One fiasco dealt with, they all worked to find a nearby cave- one not too deep, and not already infested. Kitten started a fire, and curled up for a nap. That left Verai to lay out the ore he'd collected, and the pieces of his armor. It would all need to be repaired- and he could only assume the repairs would be similar to the initial crafting.
He felt Kazuki's eyes on him, and opted to completely ignore him. |

Though... how would he be able to craft or repair his armor? The prompts before had been tied to music, yes, but... it had visual cues. What was he to do now...?
Well, that was something he could deal with when it came up. He shook his head, running his hands over the armor. It was... terribly melted in places, scorched and charred in others. He couold feel the ash come away on his fingers. Where to even start? |

Verai opted to ignore her. He considered his options, and... came up short. There really was no other option, then. HE sighed, and turned towards Kazuki. "Would you... be willing to help me?" HE asked, voice quiet. He just wanted to fix his armor, and nothing more.

Kazuki is sitting on an outcrop of stone, one leg folded and chin resting on a propped-up palm. Heâd been uncharacteristically quiet since they transferred to the cave; firstly because there isnât anything to punch, and secondly because the ensuing conversation had piqued his interest.
Verai finally turns to him and asks, and the contemplative look on his face vanishes in an instant, replaced by his usual smirk.
âSure.â Standing from the rock, he goes up to Verai, taking the manâs hand while the other pulls him by his waist into a familiar pose.
âAnything for a friend,â he purrs.

There was always a spark of surprise when someone touched him now. With Kitten, not so much, because she was small and made noise when she scrabbled around. With Kazuki... Kazuki laughs at the immediate bout of crankiness. âIt means what it means.â
Unlike their dance for the princeâs armor, he doesnât attempt to swing Verai around like a marionette on a DDR pad. He leads their steps lazily, still hitting the little arrows the crafting UI demands, but without any force. Whether this is because he doesnât give a shit how successful the repair is or because he wants to legitimately dance is left to reader interpretation.
âWhat did your cat want us to say, exactly?â Because he really just cannot get enough of being a little shit.

Verai let himself be led, eyes unconsciously closing as they danced. There was the faint hum of music in the background, just underneath the crunch of gravel under their feet. He made a face at the question. "She's gotten some ridiculous idea in her head. I don't know..." HE huffed. "I don't know where she gets half of it." |

Verai closes his eyes, which is an interesting choice for a dancing partner. Now it kind of looks like theyâre swaying him to sleep.

"I know what I taught her," He insisted, spinning at Kazuki's behest. The music was slower than what had been when helping the Prince. Was there a reason ffor that? Was it random, or based on something. "I didn't teach her to kill and rend and whatever else she thinks she needs to do."
Kazuki pulled him close, for a dip or something, and he turned his face away.

The music faded and after a long moment he pulled himself back, out of Kazuki's grip. "Enough of that," He said, trying to sound dismissive. "Does the armor seem any better?
His question fell on deaf ears, Kitten curled up asleep by the cave's entrance. |

Kazuki chuckles, but does end up relenting his hold on Verai and letting the man shove several feet of distance between them. The music has already finished. The dance felt like it was gone in the blink of an eye.
At Veraiâs question, he looks them over. âWell, it doesnât look like they were curb stomped by a mack truck anymore.â His hand reaches over, knocking against the chest plate, which did seem less dented. âBut what does it matter? Iâll just wreck it again anyways,â he hums.

Kazuki grins at the glare Verai casts his way. The first time he saw them, the ears did put him off, but now he admits theyâre kind of cute. On a testy grown man, hilariously enough. It makes messing with him almost irresistible. âBut stripping you is so fun. And it's the fastest way to kick your ass.â The last fight still lives on in his memory. He remembers being slammed with a sword and being crushed against a wall. His skin itches to relive it.
âWe should hit the arena again,â Kazuki says, radiating eagerness and impatience. âYou want to make me eat iron after last time, right?â And, as insurance: âThereâs also apparently this huge fucking ice cat there that you can fight, and theyâll give you a smaller version as a reward.â
Speak of the devil, Kitten wakes from her slumber and toddles over, doing the cat version of a potty dance as she asks what theyâre talking about. âWeâre talking about the arena. You remember that cabin? Where you and my catââ he has to stop and mindfully replace âplayâ with âfightâ ââfought together.â He honestly didn't recall how that fight even ended. Hadn't they fallen asleep in a pile? "Wanna go again?"
