Tunnels

<'Do you hear that? I think there's something up ahead.'>

It's the same sound as before. There's no pebbles kicked, there is no steps, but there is the unmistakable sound of something moving and along with it a strange whisper. Instead of responding, Tuesday gives Orm an affirmative nod, and just as before, they prepare themselves for battle.

A spear raised, a dragon rush at the ready. What will be it this time? What awaits them in the darkness?

Once they recover from the whole 'dealing with an annoying Yanma' situation, Tuesday and Orm continue making their way down the tunnel. Quite literally down, for the Alchemist soon realizes that they're heading deeper and deeper into the earth.

What's more... there's sounds. Sounds that grow louder and louder. There's something waiting for them ahead.

Once again, both Tuesday and Orm ready themselves.

Surely the burrow can't go that deep, right? Surely they'll reach the end of this tunnel soon and surely there's no way they won't run into any other absurd Pokémon.

Tuesday tells herself these things, but Tuesday also knows that often things in UNOVR are as difficult to explain as they are unexpected. So, she keeps her spear in hand, ready for whatever may come...

After a while, it becomes clear that she may have been right, for down the tunnel the Doduo had come from, something shines in the distance.

<'Is that the exit?>

"That or another light source underground... Unlikely, though."

There's nothing left to do but to go check it out, although perhaps this attempt would find itself interrupted. After all, apparently these tunnels are crawling with wild Pokémon.

<'So... do you wanna get on my back and have a look from the air?'> Orm asks once they're out of the burrow, already rising from the ground even if only by a mere foot. He follows closely after her, of course.

"Nah, I think I'll stick to walking for now. There might be more burrows nearby."

<'Ugh. I don't think I like the burrows.'>

At this, Tuesday laughs, because it's exactly the sort of reaction she had expected Orm to have. She pats the Dragonair's side in a gesture of comfort, and together, they venture onwards.

Tuesday's mismatched gaze wanders over the plains, paying close attention to details. She looks at the ground for Duraludon tracks, at the tall grass for signs of it being disturbed by a large Pokémon, and even for signs of steel reflecting light in the middle of the air. Hell, she even pays close attention to what her HUD tells her, watching the HP bars and nametags of all Pokémon around her.

She watches and she walks, accompanied by her Dragonair.

How much longer will it take until she finds one of her targets?

<'Oh! Do you see that?'>

It takes her a moment, but when her gaze falls upon what Orm refers to, those sapphire and ruby eyes widen in both excitement and surprise. There's a glimmer in the distance, like that of a mirror reflecting light or even of metal doing as much.

Could it be another Klink? A Magnemite, perhaps? Or, better yet, a Duraludon?

"Let's go check it out."
