002 - Paper Route

The player labelled Fairytale looked out of place in a town. While the player was perfectly human-shaped technically, there was a presence to them.

It was helped by their gardener status which while enhanced the effect of the Crown of Thorns won in a battle long past enhanced the flowers blossoming around them at every step, almost seeming to lean towards them for the briefest moment as he walked away from the callously created flowers. That crown and the increased class aesthetic that accompanied it combined with their shoeless-ness and simple yet vaguely ancient attire made them seem more like a some being playing pretend at humanity.

It had been a while since they had played, and it was only right to practice some basics they had forgotten, was it not? Fairytale gave a brilliant smile towards the player labeled M'Foxy. Yet, there was something darker lurking in that smile. Or maybe it was a simply trick of the eye. "Hello, hello~! You are the one I am working with for this delivery tutorial, yes?" Their tone was cheery if somewhat playful.

"Cygnus, huh?" Fairytale gives a thoughtful hum. "While I have met him in the past, I do not know where he would be now." They pause, considering whether or not to give more information or not. It probably would not be useful, but the two were meant to be working together,,. "He was the NPC most heavily involved in the Noonlight Raid, but that was... a while ago."

The foliage around them died as M'Foxy approached, and then bloomed anew only to die again, repeating endlessly. Fairytale wondered silently what class the other player was. Also interesting, the constant whispers of their Crown of Thorns became louder than usual the more M'Foxy approached. It was genuinely pretty fascinating, actually.

"You may call me Fairytale~! My pronouns are they/them," They cheerfully told M'Foxy. "As for my Crown of Thorns..." Fairytale trailed off and grinned, not answering. If the other looked up the Noonlight Raid, she would discover it was from the Raid Shop, but Fairytale was not prone to straight answers.

Fairytale pulled up their UI to try to get directions for the quest, instead. But, puzzling, their UI glitched. It had been working perfectly fine on the way to the meet up point. An idea began to form in their head from all the hints around them. "My UI is malfunctioning, so we will probably have to find Cygnus the old fashioned way! That being, of course, detective work~!" They cheerfully announced, any suspicion well hidden.

But they were not stupid. The glimpse of dark eyes, the dead ground, the louder whispers around this player, and now a malfunction... Something was up. Honestly, it seemed a lot like corruption from the Noonlight Raid, but this player did not seem corrupted. But corruption could have changed since they were last here.
