The birds were French now, huh? How did that even, like, work? Did they even have France in here?
Whatever. It didn't really matter. It was the same old story: birds were angry, they had to do prompts to take 'em down, simple as that.
Jinx still didn't have a good handle on which Pokemon where from which region in here, or what all the regions even were for that matter, but luckily it was easy enough to look that up and find that she had not one, but two Pokemon that qualified.
On the one hand, she could use to try out her fancy new Pineco on the battlefield. On the other hand...
"Booger?"
Jinx never would tire of saying that Slugma's name.
"Use... uh..." It didn't matter for the purposes of this prompt, of course, so Jinx figured it was a good opportunity to check out a move she hadn't had the opportunity to use before, see what it looked like. "Clear Smog, how about that?"
The resulting cloud of smog smelled... weird. Not bad, per se, not like that Koffing she had that always kind of reeked, but it was definitely a distinctive scent that was left lingering in the air afterwards. A little like hand sanitizer, Jinx thought, maybe mixed with the sting of sea salt.
Jinx wasn't sure she'd be using that move again any time soon...

Birds who spoke French- Verai wasn't sure what the intent was, from the people who had opted for such a challenge, but... At least he didn't have to worry about enraging them with English. He shook his head, and mutely tossed out Kitty's pokeball, the skitty shaking herself out earnestly before looking around. <Oh- Some friends! Hi friends!> She called, sing-songy, bounding after the nearby pidgey.
She finally stopped, looking at the downed pokemon, then back up at Verai. <I- I thought we were playing...> She squeaked.

❝YES!❞
<Another one?>
❝We need all the help we can get right now!❞ Comet said as he pushed his Cinderace into another Tower, hopefully without any traps and whatnot. He had been watching the UI like a hawk for a prompt that he could do, and it just so happened that the new one was the same one he did with the other Tower, so, well, that was perfect! This one was called the Tower of Worms, but much like the other Tower, they were fighting the enemies of worms instead. In this case, it happened to be birds. Pidgey, to be specific. Also, for some reason they were speaking French, according to the notification pop up.
❝Do you understand French, Kimchi?❞
<I don't even know what that is...>
❝Oh, no matter, take 'em down with a good ol' Headbutt!❞
The Cinderace lightly shook his head, not exactly getting his trainer's motivations, but obliged nonetheless, running and jumping up to terrified birds before head-slamming them to submission.

<'Ouf! Ouf! Ouf! Ouf! Ouf!'>
The first thing Muin hears when returning to the Tree of Worms is the chant of the Pidgey, angrily pointing at the Pokémon of nearby trainers with the tips of their wings. They're obviously annoyed that they're being attacked, and such annoyance expresses itself in colourful usage of the European French vernacular (not just France French, mind you, for Muin is almost certain he hears some Belgian French or Swiss French in there too... quite inclusive of UNOVR).
Now, all that is well and good. Sure, the Pidgey are rude, but it's not the worst he's heard compared to certain French swearing expressions, but—
<'Ouf! Ouf! Ouf! Ouf! Ouf! Ouf! Ouf!'>
That one... That one gets to him.
"...French in itself is a perfectly adequate language when adhering to its proper grammatical structure, but there's no argot more annoying than a verlan."
The remaining Pidgey turn to face him the second he speaks a single word in his oh so proper and well-practiced Received Pronunciation English.
<'Hey! Hey! Muin! What are they saying? What's an argot? What the hell is a verlan? They look angry...'> The Rowlet perched on his shoulder asks, but Muin himself does no more than quirk a brow and stare down at the birds with cold and unyielding amethyst eyes. The Pidgey continue their squawking, taking flight.
"Nin."
<'Yes!'>
Birds swoop down, talons at the ready.
"Z Move. Black Hole Eclipse."
<'Ohohohoho.'>
The Rowlet takes flight as well, and within seconds, the tree turns to darkness. It's unclear what happens next, but there's a lot of French whining and screaming, and by the time the lights return, there's less birds present.
"Maintenant, vous savez: surveiller votre langage."
Here's a curious and not-so-interesting little bit of Muin trivia: Percy's paternal grandmother is from the beautiful city of Nîmes, and of course, such being the case, she has ensured that all of her children and grandchildren know at least some French. However, Grandma Munn has little tolerance for improper grammar and slang, and these are some of the views Percy learned from his dear grand-maman.

