Adarsa had never been to the Tree of Worms, partly because it sounded awful. Who wanted to be in a tree full of gross squirmy worms? Not him.
But Mars had said there was a legendary pokemon at the bottom of the tree, and, well- Adarsa had to see for himself. So, he made his way to the tree (by... clicking the button) and stood in front of it.
The pop-up did, in fact, make him pause. Did he really want to do this? What if the legendary was just... some big fishing worm?
But what if it was really cool?
Adarsa stepped inside, and was instantly swarmed by pidgey.

Regrettably, had missed a few floors of the Tree of Worms, but now that a group had managed to reach the top of the tree (or bottom), everyone is able to enter the Challenge Tower once again. Unsurprisingly, people are quick to do so, and so Muin finds himself stepping into the tree as well.
Ironically, he brings with him the first Pokémon he had obtained at the original Challenge Tower, and despite not really having been at the tree last time, the Pineco seems all too eager to attack the Pidgey — almost as if Iphin has some sort of grudge or vendetta against them or something.
Hell, Muin doesn't even need to give the Pineco a command, for he's quick to curse out the Pidgey with cruel words that would be incomprehensible to most.
"Hm. Good enough."

Okay, so Odile would be honest. The Tree of Worms sounded... awful. Worms? Oh worm? Oh no! Oh no no no no no. She was not a fan. Sorry to the worms out there. However, was she curious? Yes. Was she willing to experience it, and just run away if she hated it? Also yes.
So here she was, Froakie in her arms, looking around as she entered the place. Awaiting to be jumpscared by a worm. That didn't come, actually. What did show up was a Pidgey screeching in her ears.
Better than a worm? Better than a worm.
"H-Hey! I can hear you, you know?!" Odile huffed, Mercurio the Froakie hopping into action. A growl came from him, somehow overpowering whatever chatter the Pidgey was making. Good for him, good for him. "Are we sure this is the worm tree and not the bird tree...?"

Killian had only reached the last few floors in the original Tree of Worms, but the spectacle he saw was...certainly a sight to behold. Zygarde in all of its glory had descended (ascended?) upon them, and by the end of the challenge they even got strands of its DNA. There were even lucky people that managed to get a full egg, but it already excited him that he could eventually get one for himself (if he had enough money to do so, but there were still so many things to buy and upgrade in order to assure his safety and his Pokemons' wellbeing. Sigh. Too many things to think about).
Anyway, he caught wind that apparently once a tree (or tower) was finished, it could be explored again by players for additional rewards. Having missed pretty much most of them, he decided that getting more Pokemon into his team would be useful, though he couldn't really think of what other types of worms would be there besides bug Pokemon...(and Wormmon, but that's a Digimon). At the start of the tower, it looked like there were a bunch of Pidgey around, pecking and poking, staring him with big ol' eyes.
The pop up said Use a sound-based move. He had to look this up on the wiki for him to confirm, but it turned out that he did have a Pokemon with a matching move. With a grin, he tossed the Poke Ball in the air and let Savannah the Litleo out -- coincidentally, she was also a prize from the tower.
❝Use Noble Roar, Savannah!❞
The Litleo was eager to let out a loud roar (even for her tiny body), and while it was a status move, it did scare some of the birds stiff or make them fly away. For the ones that were still in place, those were easy pickings with well timed headbutts. Prompt#4, [Tower]66MfB5Yf1d501d50

Verai had no particular need to return- he had experienced it all, from angry birds to a giant legendary. His pokemon, however?
Kitty hopped ahead of him, steps jaunty, until she came to the first obstacle- a pidgey, sitting on the ground. Her fluffy tail whipped as she readied herself. <Hi! Go away!> She called, voice soft and squeaky.
The pidgey flew away.

