So this was that and here he was.
A refresher: Hope dictated that there must be some way to remove the parasite on him. Logic dictated that if the online boards were not yielding much results (as it seemed that the result was quite rare to begin with), then perhaps this new feature that he unlocked recently would be able to clue him in. Specifically, he had hoped to ask a certain someone that he spotted on the guild members' list; a name he recognized from a brief encounter in an endless downpour.
He looked much different then compared to now, and he wouldn't be surprised if he had been forgotten. It wasn't like he needed to be remembered, anyway, he only needed to ask for something. Just a question, a beginning that could at least point him to a direction rather than wandering aimlessly, for after his last encounter with Mistra and the biter, he didn't want to risk his neck a third time too soon.
So gingerly, hesitantly, he pressed the name on the UI. He composed a formal message to boot, just in case.
Hello, I recently joined the guild, and I wanted to ask a question about an event ongoing in the game. I have the Parasite class on me, and I have no idea where to start looking for information on how to cure it. I was wondering if I could ask for any advice? If the information is not free, I am willing to do a favor for you. I hope this is fine to ask as a new player. Thank you. Was that too formal? He channeled his email etiquette, thinking that he was writing to a boss asking for vacation. He grumbled but decided to send it anyway; the worst the recipient could do was to ignore it or say no.

She had heard the rumours. Whispers in the T.E.A. Shop, cryptic comments in the Mistra thread in r/UNOVR, online mentions of a mysterious new subclass. People had been claiming that they had unlocked and unwillingly equipped this new class after going into Mistra â a Parasite. It sounds like fucked up shit to Tuesday, but then again, everything about Mistra does, and she knows she's fucking right. She wants nothing to do with all of that, especially after she had lost Chariot in that place because of attempting to help a worthless man. Yet word of Mistra still seems to follow her wherever she goes. This time, via a message from a guildmate with a name she has seen before. @kallisto. One of the church's visitors, no? "Hm..." They say curiosity killed the cat, but really, it's not that. What she zeroes in when reading the message isn't exactly Kallisto's claim of having the Parasite subclass, it's what he offers in return for whatever information she may have. A favour. After all, why share the information she has for free, right? To be a good player? Support the community? Hell no. Mistra has pissed her off too much to do anything related to it out of the goodness of her heart (which some would argue she doesn't even have). That's why she gives Kallisto a simple reply: Always fine to ask! I may know a thing or 2 or 3 about it, but you're right: my info isn't free. Come to the guild's lighthouse and we can discuss this favor of yours. I'll be waiting đ And so, she waits, sat on one of the sofas that are meant for when the members of the Creed meet and hangout at their base. Of course, she does not allow anyone to sit with her, right leg crossed over her left while the engraved steel of her greaves shines beautifully in the light of candles. She's clad in armour and white feathered cloak, and in her face there isn't even a single sign of discomfort when Kallisto crosses the threshold. "So, Mistra gave you a little gift, hm?" It's with these words that she greets him, the smirk at her lips slight yet sharp as ever.

It wasn't much, but Kallisto also ensured to temper his expectations. The fact that she replied at all was already a good start, and she was also very keen on the favor. Interesting, so it looked like his newbie status didn't matter all that much, so long as he was a "player"...
After confirming he would be there, it was just a matter of actually getting to the guild lighthouse. It was the first time he actually got here as he didn't frequent this area, but it certainly stood out in the dense fog. He could imagine players that weren't even a part of a guild flock here for safety, but he knew that this place was mainly for those who sought out strength. Yes, Kallisto needed that in order to continue playing this game, and he did want to continue. He wanted to stand without fear, not feel helpless in adversity.
Inside, he was directed to one of the rooms in the lighthouse, and even the outside was stony and old, the inside was surprisingly well-kept. It would be his first time actually talking to her one on one, and since all of her attention was on him, it felt plenty more imposing. He must not get intimidated. He was the one who reached out, after all.
âYou can check my profile if you want to confirm, but yes.â he knew full well he was to sit across her, on another sofa separated by a coffee table. He knew where he stood on the pecking order. Out of curiosity, he checked her profile now that she was right in front of him, and she had plenty of classes equipped, but none of them were the same as his. It only further solidified how much work she had put into her character, and that they were leagues apart. âMind, I am not looking for information about the parasite, but how to cure it. Though if I must learn of its origins to undo its hold, I suppose that's how it's going to be.â
He took a seat, finding the couch soft. âSo what do you want me to do?â

The irony of it all is that while he's here to get answers from her, she's the one who learns when listening to his words. Why doesn't he just unequip the class? Tuesday wonders when giving his profile a quick look, wondering exactly what @kallisto means by wanting to 'cure' the Parasite. Is it that he can't just unequip it or...
She doesn't ask any of the questions that come to mind. She doesn't even look as if she has any questions for him. Instead, she stares at him with those intense golden eyes of hers, sitting on the sofa as if it were her throne, and when he's done speaking, she simply nods once, lacing her gloved fingers together before speaking once more.
It's then Tuesday asks a question in response, but it's none of the ones she had thought of before:
"Have you ever been to the Everworld?" She continues before he can even give his answer, her gaze still fixed solely on him but her head tilting slightly. The tail akin to that oof an Angora cat sways lightly. "The last time I went to Mistra one of my PokĂŠmon ended up there, do you think you can bring her back?"
She could do it herself, yes, but there are also dozens of reasons why Tuesday tends to avoid that place.
"If you help me, I'll help you."
It's not a promise of answers or a clear solution, it's a promise of Tuesday's aid, but what really is the worth of such a promise?