Let's try to other tower, they said. It'll be fun, they said. The swarms of surprisingly French pidgeys that flocked around Taro and Miss Telto weren't exactly fun. Taro flailed their arms around, hoping to at least get the bird pokémon out of their personal space, which.... sadly wasn't all that effective.
"Miss Telto-" The masked trainer was about to command his lovely little sprigatito to do something, but the French-accented squawking of the pidgey swarm suddenly increased to a much louder volume and sounded much angrier (and we all know that angry French is the worst kind of French). He raised his hands to cover his ears. Today is the day he finally regretted not paying attention to French classes in school. "Quick Attack!?" Taro shouted at his pokémon in hopes she'd understand, but the grayish green feline seemed a little confused. <What was that? I couldn't quite hear what you said.> She answered while looking at the flocks of angry baguette birds.
Taro sighed deeply behind their mask before pointing at Telto, then at one of the pidgey, and then tried to explain she should use Quick Attack in a way that looked somewhat like an even more awkward version of acting charades. It took the sprigatito longer than Taro would've liked to understand what she was supposed to do. <Oooohhhh, you want me to Quick Attack these silly birds? Why didn't you just say so?> Taro could practically smell the sarcasm on his pokémon's remark, but at least she now knew what to do, and did it quite well. Despite another one of the birds being knocked out now, the extremely loud French pidgey noises continued, and Taro simply called Telto back into his pokémon-inventory before running towards what he assumed would be the (currently still locked) door to the next floor.

Kallisto was, unfortunately, not savvy enough with languages to even figure out what language the brown birds were using. How were they even speaking so fast? Why were they so angry? Was it because they were knocking out the other birds? Well, that made sense. Some things transcend different languages. The other players had already cleared a good chunk of the enemies, but there were still a couple more left that had looks that could kill.
He was still pretty unfamiliar with typing, but again, the system was kind that it actually pointed him to any Pokemon that could satisfy the condition. In this case, it was Aegis and his Metal Claw - a move that he recalled his partner learned when he evolved. ❝Aegis!❞ he threw the Poke Ball and let out the penguin, who was larger than his previous form.
<Woohoo! Time to take down some baddies!>
❝Err, I'm not sure that we're--❞
<Wait, are you saying...are we the baddies?> the penguin had the most shocked expression before getting pecked by a bird. <Hey!! That wasn't nice! You are baddies!>
Kallisto wondered if this childish attitude was going to continue even after he evolved again. ❝Right, uh, Aegis, use Metal Claw!❞

Tower of Worms Floor 3: Do the Worm The next 10 Pidgey have set up a dance party in the branches! There are disco balls made from reclaimed shiny things, funky hip-hop beats, and a serious lack of parental supervision. You're going to have to bust out your sickest dance moves if you want to make it to the next floor with your street-cred intact.
You have defeated 20 Pidgey and unlocked Blipbug (U)! The next reward will be unlocked at 30 Pidgey.

Silvery gray triangular shaped ears flickered to the sounds of the rhythmic base beat, a puzzled yet curious look upon her facial features. But as she stepped onto the next floor, pale golden orbs widen in shock. Reflective pieced together sphere to shimmered in the light, the music pounded against her ear drums, and pidgey flew and danced about as if they were unsupervised children at a rave. It was a sight to see to say the least. Yet as she fully entered the room, all eyes were on her expecting her to bust a move. “Hell no.” No one wanted to see her dance.
Swiftly reaching into her pocket, the woman plucked a sphere and released her pokemon. Angry cries rang out from all around her, panic briefly filled Rhaenyra as she ordered her pokemon to attack. “Quick Ziryan! Use Iron head!” The partying pidgey came in hot, diving at the player for her lack of dance moves. But as the pidgey came in, the type null was swift to intervene. He let out a might roar, the large axe like piece on top of his helmet took on a metallic shine. Snorting, Ziryan charged forward aiming to IRON HEAD any and all pidgey that darted to attack his trainer.

