William had been taking it easy and slow as it came to the whole event; the older gentleman felt admittedly a little overwhelmed by the constant buzzing and onslaught of Pokemon. As such, he'd mostly wandered around the outskirts, barely participating in the festivities as he tried to watch how the other players handled the situation. Though he'd received reassurance from most players and characters when it came to admitting how insecure he felt in the game due to his age, it was hard to shake off the feeling when he watched the more skilled players handle the situation with ease.
"Stripes, could you use hyper voice please." He'd checked the UI several times to confirm the current prompt set by the challenge as well as all the moves his Pokemon knew. Hyper voice seemed to be the only special move the furret knew, but it should be more than enough for the occasion.
Stripes bounced forward, excited as it approached the nearest ball-shaped pokemon. The pair shared curious looks for a moment, the large furret tilting its head to the side before suddenly readying itself and letting out a high-pitched scream, the force of which sent the poor spheal rolling into the expecting canines on the other side of the park. Eddie stared down at the panting growlith, a goofy grin on his face as he squatted down. "Well hello there buddy." He purred, slipping from his character for a moment. Carver, perched on his shoulder was mildly less impressed, both as a grass type AND a cat he was naturally disinclined to be buddy buddy with the new baby that had taken the spotlight from him.
"HELLO!" The growlith barked, tongue drooping from his mouth. "ARE YOU MY NEW FRIEND?"
"Twould seem so," Eddie replied coolly, lavishing some loving earscritches over the fluffy friend. Back home he'd always wanted a dog, but his mother was allergic and they didn't have the space or time to take care of such a big responsibility when juggling both the restaurant and family obligations. He'd made do with digital similacrum in the past, Neopats and Tamagotchi's and whatnot (something Orion busted his balls about to this day) so it made sense to scratch the itch with a very real fakedog.
"You wanna help me find some more balls for the bigger dog? We can make some more friends." Eddison explained. "But first you need a name..."
"Name!" The dog barked, "Name! I needa name!"
"Doofus." Carver offered coolly.
"Darby." Eddie countered with a smirk. "For George Andrew Darby, one of the first inventors of the smoke detector. Makes sense for a firedog no?"
"Clever," Carver quipped with a flick of his ear.
"DARBY!" The dog cried out, "MY NAME IS DARBY!" With another joyous bark he took off after an icy spheal at breakneck speed, pouncing upon it and bringing it back posthaste.
"Fucking!" Carver hissed slightly. "Holy shit he's fast."
"I'm telling you buddy," Eddie purred, taking the ball from Darby and patting his head. "Just like Rion, everyone has their uses and skills. You two don't gotta be the best of friends, but I will not tolerate any interpersonal conflict on my team. The three of us are gonna learn how to be a well oiled kitchen, capiche?"
"Capiche." Carver mewled. "CAPICHE!" Darby barked.
Eddie could see why his cousin liked this game so much already.

He was thankful to have made it and secured a Growlitheâhonestly, this was a classic that a lot of people who were into PokĂŠmon loved.
The moment the next floorâs challenge was announced, he thought he was seeing redâwhy was there ice and snow all the way out here?!
An unbidden growl escaped him for the briefest of moments; because the sight of the accursed phenomenon set him on edgeâmost anything that had to do with ice and snow, he was absolutely wary of; because look at it this way:
Anything that reminded him of the âeternal nightâ in his home server would definitely set him on high alert.
[tangent=âI donât like this. Not one bit,â]âNon mi piace questo. Nemmeno un po',â[/tangent] he would snarl in Italianâhopefully nobody noticed the subtle shift that happened as he saw the next prompt that appeared on his screen.
Thankfully, he already had someone with him that could easily hit that.
The Quaxly would hit the slippery ice, squawking in surprise as they upended themselves on the slippery surface. He would crouch down and help them get righted up, before pointing at one of the accursed dual-type PokĂŠmon.
âI know. It makes no sense at all. Water moves on an Ice-type? But you heard the tower. Use your best Water-type move for me, will you?â
The Water-type would squeal as they skidded across the ice, rocketing towards the nearest Spheal with a souped-up Liquidation smacking round PokĂŠmon squarely and sending it reeling.
Quaxly used Liquidation (water-type move prompt)! NEXT PROMPT (85): [Tower] CDKns7OD1-501-50

