if he should just scoop his Bulbasaur up and run away. It was an option, that was true. But he was so determined to catch this Pokemon, he didn't want to just bounce. "Maybe... I don't know. Why don't you try your seed bomb again?!"

He figured that it couldn't hurt at this point, although Hibiscus was probably thinking otherwise. The poor plant certainly looked worse for wear, and Caspian already had a feeling that they'd have to go to a shrine after all, before finishing this up. Alas... such was the way he supposed. You had to learn how these things worked. But at least they had that option. It could be worse. They could have to forfeit the entire thing!

A lot of power went into that Vine Whip, and Noibat was ill prepared for it, with the cracking sound loud and full of all of the frustration that the plant dinosaur was feeling. Struck hard, the bat Pokemon collapsed to the ground, fainted, leaving it wide open for just the thing that Caspian had been hoping for.

"We did it! You did it! See Hibiscus, I knew that you were going to put that Noibat in its place!" He selected the Golden Pokeball, and it materialized in his hand, ready for him to throw it and capture his newest Pokemon.

<There! Now we're going to get out of here, right? And you're going to show me the egg and let me guess what's going to hatch out of it, yeah? But first... can we go? I just have this spooky feeling, and I don't like that. Come on, we did catch that thing...>

It was true. They had done what Caspian had been aiming for, which meant that they could move on. But what was next? Well he thought that was fairly simple. Now that he had gone ahead and caught a Pokemon, he could go and do another one of the tutorials. Which one, though? He wanted to start by getting those running shoes. Although it might have seemed a bit unnecessary, he had a feeling that there was another reason for actually doing it.

"Yeah, alright. Come on, let's head to.. mom's house."