Her reply wasn't a question that he had expected.
He considered his words carefully, âBeen? No.â it wasn't exactly a place that he wanted to go to, especially since it appeared to have similar qualities to the corruption zone (or so his late night readings on r/UNOVR had detailed). At the same time, even if Mistra was supposed to be a feature like the rest of the world (along with the parasite, for some goddamn reason), it appeared that the Everworld was less hostile. Wait a minute--
âYou've also been to Mistra? What happened? Why...â he was about to ask about her Pokemon, but he decided against it. The question was implied though; it wasn't like he was being subtle. Still, he honestly was curious to hear what Tuesday experienced, because frankly all of the accounts that he was able to scour so far were rather conflicting. There were some patterns, however. Something about the deep dive really having the capacity to reach into memories that he didn't exactly consent to surrendering.
A chill crawls on his virtual skin. He still found difficulty figuring out whether it was the parasite wisping around or if it was something more instinctive. If you help me, I'll help you. He had no reason to distrust her. Maybe something else was unnerving him.
âWhich Pokemon? I'm not exactly knowledgeable. A name should do, right? Maybe the species?â Kallisto eyed her, though sometimes he would get distracted by the tail, swishing around, reminding him of a friend's pet cat. Was he going to regret this? Possibly, but he had hoped that even if this favor didn't work out, it would at least put him on her map. Maybe something that he could pull in the future, if she were to be generous.

How had her PokĂŠmon ended up in the Everworld? What had happened to Tuesday when she stepped into Mistra? 'See, I told my dumbass ex not to go into Mistra 'cause it's so fucked up, but since he's a dumbass, he did it anyway and I had to go save him, you know? Typical! Dumbass! And, obviously, since Mistra is SO fucked up, it just had to hit half of my childhood trauma triggers and make me end up fighting a copy of my ex's brother that got possessed by the spirit of my abusive and murderous grandpa. Oh, and my PokĂŠmon? Yeah, she died trying to save me from all that. So, really, it's all my ex's fault.'
She can't just say that, can she? No, of course she can't. So, she just stares at @kallisto instead, her golden gaze being both cold and unwavering. "Mistra killed my PokĂŠmon."
It's not the first time it happened either.
A bitter taste fills Tuesday's mouth, her sour mood souring even more at the memory of the loss of her Cryogonal. Ancile is back with her now, but... She'll make Mistra pay for what it had done to them. Everything it had put her through. Everything it had put her friends through. Hell, even everything it had put her PokĂŠmon through. Tuesday is at war against the Corruption Zone.
"She's a Whirlipede, her name is Chariot. I'll have to banish her soul for you to go claim her, but..." She pauses, staring at Kallisto as if searching for something. As if judging his worth; attempting to decide if he'll be able to pull this off. "Seta doesn't let just anyone take a trial, you have to give him a good reason. And, if you do end up taking the trial, be warned... things might get really intense for you in there."
All too well does she remember her own trials.
Is that why she's leaving it in the hands of another this time?

Mistra killed her Pokemon
A moment of de ja vu, like a lightning bolt as if he had thought to respond to these words before, but the words didn't come out. Not yet. He wondered if the parasite was once again messing with him. Here? Right now? No, he didn't feel its presence; he damn hoped it wouldn't show up here. Not while he was trying to secure information to beat it out of his system.
But back to the matter at hand. The words caught his attention because it disturbed him; a clear consequence of what could have been if things panned out a little differently, or the parasite decided to target Aegis instead. He could've lost him. He could have and he wasn't sure if he could forgive himself if he did. He would've gone to the Everworld immediately if that were the case, and it looked like this Pokemon meant a lot to Tuesday as well. Was the Everworld so terrible to make her recoil back from it? He made a mental note about the species name of the Pokemon and repeated it in his head a couple of times. Whirlipede, probably a centipede but it rolls, or something.
âA good reason...â he repeated the words softly, thinking before speaking again, âWell, if I put up a plea to save him out of good will, Seta wouldn't know the difference, right?â a little white lie wouldn't kill anyone, but he took the warning to heart. âI'll be careful. I'll try to do some more research onto the Everworld, since it looks like that's more well-known than the Parasite, and then give it a try. What's the worst that could happen?â