There he was again, the guy from the canopy fire, and there was no mistaking the language he was murmuring to himself in this time. While the odd foreign word didn't mean anything - lots of people peppered their ordinary vocabulary with snippets from elsewhere - a full sentence like that was unlikely to just be a coincidence. How strange to come across another Italian on this very American server? Was he trying to hide from his peers too? Not that Nero would admit that was why he was on this particular server if he was asked... and he may well be asked, so he'd have to come up with an excuse at some point soon.
For now though, he thought about introducing himself to the other player, but the usual cowardice flared up in him at the idea of just talking to a stranger out of nowhere like some kind of lonely kid on a playground. No, he couldn't do that, but he could manage a teasing little comment based on what he'd just overheard - one that would give this ' Alkaid ' person (judging by their floating name tag) the same little nod of familiarity that Nero had just gotten from their own speech. [tangent=âCalm down, bro,â]âCalmati, fra,â[/tangent] Nero [tangent="It's just a game."]"Ă solo un gioco."[/tangent]
Anyway, enough of that: the dogs of the park had made another request, and completing it would earn him another valuable team member, so he'd better get to wortk. Slippery balls of Spheal were on the menu today it seemed, and from looking around, the other players seemed to be struggling with actually gripping the happy little ice types. No problem: Nero knew just what to do about that.
His Yanmega came buzzing out of her Pokeball, taking to the sky and turning to look back down at Nero once her wings were settled and she was able to hover like the bug-themed helicopter she truly was. A few quick gestures and instructions on what to do later, and the Yanmega was beating her wings and sending an Air Slash at the nearest Spheal, using the force of the gust to send it rolling back towards the park entrance. There. Slipperiness wasn't a problem when you used their rolling forms to your advantage.

Warping back into the Park of Dogs, those who knew Shalin would be able to see that she wasn't her cheerful self. Very few people present realized the source of her depression: the reality that she would have to part with one of her most loyal companions if she ever wanted to advance in power again. Putting a moratorium on experience gain and shopping was miserable. All of her friends would quickly outclass her if she didn't get the curse lifted... or as much of it as she could. There was one aspect that was permanent; she would never be able to own that PokĂŠmon again.
She would never get to experience riding a Tropius, Donphan, or Yanmega ever again.
Her cheeks turning red from her tears freezing upon them, Shalin clicked open Rumble's PokĂŠ Ball, ordering the Onix to grapple and BIND one of the Spheal. Though it slipped away from the rock-type after a few seconds, the hold was long enough for it to count!

Alicia couldnât help but notice the greenette glitch hunterâs expression when she returned. How could she ignore such a thing? Shalin Nariya had suffered at least as much as she did in that ill-fated run. Possibly more so. She had no way to know for sure. All the more reason to show some kind of solidarity. Ronda appeared in a flash, and looked back to comment towards his trainer. Then he thought better of it as he saw her walking over to her friend. The Cyclizar could only wince as he saw Alicia come up behind her and hug her firmly. Not saying a word, just offering a physical show of support and a caring, understanding shoulder to cry on if she needed it. âGuess Iâm on my own on this oneâŚ?â Ronda muttered. âSo clearly something I have works? I guess? But⌠ah frag itâŚâThe Cyclizar gunned his metaphorical engine, racing through the lines of Spheal as he ran through each move he knew. Finally, he hit on U-Turn and got a reaction from one of the blobs of adorableness. âI did a thing! I guess? Iâm confused here!ââââââââââââââââââââââââ Ronda the Cyclizarâs U-Turn (Bug type Move) Prompt #88: [Tower] nABd17k|1-501-50

Wolf fought the urge to chuckle at the Zamazenta, mouth full of smoking koffing whom did seemed as pleased as the canine. Unfortunately, Zacian wasnât pleased either though allowed its canine to have its fun until fun was no more.
Night came swift, a chill in the air, and white flakes began to fall. On cue, little round several spheals rolled into the area leaving trails behind them in their path. Their rolling paths rather chaos, ramping off of anything and crashing into everything. Wolf didnât even bother looking at the prompts to catch the them, she simply plucked out a sphere.
Within seconds, a dartrix materialized and the player didnât hesitate. âStop them Kikiyo. Razor leaf.â The grass and flying type nodded, a single wing expended out. And with a swift shift of its shoulder down, several blades of grass were flung out others a group of spheal. A clutter of bladed grass knocked on of the rolling ball off its path, slowing it down.

