Since our Beta launch we've been hard at work adding, tweaking, and fixing. Patch 0.2 is all about quality of life improvements and getting the site running as smooth as Silcoon. You can check it out here!

December 18th
Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

He wanted to go fishing and no matter how much Lucy, Ryan, and even Dwayne nattered on he was going to go catch himself another one of those Magikarp. He heard that there were lots of different patterns and while he liked the one he already had, he wanted to see what his options were. Maybe he could find an even cooler looking one. Even if he wasn’t the biggest fan of the Coastline, it did seem like the proper place to fish. Plus there was less of a chance of something jumping out of a bush at him on his walk back. The newly evolved Ryan was recruited to keep an eye out for trouble, even if that really meant that Manish was using the large dozing toad as a backrest while he watched the waves and occasionally tugged on his fishing line.

His lacking muscles strained as he reeled the fish in and pulled back on the rod. He even woke up Ryan with all his wiggling around. The toad leaned in close to the water to watch the epic struggle between man and fish. There was a high pitched squeal coming from the line and Ryan wondered if that meant the line was going to break. Judging from the concentrated look on Manish’s face, he assumed he was right in his worry. The struggle went on as Manish wore down the Magikarp. Suddenly, the fish broke the surface and shot up onto the beach they were fishing from. Manish and Ryan both stared in awe at the beautiful pink fish flopping sadly on the ground for a moment before they remembered themselves. “Right! Okay, um, so like, not a lot has changed since you, uh, you know, got all evolved and stuff?” Manish asked, eyes not straying from the fish. <Bigger, stronger, still ready to show this fish who's boss> Ryan called back. “Okay, uh, so um, do Razor Leaf” Ryan braced his stubby legs on the sand and his pink flower bulb opened up, leaves around it moving around until many smaller leaves shot out at the Magikarp. RYAN uses RAZOR LEAF on the MAGIKARP

Ryan danced around, ready to dodge whatever attack the pink fish tried. However, after bracing for a moment Ryan cocked his head and looked at the fish. It was no longer flopping. In fact, it wasn’t doing much of anything anymore. “Uh…Did you kill it? Already?” Manish said, scratching at the mushrooms in his hair. Ryan crept forward and nudged the fish. <Huh. Well, told you I was stronger.> “Wow. Okay, um, huh. I was really not expecting uh, well, that to be over so fast.” Manish walked over and also crouched next to the fish. Yep, the thing was definitely not putting up any kind of fight anymore. <Are you gonna…> “Oh yeah! Um, okay, yeah I guess I’ll just, uh, yeah.” Manish took out a pokeball and touched it to the Magikarp, sucking the little pink fish into the ball.
