Aegis was the one who spotted Odile first from the wings of Big Bird, pointing and gesturing frantically so that he could land nearby. Everyone seemed to be fighting their own battles even if they were up against one giant legendary, absorbed in their own calculations and fears and sentiments as they either continued to damage the boss or stop attacking altogether. He heard Tuesday's announcement right after he landed - it appeared that she was one of the people who were summoned to the Dream World as well. He couldn't exactly understand what she was saying though (in meaning, for she was talking about her own Pokemon, right? He had no idea what that Pokemon was). In any case, he made his way to the person that messaged him, and it took a lingering glance to notice that her outfit was not only completely impractical for where they were, but it was also different than what she was wearing a while ago.
So she too was also invited to the Dream World. That made sense, and the outfit also seemed to compliment of her actual profession (or passion? He never exactly clarified).
❝You said that you'll come running, but from your message it sounded like you were the one that needed help.❞ he decided not to comment on the outfit unless she did with his, for this really wasn't the time to compliment it, not in the middle of a thunderstorm. ❝How are you and your team holding up? I don't know how much longer this battle's going to last, but I don't expect Big Bird will be able to stay up here for long.❞
A pause. ❝You're a Pokemon expert, right? Are the birds here really siblings, and is there anything in the original games that would help us with what's going on here? All I know is that the corruption is the crux of the conflict, and I still have a goddamn parasite I want off me.❞
Frankly, if he were guessing, Odile looked shaken by what they have gotten themselves into, and for someone as empathetic as her, he could only imagine the whirlwind of emotions she felt as this raid continued. She wanted to ask for his thoughts, right? In all honesty, he needed to know more before he was confident in making a decision, and knowing meant that he would really prefer if all parties involved were still well and alive by the time all of this was over.

A gasp escaped her, head spinning to have violet eyes land on the... very snazzily dressed man before her. Now didn't he look stylish. A bit more like she first saw him. Though... rather impartial for the storm they were in. Had he gone into the Dream World too? Odile had been enraptured by their sudden trip there, by the King and Queen, that she hardly noticed the others floating beside her. So much was happening.
Kallisto's presence was the most welcome one here.
"Maybe a little." Odile admitted sheepishly, a hand coming to the back of her head, fingers squeezing fiery locks. Thank goodness for Swimmer. Imagine how drenched she would be without it. "We're mostly fine. Mercurio had to be pulled back, he took a lot of damage in the first round, but we're hanging on. And yourself? Aegis looks well." A nod was given to the Prinplup. Evolved huh? Already? Maybe that shouldn't be too much of a surprise, considering Mercurio had also evolved.
It felt odd. To be catching up in a situation like this. Like the world wasn't breaking down all around them.
—Pokemon expert? Her? What did she look like? "Oh you're giving me too much credit here. Uh, so like, I guess you never played any of the Kanto games huh? They're never referred to as siblings, but they are part of the same trio. Kinda started the whole thing about them. There's usually some group of three Legendary Pokemon to a region, sometimes more but it's usually that. Uh... Lugia is like, the leader of them? But I've never seen any reference to them here, and Lugia's usually in the ocean because they're like, considered the guardian of it so..."
Okay maybe she was a bit of a expert. Just played the games a lot when there hadn't been anything better to do. It was either that or Animal Crossing. None of that information seemed particularly useful. A shudder ran down her shoulders to her spine, swallowing. "Kallisto, I just... I can't bring myself to hurt him. It doesn't feel right. Look at what we're doing. I don't think Zapdos is lying that he'll die if this happens. Who are we to make him do this?"
Yes she had passed along the message from Articuno, but she felt she should have because... well, they were brothers. When was the last time they had even spoken? They were family, and she might as well. She wasn't even trying to convince him much. Odile just wanted him to think on all of this, and where it would lead them all.
She just hoped it wasn't to his grave.
"I know Ash can't speak to him so she doesn't know but... even still, is it right we kill him and his siblings off just to clear this up? I know the Corruption is bad, I know, but is it so bad I want to do this another way? Is it so bad I just want—"
Words slip faster and faster, until they slip off the slope, bottom lip wobbling as her hands move in front of her. Trying to find some sort of control in it all, where there was none to be found.