Arthur had avoided the tower until he made sure he secured the title (and also, he was running out of box space). But having more dogs seemed cool, and if nothing else, it would make for good trade fodder now that he was aware that the shops exist. Ignoring the dogs enjoying their balls (well, one of them was enjoying themselves), he went back into the park to find that people were getting close to clearing this particular floor, which was cold (once again, how did he keep finding himself in cold places?) and full of...Spheals, was it? Arthur could acknowledge cute things, even if he didn't really say it out loud all the time, but he made an exception for Spheals, which were really fucking cute.
And rolling. Rolling away from the park entrance in particular, which would not do. The prompt said to use a Fairy type move though (he often forgot that was a thing now, as the type had only been introduced in the later generations. He remember seeing it in the trainer classes and when he picked up Buru the first time, but he still couldn't wrap his head around it. What do you mean dragons were beaten by fairies?!) Unfortunately, Buru was also the only Pokemon he had that had a Fairy move, and it wasn't even an attacking one. Well, it should clear the prompt at least.
<Am I gonna bite stuff?>
âNo, you're gonna Charm them.â
The pink dog let out a rumble that sounded like disappointment, but then she realized that charming meant she was cute, and she liked being called cute. <Who do I act cute to?> she asked with her butt wagging a little bit. Her eyes were sparkling.
âUh, to the ones rolling down. Gotta make them follow you to the door.â he had to stop himself from saying he had to "out-cute" them, because he felt that was going to piss the dog off. The instructions seemed to be enough for her to work with, so she ran up to some of the slower moving Spheals (or those that were taking a break from rolling to chat with each other), and turned up the Charm. Soon, she had at least a few Spheals rolling after her with grins on their faces, and honestly it looked like they were just playing a game of tag.

Glace walked slowly through the park, enjoying the feel of the chilled, evening air. Dogs, Pokemon, and players barked as they sprinted back and forth, corralling Spheal for the canine guardians. Those two loyal dogs deserved a treat.
As the number of balls dwindled, Glace found himself face-to-face with a Spheal. The little creature rolled everywhere it went, a truly strange mode of locomotion, and one that provided a rather nuanced view of the world. "I bet you don't even see things as 'up' or 'down'," Glace said, as his Noibat perched on the Spheal. "You probably see them in terms of distance, don't you? As body lengths or rolls or something."
He nodded, deep in thought, as Noibat rolled the Spheal towards the entrance with little puffs of sound. The Spheal's blubber shuddered and vibrated with every blast, warping it to an alarming degree. As they neared the gate, inertia proved to be enough, and the round Pokemon rolled itself straight out the front gate. NEXT PROMPT (91): [Tower] gIZTJqjX1-501-50

FLOOR 10: FREE FUR A GOOD HOME Zamazenta leaps onto one of the Spheal, squashing it with his body only for the rubbery Pokemon to spring back into shape! Zamazenta is flung high into the sky and comes crashing back down a moment later. He lets out a howl of excitement and repeats the process a few more times.
The park is well past closing now, and the lights have been turned off. The world is dark, aside from the distant stars in the sky above.
"Ball! Ball!" barks Zamazenta, his eyes twinkling with reflected starlight. The Spheal are long forgotten. He wants a star ball.
"Not everything is a ball," chides Zacian.
Ten distant stars drift from the sky, bursting through the atmosphere and crash landing in the park. They punching holes in the turf, throwing up chunks of rocky exterior as they reveal the multicolored lights inside.
"Ball! Ball-Ball!" Zamazenta barks urgently. He paws at the gate, whining. "Ball! Ball! Ball! Ball!"
Zacian narrows her eyes at the ten Minior now floating peacefully around the park. "My brother requires these star balls. Bring them to him."
You have collected 90 Balls and unlocked Poochyena (C)! The next reward (Furfrou) will be unlocked at 100 Balls.

