Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

The river curved around the trainer and her pokemon, who had set up a temporary gazebo. Kath had bought the kit at whatever the pokemon equivalent of IKEA is. Grookey poked at the dead Magikarp that was roasting on the firespit. The lil monkey pokemon licked his lips, salivating on the thought of digging his teeth into the freshly cooked meat. "Just a little bit a spice, baby!" Grookey grinned, and sprinkled some paprika on the corpse. ~~GROOKEY USED SEASON!~~ Smells good," said Kath. She uncorked a bottle of sauce and drizzled the BBQ flavouring over the searing water type. KATH USED MARINADE! IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE! Grookey took a deep, primal sniff. "Ooohhh yeahhhhhhh," he said. "That's the stuff right there." "Love it," Kath said. "Love it." "This is gonna be so good." "Incredible. I can die after I eat this." "I'm dead now, and I've gone to heaven." They kept going, and going, and going. Their appetites grew along with their sentences. When the fish was finally cooked, it smelled as delicious a meal as either of them had ever eaten, purely because they were outside, stuck in the rain, with nothing better to smell. Finally, they ate, and neither of them said a word.