So, Ada had mentioned wanting to come to the Tree of Worms, and of course this would be totally unremarkable information... if it weren't for the fact that this is Ada and Tuesday expects him to get into some kind of trouble that no one else could possibly ever get themselves into. Lo and behold, when she steps into the tree's first floor, starlitlover getting swarmed by Pidgey, which other players seem to be picking out one by one (mostly with a lot of loud noises, for some reason). "...What are you doing?" She asks, a brow quirked, but while Tuesday herself is as calm as she is amused by the sights before her, the Pokémon that accompanies her lets out a deep bellow that resonates through the tree. <'VɆⱤ₥ł₦.'>A WATER PULSE hits the Pidgey, soaking some of them and scaring them away. Yet, the Kyogre does not give chase, their wild gaze instead falling upon Starlitlover himself. "Oh. Were you talking to him, Eon?" Tuesday smirks. "Ha. Now, now, that's not very nice. Let's not be mean to poor Ada."Obviously Legion had actually been talking to the birds... right? Surely that has to be the case. Still, Tuesday sure as hell doesn't bother to ask her Pokémon to clarify. It's much funnier this way. KYOGRE used water pulse

Rhaenyra missed the first few rounds of the last tower of worms challenge. She had only just joined the game at the time. And after the last one was complete, she was rewarded with a rare DNA sample of a worm she actually liked. It was unfortunate that she only was rewarded one sample, leaving her to find or collect four more in order to get the legendary herself. But as she moved through the notifications that bombarded her menus when she first logged in, the hybrid was surprised that yet another tower of worms have been started. Quickly, she joined.
Pale golden orbs took in the ancestral tree, marveling at its sheer size and beauty. That was, until a swarm of hangry pidgey began fly about and attempt to pluck her. She cursed under her breath, reaching into her pockets to pluck a sphere while flailing an arm about to keep them at bay. “Get them off of me,” the woman called out ti who ever she summoned, “Quick!”
The glaceon titled his head, cold eyes on the trainer as she seemed to be struggling with the swarm of avians. And at first, he just watched in amusement. Watching his trainer throw her arms about, much like one of those wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubemans. His moment of amusement came to an end only a minute or two later, a few of the birds turning their attention to the ice type and attempting to pluck him too. Fenrir snarled, body became surround in white streaks of aura. And without warning, the glaceon began to charge into any pidgey he could reach with his DOUBLE-EDGE.

The first step to getting better at a game is to actually play it, right? In exploring all of the features available in UNOVR, he picked up word of the Tree of Worms, and made a beeline (wormline?) to check it out. He loved the idea of being able to pick up a few new wormy friends, even if most people might find them to be a little gross. Oh, and there was also getting Pox stronger.
"Alright, lets go, Pox! Use BRANCH POKE!"
With a happy little cry, the grookey pulls the twig from it's hair and leaps towards the pidgey to give it a good ol' smack in the head. It' s enough to make the bird pokemon flutter away, and startle a few more nearby. Satisfied with his attack, the chimp pokemon turns to it's trainer and gives a triumphant wave of his twig.
One down, several dozen more to go.

He had been unable to participate in the worms last time, but all that really mattered with towers (that he learned from the cats) was that there was free Pokemon for participating, and he certainly needed more Pokemon for trades or really just building up his team. Still feeling bothered that Yucca wasn't a bug type, it made sense that he should secure one (worms were bugs, weren't they? Wait, they weren't insects. What were they? Google says they're annelids, whatever those were). Anyway, he was also mindful now of the pop ups that came with the tower challenge. He couldn't just walk in here and gain the prize without fulfilling the requirement, and this time around, well...
What the hell was an "increased-priority move"?
Google again to the rescue: apparently in traditional Pokemon battles, these were moves that ignored the regular turn order via the speed stat. Okay, those things were not exactly relevant to UNOVR, right? Maybe he should ask Odile through messages or something. Ugh, wait, he couldn't just be relying on her all the time. Scrolling through the list of moves online, he did spot a few that he recognized from memorizing the moves his Pokemon currently could use. And one of them was...
Wait, there were birds here, not worms. Or was it because birds eat worms? Ah, fuck this! ❝Ballista, clear the way with Quick Attack!❞ he opened the Poke Ball to let out fire rat, who immediately started to zoom through the birds, knocking them away. It was even faster than their normal speed - was this what increased-priority meant? He couldn't help but watch in awe. Next Prompt #9: [Tower]dlt_zX6Q1d501d50

Silvermoon peered curiously around at the worm tree. It... looked the same as they remembered, with pidgey scurrying around. They smiled at Tuesday, and gave a little wave- though... hopefully the man next to her was alright? He looked soaked, for some reason. Um, anyway.
Another pidgey swooped down, and Silvermoon watched it closely. They reached for their pokeballs, tossing out one she hadn't used in a while- Pineco, from their first foray into the tower, manifested, eyes blinking slowly at the bird. "Get ready!" Silvermoon called, as the pidgey swooped down at him-
The pineco shimmering, a thick barrier manifesting just in time for the pidgey to slam into it, head first. The pidgey let out a hoarse croak, and collapsed to the ground.