Torino clapped her hands as the stars fell from the sky. Dirt and sky-dust sprayed across the park, and she ran back through the gates with Marocchino at her heels.
She ran past Kyukon and gave him a star-glint smile. "It is much better than stargazing!" she said, laughing. Her whole body was painted from different angles by thrilling light. Incandescent blue, sun-heart red, and a purple only meant for royalty. Torino felt the colors shift and play on her skin like the light from 10 tiny star.
Marocchino leaped into the air and grabbed hold of a summer-yellow Minior. She scrambled up the side of the rock as her weight pulled it back down to the ground.
"Oh good girl!" Torino said, scratching the dog behind the ears. She picked up the shell-less Minior and carried it back to Zamazenta. NEXT PROMPT (92): [Tower] dMwQidf|1-501-50

The sight the hybrid just witnessed was something she never really thought she wouldâve seen in her lifetime. It was comical watching the zamazenta pounce on that poor little spheal, only to be launched skyward before landing on its feet and repeating the process all over again. It was something else, thatâs for sure.
But just as the canine seemed to be really enjoying himself, time had shifted once more and the light began to dim. Pale golden orbs followed zamazentaâs cry for ball, spotting the twinkling stars in the night sky. And for a brief moment, the hybrid was puzzled. Then, it all came crashing down. Literally.
Objects crushed into the ground, craters into the parks turf and kicking up dust and dirt into the air. The player was quick to cover her mouth, thought still coughed. Her gaze narrowed at the floating miniors, sighing as she plucked out another creature and returned the former. âHey Jethro,â Wolf mumble behind a shielded mouth, âcan you knock down a minior or two? They want to play with them.â âOf course,â the happy go lucky marshtomp replied, smiling all the while. He turned to the nearest one, sucked in a bunch of air, then hurled a stream of WATER at one. Not only did he effectively knocking it down, but cleaning it off too!

With it being nearly dark, the only ways that Shalin could see Zacian, Zamazenta, and the balls they wanted were the balls themselves: glowing Minior. It made them easier to track down, but their explosive nature made them dangerous to attack from close range. With the dogs' request of a physical attack, that greatly limited the pool of attacks Shalin could safely use.
Thankfully for Torino and Wolf , Shalin had one.
Withdrawing her Yanma for her newly-evolved Ivysaur, the large grass-type, almost as tall as her trainer was, drew her thick vines that looked like they could cleave just about any living tissue. "Saria, POWER WHIP!" the glitch hunter ordered. The grass-type extended her two vines and pivoted as much as she could on her legs, unwinding and snapping the vine toward the central Minior with sickening speed and force. She wondered if Alicia Westfield was here to witness the violence, considering she had seen what Saria did to her as a Bulbasaur within the Whimsical Woods...

The balls were free-flowing in this park, huh? Not long after Buru was able to charm one of the Spheals to the large dog, more of them fell out of the sky, literally! They were Pokemon that he didn't recognize at all, but they looked beautiful, and admittedly, Arthur kind of wanted one for himself. Too bad this wasn't some kind of wild spawn but just some more balls for the dog to chew or pat or swat. When the lights dimmed, he couldn't help but look up, because there was a sky up there - one that he normally had almost no chance to see in real life. Light pollution stole that from the city-dwellers, after all, so even if he didn't realize it then, he actually would look up often when the server's time would slide to night, because the stars were so pretty.
He snapped out of it when Torino passed him by, and he figured that she meant the falling stars. Well, maybe he preferred if the stars stayed where they were, because he wouldn't like to have one falling on him. âBuru, you're still up.â
There was a sparkle in the pink dog's eyes. <Can I bite 'em?>
Arthur nodded. âYep, go ahead. Just bring them back in one piece.â
They didn't look breakable. They shouldn't be, since they were going to be the bigger dog's play-thing, and that dog's jaw looked much bigger than Buru's. Nonetheless, the Snubbull happily yipped and ran to a light purple meteor, which was only floating slightly above the ground - she then jumped and gave it a good Bite on the side. It didn't look like she planned for what to do next, since she couldn't get her stubby legs to the floor so that she could shake the orb-shaped Pokemon.
Arthur let out a small sigh before walking over to them. âI got you.â he then made sure that both of them were in his arms as he made his way back to the entrance of the park.
