COLOSSAL GLACEONCan you withstand the deep freeze? manish , Yggy Br00ks , and Big Bee find themselves in an arena, facing down a truck sized Glaceon that is rearing to fight! The rocky ground is covered in a foot of snow, and icy wind howls between the massive boulders and through the empty arena seating.
Colossal Pokemon
- Full mechanical combat, using your skill tree
- Intended to be difficult and require special tactics and teamwork
- Difficulty comparable to dungeon bosses, but with a greater focus on mechanics over storytelling
Gameplay
- This battle can have a maximum of three trainers.
- 6 Pokemon can be brought into this battle (across all players). Each player can only send out up to 3 Pokemon at a time.
- Each post, Glaceon will attack first for 2d50 damage.
- Use the stats and tactics below to roleplay Glaceon's moves.
- After damage is dealt, you may attack with as many Pokemon as you have out, using the standard mechanical battle rules.
Stats and Moves
- Glaceon has 1000 HP and access to Ice attacks (Ice Fang, Ice Shard, Blizzard etc) and Normal attacks (Quick Attack, Swift, Double-Edge etc).
- Ice is super effective against Flying, Grass, Ground, and Dragon (+20 damage from Glaceon).
- Ice is weak to Fire, Fighting, Steel, and Rock (+20 damage to Glaceon).
- All of Glaceon's regular attacks deal 2d50 damage.
Tactics
- Glaceon has no preference between Tank/Sweeper/Support enemies, but will attack enemies that are weak to Ice whenever possible.
- Glaceon starts the battle charging a 3d50 AoE Blizzard. After everyone has posted once, Glaceon will unleash the attack.
- Immediately after attacking with its AoE Blizzard, Glaceon will begin charging a second AoE Blizzard, which deals 5d50. When knocked below 200 HP. Glaceon will unleash this attack.
{CALCULATING DAMAGE} Bonuses apply to each dice rolled. Damage can be calculated like so:

Combusken sprinted across the battlefield, legs pumping as she pelted towards Glaceon. Icy wind whipped through the stadium, slashing at her with sleet like shards of frozen plates.

Her blood boiled in the cuts, and the ice sloughed right off her sizzling feathers, little more than slush in the face of such burning passion. "TOOOOOOOOR-KICK!" she yelled, kicking off a rock and planting a duo of glacier-cracking kicks into the side of their opponent's face.

Glaceon staggered, not noticing the little cream glob that was clinging to her fur. As Glaceon regained her footing, the blob uncurled, revealing a pair of massive gloved fists. From inside the rubbery tangle of fists and feet came a tiny voice. "...I wonder..." It raised both fists higher than should have been possible, stretching its body until *TWA-CRUNCH!* the elastic right hook crashed into Glaceon's side, staggering her the other way. She slammed into one of the boulders and let out a low, deep roar of anger.

Manish saw the damage from Big Bee and knew that he had to do something impressive. He wasn’t working with his normal team, though, and was a little worried how it would go. The wind and snow around them picked up as a Blizzard pelted Manish and his two pokemon.

Annoyed, Dwayne narrowed her eyes at the Glaceon <Throw me.>
“I’m sorry, what?”
<Throw me at it’s head.>
Manish shrugged and did what his newly evolved Dwayne asked. He leaned back and chucked Dwayne at the giant Glaceon. While flying through the air, Dwayne focused on hardening up her new shell. A sheen developed over her cocoon just before she slammed into the Glaceon’s face.