#s://cdn~discordapp~com/attachments/1114138222038106173/1129698069999525939/kallisto16~jpg He would've liked to keep the outfit if it weren't for the fact that he was being drenched in the torrential rain; he could feel its weight drag him, and a part of him wished that he had equipped whatever class Odile had on her, since she looked perfectly dry despite the storm. He tried his best to shake off some water from his hair by running his gloved hand through it, but that did nothing at all.
<I'm fine! Been hard at work protecting others!> Aegis piped up, though was sad that his frog buddy wasn't in great shape.
❝We've been mostly defending rather than attacking.❞ he clicked his tongue. ❝I wish I could be of more help. Everyone's really giving it their all.❞ but he knew that was a rather double-edged phrase. Giving it their all to what? To taking Zapdos down? To kill him? Or to convince him to drop the shrine, which would end up killing him anyway? He delivered the message, yes, but what was that going to do while his neck was being torn apart by fiery spirits? Was his action even contributing anything?
He would shake his head at Odile asking him if he played the Pokemon games. Hell, it had been too long since he touched one, so mostly everything was just from some vague memories or what he knew of other JRPGs. Some newer things were from research, but it was hard to keep all of the information in his head. He was still learning. She threw another Pokemon name into the mix, one that did not ring any bells at all, but it didn't seem like it was relevant to what was going on now.
Projectiles from Pokemon attacks would zoom past and above them, hitting Big Bird from all sides. In the midst of it all, here was one girl who said that she wouldn't do the same. ❝I don't think so either, but I also don't know what happens if we let him escape with the shrine now. All I know is that the shrine is needed to help beat back the corruption; maybe another step forward to clearing it once and for all.❞ but at a cost. That was the problem, wasn't it? It was not for free.
The rain strengthened, and along came winds. It almost made Kallisto lose his footing, but it did inevitably push him closer to her. Her hands trembled, and he thought how he was supposed to offer support, just like she did when he asked for her help. Hoping that this wasn't going to get him a slap across the face or something, he held her hands in his own. ❝Odile.❞ gold to purple, his mind was racing on what to say, ❝It isn't wrong to want. That's what got you here and keeps you standing, right?❞ that was how they hadn't fallen off. ❝But you know as well as I do that this isn't just you against Big Bird. Against the Professor and the corruption. And we also don't have a lot of time.❞
Thunder roared above them, and his voice could not compete with its power, so he had to wait for it to pass. ❝You asked what I thought about everything, right? I don't want Big Bird dead, but I want him to land; this fight won't go anywhere otherwise. If you think we can convince Ash, maybe we can stop the cannons from firing. Either way, I also don't know if she's expecting us to be able to get out on our own or will take us down with her.❞
❝Unless you have a better idea in mind? Do we just wait?❞

Pleasantly warm. Despite falling in altitude quite a lot, and there wasn't that horrible chill in the air anymore from earlier, it hadn't met that Odile was particularly warm and toasty either. The rain pelted down, and even as it slid off of her with ease, there was that ever-present briskness that didn't want to leave. His hands began to chase it away, and on instinct, Odile's hands tightened, squeezing Kallisto's.
"It's not, you're right, but...!" But what? What rebuttal could she offer him when she knew he was correct? The winds tried to interrupt her, cutting her off as it gave her a moment to think. Her voice went soft, shoulders falling from being so hiked up. "I just wished it was a bit easier. I don't... think we're getting all out of here happy."
Someone was going to lose something at the end of this. To Odile though, Ash's loss was the lesser of the two evils. She was a smart, smart woman with a bright future ahead of her, even if it wasn't in UNOVR. Which, well, she wasn't quite sure what would be done with her in game. Not a clue really. But... she'll be fine? She couldn't look at Zapdos, this mighty avian, and think about ripping away the shrine from him and effectively murdering him for it.
No, she didn't have a good option on what to do with the Corruption.
No, she didn't have a real way to help Kallisto with the Parasite infecting him.
But those can't come in time? What time did Zapdos have? Minutes if this kept up. He couldn't do this forever. They'll wear him down eventually. Then what?
"I... I don't know Kallisto. I don't. I don't I don't I don't..."
She does know his hands are warm though. It helped to ground her. "Just... I think if he lands, he dies, but what about us? I think we just white out, but Ash doesn't know that. I don't... have a good answer Kallisto, I'm sorry."
There was flame, the massive Charizard's blazing fire tickling the very back of her neck as it began to propel Zapdos down. To his demise. Another shudder ran through her body, sighing. "Either way, this won't go on forever. We're going down. It's not over yet but... it will be soon. I just hope we're doing the right thing." She swallowed something, whatever lump of steel in her throat. "... Never thought a Pokemon game would have me so... wound up like this before."
A weak bit of laughter, trying to lighten the heavying mood. A small smile, given to her friend here.

#s://cdn~discordapp~com/attachments/1114138222038106173/1129698069999525939/kallisto16~jpg The wind was strong, but they held on, maybe through some kind of video game logic, they were able to stay on, but maybe their feet were floating above the jagged feathers without realizing? The whole thing was bizarre from the beginning, but here they were, suspending their disbelief, fighting for what they believed in, or at least taking a side, taking a stand.
For a moment, he thought he should take his hands away, but Odile's hands were cold, and he noticed her grip tighten. His gaze softened at her plea, her desire to just...want a happier ending, but this wasn't that kind of game, unfortunately. From the very start of this event, Kallisto should've known that for the beings of this world, this had always been a battle of life or death. ❝I think even in normal circumstances, there was always going to be a loser.❞ and it was supposed to be Big Bird, before it turned out that he had a different ace up his sleeve, if one could call it that.
He didn't know why now of all times he saw the world as it actually was: a flurry of a million pixels put together. But did it matter? After all, most people would be moved by a film that spoke to one's heart and soul. Many have talked about how a certain piece of media changed their lives. Even if it wasn't real, its effects were certainly felt. Did it matter if it wasn't real? That it was something orchestrated by someone above it all? Were they even in control of all of these words spoken, or was there a sliver of something else happening?
Something alive?
Odile was alive, for certain. He should focus on her, first and foremost. He tried to comfort her, squeezing her hands in turn. ❝I hope so too. Perhaps if not Big Bird, maybe we were able to convince the Professor. If even one of them changes their mind, perhaps we still have a chance, that way out we're looking for.❞ he let out a small laugh in turn, finding the whole thing ridiculous if he took a step back, but they were in too deep now. They were not only people playing the game, but a part of it. This was a world that they had come to care for, after all. ❝Well, let's do our best for our Pokemon. I think we're close to the end.❞