Tower of Worms Floor 2: Le Worm The next 10 Pidgey are French. They wield baguettes and wear berets, and will squawk rude, Euro-centric insults at you. Any use of English will send them into a fit of rage.
You have defeated 10 Pidgey and unlocked Snom (U)! The next reward will be unlocked at 20 Pidgey.

M'Foxy though the tree was quite lovely, actually. It was like being back at home, only with about a million more birds everywhere.
She was sat at a little outdoor table, with a little cappuccino. The venipede- she needed to name the thing, huh?- was curled up under the table, eyes closed. There was, naturally, a pidgey on the other side of the table, watching her closely. Waiting for a sign of weakness.
Of American.
"[tangent=It's difficult to know,]C'est difficile de savoir,[/tangent]" M'Foxy sighed, sipping at her drink. The bird seemed to tense. "[tangent=A baguette(masculine)? A baguette (feminine)?]Un baguette? Une baguette?[/tangent]"
At that, the bird screamed. Its talons tightened on the bread in claw. Any proper Parisian would know the gender of a baguette. They reared, and lunged.
"[tangent=Here's a trick-]Voici une astuce-[/tangent]" M'Foxy did not show fear- Staring the bird down as it slammed into the force field she naturally had by being French. Or, thanks to the venipede, but it was probably the former. "[tangent=I simply say- Two baguettes!]Je dis simplement- Deux baguettes![/tangent]"

In no time at all, they were victories. And as the next stage was set, another round of pidgeys came out ready to start a fight. Strangely enough, these weren’t just normal avians. On their head, berets. And in their talons, baguettes. They squawked angrily, ready to fight. Rhaenyra rolled her eyes, this game was something else. She kinda liked it.
Reaching one and summoning out another, the icy feline casted both his trainer and the avians a dark icy glare. “Please take them out.” As she spoke, the flock of birds screeched into the heavens. It started her, eyes widen as several of the bird came at her furious. “Fenrir!” The glaceon hissed, reminding the last time he had to deal with this pesky birds. He leaped into the air, ready to slam into them with all his might.

Genesis remembered this section of the Tower of Worms from the first time they'd helped to summit it. Back then, they had tried to use the bits and pieces of French they remembered from school to help ingratiate them with their Pidgey opponents. Now, they weren't going to bother putting in that kind of effort. It hadn't paid off the first time around either, and they had just felt awkward realizing how rusty their French skills really were after a few years of disuse.
At least they didn't have to think too hard about what Pokemon or move to use for this prompt. HP-draining move? Well, they had the original...
"Amity?"
The Zubat still wasn't flying quite right after that experiment with Bunya. Apparently it had taken away the Pokemon's Flying-type... though she could still fly through the air, just not as effortlessly as the Zubat had flown before. Fascinating. And this prompt was a perfect excuse to test the transformed Zubat's capabilities...
"Use Absorb."
Normally, it would be a weak attack, but here in the Tower, it was enough to fell a Pidgey in a single hit. Though that had nothing to do with Amity's changed typing, really. They would have to do more research into that...

Oh these things were French now? The one thing worst than worms, French screeching birds. Odile had a... cursory knowledge of French. If you can call knowing ballet terms as knowing French, which she was for these purposes. But there was one French term that she knew that fit this whole mess.
"Sacré bleu!"
Swapping out Mercurio, her Mareep Giselle took the scene. "Wait, French? What the..." Unacceptable. Sparks flew from the sheep as she used Thunder Shock, zapping one Pidgey that got a bit too close, a bit too French for the lamb's liking. "Okay who's next?!" Prompt 14: [Tower]_OC_qSdz1d50 1d50