Manish looked down at the buzzing cat clinging to his pant leg. Cereal’s large, unblinking eyes stared at his, and a droning noise entered his mind. He shook his head to try to get rid of the sound and nudged Cereal forward. The small cat staggered through the snow and stared up at Glaceon, who was just starting to right itself after the blow to the head. Cereal’s eyes widened and he opened his mouth to let out a reverberating <Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt.>

The arena shrieked with the press of frigid wind. It whistled through cracks and crevices, howling like wolf-song from the walls. Yggy shielded his face against the storm, thumb-sized flakes of snow settling on his cheeks. "Dang! It's snowmageddon out here!" he shouted, barely able to see through the whiteout. If the Glaceon hadn't been the size of a six-wheeler, he wouldn't even be able to see it. But barely, just barely, he could. Something changed in the storm. There was a pulse of ice-blue energy as the snowflakes at the heart of the arena spun faster, forming razor-blades of ice that swirled around like the world's deadliest dollar bill chamber. Yggy unzipped his giant jacket, releasing the Torracat and Galarian Farfetch'd he'd been keeping there for warmth. "You're up, guys!" The core of the storm pulsed again as the Blizzard surged out in an unstoppable wave. "Ducker, quick, Detect! Where's the weak spot?"The mallard's narrow eyes honed in on the storm, finding the leading arm of the Blizzard. He pointed with his leek and Yggy gave him a thumbs-up. "Thanks! Now Flare Blitz, Tigger! We gotta melt that thing before it hits Big Bee and Manish!"The sound of ringing bells filled the Arena as the bobcat leapt into action, flames licking at its collar. Flames ignited and wreathed the feline Pokemon, all four paws pricking as it tore through the wave of ice in a wide lap around the Colossal Glaceon. The air around it steamed with compressed heat, cutting through the Blizzard like a hot knife through ice cream. At the last second, Tigger broke away, diving towards Glaceon in a sizzling comet instead. DISRUPT ATTACK: DETECT

"Love your work Manish!" Big Bee yelled above the howling of the storm and the clang of steel on ice. He hunkered down as the wind picked up. Ice pounded his body like hacky sacks thrown by preteens. "Careful everyone! This is gonna be a big one!"
But it wasn't.
Yggy's duo burst through the building blizzard, reducing it to a cool squall at best. "Yeah that's the stuff Big Y!"
Orange and TKO take 2 damage from Glaceon's AoE
Glaceon snapped at Combusken. Orange ducked under the snapping winter fangs, sliding under the colossal foe. She opened her beak and let out a crow that became a roar as a jet of flame shot straight up, engulfing Glaceon from underneath.

It was the moment TKO had been waiting for, and as its suckers met the icy ground it stuck fast, using the momentum of the roll to hurl Glaceon sideways. The boss slammed into a jut of rock, crumpling momentarily before getting back on its giant, adorable feet.

Manish froze staring at Big Bee. “He remembers my name…” he whispered to himself, a big grin taking over his face. He probably would have stayed like that if Big Bee hadn’t then said something about the Glaceon’s attack. Manish yelped and crouched down and wrapped his arms around his head in preparation of getting hit by the Glaceon’s attack, but nothing hit. He peeked open one eye and saw Yggy’s team stop their impending doom. Manish jumped up in a cheer. “That was awesome, Yggy!”
He took a moment to locate his pokemon. Cereal seemed to be holding his own, but Dwayne seemed to be suffering a little bit more. Her shell was scratched up and Manish worried that she wouldn’t be able to take much more. “Hold on a bit longer, please!” Manish yelled as Glaceon fired ice at his two pokemon.

Both Cereal and Dwayne hunkered down as they were pelted with ice. It hurt, but they were both standing, or well, in Dwayne’s case, just kind of there after the hit. “You guys are doing so well! Okay, um, Cereal, use Psyshock! Dwayne, hit it with Iron Defense again.” Manish could only hope that Dwayne’s hard cocoon would protect her a little longer.
Cereal focused on gathering energy as Dwayne rolled in front of him. As soon as Dwayne winked at Cereal, he unleashed his Psyshock, which caught Dwayne in the waves of energy and sent him flying back at the Glaceon. While in the air again Dwayne hardened up her cocoon and got ready for the oncoming hits.