Frankly, Kallisto had not been doing a good job paying attention to his Pokemon Boxes, so it just kind of shocked him one day after his break that he was running out. He had to make room for more, but he hadn't quite decided yet on what to do with his current Pokemon. He wanted to trade some of them (the Magikarps for sure), but he wasn't sure for what...and maybe he could trade some of his others while he was at it? That Nosepass continued to freak him out, but according to his research, it was technically meant to be a compass, so it might come useful while exploring, maybe...
Anyway, obviously the correct thing to do was participate in another tower to get another Pokemon, because he just upgraded his boxes. Haha.
Today's scene was a bunch of dancing birds. He wasn't really a confident dancer, and he wasn't sure which of his Pokemon could dance. Lucky for him, the prompt did not ask him to dance, but to miss. Street credit be damned! He followed Wolf 's lead and decided that he was going to carve his own path, by missing! ❝Nock, come on out!❞
The little lion popped out of her Pokeball and was immediately scared by the loud noise and music. <Wah!! I don't like this place..!>
❝Oh shit sorry, uh, Nock, use your Thunder Shock quickly and I'll bring you back in!❞
Very much in distress, the little lion sent out a flurry of tiny lightning bolts, which missed the birds since they were boogie-ing around it. Uh, he was pretty sure that was it! ❝Good job, Nock! Sorry!❞ he returned her in the Pokeball, guilt washing all over him amidst rocking music.

A disco party? Okay, that was new, but also... really sick, had to say. Sure, Claudia was a ballerina first and foremost, but that did not mean she could not bust a move on a normal dance floor. Could this be considered a normal dance floor with the French birds? Maybe not, but was that ever going to stop her?
No. Course not. Gotta get that Starlet class somehow (really, couldn't be a dancer in real life and not get the dancer class in game too, what was she? An amateur?)
She tossed up a Pokeball to the beat, once, twice, and up it went. Down came Giselle, the Flaaffy shook her wooly mane, looking around at the... oh this was a sight alright. Not sure if she liked it, but looking back to a grinning Odile, at least someone liked it. This though? This? Unsure. Could not tell if she liked it or not.
"Giselle, give them a bit of a shock!"
Now fighting? Fighting Giselle liked. The jewel on her tail gleamed, swaying to the beat not unlike her trainer, as a blast of electricity flew out, striking a Pidgey down. "Nice, nice! You even did it to the beat! Think you're a bit of a natural Giselle."

"Come on wormie egg, we're gonna make our way to see the big worm!" Rose spoke softly, giggling to herself as she held the Zygarde Egg in her hands. She cradled it gently, as if it was going to get stolen from her hands like all the shiny things around them! Perhaps exposure to the Tree of Worms might help it hatch?
After all, the cool little shapes were shifting all around in a brilliant lime-green. That certainly seemed shiny to her.
"Uh, other worm friend?" She looked over at her Orthworm, who was seemingly content to just exist, slithering around her, using their weird orb arms to Mud Slap any Pidgey that got too close.
"Aye aye, you lil' Sweetheart you. I'll escort you down to the big worm. Been meanin' to meet the big guy myself. He seems finer than frogs' hair split four ways."

A little birdy told him that there was someone looking to trade a psychic type Pokemon for any other Pokemon, and that was exactly what Jinyu needed, someone to help carry his Magikarp or hold them up while they were away from the water! (Well, he wasn't really sure about the logistics, just that having a psychic type sounded handy). He hadn't really been looking at the tower challenges since they weren't exactly a Tower of Fish, but yeah. Dud Pokemon. And worms were great for bait.
When he managed to get to the current floor, it turned out that they were having a disco party! Andy wasn't a professional dance, but he could secondhand embarrass someone with some sick moves! The music was blasting from all directions, creating a powerful down beat. He pulled out his Pokeball to bring out Herr Forehead, who was already thinking he could test out his cannon against other Pokemon. ❝Sorry, bud! Looks like Flash Cannon's off the menu for this prompt. Use Tackle on this Pidgey instead!❞
The Magikarp's disappointment was immeasurable and his day was ruined, but the Sweeper class had given him a bit more spunk. Splashing a bit on the floor to the rhythm of the music, he then used force to push momentum, sending him straight for a disco-ing bird. Prompt #25: [Tower]b9w9oV7V1d50 1d50

<'Uuuuh... Sho loud...'>
A sleepy white Vulpix yawns when coming out of a Pokéball, soft paws dipped in ice blue stretching forward as if he had just woken from a long nap. Tuesday wouldn't be surprised if he actually had.
"They won't be nearly as loud if you deal with them." She suggest, a brow raised as she looks up at the branches. Naturally, it's not really a suggestion at all, but Tuesday is sure that after being her Pokémon for so long, Dante understands that there's actually a command in her words.

Goddamn, why hadn’t he thought this sooner? Kazuki had spent all this time trying to figure out how to appease a worm when he could’ve just gone back to the tower and—well, asked one. Or maybe the egg could get a kick out of seeing its extended family.
“Snake, get these out of the way.” Kazuki snapped his fingers, pointing at the birdy dance parties. The Zygarde egg was tucked under his arm, ice cold to the fire moves on display. He wouldn’t be able to find any prospective worms to interview or observe for parenting tips until he got through.
Steelix blinked, staring between his trainer and the fierce display of feathered fandango. Lacking the proper appendages for that arm movements, he settled with hopping and wiggling viciously.
It didn’t quite convey his passion, but it did flatten the herd.

Comet--aka Vernon--was rushing, because even if he were a teenage idol, it apparently didn't mean that he had no homework at all. He ran into the tower in a bit of a panic and also in a sour mood, because he sure would've liked to take some time to kick back and relax, but real life got in the way! (He knew it to be a temporary annoyance, but it was still an annoyance, nonetheless). The next floor he was in didn't have foreign Pidgeys, but this time it was a rave party. Shit! If only he could've stuck around for a while in this one, but he really had to go. He swore that he could already hear a knocking on the door outside of the WorldScreen, because he really was just taking an illegal break.
Scrolling through his Pokemon, he thought to bring Yuzu out since she was a Normal--well, with Estival Eye--a Fire/Fighting type. But when he checked through her moveset, it turned out that she didn't know any fighting type moves, so she couldn't fulfill the prompt. Cursing again (as teenagers did), he quickly skimmed through the rest of his party to find that Kimchi was one again there to save the day. Pumping his fist up in the air, he threw the PokeBall, letting out a ready-to-fight Cinderace with a fiery cloak of spiritual flame.
<Oh, is this the tower again? Are we looking for another teammate?>
❝Uh, no, actually I'm in a bit of a rush can you use Double Kick on those Pidgey pretty please?❞
Kimchi glanced at the headbanging Pidgeys. <Feels like a shame to kick them while they're partying.>
❝I know I know but if I don't do an event today then I'm gonna miss out on some real good bonuses! And I'm not supposed to be here!❞
<You're not? But-->
❝I'll explain when I get a chance to come back!❞ he swore he could really hear the knocking now, and his Pokemon couldn't figure out why he was frantically looking around at a disco rave. ❝Kick 'em where it hurts!❞
Kimchi let out a sigh and decided that it was something beyond his understanding, so letting the beat take him, he bounced around to the rhythm before landing a solid footprint on one of the bird's faces. Before the bird beside it could have a chance to react and fly away, a second foot met its mark, sending it flying off the branch. <Heh, I can do this all day. But I guess you don't have all day?>
Sure enough, when turned around to check on his trainer, the last thing he saw was a thumbs up and a big grin before getting pulled back into the PokeBall. Oh, darkness, his old friend. His trainer certainly owed an explanation.