Dwayne slammed into Glaceon repeatedly before finally bouncing off and flying towards one of Big Bee’s pokemon. Dwayne knew that she wasn’t going to take another hit, at least not long enough to do any more damage. However, she could be used as a shield. <Hey you> she yelled at Orange, <think fast and catch me! You can use me as a shield!>
Dwayne’s hits were immediately followed up by Cereal’s Psyshock, the cat giving off a <bzzzzzzzzzzzt> the entire time.

Yggy gave Manish a cool and close-up thumbs-up, like Naruto. "No prob!" he said brightly. "That's what playing on a team is all about!" He mimed a baseball swing, shielding his eyes as he looked at the colossal Glaceon. Big Bee's Pokemon were currently throwing it around the field like Decepticons on a Transformers set. "Don't worry, I'll cover you guys. Just go, go, go!"It was clear the Glaceon was charging another Blizzard attack, this one even more terrible than before. Arctic winds magnetized around the boss as her ice-furred chest expanded, filling with adverse weather. Tigger and Ducker stood poised and waiting, the duck Pokemon's eyes narrowed as it waited for the perfect moment to give the signal. It happened: As Manish's Pokemon battered the Glaceon like a raccoon caught in a pinball machine, the blast of psychic energy rocking the boss back on its hind paws. Its front paws pummeled the air in gigantic slow-motion, its mouth opening as deadly winds collected in its jaws. <Now!>Ducker's Detect activated and he swung his leek forward, pointing towards Glaceon's open mouth. Tigger bunched his powerful haunches and launched himself like a rocket, flames ringing from the bell around his neck and burning blue in the back of his throat. Before Glaceon could launch her Blizzard, the Flamethrower was already at point-blank range, The Torracat landed on her lip, flames still pouring from his jaws as he fought the AoE attack degree-for-degree, hot-for-cold. Water poured from Glaceon's mouth like twin waterfalls as she emptied out her freezer into a furnace, the attack utterly neutralized. "Aaaaand strike!" Yggy mimed another baseball swing. He grinned, rosy-cheeked from the cold. "We can go swimmin' after this!"DISRUPT ATTACK: DETECT

Orange thought fast. As Dwayne ricocheted off Glaceon she grabbed him by the spikes, planted him in the snow, and hunkered behind him like a knight behind a tower shield.
Glaceon reared back, preparing a devastating Blizzard, but Yggy's Pokemon were all over it like Bunya on a fresh fish. Big Bee watched as the flames split the blizzard, once again blocking the brutal attack. "Yeah! That's the stuff right there guys!" Big Bee said, cheering Yggy Br00ks and manish. They were a fantastic team, and it was time to bring it all home. "We're definitely hitting the beach after this," Big Bee agreed, completely missing what Yggy was referring to but nonetheless swept up in his infectious enthusiasm.
When no Blizzard hit, Orange opened her eyes. She looked up, just in time to see Glaceon's massive fangs snapping down at her. She brought up Dwayne, and teeth clashed with steely cocoon. Orange crowed in triumph, kicking backwards to get out of range of the jaws. "TKO! Give me an opening!" she called.
A lump formed under Glaceon's thick fur, and there was a crunch like shattering masonry. Glaceon staggered, howling, and snapped at the lump, gnawing at her own hindquarters like a Houndour with a single, large flea.

Orange leapt forward, wielding Dwayne in both hands and using his spikes like climbing pitons to clamber up the side of the thrashing boss. "Did you like my Torkick before?" she asked, claws digging into Glaceon's side. The boss whipped around and got a mouthful of Dwayne's spikes. "Well how about my Combusk-SHINS!"
Using the spikes for leverage, Orange flipped upward, landing two brutal shin attacks across the side of Glaceon's face. CRACK! CRACK!

The ice giant staggered, rocked by the brutal combination of kicks, punches, and the seeping poison from a thousand Dwayne-pricks. With a creak like a splitting ice sheet Glaceon collapsed into the snow.

Glaceon hits the ground, sending up a flurry of snow and chunks of ice. The icy wind fades to a cool breeze, and a popup appears on your HUD.
